The Dolphin Chip Shop in Wyre

Mediocre Experience at the Dolphin Chippy I recently visited the Dolphin Chippy while feeling unwell but craving a specific meal - pudding, chips, peas, and gravy. Despite requesting a super small portion due to my limited appetite, I was charged £5.50, which I found quite expensive for the size provided. While the food was decent, it didn't quite match up to the standards set by some of the local competitors. The lack of atmosphere was noticeable, although there seemed to be a camaraderie between the staff and a few regular patrons. In summary, while The Dolphin Chippy served its purpose in satisfying my craving, the pricing and overall experience left something to be desired.

Always reasonably good chipshop food and friendly service but some of the conversations the owner has does turn the air blue. Who wants to hear angry swearing when they are buying dinner?

Best chippy in Fleetwood without a doubt

A hidden jem well worth a visit food first class all our meals were excellent.

Love this chippy always freshly made and Tony and Sharon are very socialable with customers.

It's my local and it's always fresh hot and leaves you full. Get some you won't regret it.

Woman with the Dentures was very rude. Overpriced and small portion. Chips was greasy and fish was slimy and hardly battered! Woman tried ripping us off and then making us pay for plastic forks! Avoid greasy mess

Terrible potion sizes!!!!!! Wouldn't mind chips aren't amazing! Large chips is SMALLER than a SMALL at Mr Chips. Only went because its around the corner. Won't be using thus chippy again.

We live in Leeds and was on a visit to fleetwood, we looked on the Internet to find a decent place for fish and chips 🍟 to eat. We were pleasantly surprised to find the Dolphin fish and chips shop beautiful fish and chips.

Great fish and chips, barm and battered pineapple chunks (!? Who knew they were a thing) Fish freshly prepared by a very helpful, polite and chatty chap.

Our day trips to Fleetwood always included Fish & Chips from the Blue Dolphin which we recommended to everyone but on our last visit 11th January I don't know what they put in the batter as the fish was thin and leathery, just couldn't eat it and would have taken back had we not been a long way away. Never go there again.

Fish & Chips today an utter disgrace, both pieces of fish like leather and tasted terrible must have been from last weeks, shame on you and you have lost customers and recommendations

Really small portions, chips really greasy. There is a lot better in Fleetwood.

Despite unfavourable rumours I was highly delighted with the fish and chips special. Value for money large properly cooked haddock in light crispy batter. Sat inside the small pleasant restaurant area. Very clean surroundings and good service from staff. Would definitely visit again.

We had lightly battered haddock, peas and chips. It was delicious. We had to wait a bit because the lady was on her own and there were many more customers. But the food deserved the 10 minutes wait and more. We'll repeat soon.

A local advised us to try this Fish and chippy, it was not a good experience the chips were greasy and the batter on the fish was dripping with fat, although the actual fish was very good. No we wont be returning, which is a pity because the owner was entertaining.

Today we went to sit down and eat fish and chip three times. We were looking for pisces fish and chips but landed here. We said I think we are at the wrong place but the woman said "there's nowhere else around here. Seriously im Fleetwood there are lots of fish and chip places. Then she said "well we shut in 20 minutes ". That was it . I struggle to walk so that would take 10 minutes and leave 10 mins to eat. No thanks we were not going to rush through a meal in that time scale. First lesson with food is dont hurry the customers. I didnt want indigestion. Feel unwelcome here.

Best chip shop in Fleetwood. I eat inside spotless. Never been before as i live in Cleveleys. Will definitely go back and eat inside. Food was excellent. Recommended to friends. If you dont know where it is could be hard to find. Once youve been you will soon remember. I could find it now without my friend who lives in Fleetwood.

I used to go here as a kid, I remember they had a floating, blow-up dolphin in shop. Safe to say, it's still as good as it was back then too!

We live at the seaside some 150 miles away but these were the best fish and chips we have had in years!!

Visited for lunch time take away....excellent service....fish cooked fresh,surprised it wasnt swimming around the friar it tasted that fresh.Well worth a visit,lovely fine batter.

There is only one thing you need to know about the Dolphin. It is the best chippy on the Fylde cost.

Used to pop in here quite whilst I was working for the local council as it was recommend by colleagues. Definitely wouldn’t go to any other chippy around now if I have the choice. The portion sizes are perfect and the fabtatstic value. Everything is cocked there and then in front of you, non of this being served fish that’s been sat in the warmer for an hour or so. Definitely recommend

We ate in. Mum had a small fish and I have small fish and chips. All came quickly was piping hot. Only small point was that the tea pots are impossible to pour without dripping but it could be my technique or lack of it.

