Been going here since I moved to catterall 12 years ago. Amazing food and friendly staff, Akbar has become a good friend over the years.

One of our regular haunts. Always great service & delicious nosh! An added plus for us is the very pretty, dog friendly outside space. Highly recommended.

Busy cafe nestled next to the marina, large car park very close. We were there for breakfast but the chalkboard menus for the rest of the day looked good. Fresh coffee and the full breakfast was very tasty.

Could do with a better range of craft, but the place is clean, efficient, friendly and reasonable value for money. Well worth a visit?

Friday night takeaway. I had:- Original Munch Box £14 Burgers served in a toasted brioche bun Homemade 4.5 oz smashed burgers American cheese, lettuce, crispy onions, chef’s burger sauce Salt & Pepper Chips Breaded Mozzarella Sticks (V) Beer Battered Onions Rings (V) Sweet Chilli Dipping Pot All beautifully cooked & tasted amazing, good size portion too. My wife had New Yorker burger & she said it was lovely. If you want a Friday night takeaway, you’ll need to book in advance as it’s busy! Best cafe / takeaway in Garstang!

Popped in today, Saturday 5th Oct 2024, my Wife had the Welsh rarebit which was delicious. I had the homemade tomato and basil soup, two coffees, lovely staff, lovely atmosphere, what's not too like.

We came to the Royal Oak on a busy Saturday due to garstang having a small festival, it was very busy but such an enjoyable experience. We had our baby with us and nothing was too much trouble, we had some food and drinks and all was really lovely and good portions! Louis and Charlotte in particular were very welcoming and polite and everything was brought in good time considering the amount of other people having food and drinks! Definitely visit again soon, thank you!

Christ...this place allows people to vape inside and the drinkers don't half take advantage. It was like being in 70s pub but with a fruity twist. I won't go here again.

Food was good, took a long time to arrive. Service was poor. We weren't told about unavailable meals, until we ordered them. We had to ask how to order etc. Our booked table was given to other guests.

We all really enjoyed our fish, chips and peas. I had curry sauce as well which was unique, and very flavourful (not the average gloop I’m used to!). Battered fish was fluffy, crispy and delicious. Chips cooked very nicely! All really fairly priced, and fish and chips combo even more better value! Good selection of canned drinks as well. Staff are really friendly, highly recommended! New management working hard to maintain the excellent standards of the wonderful past. The place is an institution for discerning locals.

It's changed hands. Disappointed to be honest. Food OK but very pricey for OK food. Thought it was odd it wasn't busy but found out it's changed hands. I've given 3 stars which I think is fair.
