Farmers Arms in Wyre

Food was good, took a long time to arrive. Service was poor. We weren't told about unavailable meals, until we ordered them. We had to ask how to order etc. Our booked table was given to other guests.

The food was just ok , frozen veg, pan seared chicken , not very seared , seemed more poached, service with a smile, but the dining area was very chilly, too chilled to sit in comfortably, and when this was brought to the attention of the server she was unconcerned, only the landlady could decide to put the heating on, and it didn't seem that she was going to be alerted to the fact that her customers were sitting in discomfort. Not well done, not welcoming, won't be returning.

Carnt reccomend highly enough home cooked food at its best been 3 days on the trot friendly staff great.pub you will not be disappointed.

When looking at local menus, we chose this place because it seemed best for vegetarian options. We weren't disappointed and were greeted by very friendly staff and delicious food that arrived quickly.

Good food , but not very welcoming

Probably chose a bad to to call for a meal with my wife as it was the build up to England playing in the Euros. We has a terrible experience, groups of men swearing and being loud. I'm sure on a normal day it's a nice place to visit, the food was good and the service was good. I guess we just chose the wrong day.

A little more on the pricier side but this is one of the best pubs in Garstang. The staff are incredibly friendly and chatty especially at the bar which I love. Great music and atmosphere and the beer garden is excellent to sit in. Wide selection of drinks and from what I’ve heard the chef cooks up a storm (Good Luck becoming a dad!) Would recommend!

Just popped in for drink, really nice welcoming bar

I never had food, so I could not comment. The bar itself was a bit quieter than previous visits, but the bar staff are friendly and quick to serve good drinks. Will be back when I'm in the area again.

I organised a meal for 15 ladies for the closing of the NWAA Shop in Garstang. From the minute I went in to organise it I was I was greeted by Helen who looked after everything. The food was amazing, arrived all on time and everyone got exactly what was ordered. We had a great afternoon. I could not have asked for better service and so glad I chose The Farmers Arms, thanks Helen and Jackie. 😀😀

We really enjoyed our meal. Very hearty and well received just as pub grub should be, thank goodness these pubs still exist. The service was excellent. A young woman but excellent, thorough and cheerful.....sorry I don't know your name! A friendly relaxed pub, the kind you get when the owners have been in the trade a long while and understand how a pub should be run.

Good morden pub with lots of space and a general good atmosphere. Lots of outdoor parking and outside seating. Dog friendly and kid friendly and a warm cosy feel to the place. Pool tables and satellite television with.modern bandits and a pool table in a separate snug area. Felt welcomed as soon as we entered and part of the furniture. A must stop if if you are venturing this way.

Hi guys, me again.. I came back to this restaurant after an encounter with mark disturbing me in the awesomely accessible toilets notifying me they my pizza was ready! I’m sad to say that it wasn’t any better, once again Mark wouldn’t leave me alone and this destroyed the ambiance of the farmers arms, I couldn’t stay any longer with Mark lingering around my table for my entire time there, I grabbed my husband and child and left! 😞 It’s so disappointing that Mark is still up to no good and his shenanigans, I’m sad to say this made me very upset as the farmers arms holds a special place in my heart

Since our last visit the menu has changed so we were looking forward to a platter but had to choose again. Hubby ordered prawn cocktail but sadly they were shrimps so he gave a 3*. I had garlic mushroom with brown bread rather than garlic bread. These were very nice but the sauce could have been a little thinner and more of it next time please. Not a great deal to choose from for the smaller appetite. The kitchen was spotless and the lady behind the bar was very friendly and welcoming. Beer good but Zinfandel rose needs changing as way to sweet. Landlord/landlady, try a Pinot Blush/Rose. A medium wine which is tasty and ideal for most pallets. Please stop those tiny bottles of Zinfandel rose wine. A very cheap wine and does not do the digestion a lot of good. We'll see you again one day. Thank you.

Have been here for lunch twice within a few weeks. The food is delicious and extremely good value. The wine is good too and very sensibly priced. The staff are very friendly and the loos are smart and spotless.

Had the best meal here for a private family event. Lasagna, garlic bread, chips, chicken and leek pie and gravy with a side salad. Every single morsel was to die for, cooked to perfection and the portions were more than enough, we took a good chunk of it home with us. Everybody very friendly and nothing was too much of an ask for the staff!

