Ordered from here a few times now, given them chances of rectifying the situation and always failed to do so 1st Ordered a Donner kebab and chicken tikka the Donner meat was old and dry, the chicken tikka wasn't cooked properly. 2nd Time Ordered the Above again the meat was old and dry along with the chicken not cooked properly, The Naan Bread was over cooked very burnt Had to throw it away. 3Rd time was Yesterday 7/09/24 Ordered 2 pizzas one Asian Style and one Pepperoni Asian style was over The top to much green chillies on the pizza The pizza Tasted off. I had a pepperoni pizza and that tasted off. After we had eaten it. Myself and partner Had really bad belly ache feeling sick all night and day. suffered today being on and off the Toilet. My Advice stay away From here, they aren't Hygienic, the food is always being thrown around on the counter and on the flooring. Such a shame really. Oh Yeah the Free meal was Garbage 🤣🤣 We had to throw it away. Oh and Spice of life owner no customers enter the back of the kitchen that is just unhygienic you enter the front door. Definitely will not be coming back here not been well for the past 2 days now. Don't worry I won't be coming back unless I want to get food poisoning again. Which is 100% not going to happen.

We had the Feast kebab. Excellent value for money this is now out favourite and the hot sauce is delicious.

Ordered 2 kebabs, sat there like a lemon for half an hour. Reminded them that I hadn't been served and then got told " its cash only innit". Nasty. Won't be back.

Foods OK, but I like to eat it the same day I order it, and I like it hot too, it is just warm, and had to microwave it all.

Great food as usual, collection ready in 30 minutes. Would definitely recommend.

I certainly won’t be getting anything from here again and won’t be recommending it to anyone!

Excellent food. Reasonably priced. Try garlic chicken with rogan sauce side. Delish 🤤

What’s not to love about this shop? Food is bang on everytime. Let’s face it they’re the most polite set of guys you’re going to get answering the phone on a Saturday night! No matter who you are and what customers are in the shop to collect food, you will be safe and welcomed at all times. Busy place, flying out the orders, yet they have always got ours right and it’s always hot on arrival. Food last night was really tasty (kebab on pitta), staff friendly, helpful discount on in June & July to attract business...I would happily recommend. Never had a bad meal from these guys

Nice food Just add 30 to 45 mins on any delivery time given because delivery time is always a lot longer need to sort out or will begin to lose customers

The food is always spot on. But be prepared to wait for delivery as it won't come quickly and takes about 2 hours

One major problem is that the Donna meat is cut/sliced way to thick if it was thin I’d order every night please make change to how thick you cut it want it nice and thin

Ordered at 18:30 and they said that our order wouldn’t be delivered until 20:30 - over 2hrs just for 2 kebabs. I phoned them to see where the order was after an hour and they said that it was because they were really busy. This isn’t the first time the delivery time has been astronomical either. Great food however they need work on their delivery times… *update* Received the food 2hrs 15 minutes late and they were really soggy and not that hot - could tell they had been sat a long time. Probably won’t order from here again.

Ordered a Feast kebab on garlic naan for collection. Firstly was told it was ready to collect I arrived to have to wait a further 15mins for my order secondly this has got to be the worst kebab ever missing the seekh kebab and lamb with soggy naan bread salad wedges to say the least dry chicken.. This was just a very large Donner kebab.

Nice food but the service and attitude of staff has plummeted now! Just awful…I assume it’s due to being overly busy but that should be no excuse! Staff used to be friendly and pleasant! Such a shame…I’m not going again as there are way too many better places! Santos in particular

There was white stuff on my pizza, and it was weirddddd. The food was very cold and the white stuff covered all of my pizza and it was sticking on to the pizza. I asked for a delivery and they took 5 hours to give me the cold food. When I went to the restaurant, I asked the owner why there was white stuff on my pizza, he said that i was a fat and a very inappropriate word, never go to this place. Absolutely disgusting!

Decent kebabs but slow delivery.

I visited the area coincidentally after about 37 years. My Father opened this takeaway when it was across the road in 1984-85 and sold it a few years later. I remember the first day we opened I was around 4 to 5 years old. The que of customers was going out of the shop as people were anticipating arrival of the first Indian takeaway in Mossley. Amazing to see it's still going strong👌

Feast kebab, on plain naan £8.90 decent price for all the food, chilli sauce is like a ketchup consistency with a slight kick salad was cold, fresh, naan was a little doughy, but very impressed . Will be a returning customer when I'm nearby

Over 2 hours for delivery spoils your appetite!! Rubbish service so when the food finally arrives you don’t even want it!!! Understand it’s so busy but tell customers how long it’s going to be so they have a choice to cancel!!! Could have picked it up if known instead of having to ring to see where it was!!! Food finally arrived and just Luke warm? Absolutely disgraceful will never return Avoid avoid standards are appalling!!!

Kept us waiting for 2 hours, no food and no apology

This place must do something right as it’s part of the furniture in these parts. Personally after three orders of late, never again. Substance over quality is what u get. Portions are huge, food is 5 stars, that’s minus 5 stars. Pizzas ordered were on a base of slop, Nan kebab was like paper mache and slimier than Prince Andrew. Paid £27 for the privilege and they had the audacity to cut us off when we rang to challenge the order time upping from 30 mins on placing, according to Just Eat., then extended to 2 hours, come on, I could have knocked up a full roast in that time. They blamed Just Eat! If you’re happy to make money from them get them to get their house in order, it’s not the customer’s problem, it’s yours. In fairness when we rang the slop was here n 20 mins, and in the bin 2 minutes later. I’d rather starve and the off bellies we had from the bit we ate makes u ask questions!

ordered 3 chicken and lamb grill donner , they put to much sauce, noone ate nan , they shouldn't put to much sauce on top or give separate sauce.

