Normally come here on a regular basis with my mum on but this occasion we had a terrible service and experience. For regular customers to be treated this way was awful.
So we had a lady in front of us order a a med/reg cappuccino and the Ladie Katie behind the counter got this order wrong. She was given a Large, the Ladie said “oh that’s far too big”, Katie then swapped the drink over for a Med.
We made an Order for a Medium Str/Cream frappe, we received a Small.
When asked, Katie said she put a small down even though we said we asked for a Medium. When challenge this to (I’m guessing the guy was a manager) the Manager he was very Persistent that Katie was in the correct even though we said “We asked for a Medium” but cause we were changed for a small and received a small. Nothing else mattered. In there eyes, we were wrong.
He asked if I was given the receipt after we placed the Order (Yes. He knew this as we shown him) then said “we should have checked the receipt before sitting down”. Putting the blame on us. May I add my mum is disabled so she’s not going to look down at the receipt after purchasing. She’s disabled!! After the manager putting up some type of confrontation, he was NOT there when Katie was making these mistakes.
They starting speaking in the Kitchen about us (no customers were around so it was dead quiet I can here them speaking about us) then another colleague after that, the manager walking into the office doors whilst the colleague looked at us. It was very obvious. we were made to feel uncomfortable so I was so annoyed they made us feel this way.
Not Professional at all. As a business owner myself I feel Katie needs training and the manager needs replacing with someone the knows how to deal with complaints because that is not how you deal with it.
I will be taking this further.

The reception staff are hopeless, indifferent to requests and generally unhelpful. That is based on more than one visit.
Conversely, our waitress was delightful, the food superb and the restaurant atmospheric.
The wine carried the usual ludicrous English mark up but what we chose was good.
Unfortunately It has been a few months since we last visited. Tonight the Ashoka again showed why in our opinion it is absolutely the best Indian restaurant in the area. The service and staff were outstanding; attentive, professional and friendly as always. The food was brilliant: Chicken Jalfrezi, Chicken Chittinad, Chicken Passanda and King Prawn Naga were all balanced and delicious. All the accompaniments were also excellent. Thank you to all the staff in the restaurant and in the kitchen. We’ll be back soon and would recommend everyone to visit. You will not be disappointed!

I went to pick up goat meat pepper from this restaurant, the place was very dirty and on kept, the goat pepper meat appears like a goat stew instead of pepper goats, the owner wasn't friendly at all. I regretted my £12 I wasted, will not ordered anything from this restaurant again....
Food good apart from the minimal amount or forgetting the cheese is ridiculous but you need to spend £8 or over to get delivery . Also canr believe they haven't heard of loaded fries or seen what Southampton comes up with an there kebabs omg well I have had all the kebabs an this is one of the better shame not the best I've ever had .
Absolutely amazing we ordered thay took the money and nothing thay sent a message at 01.45 to say it was delivered at ten past nine Absolutely disgusting please don't order from this shop be warned
We phoned in an order for £50 of food...went to collect 15 mins later only to find out it was cash only and I had to find a cashpoint to pay. Food was very greasy and chicken had not been skinned and a portion of chicken balls were missing. Cash only always set off my radar as being suspicious.
When visiting Oxford, there are certain experiences that are simply quintessential, and finding a lovely cafe to enjoy a traditional British scone is certainly one of them. I recently visited a cafe here "Vaults & Garden" where, in my opinion, trying their scone is an absolute must.
This cafe offers what I found to be a perfect pairing: an excellent scone and a good cup of coffee. The combination is simply delightful.
The classic way to enjoy a scone involves splitting it and generously layering it with clotted cream and then either jam or marmalade. Doing this here, whilst perhaps taking in the view of the iconic Radcliffe Camera, elevates the experience considerably. The scone itself had a lovely texture and flavour, providing the ideal base for the rich clotted cream and sweet or tangy spread.
The setting, especially if you can find a spot with a view of the magnificent Radcliffe Camera, adds significantly to the enjoyment. It creates a memorable moment, savouring a classic treat while looking out at one of Oxford's most famous architectural landmarks.
Love this place! The food is always spot on—full of flavour and super fresh, biryani was perfect. You can tell it’s a proper family-run spot, they’re always friendly and make you feel welcome. Easily my go-to for an Indian!
I took my wife and two young children down here for Mothers Day having not visited for a few years, and to be honest it really didn't live up to how I remembered.
The staff were very friendly and the restaurant itself has a decent feel to it, but there were a number of things that didn't sit right.
We booked a table for 11.45am, and through my own fault didn't realise that the larger, lunch menu didn't start until midday. We did ask if we could order from the lunch menu as we weren't far off the time but were told no, and because we had two very hungry, irritable children we ordered from the smaller, very egg-based breakfast menu. Two nutella pancakes, two rounds of egg on toast and a couple of glasses of the cheapest champagne.
This took about 30 mins to come out due to a busy kitchen, which meant by the time the food came out people near to us where being served the lunch menu!!
The final insult was being charged nearly £120 for the above, which I paid without really thinking just to get the kids out as they were getting loud and restless. It wasn't until we got home that I tried to figure out how on earth pancakes, toast and two glasses of bubbles could've come to this amount of money.
A real shame as the last time I visited here with my parents, brother and my wife we had a really good meal. I understand that prices have risen across the board over the last 4-5 years, but this did seem extreme and no way good value for money.