With my support worker and our friend my support worker treated us both to Christmas dinner which was delicious and definitely coming back again

We both had sirloin and chips with all the trimmings was cooked to perfection. The only fault was watery peppery sauce but it still had a kick

Great place, excellent beer and fabulous buffet

We arranged my brother’s 80th birthday party at the Farmers Arms. The quality of the buffet was excellent in that it was good wholesome food. The homemade sausage rolls were second to none. The beer prices were reasonable and we all had a great time.

Tempura battered calamari wife give 9/10 Bacon and black pudding wrap absolutely amazing the sauce made the dish absolutely beautiful Prawn fajitas were absolutely amazing, so much of it as well! Chicken burger was unreal absolutely massive, 10/10 Service was great. Hat off to the chef. This place was recommended by another pub and we will be back tomorrow! Overall absolutely amazing

Called at Farmers Arms for an evening meal after cleaning thru a house ready to move. I had beef stroganoff and hubby had fish pie. Both very good. Can recommend. Also service with a smile.

We were there for a funeral wake. Very welcoming with a designated area for her group. Bar service was very friendly & efficient. The buffet was delicious. Absolutely huge & tasty sausage rolls & the spring rolls were to die for. Chicken gujons, various fillings in the sandwiches on white & brown bread, mini pizzas you name ut we had it & all of it was delicious & cake to follow! Best buffet ever! Superb. Thanks 👍 10/10

We called here after being turned away from other pubs in the village which stopped serving food at 2,00pm. We were greeted by a very friendly, helpful young lady who is a credit to the Farmers. We ordered a steak and ale pie and a chicken and leek pie. We could see the food being prepared by the Chef and when it arrived both dishes were delicious. We thought £33 was very reasonable for the food and a drink each. Highly recommended.

Attended prior to Preston vs Sunderland and staff were very quick, helpful and friendly. Atmosphere was great as the lionesses were playing in semi final so full of cheer

Needed a refuge from the rain, liked the look of this place. We weren't wrong. Me and the Mrs, and our dogs given a welcome, Excellent beer, great food no fuss. Everything you want from an English pub on a wet Monday afternoon. We will be back. Thank you

It would have been 1 star but an extra one was given for the pleasant lady behind the bar. Tasteless food. My sizzling prawn fajita dish consisted of the smallest shrimps I’ve ever seen and some onion. No fajita seasoning or any other seasoning come to think of it. Worst Fajita I’ve ever had. My wife’s meal was also tasteless. Don’t think John or Greg would have been impressed.

This would have been 5 stars but for the fact that certain items - which we were looking forward to on the menu - were unavailable.

Over the last few days, we'd been in here twice. First time just for a drink and second to have an evening meal. Both times, the staff were friendly and helpful. Although when we ate, my choice was out of stock So i, too, had the steak pie, chips, and veg like my wife Disappointed at not having what I wanted. The pie was really nice. Please note that the food is served between 12 and 7 Monday to Saturday Unsure what happens on a Sunday

A really nice pubin the middle of town, serving excellent food, all home cooked. Portions are very good and service excellent.

Always good fun in this pub at the weekend,not sure what it's like during the week, but if Ur in the area it's well worth a visit.

I have had the homemade steak and ale pie twice and on both occasions they were delicious and even accompanied with homemade chips too!!!! Highly recommend this pub for a meal. My only slight critic is the meat in the pie could just do with less salt.

Good selection of beers on tap as you would expect. Compact but deleatful selection on the home cooked menu. I opted for the home made vegetable soup and wasn't disappointed at all.. for mains I went with home made fish pie with the seasonal veg, beautiful chunky pieces of fish with a lovely cream sauce topped off with a lovely potato mash. My collegue had home made burger with home cooked chips again beautiful. Definitely be back when next in the area. 10 out of 10 from us.

