Butter vada pav was awesome! Masala chai is flavourful.

Nice and cosy feeling of India excellent decor made me feel like eating in India.

They killed it with the ambiance! Price was budget friendly too. Service is over the counter which I found could be better if you can order stuff and pay at the end of your meal. But I guess that's how they keep their prices down, so I'm not mad. Now to the main event.. vada pau 10!! Everything was great apart from their dosage ( a bit soggy but still good taste). Dai puri was 🔥 golgappe... ehhhh okay.. That didn't hit me as bad as the ice cream with gulab jamuns. If I order ice cream, I expect a scoop at least. My guy gave me what looked like ice cream that was scooped with a teaspoon! Lol Overall, 100% recommend 👍

We have been here several times but this place is deteriorating. Service has gone tremendously bad. More than 40 minutes wait time to receive the first item. Waiters and managers have no customer service approach when you follow up for the remaining order at the counter. They will give lame excuses or an 'I don't care ' attitude. The quality of food has gone down too. The potato stuffing inside the bread pakoda was full of turmeric. Masala tea was pale and maggie had so much excess water. Deserves a minus five.

What a little fantastic place! We visited this restaurant with my family who had been recommending it to us for so long, I'm pleased we finally made it in. A great selection of authentic delicious food! I wish I could have eaten more. Great value for money too. I will certainly be back next time we are in Reading! Thank you 😊

The quality has gone down since we visited last about 3 months ago. The masala chai tasted very pale, the potato mash in the vada pao was rather dry and one can barely swallow it. You could almost taste the turmeric from the vada. Would steer away from this place now.

Me and my friend had the paneer bombs with pistachio ice cream and they were a perfect combination! The paneer bombs were so flavourful. Chandu was especially kind and helpful.

It's a great place for Indian street food with good quality and great taste

We have been to the Reading branch about 5 times now.The service has been consistently good. The staff are always willing to take a quick moment for a little chat, offer suggestions, answer questions about the food with patience and are serving with a smile. That is matched up with the authentic food and complemented by a buzzing saffron themed ambiance, an eclectic mix of Bollywood, Bombay and all things quintessentially desi. The food always hits the spot, some of the favourites include vada pav, pav bhaji,veg cheese grilled sandwich and samosas. While the food tastes just as delicious across branches, I do prefer this branch over the others (Hounslow /Slough) in terms of service, seating space and overall customer experience. I hope they keep up the good work.

I am a resident of the civilized cities of Punenagari and Croydon in Greater London. Had the opportunity to visit SKVP Reading today. All were good but it seemed that the price of turmeric in England may have fallen at the moment as it seemed that turmeric has been bombarded with vada pav. It is God's will to take notice of this immediately

Me and my friends visited today. I ordered the famous vada pav, and what I felt was, the proportions of turmeric were on the higher side and could smell it. Onion bhaji could have more carom seeds and more julienne cut onions rather than gram flour.

AVOID THIS RESTAURANT.I ordered 4 vegetable grilled sandwiches,a masala chai,it was good but can be improved it had little to no chutney. Now the service was utterly appalling I was waiting for 25 minutes and the lady there didn't do anything, the chai which took no time I had to go ask for it and the Vada pav which would have took no more than 10 minutes. The lady there was rude and acted like she didn't care i had to ask her 8 times for her to care.everytime she would say"it's getting ready". I would have given 0 star but had to give one as that is the minimum I can give to post the review. The service is beyond terrible!!!

There is this girl called Adlin working there, she is amazing and such a sweet person. I would definitely go there next time and eat Vada Pav and Chilly Paneer, but I have to be served by Adlin, she is so nice and she wears glasses.

We had delicious Indian Street food. Agni looked after us well.

I went there today to try vada pav , at 9:40 I went inside and they said they are close , I unfair as I travelled from Wokingham just eat but and they don’t have manners to talk + if they say it closes at 10 than it means 10 not at 9:40.

After years of being faithful and satisfied customer. I had a really bad experience today. I placed an order through bar code scan at the table 10 in Reading. After waiting for 30 minutes when no one showed up, I asked the counter. They denied having received any order. I showed them the bank transactions still they refused to acknowledge. They were asking me for the order number. It never showed up on browser. The message just said, ‘Sit back and relax’. Since this had worked in the past, I had no reason to believe that I would be asked for order number (if it is displayed at all) to prove that I had ordered Yes these things can happen. But you’d expect a more mature response from someone running the business Update: I did receive a phone call from someone from the establishment. I explained what had happened. The caller was sympathetic but ultimately there was no action. Very disappointing.

We came here just after a trip to India... missing all the flavours of Goa and Kerala. Our server Saloni was wonderful, the service was prompt and the food and masala chai was delicious. We had a couple of masala dosas which were done to perfection. The aloo filling wasn't quite as flavourful as I remembered, but I'd been told by friends that this is an inevitable consequence of getting your spices imported from thousands of miles away... The dosa itself was so flavourful and crispy, and not too oily... Just perfect. Well done everyone serving and cooking. This is going to become a regular visit for me now :)

Delicious food and chai. Come back from a holiday to Kerala, India and wanted some authentic street food and was not disappointed. Saloni was pleasant and got everything to us in good time.

Tried this location for the first time. Food is authentic mumbai street food for those nostalgic about Mumbai College canteen food. The service was also very good. Saloni took our order and was prompt with table service. Location is a bit hard to get to if you’re driving, nearest car parking is at queens road car park or the Oracle

The food was good, but the service was an absolute let down. The girl with glasses that takes orders and handles service has such bad attitude towards customers and just throws bills and food on the table rather than politely keeping it. The faces made by her were a topic of discussion amongst not just us but also the tables around us. The attitude is like she's doing the customers a favor by serving us. We have sworn by SKVP in the UK and were regular customers but we will now think twice about visiting this branch. The cooks and other staff members were much more polite and warm than this girl that's on the front desk. The food was really good.
