The best restaurants in North West

Nipped in for some coffee and cake, both were delicious. The place is spotless and the staff are very friendly. My piece of vegan cake was very generous in size, and it tasted lovely. The only slight negative was that I wanted to pay in cash and they only took card payments. I know a lot of places seem to be going that way, but I prefer to pay cash when I go out. This would not stop me visiting again though as it was so good.

Awesome place. You can really taste the quality of the food. If you haven’t tried their loaded fries they are a must try. Really enjoy the food here

Visited early evening, on Wednesday’s 9 & 16 October. Great selection of cask ales, from light to dark. Very friendly staff and customers. Had a couple of pints, and would’ve had one more but for train cancellations

Came here for lunch for first time and impressed with menu choice and prices . Very reasonable , we both had lamb kebabs potatoes and salad . Everything was delicious and freshly cooked . Service very efficient . Only comment was the chairs were a bit hard and maybe a cushion would be comfier Would come again for brunch

Was recommended by a friend, looked online for opening times said 10am - 4:45 pm so drove quite a way there to get lunch. When I got there the sign on the door said closed but several workers were inside so went to the door to ask what time they open? They said they we’re closed today and seemed shocked I had turned up to buy lunch ! I said it says you’re open online and showed my phone and they seemed confused but not apologetic. It’s a shame as food looks nice if I was allowed to buy it ! 🫤

Utterly scrumptious menu...there's quite literally nothing I wouldn't eat time after time! The whole staff are all so welcoming and warm - and committed to providing a top rate service. It's always wonderful to see how busy this local cafe is - showing how much of a treasure it has become in our landscape! Truly embodies the best of what it means to be a 'family business' and in my opinion will always beat any rival 'chain' cafe! On busy days, or around lunchtime, it's always worth a quick phonecall in case they're really busy....but I think the wait is so worth it!

We stayed here for two nights in April and had an amazing stay. The room was perfectly appointed and had all the amenities needed. It was a very comfortable bed. The food was amazing ! Excellent!!! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a beautiful hotel to stay in the Lake District. The staff are very attentive, and will be there for anything you may need. This hotel exudes five star luxury.

I had a wonderful experience at Kingsway Lounge! The food was absolutely delicious—the palak paneer was rich and flavourful, and the garlic naan and pilau rice were perfect accompaniments. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. I also love that they organise events that celebrate Indian culture, adding an extra touch of immersion and fun. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy authentic flavours and a warm, welcoming atmosphere!
