The food was so amazing, flavour was beautiful the customer service was amazing and because my food was delayed the restaurant gave me a complimentary which I am very grateful for because it tasted delicious so I would like to personally thank the chef and the patient gentleman I spoke to on the phone.

First online order placed, for a takeaway, on Friday 2nd August 2024. Always a little apprehensive when trying a new restaurant for a takeaway, but I have to say that we were very happy with our meal from Bina Tandoori in Caversham, Reading. Our meal was delivered in good time from ordering and was delivered by a staff member from the restaurant, he was very cheerful and polite. The food arrived hot and the portion sizes were good. There were five of us, each ordered a different curry, we all had garlic rice and peshwari naan bread. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food, everything tasted delicious and fresh. Based purely on this, our first experience of Bina Tandoori Caversham, Reading, we will certainly be ordering from them again at some point. Thank you Bina Tandoori, keep up the great work!

One of the few local sunday buffets still operating. A friend and I went here on sunday. Whilst the waiter was a little odd the food really was fantastic. Some of the best Indian food I can remember eating (I've tried most of the local places). Nice selection of curries, excellent onion bhajis and great Naan.

We haven't been to the Bina for some time as it went downhill several years ago. Friends reported that it was now much improved so we decided to try again. Great decision! We had a lovely meal, friendly service and a very pleasant evening. We'll be back.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the Indian Sunday buffet at Bina Tandoori. The food was very tasty. They had Tandoori Wings, Onion Bhajji and some lettuce and mint sauce for starters. Really enjoyed their starters as they were making it fresh and stayed warm and crispy. Mains included plain naan, pilau rice, x3 veg curries, chicken madras, lamb madras, chicken tikka masala, korma and 1 other curry. I couldn't help but notice some areas that could use improvement. One notable concern was the cleanliness of the restaurant. Despite the tasty food, the ambiance was slightly tarnished by the lack of cleanliness, which detracted from the overall dining experience. The buffet area was messy, the floor was filthy with food and rubbish and I was given a very dirty highchair for my toddler, but I had asked to clean it before using it. Maintaining a hygienic environment is crucial for any dining establishment, and I hope to see improvements in this area in the future. Additionally, I encountered difficulties with parking near the restaurant, which added some inconvenience to my visit. Clearer instructions or alternative parking arrangements would undoubtedly enhance the accessibility. Overall, my experience at the Indian Sunday buffet was good, but requires some room for improvement. It would be good, if they could add more items on the buffet option. In conclusion, if you're looking for a flavourful Sunday buffet, it is worth a visit. Just be prepared to overlook some minor flaws for the sake of a memorable dining experience.

Ordered a takeaway for collection. Food was very tasty. Unfortunately something had been missed in the order but the restaurant phoned as soon as they realised, then immediately sent it out for delivery. Bina’s customer focus and delicious food are well worth your money!

Went for dinner last night after several years absence when the word on the street was that quality had dropped. But recently a few friends had said it was good so we gave it a try and we weren’t disappointed. A busy Saturday night and service was good and food was top notch; all 4 of us very happy with our choices. And decently priced. We’ll definitely go again to make sure quality is consistent.

