Awesome food. Excellent service from Adeline and team. Felt like I was in India. Will definitely come back again and again.

It’s my go to place for samosa & chai. Always love coming back to this place! Updating my review - the quality of the food has really gone down now. Sandwich was too bland, wrap was too spicy and sev puri was below average.

Loved the food here. Every item i had is super yum. Loved the service and hospitality by Janvi and Adelin. For some reason, vada pavs taste better than that of Hounslow SKVP. And definitely Teading SKVP is more spacious. Must recommended.

Actually I came from Coventry to visit my sister and we came here for have a chat and the food is so amazing and the best part is their famous vada pav and really super and thanks for jaanviii for service.

How are they still open? The food was terrible, with no sense of taste. Who puts raw capsicum and onion in a dosa?! They seriously need to update their menu, staff, and cook if they want to stay in business.

Everything was great! The staff is very kind and helpful.

Food is a mix experience at times it’s good at times it’s ok. The quality has gone a notch down since it started and it could be due to the high popularity. Service can certainly be improved as there is only one person running around taking orders and serving customers plus fulfilling online orders hence you face some delays during lunch and diner hours.

I think words are not enough to explain how good the food was! Just not food but also the ambience and staff (Adlin) totally made our experience worth visiting Reading.

I just order the food and i received the food too late . They are taking 50 minutes to make the order and after 50 min they are giving me the half order first and rest of the food after 20 minutes when we just standing from the seat. Everytime , they are making the excuses. Please, look at the service and food quality so that the customer can come next time on your store , if things happened i will never tell anyone to go the store to purchase any stuff .

SKVP has a really good ambience with a Bollywood theme and is spacious too.. however a little bit disappointed with service and food.. With just 3/4 customers also there was a delay and dish was appearing in installments 😄 .. We had pav bhaji tasting good amongst all other dishes but the quantity of bhaji was less and sufficient for 1.25 pav ... Dabheli was just a stuffing inside pav with no garnishing and tasting average.. Samosa chat received without smashed and it was plain in taste .. Mango lassi was frozen bottle.. Chai not up to the mark .. SKVP is preferred due to veg tag.. I have tasted same dishes in Karak Chai and ammy kitchen was far better ... Pls take this review for suggestions will visit again in few months 👋

It was clear that the vegetables were spoiled, and instead of using fresh ingredients, they just froze old leftovers and reheated them. The texture was mushy, and the taste was downright offensive. The pav (bread) was stale and dry, like it had been sitting out for days. The fact that they serve reheated, spoiled food is absolutely shocking. It’s not just lazy—it’s downright disrespectful to customers. Save your money and your taste buds; this place is a culinary nightmare. I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy. **0/10 – Never ordering again.**

Food quality is not so great compared to hounslow branch.

Food is ok. Vada pav is good. We had vada pav, sabudana vada, papdi chat and gazar halwa. Halwa was not good, papdi chat was okiesh, sabudana vada was undercooked. We were served by Agni who was thoroughly nice and professional.

Had a great impromptu meal with my wife and toddler, who was entranced by the Bollywood videos. Agni helped gave fast efficient service and steered the toddler away from spicy food

Very nice food. Attendant Priya was very helpful. Only thing is that they should work on is improving the app and coverage especially when they prefer ordering using bar code as it gets difficult to order sitting inside with limited coverage. Food is amazing though so we don't mind 😋

Frustrating Wait, Poor Communication – Not Worth the Hassle! I had a very disappointing experience with this restaurant’s takeaway service. I was told my order would be ready in 10–15 minutes, but I ended up waiting for 35 minutes. After 15 minutes, I was informed that one of my dishes—an Indo-Chinese item—takes longer to prepare, something they failed to mention earlier. Most of the other items were ready within 15–20 minutes, yet I was left waiting due to their poor communication. I understand that delays can happen during busy times, but the staff should have been upfront about it instead of repeatedly saying, “It will be ready in 5 minutes.” To make matters worse, I wasn’t the only one facing this issue—another customer was also stuck in a similar situation, frustrated by the misleading wait times. This lack of honesty and proper time management was unacceptable. If they had given a realistic estimate from the start, I could have planned accordingly. This experience makes me hesitant to order from here again, and I hope they improve their service and respect customers’ time.

Tuve una experiencia muy decepcionante con el servicio de comida para llevar de este restaurante. Me dijeron que mi pedido estaría listo en 10-15 minutos, pero terminé esperando durante 35 minutos. Después de 15 minutos, me informaron que uno de mis platos —un indo —artículo chino— tarda más en prepararse, algo que no mencionaron antes. La mayoría de los otros artículos estaban listos en 15-20 minutos, sin embargo, me quedé esperando debido a su mala comunicación. Entiendo que los retrasos pueden ocurrir durante los momentos ocupados, pero el personal debería haber sido franco al respecto en lugar de decir repetidamente: “Estará listo en 5 minutos”. Para empeorar las cosas, no fui el único que enfrentó este problema: otro cliente también se vio atrapado en una situación similar, frustrado por los tiempos de espera engañosos. Esta falta de honestidad y de gestión adecuada del tiempo era inaceptable. Si hubieran dado una estimación realista desde el principio, podría haberlo planeado en consecuencia. Esta experiencia me hace dudar en volver a pedir desde aquí, y espero que mejoren su servicio y respeten el tiempo de los clientes.

