The best Italian takeaway around! Recently moved to garstang and I have tried all the takeaways. I’m a huge fan of Italian and this place is really really good. Great family run business, friendly staff, great food. And a good choice of wine and drinks. Would definitely recommend! (Burgers are handmade and are very hard to beat!)

Best pizza I have ever tasted! Ordered a large margarita pizza to share with my husband, a plain garlic bread, tomato garlic bread and a feta & olive salad. Food collected 20 minutes after telephone order. Authentic Italian pizza & garlic breads. The salad was delicious too. Will definitely return again and try their delicious range of desserts next time! I highly recommend this takeaway, it’s not your average takeaway, restaurant quality food at a very reasonable prices.

Amazing food, recommended takeaway stop in Garstang for anyone travelling on the Lancaster Canal as only a 5 minute walk from the canal and Tithebarn pub. Delicious and authentic italian food. Will definitely eat from there again.

We first reviewed Dantes on TripAdvisor as long ago as 2014. Yesterday Dantes celebrated 20 years since opening and I thought the review deserved an update. We have visited almost weekly since 2014 and have NEVER had a disappointing meal. The staff and owners are great. The food high quality with great steak and chicken meals, wonderful garlic mushrooms lasagne and pizzas. It’s take away only - eat in the car or take your food home. Restaurant quality at takeaway prices. Great job Dante’s!

We ordered a takeaway from here on recommendation from the owners of our holiday accommodation nearby. It was Delicious, efficiently prepared and at £49 for 7 people we thought it represented good value too.

So excited to try this place as we were in the area.And we weren't disappointed, although maybe a bit - we ordered by phone and when we arrived realised there was a daily specials board! We will remember for next time!The pizza and garlic breads were delicious, just like ones we have had in Italy.I loved my tortellini ala crema (but he didn't as he said there were too many mushrooms). The best dish was the large ravioli.A real treat that we will definitely try again.

Use to eat here often when had caravan this way not been for long while was not disappointed food just as yummy as before always my go to if visiting the area.

Always get a tasty meal from here. Never once had a bad one. Pizza is like proper Italian pizza. Thin crust, full of flavour and never greasy. Pasta is always good. Yummy sauce, pasta cooked perfect and good portions. Brothers lactose intolerance dealt with efficiently with no fuss. (He just grates his own lacto free cheese on top at home.)Always look forward to our Dantes night.

We had 6 different main meals and all excellent. The pizzas were particularly good but one of our group (Italian by birth) said his pasta was great too. Thought it was reasonably priced and half the cost of the big chains Definitely would return

good variety of food to choose, from pizza to pasta, design your own pizza they will make it add a garlic bread i recommend the spicy one.

Just recently moved in to the area and ordered from here twice already. Service is really friendly and helpful. The food is fantastic and very reasonably priced. Really tasty, fresh and authentic. Highly recommend.

I can not fault this place! I think what sets it apart from the rest, is that it’s a restaurant quality takeaway. Gorgeous, never greasy, reasonably priced pizza. Lovely staff that work hard to provide quality food.

Lovely people and good service. The kids enjoyed the animals and the soft play area too. Only downside was the disappointing ice cream.

My partner and I had gone to another Italian restaurant, only to be truly disappointed at a set menu and lack of decent vegetarian options. We therefore decided to leave and get a takeaway. We found Dante’s with its wonderful menu with plenty of choice. The staff were friendly and got our order sorted as quick as they possibly could. We will definitely go back :)

Visited tonight 20.9 2018 @21.55 Ordered food tried 4 different firms for taxi home but due to bad weather no taxi 4 one hour , they said no problem we’ll run you home.........Food as always excellent 5 start *****And what made me more than happy they went out of there way to keep customers happy..........I probably only use this place about 8 times a year but tonight you made me feel like a regular...........You probably don’t realise what you’re doing But Your Doing It RIGHT......My order was £9.50 and excellent............Big respect %..

We fancied a nice pizza to eat while sitting by the canal, we rang the order in and it was ready in 15 minutes, both pizzas were really tasty and enjoyable. Staff were friendly. They also do a nice range of desserts if you are not full after the main course.

This family run business is second to none there Spaghetti Carbonara is beautiful. Will be there this weekend.

In a protective ankle boot so I couldn't cook for the family so decided to order pizza. Collected at 7.00 as asked for. Ham and pineapple. Pepperami and a Dantes special all 9 in. Plenty as filled each box. So full. Great toppings with really thin Italian base. Delicious. I think we may have to do it again before I'm mobile.

Being somewhat of a self styled pizza connoisseur (well, I've eaten plenty of pizza over the years!) I'm always hesitant when trying a new place, but given Dantes good reviews we decided to give them a go and I'm very glad we did!

