5 of us went on a Saturday evening and were extremely impressed with both the standard of cooking, presentation and service. Jez, Holly and Jamie were appropriately attentive and there was nothing we could really criticise. As a group the courses we had that were the rabbit lasagne, fish soup monkfish, steak and chocolate delice which also looked beautiful. A seriously good chef and appropriately limited menu.
Took my elderly mother in law with other family plus dog for Friday lunch. We were extremely warmly received by Erol and had a lovely table near the roaring fire. First off, the local brew was one of the best.
Had the home baked bread as a nibble with our drinks. It was made with charcoal and flour but light and airy with a fab flavour and served with homemade herb butter (Erol grows and dries his own oregano!)
I had the fish and chips. Fresh Pollock (sustainable 👍) in a light crisp batter which was cooked to perfection and the chips perfectly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. 11 out of 10!
We also had the spicy chicken wings which were finger licking good. My mother in law had homemade celeriac soup which was utterly delicious.
It’s not often that after I eat out I feel the urge to write a glowing review but The Harrow and our wonderful experience made me feel the need. Definitely going back for more.
Absolutely love this place . First visit ever .. had two dogs with me .. and felt at ease the staff are very friendly and extremely helpful.. which I haven't seen in ages .. would certainly recommend a visit .. food lovely too
Quadrant House 49 Croydon Road Quadrant House South, England
To start off I orderd a Custom sub including off Slamai and bacon as the 2 meats with vegetables off peppers cucumbers tomatoes and lettuces she charged me for a spicy sub 8.99 then charged me for extra meat being salami then charged me again for having bacon therefore charging me for 2 when should of only been charged for 1 if not none which would have costed less money
Overall cost 12.49
Should of costed 8.99
This pub is my local and the ales are fantastic but just a word of warning that there is no longer lunch or dinner served except for special events....
I hoped for more. The service was a little inattentive whilst the staff played around with music playlists jumping from one song to another. The food was ok and quite tasty but poorly presented and MASSIVELY overpriced. £80 for a barbecue sharing platter!! This can be got elsewhere and better for half that price. In short, I would not go back.
Pleasant. The food is tasty (I especially recommend the Garlic naan). The vegetarian dishes were all delicious. There were 5 of us and we enjoyed different dishes. Not a single dish disappointed us. The dish…Chana (chuck peas) and…Aubergine were especially delicious.