Waited 2 1/2 hours for delivery. Kebab on pitta had been sat too long and was soggy and totally stuck to the paper. Mash Up was good, kebabs on naans good. Disappointed but local and usually good so will try again.

Always good food. By far the cleanest and best place to get a kebab in Mossley. Try the Mossley mash up if you want something different to your normal kebab.

Brilliant curry house. Fabulous dishes for all tastes here at the Spice of life. I love their Passanda with poppadoms and a tub of mango chutney. They do these enormous kebabs and I mean huge, they keep the husband quiet for a while. Home delivery available.

Ordered for dellivey.. Was told 45mins -1hr time but it took 1hr 20mins. Meat was charred on one side and near raw on the other and the sauce non existent.. Utter rubbish from a once great kebab house. Thoughts and prayers....RIP.

Awesome Garlic Chicken kebab whilst passing through Mossley. Definitely one of the best I’ve eaten. If I was a local I would be a regular.

What a kebab!! Had a chicken kebab & it's probably the best kebab I've ever had. The chicken was spicy but not too hot & the salad dressing was sweet, a perfect combination with the spicy chicken. A+

Have not ordered from here for a while, however it was absolutely beautiful. The chicken was beautiful and succulent, the rice was fluffy and aromatic. Absolutely beautifully made meal and we will be using The Spice of life from now on. Thanks for an amazing evening meal

Bought from them several times. Good for kebabs, I`ve not tried anything else from them. The kebabs are a good size. The hot sauce isn`t too hot, but is hot enough. The only reason I don`t give them 5 stars is the delivery time. I live 0.36 miles away, 414 meters by road, yet it takes around 50 minutes to get my orders. Although to be fair the website does say delivery will take 55-70 minutes. Still I`d prefer it take less time to get my orders.

Just the best. No one beats their pizza. We have moved away from the area but we still call back in whenever we are local because we've never found anywhere that comes even close.

Wow delicious food, staff are amazing chaps too, ordered the mash-up after the 1st bite I instantly knew I was in the presence of absolute quality. The residents of Mossley are lucky people to have an establishment like this, will definitely be visiting again

Tried the mashup and was tasty however the cheap ketchup they use on the chips is quite noticeable and a little off putting. The mashup was very well priced - bought a medium and could say it would easily feed 2 people. Overall a decent spot for a big meaty meal.

Ordered chicken tikka on pitta, got lamb, so they had just the salad, cant eat lamb. Including the food was over cooked, cold and the chicken burgers were cheap nasty breaded burger. I will not be ordering from here again. Over priced for what you get!!

I have been visiting Spice of Life for many years - since the shop was across the road from its current location. I always order the feast kebab and, without exaggeration, have not found a better kebab anywhere in the world. Tasty, great value for money and the service is always good too.

Good quality food (the Handi Is particularly good) with a good selection. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Only negative is the portion sizes are sometimes a little hit and miss.

if i could give it more starts i would!!!! my absolute favourite take away and always my go to absolutely everything on their menu that i’ve tried has been an excellent quality. the donner kababs are by far the best quality dinner meat iv ever had. cheesy chips are amazing and their special “mash up” is one to try. staff are very friendly and i would recommend this take away.

I've been getting food from here for years, have had dozens of different dishes and have never had any problems. The food is really tasty, the guys who work there are really friendly, and they'll even make things that are not on the menu if you ask them. Delivery times are often an hour or more - especially Fri-Sun when they are pretty much run off their feet, but they are just a victim of their own success in this respect. Delivery is free, and they'll tell you it's going to be an hour or more, so there's really no cause to complain about this. If you want your food sooner, go pick it up yourself. It's extremely rare to go in and there not be people waiting or people coming in whilst I'm there & there's always a row of orders being worked on - that alone should show how good the place is. For an Indian restaurant, one of the biggest surprises is how good the pizzas are - I've been to specialist pizza places who can't make pizzas this good.

Never had a problem here. Customer service has been brilliant and the food even better until just now. I phoned and asked if it would be possible to get some food delivered within half a hour as I have to shoot off (I know it was a small time frame but that's why I asked). He said I cant promise you. I said it doesn't matter then because I have to be out and he just hung up the phone on me! Rude....... small rant but there is obviously one member of their staff that needs customer service training.

This is the worst food I've had in this year. You claim you have good pizzas haha, mix grill was shocking no flavor (cold) . Very bad stay away there is better establishments in the Tameside area.

Absolutely ridiculous. No manners over the telephone when ordering for home delivery. Times for waiting for delivery 1&1/2 - 2hrs.. What kind of service are you running.. The food finally came and just about edible.. Naan bread never seen Naan...was like thick dough..Terrible

I have always had a nice meal from spice of life but I am getting fed up with the time for delivery, also the food as been always good But this time I ordered a king prawn birayani Which was just a load of fried rice mush with a very few chopped up rubbery king prawns,no extras added to rice like you get in a proper biryani, I was brought up in the 70s and 80s when curry chefs knew how to cook, to be honest you would be better eating in a Indian restaurant these days better value then takeaway and all fresh produce, try Swadashi in Stalybridge Order takeaway from them, cheaper and amazing.