I had a birthday treat from here on sat And it was perfect. They are just so good at making proper pizza. Then on sun it was Father's Day and I had another ha ha. My daughter had a gluten free pizza and again it was amazing. Not sure why anyone wouldn't ever like it. They don't deliver and close for a month and exist in a small town so only if you are selling gold standard food could a business exist. These people are lovely genuine Italian family people and Garstang is lucky to have them. Eat here and feel good. By the way, prices are really good. Best wishes

This is the second time we've used this place, but it will be our last.

We stopped in Garstang overnight on our canal holiday and just wanted something nice to eat without having to cook for a night. A definite 4 star takeaway, Dante’s was great - we managed to have a home cooked meal that tasted authentically Italian and satisfied all members of the family. The lasagne was lovely, the garlic bread was gorgeous, the boys loved the pizza. Don’t come here if you want plastic fast takeaway food - it will take a little while to cook and will taste more like it would in Italy - which is what you want right?

Have used Dante’s regularly. Really good food. Fast service and excellent value. Have not been disappointment.

We just love Dante's always great, Pizza's authentic taste great value, Pasta and rice dishes well worth a try.

Been here many times. The welcome you receive from Albano & Claudia on entering the shop makes this place standout as truly authentic Italian takeaway. There's a broad menu, my favourite is lobster ravioli. Phone orders are almost always ready spot on time. You can wait a while if you don't order ahead, particularly on weekends, so I'd recommend that your phone first to place the order.

This place is in the heart of Garstang and does great Italian food, the prices are very reasonable and the staff are always friendly. A big recommend for anyone after a good takeaway.

Been here several times now, the pizza is always first rate love it so much and possibly some of the best ravioli and carbonara I've ever tasted! Staff have been polite every time, we usually go in order and sit and wait because it never takes too long. Love this place.

Recién hecha y la comida deliciosa. Recomiendo probar hamburguesas, uno de los mejores un probar. Está dirigido por una pareja encantadora italiana tan amable con la gente. No puedo equivocar si decides ir allí. Me gustaría ver este se convirtió en un gran restaurante de día que podrá entrar con la familia y disfrutar de la comida y el ambiente.

The food is wonderful and the staff are very friendly. The menu is great and not over priced. I can't say a bad thing about the place!!!!

You could sum this place up in one word "superb".We called in while visiting the town and got an excellent meal for two. It was authentic and of the highest quality,will definitely be back and recommend to everyone wanting a restaurant quality meal to eat in the comfort of your own place.

Frequently visited as the food is always excellent. They even created a dish that wasn't on the menu. Freshly made dishes and friendly service.

If you want a stuff crust with hot dog filling deep pan and bbq sauce mass produced from a chain franchise then don't go to Dantes or don't moan when you get a lovely well made traditional thin crust pizza - no they don't come sliced in exact symmetrical pieces - real pizza isn't made that way and surprisingly doesn't come out of the oven like that either - if what you're bothered about is a quality pizza and don't mind the effort of slicing it yourself then I would highly recommend Dantes - having said that I have never asked if they would mind slicing it for me - they are lovely people I'm sure they wouldn't mind

Whilst we where moored up nearby, on our narrowboat on the Lancaster Canal, the missus and myself decided to get a pizza. We'd spotted Dante's earlier that day and decided to give it a go. First impressions on entering was that the place seemed very clean and the staff were very pleasant and appeared to be predominantly Italian. A very nice young Italian lady took our order which arrived after a few minutes. We'd selected a large garlic bread,(half tomato and half cheese) and a large Dante's pizza,( cheese, tomato,sausage, onion,spicy beef and fresh chilli) We'd opted for the large ones as we intended to share them between us but in all honesty we had over ordered and had we gone for the smallest size there would have been more than enough. Our bill was just over £14. The food itself was very enjoyable and the Dante's pizza certainly had a bit of a kick without being overpowering. I would say that Dante's prepare their pizzas more traditionally than your everyday takeaway that pile everything on a thick pastry base, which we personally prefer, and Dante's is definately a place we'll be visiting again the next time we're in the area.

We ordered take away from here a few weeks ago. The pizzas are not sliced which is a pain. Also quite stingy with the topping on the pizza. I ordered crispy ramano which use to be amazing very disappointed as it was burnt at the bottom and quite a lot of the pancake was burnt stuck to the foil. Also when we ask for 2 spaghetti carbonaras 1 without onions they will not do this and make both without them. Which is disappointing as I enjoy them but the OH doesn't. Such a shame as this use to be our Friday takeaway ritual but we will leave it a while till we order again. Staff very friendly whenever you phone or go in the shop.

Every now and then I have a pizza from dantes and I forget how mean they are with the toppings. If they put more toppings on it would get the thumbs up from me, nice people, frendly. Come on don't be mean

The pizza's from here are the best I've tasted from outside of Italy. This is the go-to place whether it be for myself or a family tea. If the prices had another £7/8 on top of them, it would still be reasonable and value for money. I urge you to try Dantes.