Dear Management of The Bina, I am writing to express my profound disappointment with the dining experience my party and I had at your restaurant on saturday. We had made a reservation in advance, but from the moment we arrived, it was evident that our booking had been overlooked. The restaurant appeared to be fairly busy and short-staffed, resulting in a prolonged delay before anyone acknowledged our presence. It took an exasperating 25 minutes for a waiter to even take our drinks order, and when the glasses arrived, they were dirty. Upon requesting fresh glasses, we were provided with replacements that were warm. Our dissatisfaction continued when our popadoms, ordered at the beginning of our meal, took a staggering 45 minutes to reach our table. Strangely, the table next to us, which arrived after we did, received their popadoms promptly. This inconsistency was both confusing and frustrating. To compound matters, I discovered that my cutlery was dirty, and the staff's reaction to my request for a replacement was less than accommodating. The overall service was disorganized, with staff members rushing around in a manner that was not only unsettling but also posed a safety risk to customers. While the food itself was acceptable, it failed to leave a lasting impression. The dishes were hot and tasty but lacked seasoning, leaving me underwhelmed. The situation reached its low point when the manager approached our table and offered a free drink as a gesture of goodwill, citing it as a standard practice for all customers. This revelation cast doubt on the sincerity of the apology, as it appeared to be a routine, rather than a genuine effort to rectify our disappointing experience. Furthermore, the staff's reaction to our decision not to leave a tip was unprofessional, including a waiter making an inappropriate comment about us requesting a takeaway box. The overall level of service and the various issues we encountered have left me with no intention of ever revisiting The Bina. I hope you take this feedback seriously and consider it an opportunity to address the shortcomings in your establishment's operations.

Absolutely delicious. The restaurant was very busy but the staff were as friendly and prompt as you could wish for. The bill was incredibly reasonable considering the quality of the dinner. A Caversham institution that we’ll be returning to soon.

Used to be the go to place years ago couldn’t get a table on the weekend now it’s dead, it’s a shame the food is well cooked never had an issue price is fair to. Only thing that’s ever held it back was the service long waits when empty and rude staff when really no need….just a please or thank you and I would go back. Went as a group of four spent over 30 quid a head and weren’t treated well there were only two other tables in the restaurant

Great tandoori, very extent menu but best to ask for recommendations and advice. Also, great touch when they brought the warm towels to clean your hands. Would definitely go again. Ordered the bharji (2) and garlic king prawns (4) for starters. Then two mains and a special fried rice. Came to 86£ with 1 beer and 4 glasses of wine. 2£ for 2 poppadoms + 4 dips, which were quite nice but we didn’t finish them (charged).

Despite living in the area for a couple of years, we had never tried Bina before!! We went for the first time yesterday and we loved it. We both had the chicken karahi which came out still sizzling, and it was so delicious and flavourful. Afterwards we were offered some limoncello on the house 🤩 Service was attentive and friendly too, we will definitely be back! The prices were reasonable too. I also thought the free sanitary products in the women’s bathroom was a nice touch.

We were slightly skeptical given overall rating but recent reviews serve this place justice, incredible evening with incredible food at very reasonable prices. This is up there with one of the best Indian restaurants we’ve been to. Well worth a try you won’t be disappointed.

After reading older reviews decided to give it a try and so glad we did - food and service excellent and great value for money. Lovely little touches like sorbet between starter and main and complimentary drink at the end. Will definitely return when I'm in Caversham visiting my daughter

We hadn't been to Bina for a long time because we were disappointed on several occasions with both the food and the service. This evening we tried again and found it to be under new management. It was warm and welcoming. The tables were beautifully set and the staff were well dressed and attentive. The food was excellent, indeed everything was perfect and we really enjoyed the evening. We'll definitely be going back.

After coming back to the bina 5 years later after my 1 ⭐️ review as my friend told me it has changed management and was much better , I thought I would give it a try again. I was very impressed with everything the staff were great very polite and helpful, food was just right and atmosphere was perfect they are much better towards children. The owner was a nice guy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I haven't been to the Bina for years and we decided to stop in spur of the moment for dinner with the kids. We were really pleased with both the food and the service. We had our push bikes with us and the man kindly showed us round to the back to some safe parking and led us past the kitchens to the restaurant. The kitchen staff all said hello and it was all so spotlessly clean and impressive. The toilets were also spotless and generally the whole place felt good. Would recommend.

Our 2nd visit this year. Excellent reception from the staff. As it was Sunday we chose the buffet, very good buffet selection, regularly topped up. A very ejnjoyable experience again. The Sunday buffet was exactly what you would expect from an English style Indian. The food was fresh & tasty. I would recommend all the lamb and vegetarian dishes. The chicken wings were also awesome.