Got to be the best fish and chips in Fleetwood. You can eat in or take-away. The food is piping hot, quickly served and really enjoyable - great value too! Will return with my children and grand-children when they come to stay because it is sooo good!

Best fish n chips on the Fylde coast and beyond for me. I've known it through 3 different owners and thank goodness it's stayed great throughout, I would have been gutted if it'd gone downhill! Current owners have refurbished the dining room and it's all spotless as well as delicious. Getting peckish just thinking about it!

Easy to access from main street, offers inside seating, outside seating & Take-a-way meals. Clean,light interior,expanded this visit,with enough Staff to serve tables, with hot or cold food varieties, with Kiddies portions,some offers for Seniors too are good value,with customer toilet amenities, down steps, internally, but clean. Friendly Staff make it worth a visit here.

We had come up to Freeport for the Christmas light switch on and had read the reviews for here and thought we would give it a go. The reviews were right..We placed our order and everything was cooked fresh the chips were amazing the battered sausage stunning and the pies perfect. We would definitely recommend.

Always make a bee-line for the Dolphin Chippy when "up North". Any chippy that majors on Haddock is fine by me. The fish is firm, white, freshly cooked to order and very very tasty. Chips fresh and tasty too. Eat in or take away; we like our fish and chips and these never disappoint. Good value too.

Food was excellent and came recommended. Could not be faulted. Very friendly people too. Situated in a small back street but well signed.

What a wonderful place to eat, very clean, friendly owners, beautiful dining room and truly the best haddock, chips and mushy peas we have ever tasted. Not a single greasy chip and the batter was light and crisp. Plates and food were piping hot and served with a real genuine welcome. The only criticism is that it's located over an hour from our home but most definitely worth a day trip to the coast. Thank you for such fabulous food....we will be back asap!!!

Habiendo tenido un fantástico almuerzo de uno de sus competidores fleetwood decidimos probar el Dolphin. Sin duda es a la par con la Granada - tanta suerte de tener 2 genial chippies en el mismo pueblo. El bacalao, patatas, guisantes blandos y la salsa era impecable. El personal era muy amable y la relación calidad-precio era excelente.

Son sinceramente el mejor pescado y patatas fritas que he probado jamás. El personal es encantador y muy acogedor. Una gran relación calidad-precio sin duda lo recomiendo. Es precioso por dentro y muy limpio, el personal dispuesto a hacer cualquier cosa para cualquiera y es siempre el servicio con una sonrisa. Sharon y Tony trabajan muy duro y la comida es para morirse.

El pescado y las patatas fritas son consistentemente muy buena aquí. Buena comida, el restaurante limpio y el servicio muy amable a un precio razonable. Altamente recomendado.

Llegamos a las 6. 45:00 no sabiendo que los locales cierran a las 7. 00:00 h. Sin embargo, la camarera abrió el comedor para nosotros sin queja y nos sirvió el eglefino, patatas fritas y guisantes blandos. Eran absolutamente deliciosos. El pescado era fresco y frito en el tono bateadoras. El comedor es muy acogedor y un lugar ideal para una comida.

we always eat here and it is always good. except today it was not fit to eat and most thrown to the birds on the prom. fish dripping in fat and re heated chips rock hard. definatley will not eat here again

Decent well priced street corner chippy.

had take out pie and chips at lunchtime. chips done in small batches and reasonably crisp and firm, not at all soggy. only a small portion though when served with a pie. pies are microwaved to order so although fine they look pale and not very appealling and don't keep hot for long. tasty filling but too thick a pastry for me. 5 star hygiene rating

Called in on the of chance after a day at Blackpool we wanted fish and chips but didn't want to pay Blackpool prices must say it was really good and worth the trip north friendly service and great food cooked fresh

Best chippy in town and by no means the most expensive

Great Chippy whether you want take out or eat in. The Staff are pleasant and friendly, and the service is quick. The food is always excellent and tasty, I would recommend this establishment to anyone.

The shop was busy, so I had high hopes of a good experience. The fish was delicious, once I had liberated it from its casing of greasy batter; the chips were limp and soggy and quite literally the greasiest I have had in a long time.I won't be hurrying back anytime soon.

Visited on a cold Wednesday in half term which has been an annual family event. The food, notwithstanding there was no plaice available again, was excellent. The portion sizes for the children are great value for money. The restaurant was unusually quiet and this may have accounted for the apathy in terms of service. The waitress who "transacted" with us had no eye contact, literally put the cutlery by the side of the table and no customer service traits on view. When two elderly ladies called in for a cup of tea each and the assembled waitresses raised a collective eyebrow - probably summarised the service issue I outline. May be just a cold day at half term and a one off, however disappointing nonetheless.
