If you can pre order I would advise it cos the service is the slowest I have ever experienced. It was pretty standard. Fish was dry not to greasy. Chips were alright. The gravy was amazing. If you like it thick I recommend. I would come back as the prices are really good and the gravy was amazing. Just would pre order next time.

Excellent traditional English fish and chips. The food was delicious and tasty and the staff was attentive, friendly and helpful. Great service all around and excellent customer satisfaction. I was hungry and popped in yesterday for sausage and chips. Tasted it in the car and ended up finishing it right then and there because it was so delicious. The girls there are always nice and friendly too. 👊🏾⭐❤🙏🏿🇯🇲

There's a reason why people are always queuing outside the door at this fish & chip shop..the food is delicious! The food is freshly cooked, not greasy at all with the fish being pure white gold with thin delicious crispy batter. The chips are excellent and the peas are hearty and thick rather mushy peas ensuring there's more peas than water. The staff are polite, respectful and chatty. £13 for 2 large fish, chips and peas is an absolute bargain considering the portion size and in. terms of value, it's hard to find a better place to eat. Overall, excellent value for such high quality and delicious food!

Great service and staff. Excellent food and I go regularly. If you've never tried it, I suggest you do. Small English chippy and great prices. Still a great place for food. Update: prices have gone up a bit, due to the government guidelines on plastic and polystyrene use. But still worth going and great staff. The food is good too....

We go to Oxford street quite often, the food is brilliant but the last 2 times in 10 days has been a disappointment, good hour before closing and there’s no chips ready keeping customer out the door waiting, went again and they had ran out of chips again, don't get it !! it’s a fish n chip shop.

Called today for the 1st time after reading the reviews . Ordered 2 large fish,rag pudding ,chips n gravy ,all excellent n tasty at reasonable cost . Deffo going back Just to note this chippy is cash only

Great traditional English chippy, fantastic food and friendly staff. Just be aware that they run out of stuff as it gets close to closing time. They are currently turning the friers off 15 mins before closing, understandably, trying to save money on utilities.

I've visited once a fortnight for years to collect chippy tea for myself and my elderly Mother, rag pudding is her favourite and fish is her second favourite so we alternate the order each visit and it's always top notch; the owner and his staff are the best, long may they continue.

Been here a few times and is a really good chippy, everything that we have had has been excellent. Update - I don't know if this place has been taken over by new owners or not but the food on my last couple of visits has seriously declined in quality, the fish was very greasy - in fact my son and I couldn't taste the fish for the taste of the grease and both of the fish ended up in the bin as they were unedible, the gravy that used to be gorgeous was pretty poor, the chips were almost cold and on both occasions the staff didn't pay attention and missed out part of the orders! It's such a shame as this was the best chip shop around.

Great food but always check your order. Twice I've got home and found my meat pie missing.

If this isn't the best chippy in the area I'll eat my hat, except I wouldn't have room as the portions are pretty good too, well worth a visit !

Very over priced I asked for few chips and one spoonful of peas and they wanted to charge me £2.50 safe to say I told them to forget it ! Would not go again better chippys out there for cheaper prices and better quality ! I only had a rag pudding which wasn’t great neither !

Enjoyed my chips meat pie and gravy. The staff were courteous, professional and friendly. The place is clean and mmm the smell of food hits you when you walk in. I have used this Chippy a few times and have never been disappointed. Highly Recommend

Great traditional fish and chips - fish cooked to perfection with crispy batter done in vegetable oil. Also, they offer rag pudding (steamed steak pudding) which is a nice alternative too. Friendly staff and not too long a wait considering they cook fish fresh and the chips are always lovely too. Look out for lunchtime meal deals. All highly recommended.

Probably the best chippy in the area. Fantastic fish, English curry, proper rag pudding. Staff are great and really friendly. I've just had the home made cheese and onion pie and it is absolutely fantastic. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Wow...it's the best chippy in the area and it's English.

Really a fantastic chippy. Chips wonderful texture and incredible taste. Rag puddings great, homemade cheese pie sometimes is incredible. Only gripe is I'd prefer the batter to be a bit more airy and light, but thats nit-picking. Best chippy for miles around.

A really excellent fish, chips and gravy. Staff were friendly and restaurant was very traditional, clean and nice. I was made to drive 10 minutes to get this by my sister-in-law, but it was definitely worth it. I will be going back soon.

Great local chippy serving all the classics, also does cheese and onion pie and beans which I highly recommend.

Don't go if only the girls are working because they can't cook, last night burnt batter so fish was dry and overdone, chips greasy and mostly scrapings. If I was allowed to stay in the chippy after placing the order I would have refused it. Oh and there's no way the fish were large, which I'd ordered.

Nice fish & chips. Hot & tasty. Bit of a wait as only one person inside at a time. Don't know if the delay was caused by an earlier rush (we got there at 6pm) or bad planning in pre-preparation

Not visited this chip shop for a few months and thought I'd call in for a small portion of fish & chips - When I arrived it was empty so I walked in and what I assume was the manager as he seems to do all the frying, stated rather abruptly, there are others waiting you'll have to wait outside, as I said there was no queue - Either way there was no need to be so curt as manners cost nothing.Will definitely not be rushing back as rudeness is unacceptable.

Very good customer service. Traveled from Hyde to order and when arrived back home we were missing a fish from our order. (Mistakes happen) Went back so problem could be rectified and the staff were very apologetic and went above and beyond to put right the error so thank you. Food was excellent as well.