The food at SKVP was fantastic, and Priya was a warm and friendly host who took great care of us, making our visit even more enjoyable.

Placed a Click & Collect order 40 minutes in advance, with the app confirming it would be ready in 20 minutes. Upon arrival, the staff had no record of my order and were completely indifferent about the issue. No attempt to resolve it or offer an apology—just a lack of basic customer service. On top of that, the food quality has significantly deteriorated over time. SKVP really needs to improve staff training, fix app issues, and focus on maintaining food quality. Disappointing experience overall!

Shocking. This place going down hill. Most dishes unavailable on the menu at 8.30pm. Asked for misal Pav, oh we don't have Pav. Order anything without Pav. Masala chai, oh we run out. Sabudana wada-they didn't have that either. Order hakka noodles, waited half hour and our dine order was sat on the counter packed as Takeway. The bald scar head guy only realised when I asked about my order. Then just brings the box over to me to eat. Asked for plates, they ran out of plates too. I asked him if they are closing down for good. Just nodded his head "no" and walked off. Only the Hounslow SKVP is a better place out of all SKVPs. Reading is run by Mickey Mouse. Don't bother. Let down on far too many occasions. They way it's going, nothing will be available on the menu.

Heating was not working and it was a total inconvenience to dine in- Shaking and shivering ! When asked, the staff was very lethargic, and didn't seem to be bothered much about it, said that they have been experiencing heating issues . Food order took longer than the promised time. Noodles were not available although it was there in the menu and I had to order something else. 10 minutes I can see Noodles being served for another customer at the next table. Totally a pathetic experience , couldn't appreciate the food even a bit amidst all these.

But I guess that's how they keep their prices down, so I'm not mad. Now to the main event.. vada pau 10!! Everything was great apart from their dosage ( a bit soggy but still good taste). Dai puri was 🔥 golgappe... ehhhh okay.. That didn't hit me as bad as the ice cream with gulab jamuns. If I order ice cream, I expect a scoop at least. My guy gave me what looked like ice cream that was scooped with a teaspoon! Lol Overall, 100% recommend 👍

We have been here several times but this place is deteriorating. Service has gone tremendously bad. More than 40 minutes wait time to receive the first item. Waiters and managers have no customer service approach when you follow up for the remaining order at the counter. They will give lame excuses or an 'I don't care ' attitude. The quality of food has gone down too. The potato stuffing inside the bread pakoda was full of turmeric. Masala tea was pale and maggie had so much excess water. Deserves a minus five.

What a little fantastic place! We visited this restaurant with my family who had been recommending it to us for so long, I'm pleased we finally made it in. The quality has gone down since we visited last about 3 months ago. The masala chai tasted very pale, the potato mash in the vada pao was rather dry and one can barely swallow it. You could almost taste the turmeric from the vada. Would steer away from this place now.

We have been to the Reading branch about 5 times now.The service has been consistently good. The staff are always willing to take a quick moment for a little chat, offer suggestions, answer questions about the food with patience and are serving with a smile. That is matched up with the authentic food and complemented by a buzzing saffron themed ambiance, an eclectic mix of Bollywood, Bombay and all things quintessentially desi. The food always hits the spot, some of the favourites include vada pav, pav bhaji,veg cheese grilled sandwich and samosas. While the food tastes just as delicious across branches, I do prefer this branch over the others (Hounslow /Slough) in terms of service, seating space and overall customer experience. I hope they keep up the good work.

Me and my friends visited today. I ordered the famous vada pav, and what I felt was, the proportions of turmeric were on the higher side and could smell it. Onion bhaji could have more carom seeds and more julienne cut onions rather than gram flour.

I am a resident of the civilized cities of Punenagari and Croydon in Greater London. Had the opportunity to visit SKVP Reading today. All were good but it seemed that the price of turmeric in England may have fallen at the moment as it seemed that turmeric has been bombarded with vada pav. It is God's will to take notice of this immediately

The most delicious Indian food in Reading! Amazing value for money and friendly service. We ordered takeaway and food was delicious and still hot when we got it home. Lovely to have so much choice for vegetarian and vegan food.

AVOID THIS RESTAURANT.I ordered 4 vegetable grilled sandwiches,a masala chai,it was good but can be improved it had little to no chutney. Now the service was utterly appalling I was waiting for 25 minutes and the lady there didn't do anything, the chai which took no time I had to go ask for it and the Vada pav which would have took no more than 10 minutes. The lady there was rude and acted like she didn't care i had to ask her 8 times for her to care.everytime she would say"it's getting ready". I would have given 0 star but had to give one as that is the minimum I can give to post the review. The service is beyond terrible!!!

There is this girl called Adlin working there, she is amazing and such a sweet person. I would definitely go there next time and eat Vada Pav and Chilly Paneer, but I have to be served by Adlin, she is so nice and she wears glasses.