Pizza was nice but too much cheese and hardly any topping literally 8 pieces of chicken, 6 mushrooms and 9 pieces of sweetcorn, to top it off, pizza wasn't even sliced? Kind of defeats the object of being takeaway when it's not even sliced.Poor show really, a shame as the food was nice.

We love pizzas from Dantes! They are always tasty and the staff are really friendly! Sometimes we have to wait a little while but only because they are being cooked fresh! Would recommend for a great take away in Garstang!

This great Italian takeaway offers restaurant quality food and is excellent value.We live locally and use it regularly. The staff are always pleasant and helpful, we order by phone and it is always ready at the time given even when they are very busy.Try the beef stroganoff- as good as any I've had in a restaurant, pizzas are also great.It's more expensive than the average takeaway but well worth the money as the food is top quality and far better than the average takeaway.

No ear in option only takeaway,but this is not a problem as the pizza/food we received was excellent,also some little homemade desserts available tiramisu was too die for,reasonably priced as far as takeaways go,deffo be returning

I am new to TripAdvisor but we have been regular customers for years and have a take-away 3 or 4 times month.Have never been dissapointed and I love the lobster ravioli special. The owners are a delight and earlier this year produced on time and hot an order we placed for 12 people including one who needed gluten free food. Our friends from Germany loved the food.

Normally the food is great , very tasty and hot. So what happened last night. We had told our son how nice the food was and so as he was visiting we phoned an order through at 7.30 and were told it would be half an hour, we finally got it at 8.15 but they were busy so that's ok. When we got home the garlic bread was cold and not cooked properly, the 2 pizzas were barely warm and non of them were sliced. My husband ordered a chicken dish that he likes and said it was ok, normally he loves it. There was plenty of chicken and mushrooms in it. Normally I would say it's excellent . I have given it a poor value because I had to finish cooking it and we got it so we didn't have to cook.

Having seen the reviews we thought we would try it. The food smelt gorgeous and we were very excited by the time we got home to eat it. It was really disappointing ...the pizza bases were chewy and undercooked and made the pizzas somewhat soggy. Garlic bread was a bit better but was cold by the time we got home. We live a very short distance away so it must have been made first. Shame...perhaps we were just unlucky :(

We, as a family have visited Dantes many times over the years, sometimes rather than dining out in a resturant! We have never been let down by the choice or quality of food we have had. The best by far in the area.

We have visited Dantes several times since moving to Garstang. The food has always been excellent and the staff friendly. We have always eaten pizzas but they do offer lots of other pasta dishes and other options! We would recommend as a great take out in Garstang!!

Went here last night and the food was mouthwatering. We had a Spicy garlic bread to share that was gaugious and the tomato sauce on it was bolognaise styled, thick and yummy. I had the polla inferno which was out of this world; massive chunks of chicken, mushrooms, peppers and tomatoes on a bed of pasta. It was yummy. Both my dad and my brother had a pizza each and they said that they were delicious. I would recommend this to anyone staying in the area and will definitely come back for more.

As this is our local Italian takeaway we visit maybe once a month. The food is always beautiful. It is always freshly made and is still piping hot when we get home. We usually have difficulty in narrowing it down to just one dish each so get a selection to share! The staff are always friendly too.

We travel almost weekly 15 miles to enjoy Dantes takeaways. Lasagne and garlic mushrooms or beef stroganoff and garlic bread and of course pizzas - all are second to none. 100% satisfied every time.

Excellent food, we love the chicken livers. The pizzas and garlic bread are ace. Always go here when we are Caravanning near garstang.

have visited a few times for take away and the food is always excellent - can especially recommend the spaghetti carbonara and the dantes special bread!! The food i always really hot even by the time you get it home! Very fast and reasonably priced.

PLEASE NOTE, I am reviewing DANTES takeaway in Garstang- it's NOT a restaurant, it does not have TABLES, its a TAKEAWAY!!That said pizzas are fantastic and the specials are great. DONOT get confused with other reviews on here that refer to a restaurant - its not this one they are reviewing. If you want stand out takeaway pizzia it's the only place in town.

It is one of the bet places I have been to for a take away Italian, the pizza's are thin and crispy with loads of different toppings. They do a lot of different pasta dishes all cooked while you wait.The other god thing is that you can see them cooking all of the food and also how clean the area are.They also do have a specials board with one off items on it.

Fantastic pizza's, definitely the best in the area.The riso Milano is superb !I advise people to taste this great food !

Been here twice both the pizzas and pastas are authentic italian, they have a stone baked oven so expect a proper pizza not the nasty pizza hut type!Pastas are very nice and some veg choices tooThe samon is also very nice with hollandaise sauce
