Foods great, if you ever get it. Given up on delivery so went to collect and they didn't have the order..

Useless don't even answer phone but just realised they have closed. What happened? Gonna miss it

The food us usually very good but this evening the bag had clearly been dropped and the cartons exploded either one big mess in a plastic bag. It shouldn't have been delivered in that condition. I tried to contact the restaurant by email but the link is not connected

Have had 2 takeaways from here now. Absolutely wonderful food. Food arrives hot and within the estimated time. Would highly recommend.

The food is consistently delicious and the service very friendly - we’ve been having a family take away from here all through lockdown and we look forward to it every week.

Decided to have a taste of india tonight from Guru Tandori. We have ordered on many occasions and the meal has been enjoyable and hot on delivery. Sadly tonight was not up to expectations,the Special Biryani did not have one King prawn in the dish and was lacking other meat. Sorry to complain,

Qué vergüenza, la comida es buena, pero cuando has comido la mayor parte y luego encuentras un cabello negro y áspero cocido en el arroz cuando nadie en nuestra casa tiene cabello de esa naturaleza, te desanima un poco. No volveré a ordenar porque es simplemente imperdonable.

Chilli chicken masala wasn't chilli chicken. The raita was just plain yoghurt and the butter chicken was so sickly sweet and overly creamy it was almost inedible - half of it was thrown away. How can you get all 3 dishes wrong? The chicken was also cut into long strips and was overcooked. I'm so disappointed in the meal provided and would not recommend this place to anyone. £20+ down the drain. **update** I went to bed with a very high temperature and cough last night. luckily the cough has almost disappeared this morning but the temperature remains. I am appalled with the experience I've had from this restaurant.

Been here before but yesterday is the last time. I ordered Butter Chicken and never tasted a curry so sweet! It was like they put a whole bucket of sugar in this curry! I ordered Halwa Puri from elsewhere and this curry was more sweeter than that! Never again. Used to love this place but that's the final straw. £10 down the drain :( Dont bother. Let's see if they respond to this review!

I have ordered from guru multiple times now. There is an amazing selection of food and it always arrives in about 20 minutes. I eat a vegan diet and can easily find food that accommodates to my needs. Favourite Indian in Reading!

Sorry guys I've always loved your food. But today I ordered chicken tikka masala and I have to say it was awful!! The meat was burned & stringy and the sauce was coarse tasteless and seemed as though it had sand in it!!!

First time order and was very pleasantly surprised, great meal, the chicken biryani dish was huge (more than 1 person could eat) and really very good, the kid had chicken korma and said it was very tasty, the breads are fresh and hot, will definitely use again.

I've been ordering from the Guru Tandoori for years but never again. They now have someone manning the phones who barely speaks English and they are consistently late with deliveries. Such a disappointment

I am from Bradford and moving to the south has been a curry nightmare i honestly can't recommend any place in all of Reading, although this place is probably the closest to a proper Yorkshire curry i could find. Keema dishes aren't on the menu (as it isn't at most southern curry houses, which is odd because it is on the menu everywhere up north and popular) however if you ask they can make it.

Hadn't tried this takeaway before but it had good reviews so thought I'd give it a try. The sheek kebab is spicier than normally expected but that suits me fine and the yoghurt sauce is nicely spiced too. They give you free chicken wings, but I'm afraid to say I didn't like those at all and they've got very little meat on them. The keema rice is good, and instead of giving you as much rice as main dish, it's portioned well with less rice meaning you can eat all the main (in two sittings, I don't have a big appetite. That with the rice also making just the right amount so you're not left having eaten all the main and still having lots of rice leftover. The first time I had a delivery I had the naga lamb which is usually really hot, but this was reasonably hot but not as hot as I'm used to. So the next time I had the jalfrezi and that was really hot and had me sweating which was fantastic!! Although the naga lamb was not so hot you could really taste the fruitiness of the naga chillies which I really liked. I'm eagerly waiting to try their phall next time as I do like that. Being in the university area they have discounts for students if you have a student card, which I don't, I'm far too old lol. Delivery is always quicker than average and they send you a text to let you know when the driver has left, nice touch, the drivers are really friendly too.

Fantastic and extremely tasty. My first time using them and I shall certainly be going back every time I want a delicious curry! The naga lamb wasn't as hot as other naga curries I've had, but the flavour more than makes up for that. You can really taste the fruitiness of the naga chillies without it blowing your head off - I do like it hot. I'll try their phall and jalfrezi next and see how hot they are. Delivery was fast, even though I'd been given an adjusted delivery time, they still arrived well before the initial delivery time I was given. The text sent to let me know they were on the way was an unexpected surprise, and the delivery driver was very friendly.

Never again from the Guru. Horrible food and the don't give you free items for spending over £15. Very poor delivery and broken promises.

Almost the best takeaway in Reading

Tasty Indian takeaway. Cheaper then nearby alternative. We had a very nice byriani. The poppadom could be nicer. We collect in person and took only 15 minutes from ordering to collection, snappy.

Ordered a takeaway couple of weeks back for the family on a Friday evening. Yes, can be relied on food delivery timings and reasonable quality. For spice lovers, don't expect it too spicy and set your expectations low in case you are expecting authentic Indian food.

Takeaway delivery was ordered at 8pm but wasn't delivered until 9.45pm. Very poor

My wife ordered a takeaway at 8pm on a Saturday night and it took until 9.45pm for it be delivered. We chased them twice and got a 20% discount out of them. Won't be using them again!

Have been eating from here for a number of years and always find the food excellent & hot when delivered, the service friendly and delivery times are good. Always impressed with the chef/house specials too.

Beautiful curries just as they should be, delicious naan, great price, good speed delivery. We were big fans and will definitely get another!

food came 10 mins later than the maximum time shown, we asked for hot biriyanis but the biriyani was bland in taste and wasnt spicy but the side curry was hot, not the best tasting.. also it said two side dishes free if over £20 orders which we mentioned but not honoured, when I rang the restaurent they said offer onlyapplicable mon-thurs, which not said in the just eat website.. not the best dining experience , will not order again from this place,

Food was amazing - I think the onion's bhajis may have been the best I've ever had, really nice texture and much thicker than most I've had before. Delivery time was okay but naan wasn't very hot when arrived - probably because I ordered on a friday night though. Would recommend :)

Pedimos platos vegetarianos Indian gurú Tandoori desde hace dos semanas. Fue entregado rápidamente, las raciones eran buenas (pedí acompañamientos y era lo suficientemente bueno para 2 personas) y la comida era decente, pero la TADKA daal y tanto los curries estaba goteando con aceite. Lo que es la razón por la que no ordenados de ellos desde entonces. No me puedo quejar, porque he pagado realmente cacahuetes por un montón de comida. Quizás llámales y solicitar al chef a ser menos generosos con aceite porque eran un 'corazón paciente' ; -) Merece la pena un tiro, aunque!
