It is so rare to be able to browse in a small shop without being pressurised to buy. Although I originally went in looking for bamboo socks ,I was delighted to find a couple of long sleeved, viscose tops which I came across by chance and which will be great for layering - at under £10 each and made in the UK. I also agree with another reviewer that there is a great selection of jewellery. It's the sort of shop where I could have come away not having bought anything, and not felt awkward. I hadn't realised that the shop also served coffee and cake until I was inside, but intend to return and sample this next time!

Paul and Dianne are now a coffee shop plus lovely cakes to enjoy. After refreshments browse the clothes, shoes, socks, hats, gloves and bags. Don’t forget the beautiful jewellery. Diane has the knack of putting outfits together along with necklaces and scarves to tempt the most fussy shopper. Stock arrives on a regular basis so there is always something new to discover. I always find something new that I really NEED!! 😃

Have had coffee here a few times to spread our custom around in Princes Risborough but it is my least favourite bar one. The owners are really pleasant and the coffee is good but it does feel like you are sitting in a clothes shop. The tables are very close together so any conversations are shared by all.

We often shop here , it sells the best and tastiest cheese in miles. Black bomber cheddar, Oxford blue blue cheese and many others particularly the French brie/camenberts. We sometimes have coffee and cake here, very enjoyable. Ladies clothes shop on first floor, my wife enjoys it and has purchased a couple of items. Service very good by friendly owners. A pleasure to shop here,

Have just come out of this very friendly, warm hearted cafe. The owners who also run it treat everyone with great respect and kindness. The coffee was wonderful and their cheese, which I bought to go home with for lunch, is to die for. I had forgotten how good cheese can taste after buying the supermarket stuff for far too long! The range of cakes looked very tempting indeed but I am trying to cut back!!

The Fieldmouse has become our first port of call in PR for a light lunchtime snack or afternoon tea as the food is delicious and is always freshly made. The owners/staff are always welcoming and adaptable. Shop is on the small side, so not many tables, but that is part of its charm.

Have been to this tea room many times...they do a special for £6.50 which is a sandwich of your choice, a hot drink and scone (warm), clotted cream and jam..all freshly made whilst you wait. Favourite sandwich is brie, apple and mango chutney...all sandwiches come with crisps and salad. Great counter selection of unprocessed homemade cheeses for sale and clothing, trinkets and homewares adorn the tea room and upstairs shop to tempt the coins from your purse. A very intimate tea room experience, served by lovely people and well worth a visit

The Fieldmouse was a destination cafe as, having cycled from Thame to Princess Risborough, we wanted somewhere close to the ride and had read of the cafe's excellent reputation. We were a little disappointed in the Fieldmouse but still feel it just about justifies four stars. We ordered Coronation Chicken sandwiches and a cordial for me. My husband requested a glass of water (it was an extremely hot day) however I felt a frisson of disappointment emanating from the waitress at his choice of beverage - although it was given without comment. The food itself was very tasty and the bread (granary), excellent. The sandwiches were full of filling and although not cheap £8.40 for two, were delicious. I have only felt able to award four stars to The Fieldmouse for the fact that the sandwiches were described as coming with a salad and crisps. Indeed they did but being served on a small side plate, there was hardly room for the sandwiches, salad and crisps and it was difficult to eat them without food spilling onto the table: larger plates would be a better idea! The 'salad' itself consisted of a few pieces of lettuce which had browned at the edges. Although it was a hot day and perhaps this was all they had to offer, I would not have served these to customers. There were a few pieces of chopped tomatoes and red onion on the plate too. We were also disappointed at the selection of cheeses available - very plebeian! We were expecting a huge array of French cheeses but saw a very basic selection. Perhaps we were unlucky on the day. I would return to The Fieldmouse again for the tasty food but a larger plate and fresh salad leaves would be an improvement to this quaint little cafe.

I visited this absolutely charming little café purely because my granddaughter needed the loo and when you're only two years old.....! So, in we went and the lovely couple who I would guess to be the owners could not have been nicer. We enjoyed coffee for me and apple juice for my granddaughter but the menu for light snacks, cakes and lunches was extrememly inviting and I'll certainly go back. Upstairs looked very interesting too with ladies clothes an accessories, My granddaughter enjoyed her chat with then owner so much that she told her mummy all about it later! They also had a wonderful display of cheeses which has certainly persuaded me to return. Small, with not many tables but well worth a visit and the coffee is excellent.

Very pleasant hour spent in this welcoming cafe this afternoon - food and drinks promptly arrived by the owners Diane and Paul - whilst I decided to tuck into an extra scone my better half went upstairs to view the latest ladies fashion arrivals in their boutique - coming down after ten minutes with a birthday present for our daughter - by which time I was looking at the breads and cheeses on offer with Paul - this is Princes Risborough festival week so plenty to see and do.

I am a regular rather than frequent visitor to Princes Risborough & chose the Fieldmouse for a light lunch last month (January). I was so impressed that I returned again last week (February). It's a small venue but the staff are welcoming & attentive without being intrusive. There are obviously regulars & it was a pleasure to overhear the sensitive & caring conversation between the staff & them. The menu is wide ranging & the food fresh. I am boring & repetitive so order the same items every time. Know what you like & like what you know!Fieldmouse is a haven of tranquility, the food is excellent & as Arnie oft said "I'll be back!"

Princes Risborough seems to be an ever changing landscape with new shops and cafés coming and going all the time. The Field Mouse continues to stand the test of time and never disappoints. There is a big range of sandwiches but the quiches they have on offer are my favourite, served warm with a nice salad and fresh bread. The scones and tea are lovely too. The service is always friendly and the cafe is fairly full at peak times due to the limited seating available, worth hovering for a table!

First visit, and took elderly parents. I felt so sorry for the couple running the place today, there were only 2 staff, so I know our experience will be clouded by this, but it isn't their fault! I booked a table and explained one of the party had dementia. On arrival, there was a long queue of people ordering food, so my elderly folks went to find somewhere to stand out of the way. It was VERY cold and the radiators weren't turned on which wasn't ideal for the oldies We sat in "the kitchen" which only had a small table. We ordered 4 all day breakfasts and were warned that service might be slow due to only 1 person in the kitchen. It was slow, but worth the wait, despite my dad getting uncomfortably chilly. The plates were huge. Much bigger than the table could cope with along with lovely pots of tea and plates of toast. Maybe use smaller plates, just an idea The plates were also cold so the food chilled down quickly sadly. We loved the fabulous design and displays! Really fun, especially for my olds who are in their 80s. 3 things we thought we would share. The bicycle in the doorway is very easy to catch your clothing on or trip over. In case of a power failure or fire, it also partially blocks the exit and could cause issues. The signage on the beautiful old front door is nailed in with thin pins which could catch on skin or clothes. The threshold of the "kitchen" leading out where the military jackets are hanging is a bit slippy and a trip hazard. Dad has bad eyesight. I guess a lot of your customers may be of the older generation. Just something to look at! The 2 staff were absolutely lovely, and were like swans on a lake. Graceful and calm, but you know their little feets were going at 100mph under the water! We would come back, but not til it is warmer in there. Fab food and staff. Sorry we got you in a bad day, but we aren't completely put off!
