The best restaurants in South East

The lady was very unfriendly. The café was empty. I ordered two coffees and waited 15 minutes at the table, which I thought was strange. I went to the counter and instead of making my coffee she was frying rissois. She didn't even apologize or justify herself. Never again.

Love this place… coffee is great, food is great, people are lovely. What more do you need :)

Un pánico de última hora de 8 amigos buscando un lugar para tomar algo de comida y una bebida. Todo sucede por una razón y ahora puedo garantizar que volveremos. ¡Qué pub tan agradable en un entorno encantador! La comida era realmente a un precio razonable, así que tengo que decir que pensé lo peor, pero tenía hambre. Cuando la comida empezó a salir me di cuenta de que no tenía nada de qué preocuparme. Todo estaba arreglado con cuidado y atención y todo estaba caliente. No es una mala comida entre nosotros. Todos limpiamos nuestros platos. Normalmente no tomo fotos de mi almuerzo, pero el esfuerzo que se hizo para hacer esta ensalada de gambas y aguacate fue increíble. Puedo decirte que también sabía tan bien como parecía. También tuvimos un cumpleaños en nuestro grupo y todo el pub se unió con la canción de cumpleaños. En general una experiencia encantadora y siento que he encontrado una joya de un lugar.

Tiny cafe very narrow inside but mirrors down the sides make it look twice as big - very deceiving! The waitress who served us had a friendly manner and a nice smile! Was reasonable prices, we had coffee, tea and eggs on toast. We had a chat with a lady on the next table who goes in there every day, very cosy, warm and friendly. If I lived locally I would also go in there every day

This spot is amazing for some drinks when meeting family after getting off of the train, such welcoming and bubbly landlady who provided colourings, pencils and a baby cup for my 4 year old sister

I’m new to Lewes as I’m visiting. I’m also a coffee shop aficionado. So, as I’d done nearly all the coffee shops in town I did a Google search for my last one and try somewhere different. I found this place via the excellent reviews, but being by the station I was curious if they were true. I can wholeheartedly agree with everyone else! The coffee here is most definitely the best tasting, but the service from Delina was impeccable! Kudos to the team for creating a good space to switch off and watch the world. And I’ve been to a lot of coffee places around the world!

Lovely people, great coffee and snacks, a nice vibe, and also great to sit outside when the weather is good. Why go to the coffee chains when you have gems like this.

Can't fault it, £10 for collection on a 15 inch pizza and it was banging 🙌 Cheers guys

Shocked to see any reviews under 5 stars. Yes, you have to wait (minimal) time if you do not pre-order, but I’d much rather wait 20 minutes for delicious, fresh, authentic food. The staff are super friendly and lovely to chat to. I’d give the food 6 stars if I could. The Puri’s are delicious, samosas are perfect and not oily and the wraps are fresh, filling and super tasty. Support your local business and treat yourself. Enjoying our new Friday evening meal! Can’t wait to try the biryani.

Everything in headley fine foods is yummy to the extreme, in fact it is probably the best thing about headley! The owners are lovely people, and make this not just a place to get delicious food, but also a really important part of the village. I think I could get addicted to the Victoria sponge though… you have been warned
