The best restaurants in South East

I had a wonderful dinner with my wife at The Bracken Place restaurant inside The Hilton Doubletree Hotel in Chilworth, Southampton, England on our trip to our Norwegian cruise. First the restaurant manager, Gee, was so pleasant and helpful to us as we entered the restaurant. She made us feel very welcome and glad that we had come to the restaurant. Our server, Bashu, did an excellent job helping us with the excellent menu. My wife had the vegetable curry and rice and I had the beef brisket. Our food was delicious and we also had the watercress/cheddar/ale soup to start. My wife claims that is the best soup she has ever had! So, if you are coming Southampton to join a cruise or just visiting lovely Southampton, please try The Bracken Place restaurant.

poor choice/range, seem to have run out of products even by 1 pm. didn't have full range of sandwiches, even after a new delivery.

Visited on a Friday early evening. No one to serve, waited a while and no one came. Hotel reception saw us but just ignored us, would have said something normally but thought we would just leave. New modern sports style bar but pointless if no service

In a nutshell: Food: The chicken was tasty with the mild sauce. Fries with piri-piri salt, also not bad -- honestly, better than KFC fries. Ketchup - really poor quality. Even Lidl & Aldi's house brand ketchup is way better. The rice is way over-spiced with chili. The side salad ... well ... it seems that Pepe's has never heard of such a thing as salad dressing. It's just bare lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes. They have some 'garlic sauce' for the chicken that can double as salad dressing however We ate in which was okay. At least the place is relatively clean and has the feel of a somewhat acceptable fast food restaurant. All in all, reasonable compared to sit down restaurants. You can get a 1/4 chicken box for £7.69 currently. Add £2.50 for a meal (includes a soft drink and fries.) Did you know that Pepe's is a UK based chain? I didn't either. Now that you know you can try to visit all 192 locations and the two in Dubai.

272 The High street Rochester Kent is a private house, The que and brew is located at the Huntsman Pub 106 Patterns lane Rochester and it is very good food. American Bar-b-que style.

Get the ribeye steak and fries with Diane sauce! Absolutely amazing! Fish and chips were equally as good as the fish was fresh and light with the batter! Fries were big fries of tasty goodness- not soggy or burnt. Just perfectly seasoned with the right amount of crispy on the outside! Thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant at the Novotel. Service was wonderful as well and there weren't that many people in there so it was quiet and easy to hear conversation with my husband! Absolutely stay here and eat at their restaurant.

Stopped in for a coffee but as it was lunchtime decided to have a jacket potato. I chose cheese n beans and my partner the chilli, both were served with a nicely presented side salad and butter if you wanted it. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the food was hot, tasty and good value for money. Would definitely go back.

I rarely go to a subway but my son wanted to try it, the staff were barely interested, we weren’t offered a choice of breads and apparently I wasn’t allowed any salad in my sub as it was already wrapped/ hadn’t been offered. Frqnchise like these ruin the brand name. I won’t go back in my lifetime. Sunbury cross subway youre useless.

Generous portions, all of which is tasty. But the food needs to be hotter.

Ordered from this restaurant to find STRANDS OF HUMAN HAIR in my food. I called the restaurant to ask for a refund and their response was “sometimes the herbs make that happen”. Was told to speak to the delivering company as it’s their issue not the restaurants. I do have pictures of evidence as well but they didn’t seem to care.

We ordered a Deliveroo for lunch whilst at work. We got some sort of meal deal - it was salt and pepper chicken, rice, mini spring rolls, prawn crackers and a soft drink, all x2. The food arrived lukewarm but that's more to do with the fact that we are 8 miles from the restaurant, not a fault of Chopstix so it does not affect my scoring (I get fed up of reading people down score places because of the delivery service). Chicken was nice, spring rolls were good, rice pleasant if a little dry. To be fair I would probably give it 3.5 out of 5, but I can't give half points on here and it's not worthy of a 4.0, so 3.0 it is! Worth a try but we were not mad about having it again in a hurry.

The drinks were nice, the cakes etc looked nice ( but didn’t try this time), the decor is nice and modern. I found the service lacking in friendliness and there seemed tension in the air ( couldn’t quite put my finger on it) , it’s been the same the last two times I have visited, that’s why I only go in here occasionally. Plenty of other friendlier independent cafes in town. The ladies loo had no loo paper upstairs, extremely annoying. It’s nicer upstairs and good to chill but the staff put me off. When my friends bun arrived there was no communication, nothing, just plonked on the table,

My son recently celebrated his 6-th birthday at Fleet restaurant and I have to say that I was impressed. Not only that he enjoyed his pizza making party so much , we , as parents were blown away by the dedication of the staff to make everyone happy . They do these parties only once a week on a Sunday so you have to book well in advance if you want to catch an open space , but they are so worth it ! The kids will have so much fun making their own pizza , they'll learn about all the ingredients and some of the secrets of pizza express and also the chefs will put up a show of throwing and spinning pizza dough in the air ...all kids will have a great memory for a long time after this . Big shout out to Mia , the hostess who looks after these parties, the chef , Arlindo and to the manager ! They all gave their best to make my son's birthday a day to remember . Couldn't be more happy , THANK YOU !

A normal Pizza Express. Recommended.