Good selection of chutneys with pappadams and nice to have a separate list of vegetable mains rather than an afterthought. The Vegetable Mirch Masala was extremely tasty but very spicy (I was warned) so perhaps I will downgrade to Razala next time. The aloo gobi was an excellent, well spiced accompaniment and my wife enjoyed the lamb pasanda. Washed down with Lal Toofan lager on draft. Apparently pilao rice is fried in ghee so we had plain since I’m no good with dairy. Really great value at £25/head and we will certainly be back.

Our first time under the new ownership and we were not disappointed as was the case of our one and only visit a good ten years or more ago. Give Bina a try, we were glad we did. The restaurant was clean with an ambient atmosphere, and the varied Sunday buffet was delicious. An added bonus is that Bina is only a ten minute walk from home. Our 'go-to' Indian restaurant now!

First time to the Bina in a while (years) and I was very pleasantly surprised. The new ownership has made Bina great again. The service was excellent, wine list very good and the food was excellent. We all ordered new dishes (from our usual takeaway) and we were blown away. Do visit, you will not be disappointed.

Have been visiting since the late 80's - they've recently had a change of ownership, with some changes for the better (service) but also things which aren't quite as good. Onion Bhaji's now 2 in a portion as opposed to 3. Bombay Aloo which was a stand out, isn't as tasty and lastly the Lamb Bhuna wasn't comparable to past visits. Hopefully tweaks can be made as I'd like it to succeed under the new management. *Thanks for the reply. It's not always possible to speak to a Manager if it's a takeaway / or you're busy when we eat in. Respectfully disagree on the bhaji explanation, having eaten here for 30 years this isn't the case. My comment was on Bombay Aloo, not Aloo Bhaji - Hopefully you can get the previous chef (or his recipes) As mentioned, service was much better as the previous team was largely disinterested for a number of years.

What a gem of a restaurant - people of Caversham (and everywhere!) please go and visit Bina Tandoori. The loveliest and most professional staff and fabulous food. Glasses of wine significantly cheaper than the typical high end bars but even without that, the food speaks for itself. Customers for life (sorry waistline) ❤️

Just had the best Indian Sunday buffet ever, and I've had loads before. Two superb lamb choices, as well as the usual chicken, vegetables, nann, bajee, salad, rice and mint sauce to choose from. We have also eaten from the menu which was also excellent. We have been dinning at the Bina for years, but not towards the end of the previous management's reign. The new management took over in February and have proved really great. Reasonably priced traditional Indian food brilliantly prepared and served. Thoroughly recommended, use it or lose it!

Under new management, WOW... really lovely food, hot , fresh and plenty of it, dishes replaced quickly... As some one mentioned before, I don't mind paying for poppadoms, but bit much for the condiments as well!!! Also the cokes came in a very small glasses now , use to do large/ pints!!... Small things but adds to the cost, and it is now £13.95 a head ... BUT.. is still good value and its a BUFFET.. And the food is soo good, P.s service was great to.. 👍

Returning to Bina Tandoori after their management change was a delightful experience and we are super happy we visited! The exceptional food (highly recommend the King Prawn Nawabi), excellent service and stunning refurbishment has made it truly memorable - cannot wait to visit again. I will be recommending this place to family and friends!

First time coming here after being recommended to me. Food was excellent they know how to do a proper mixed grill that is juicy!! The staff were really accommodating and I have already pre-booked for my mates birthday meal!! Definitely recommend this place.

From time to time I get a takeaway from Bina and the Veg Dansak is always very nice. The staff are friendly and the food is of a good, consistent quality.

Have just got in from an excellent meal at the Bina. Can't understand why there are so many poor reviews and why we were the only customers in there on a Saturday night. We had three different choices of curry and they were all delicious. The naan were also lovely - large, pillowy and hot. We were offered complimentary dessert, coffee or a whisky, which sadly we were too full to accept. The whole meal was reasonably priced and the staff were friendly. It's the first time we had been since the change of management and the refurbishment and we'll be back again.