Didn't even know this place did food till we popped in on the off chance they might. Glad we did the food was bloody lovely. Starters Hubby had the creamy garlic mushrooms to start with and I had the chicken liver pate. Both presented well and tasted good. The sauce on the mushrooms was so smooth and velvety I'll admit I got a bit of food envy. The pate was a good one, loved the presentation on a slate and the toast to pate ratio was spot on. Mains I had sizzling chicken fajitas and he had the sirloin steak stroganoff. Fajitas filling came out on a sizzling hot plate and was served with a side plate of 2 wraps, salad, coleslaw and chips. Very tasty, glad I asked for some mayo though as I'm rubbish with spice and I found them to be a bit on the hot side. Still really enjoyed the meal. Hubby was very impressed with the sirloin steak stroganoff. Decent size strips of meat cooked well and the sauce was silky and smooth and complimented the meat very well. All in all lovely experience with professional and friendly staff in a welcoming environment and 5star food.

Food was ok, reasonable priced and good selection of drinks. Only let down on stars as the breakfast bacon was over cooked. Dogs are also welcome. Will go back again but not for breakfast.

Table of 6 turned away at the door because 'chef had turned off the kitchen'... Not sure how hard it is to turn on a fryer... We rang at 18:40 after reading they stop food at 7pm, were told to be there in 5 minutes before the kitchen closed. We arrived within this time to still be turned away. Had a lovely meal in the end at the wheatsheaf where our business of over £100 was appreciated. Not sure what kind of establishment can afford to turn away that kind of easy custom but good luck to them. This happened on 29th September 2022

Excellent quality pub lunch and good value. We both had cold platters with plenty of good value produce. We also had a side order of well cooked chips. A minor suggestion - serve the bread with butter on the side rather than buttered. We paid £25 for two platters, a side of chips and two drinks. Excellent value.

Came here for a meal on a weekday. We arrived at approximately 17:30. And the place was deserted lest but a few around the bar. I wondered about the quality if it was so quiet as the car park of a rival was fairly full. But had seen decent reviews. Ordered the burger which was decent and well presented and steak pie which was ok but for a bit too much salt. Really good portion sizes which was quite deceiving as it didn't look that much. Plenty of decent lean meat. The pastry was a little stodgy and meal lost a point for this and a lost point for a complete lack of atmosphere. It was a bit dingy and dark but as I pointed out to my partner there is only you can do with a really old building. The price was very reasonable I think the two mains came to £25. So v good value.

Stopped here briefly for a small glass of diet pepsi/coke that tasted like the postmix had gone off, which was a bit of a shame. Can't speak for their other drinks or food menu. However they kindly kept my wallet for me when I cleverly left it behind on a trip north, so that's a plus. Thanks Farmers Arms!

Feels quite dark inside very limited natural light. Drinks ££ in compassion to others I visited locally. Didn't try the food, but those who had meals looked good.

Nice quiet lunch on a Monday. Pool table available. Food choice and prices were good and chilli on baked potato was nice.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch - friendly staff, and food was excellent. We got a selection of starters to share and a main. All great quality ingredients and freshly cooked. We especially liked the garlic mushrooms and the bacon & Bury black pudding stack. Exceeded expectations, would definitely come back!

Our first visit very quiet but it was Monday lunchtime. We both had a cooked meal rather than sandwich not quite confident of quality on such a quiet day. But we were pleasantly surprised. Lovely food, great service altogether nice pub. Would definitely recommend 👌

Had a lovely family meal today at this traditional, country pub. The staff were very friendly and the service was very good. All food was freshly cooked and served piping hot. We had a range of dishes.. home made beef and onion pie, local Garstang sausage and mash , home made fish pie and children's meal of lasagne. It was good value for money, very tasty and enjoyed by all. Would have no hesitation in recommending it to friends and family. Thank you very much.

Went to this pub twice while staying in Garstang,my food(lose a star as my wifes food was just decent) was lovely,the beer(Boddington,s) was VERY enjoyable and reasonably priced and the staff were great

Called early evening for a meal 2 weeks ago. Very nice pub & a lovely pleasant & friendly young waitress. I had a very nice steak and ale pie my wife had minced beef and onion pie told the waitress it was the nicest bar meal we have had. Will definitely be back

My son, husband and I have eaten here this afternoon, there is plenty to choose from and the menu is easy to read. Our food came piping hot, it was well presented and a genourous portion, the chips and the pie we ordered was delicious.. we really enjoyed it 👌
