Ordered at 18:45 and the food was ready an hour late - a lad rang me to tell me my order would be ready at 19:30 - I had to wait and extra hour left the shop at 20:30 - absolutely unacceptable and the food is good but not worth such a long wait - I will never go back.

The best Indian takeaway in Reading. Always piping hot, always delicious, and totally afforable.

The lad who works at the front was very nice he was very polite and made sure i had all my food. overall i would order from dilraj again as a 20% discount is definitely worth picking up.

Food was very nice but containers only half full for a second time. Only 7 peices of potato in the Bombay aloo. Used to be a lot better.

How a popular Indian resturant in 2024 still charges full price for bite size samosas, the google and uber eats images shows bigger pieces, tricks you into paying full price for kid size samosas is beyond unacceptable, everywhere I've ate at reading serves big pieces and it's worth 1-3£ per portion. I paid 1£+ per portion thinking it's the bigger ones and recieved these kid size samosas I can get 10 for 1 pound at supermarkets. It's unacceptable serving these samosas in 2024. I don't hate your resturant I just felt scammed for what I got and what I paid for. This is a scam and false advertisement, I'm sorry

Good is always nice, never have an issue, hot and fresh.

food was very disappointing I'm guessing they are using a different chef we had chicken biryani saga aloo mushroom bhaji and bombay potatoes it was all pretty bland and to be honest all dishes pretty much tasted the same not to mention only half filling takeaway dishes sorry dilraj not good enough

I have been getting my Indian takeaways from Dilraj for over 30 years, and the service and food have been consistent . Excellent service, excellent quality, and food are delicious

Cannot review this restaurant as the food was never delivered . They have taken the money out of my account. I have rang them and emailed them but have not had a respond .Beware if ordering from here.

I had to wait a while but it was well worth it. Best takeaway food in this area. Definitely eat again

Late delivery, no courtesy call or update, called them and fobbed off “it’s busy” - too busy to just update the delivery time? Food wasn’t hot anymore, appetites ruined. Lacking any courtesy to let hungry paying customers know there’s a delay.

I bought lamb Biriani and fungus saag both dishes were delicious and the price was cheaper then so many other Indian takeaways, across the road there's plenty of parking, will definitely make this my go-to indian

I ordered Sheesh Kabab, chicken rogan, saag paneer and dhaal with garlic naan, hoping for a traditional Indian meal as I didn’t fancy making it myself. I can safely say the only thing I was satisfied with was the naan. All meals were bland, lacked flavour and spice. The sheesh kabab had far too much food colouring (it didn’t look like lamb mince!) & spice, the chicken was flooded with oil and was bland. The saag looked like it was just sautéed spinach leaves, instead of it being cooked down to combine. If your looking for an Indian that lacks flavour or you can’t handle too much spice then this is your place, if you want something authentic then try somewhere else.

I ordered 2 curries and some rice. Quality and size was decent. Can't complain.

The food was 1HR and 50MINS late. Misinformation given by Dilraj when this was repeatedly queried. Will never use again.

Late with no explanation. We’re very reasonable and normally accept “we’re really busy sorry” but to be told “yeah it’s coming, it’s coming” and still waiting, don’t like being lied to. Just tell the truth. Will use again just clearly busy tonight.

Food delivered 1 hour late, cold and attempted to deliver to wrong house - when phoned we were told it was left on doorstep in pouring rain - 3rd attempt to deliver my husband went to end of drive to retrieve it from driver before driving off - horrendous service

Popadoms missed from order. Had Biryani for the first time and to be honest - it was a let down. Food wasn't up to the normal great standard I have always raved about.

The food was bland and no flavour to the dishes, they just tasted like a curry base sauce and no spices added. Naan bread and popadoms were stale and raita dip was like water. Other dips in pots purchased were only a quarter full.

Best Indian in reading. Food is alway hot, so tasty! I can't go anywhere else. There service is amazing. Honestly I couldn't fault them. The one thing that I love is there rice is never watery!!! Honestly best place to go.

Order from Dilraj regularly, food is always good quality. On this occasion my order arrived without two items that I’d ordered, but I put this down to them being busy. They weren’t mains so I didn’t bother pursuing it

Food hadn’t arrived after more than 2 hours, rang up and was told it would be at least another 30 minutes, so cancelled. Now its nearly 10pm and I have no dinner 😩 When ordering was told less than 1 hour

We waited 2 hours before calling to chase our order. Took over 10 mins to get through to be told we are busy what do u want us to do? It will be another 25-30 mins, did u want us to cancel?? We get Dilraj regularly and the set meal is great value

The food is tasty and the people polite and friendly. My favourites are the vegetarian dishes, say alli, and bhindi. Like most indian dishes they are oily but very tasty. They also have a lovely butter chicken and shish kebabs. Well worth a try. YUMMY.

Nicest curry we’ve had in a while! Normally I leave quite a bit but actually ate it all tonight! Naan bread was nice and soft and the onion baji was crispy and well flavoured lovely meal

Haven't used this place in probably 10 years but pleased to say it is still as good as ever. Chicken was outstanding quality, tender and not overcooked, good big chunks and clearly freshly cooked. All the dishes ordered were superb, fresh and full of flavour and plenty of it. Great value for money, will definitely be ordering again from this long forgotten take-away. Excellent!