Bina has been a favourite for many years, but we have not been since pre-Covid. It is as good as ever and the King Prawn Saagwala was fantastic. Service was great too. Will definitely go back soon.

There has been so much improvement from when I went 7 years ago, although it was decent before it has become amazing now! The food is top quality and the environment is so peaceful with the respectful staff members , I love it and I go every week now!

Went there with my family and it was just so peaceful in there. The environment and setting of the restaurant is spacious which we enjoyed after a crazy week! The food I must say was delicious and affordable.

Update 21/05/2023. We went here for the Sunday buffet today. Service was really nice. The staff were nice and friendly, and communication was great. Food was nice and hot and was topped up while we were there. Buffet menu needs to be changed. The staff came to let us know the the curries were topped. I was impressed. I asked if they were under new management and they replied 'YES'. No wonder things were improved from the last time we were there. We were given a £10 off voucher. Overall, good experience today. Updates The Sunday buffet was nice. It would be nice if the menu was changed ever so often or once in a while. Update 07/08/2022. We went here today for the buffet, food wasn't fresh. Naan bread was not replaced and the ones in the pot were dry. The service was poor. The young guy who took our payment was so miserable. After paying, he just slammed the receipt on the top. We said thank you and no response. Rude staff. Anyway, it will be a long time before we come here again.

We ordered tandoori king prawn and aubergine curry with some Rice and naan. Was really disappointed with the quality. prawn was over cooked burnt. Aubergine was far too oily.

Pleasant food in buffet selection; wasn't aware that the poppadoms and pickles provided were at additional cost. While they were not phenominally expensive, it would have been good to have had a choice! Otherwise, service and atmosphere were good.

Not good for food and enjoyments

Minging takeaway from here - very disappointing. Prawn patia was delivered as chicken and all sauce no chicken; chicken dansak really poor and not like any previous dansak. Avoid.

Top quality food. Everything tastes fresh. Naan bread is the best I’ve had anywhere. Staff friendly, not ridiculously priced either. Spacious and comfortable restaurant. They have live acts some evenings too, such as Elvis tribute etc. Would recommend as a great place to go with mates or partner.

A brilliant Indian restaurant that has stood the test of time in Reading. Ate here in mid June 2021, very warm welcome from staff, beautifully cooked food, spotlessly clean and very good value. Highly recommend, especially the Karahi Tandoori dishes

Ventured back to the Bina after a round of golf locally and they did not disappoint. Is great to be able to eat out again after all the various lockdowns although I have also ordered the occasional takeaway from them which is always good.Poppadoms and dips were excellent as usual and I ordered the Chicken Rogon as didn't want to go too spicy on this visit. Sauce was just right, with plenty of flavour and the plain naan was excellent and piping hot when served. Service was quick & efficient and would I visit again without hesitation. Recommended, many thanks.

Bina is a Reading institution which has really stood the test of time, and for good reason. We were greeted with a warm welcome and shown to a table. Excellent attention to necessary covid precautions made us feel safe. We ordered two Karahi dishes and brinjal bhajee (spiced aubergines). Service was excellent, we had some poppadoms to start with 3 chutneys and an onion salad. The main course was delicious, large chunks of tender meat and poultry, with a good balance of spices and chargrilled vegetables. The aubergine was the star of the show, I could eat this gorgeous dish as a main, it went very well with the garlic naan too. Highly recommend trying Bina if you haven't already (parking at the nearby Chester St car park was easy and low cost in the eves).

I live in Caversham and was thinking to try it every time I walked past this restaurant and finally did on my Birthday in weekend. I am not sure about non vegetarian dishes which were myriad in Menu , I ordered vegetarian dishes from few options available. The boxes of the paneer masala and Okra were already leaking with oil but still thought the taste must be good for dishes prepared in so much oil. I was shocked as even the taste was not at all good and seemed like I made a big mistake. Had to throw the remaining in the bin, pics show the oil in sabji.

Ordered a takeaway on NYE and whilst the wait was very long (they were rushed off their feet) the food was DELICIOUS. Best Indian food in the area.

