A last minute panic of 8 friends looking for somewhere to have some food and a drink. everything happens for a reason and now I can guarantee we will be back. What a wonderfully friendly pub in a lovely setting. The food was really reasonably priced so I have to say I thought the worse but was hungry. Well as the food started to come out I realised I had nothing to worry about. Everything was dished up with care and attention and it was all piping hot. Not a bad meal among us. Everyone one of us cleared our plates. Normally I don't take pictures of my lunch but the effort that was made to make this prawn and avocado salad was amazing. I can tell you it tasted as good as it looked too. We also had a birthday in our group and the whole pub joined in with the birthday song. Overall a lovely experience and I feel I have found a gem of a place.

Our first visit since it reopened. Food menu is not extensive but the food was well prepared at reasonable prices served by friendly/helpful staff. Sadly, there is nothing cosy about the dining room which feels a bit stark with harsh acoustics as no soft furnishings to absorb noise. It seems popular with locals as has a pool table & sport TV at the front & dining area slightly segregated.

A really welcoming pub. Just what myself and my dog needed after a fabulous 5+ mile autumnal circular walk around the twin peaks of Bowsey Hill and Ashley Hill. Loads of longer and shorter routes easily constructed from the large network of footpaths north and south of the pub. Inside, the pub was clean, warm, bright and very dog friendly with plenty of dog water bowls, inside and out. The bar staff were very attentive, friendly and wearing bat headgear - Halloween inspired perhaps? My £12 fish and chips was top notch with crisp batter and the fish cooked perfectly within. Fabulous! Oct 31st.

Came here on a Monday night for the first time in 20 years. It's changed a lot since last time I was here, but it was still nice, in more of a "local pub" way than the restaurant it used to be. Lovely pint of Brakspear, and a really delicious pie and chips with good gravy. Reasonably priced, friendly staff, and they scored 5 for food hygiene, which is always nice to know.

Very welcoming staff. All the people in the bar are very welcoming. Very dog friendly place staff may even tempt your four legged friend with a treat or two. Plenty of room outside weather permitting for children to run around.

This Pub is set back of the main A4 Bath Road in Knowl hill, The Chef is regarded to the highest standards, his food is always eaten by the locals as well as walkers, the homemade Oxtail soup is amazing, also a great choice of Gins and Whiskeys and 3 guest ales as well as lagers, ciders. I have been going to this pub as a local as many others do we need to support small local pubs or we will loose them.

This is a friendly, traditional locals pub with a rural feel - though conveniently situated just off the A4 up a quiet country road on the outskirts of Maidenhead. We left our car here while we did a circular countryside walk around the area, then returned for a lovely meal. The menu is up on blackboards in the bar (plus a specials board), and is traditional British pub food fayre - not to mention a lovely curry option too! I enjoyed a piping-hot Cumberland sausage and mash, and my partner had goujons - our meals were very tasty, and we didn’t have to wait very long. Good beer range too - all in all an excellent ‘proper’ pub off the beaten track that’s well worth a visit.

A nice traditional little English pub 500 yards off the A4 certainly seemed friendly enough , quiet when we arrived as was early on a bank holiday Monday . A good pint of Guinness and my friend said the real ale was well kept . The menu looked to be very fairly priced , definitely worth a visit .

Very small but a lovely warm atmosphere. Open fire in winter makes it so cosy. Not easy to see off the main A4 but well worth a visit. Great Sunday roast at a reasonable price

My wife and I booked a table after reviewing trip advisor for restaurants in Knowl Hill. Nice pub with limited indoor seating but if it's nice then there is plenty of garden space and seats. Limited menu but food was good and ample potions. Good value too!

14 of us (plus 2 dogs) descended on the pub for Sunday lunch in the middle of a walk. We'd prebooked and were given a lovely table outside with views across the countryside. The food was excellent and plentiful and very very good value. The staff were very friendly and if we lived any closer we'd visit again.

We had passed this place a number of times but always assumed it was closed or if not the car park seemed full. However we went past on a Sunday morning and it was open and the car park had been redesigned and had spaces available so we went in. It's a very traditional English cafe .The menu is all on the wall and you have to queue up to order but there is a wide selection of breakfasts to have. We ordered a variation of full English and were given a mug of tea and bread and butter was brought to our table . When the cooked breakfasts arrived very quickly we were given top ups to our mugs of tea. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced around £8.00 including tea. They have also daily specials .It's much larger than I thought as there is an indoor patio area at the back and has lots of table space. It got busy later as the locals came in , if only the tourists knew what they are missing.

We came here during our minimoon stay. On arrival we were treated to a glass of champagne and from start to finish the service was 10/10. We were made to feel so welcome and the staff were so attentive and knowledgeable. The food was delicious - the truffle pasta and chips were wonderful. The restaurant had beautiful decorations and despite being in a conservatory was really warm.

From the time you walk in you are made to feel at home. The ambience is of a small family run establishment, but the service is stellar. Alice, our waitress was cool and kept us entertained.

A great place to stop for a coffee and a cake. I was out cycling and we passed through Windsor. Located in the old ticket hall of the station, it’s a bustling cafe with tourists visiting Windsor castle and cyclists from all over, stopping here for a break. It’s really accommodating for cyclists with its indoor bike racks, heated glove warmers in the winter time for those who like winter riding. It’s the highlight of a ride when we head out this way