A reliable and good quality Indian/Bangladeshi restaurant and takeaway (also on Deliveroo). Friendly waiters, who even gave me a red rose on one visit. A good selection of traditional dishes, other varieties, and sides. A smart restaurant, with white table cloths & serving trolleys. Food is tasty & fresh.

I love Bina Tandoori. Food is exceptional quality and full of flavour. Staff are pleasant and helpful. As for price, I think the price matched the quality of the food. My go to Indian.

Ordered takeaway at 5:30pm for delivery for 7:15pm. After waiting 20 minutes past delivery time, we decided to call the restaurant to find out what was going on. They made up multiple excuses and tried arguing with us with no apology! Eventually when it did arrive 30 minutes late, the food was lukewarm, completely tasteless and very oily. I have never had such a bad Indian take away before!

I was really looking forward to my lockdown takeaway as the restaurant was highly recommended. To start I had the Chicken Momo which is usually similar to a dumpling. This was little bits of chicken and spices wrapped in a puri or maybe paratha but was quite stodgy and greasy. I was then disappointed by the boring biryani (BB). The chicken tikka was dry and there wasn’t a single vegetable in the rice as is the norm. I asked for aloo brinjal (potato with aubergine) as the vegetable curry accompaniment but they wouldn’t do that so I opted for aloo gobi (potato and cauliflower) which was very average. Judging by the food I’ve so far experienced, I’m afraid I wouldn’t waste my time and money eating here when lockdown is over.

Food is ok, but nothing special. Unfortunately, the main reason you should avoid this place is due to the absolutely terrible service. Waiters didn't know what to do and there was no sense of urgency whatsoever. For this reason I would recommend trying somewhere else in the area.

The food was nice, but the staff are rude and not friendly. They have also added charges to our bills, and we had to query the charges.

El servicio era terrible, esperamos 20 minutos por un menú. Tuvimos que ir a buscarlo nosotros mismos. Larga espera para tomar el pedido y una espera aún más larga para la comida. Larga espera por la factura. No querían que nos fuéramos. Dos horas y media para un curry y una copa. Los Poppadum's eran condimentos blandos, rancios y caros. La comida era normal, el Tesco del armario refrigerado no habría sido mucho peor. No he estado muy decepcionado en 10 años, es poco probable que regrese.

Reservado para una comida familiar el lunes. Me dijeron al hacer la reserva que cierran a las 14:30, así que reservamos para las 13:00. El camarero tomó el pedido inicial de bebidas y poppadoms. Tomó una hora para luego volver a tomar nuestro pedido principal. La comida era buena, sin embargo, se sirvieron 2 pedidos separados de parrilla mixta Tandoori en un plato. Parecía incómodo que se les pidiera que los pusieran en platos separados. 3 de los platos principales tandoori vinieron con ensalada, solo se sirvió un plato de ensalada que era mucho más pequeño que si se hubiera servido en 3 porciones separadas según lo pedido.Nos trajeron el menú del postre después de que habíamos terminado, pero el camarero no volvió a preguntar si queríamos pedir algo. Después de 40 minutos tuvimos que ir y pedirles que tomaran nuestro pedido. Trajeron postres y café, pero faltaba un café.El camarero no parecía tener ni idea. Solo había otra pareja en el restaurante en ese momento. Para ser honesto, podría haber dejado que el problema del servicio se resolviera, pero al pagar, el gerente nos criticó por quedarse demasiado tiempo y debían volver a abrir a las 17:00. ! ! Eran las 16:20 en este punto. ¡Ninguno de mi grupo había planeado pasar toda la tarde allí esperando! Si el servicio hubiera sido decente como en cualquier otro lugar, ¡habríamos terminado alrededor de las 14:30! ! !Quejarnos de que nos habíamos quedado más tiempo cuando el servicio era tan pobre y lento nos ha molestado a todos y no volveremos. ¡No culpes a los clientes por tu incompetencia!
