We were visiting the area and called in for tea. Had fish&chips, sausage&chips, spring rolls, curry sauce and all were really tasty and cooked fresh. Big portions and great value for money. If we lived near here, would definitely be a regular 👍
Late breakfast, I had the omlette my daughter had the banana pancakes, both excellent. Food and coffees were piping hot and great quality.
N.B. it is closed on Tuesdays but well worth a visit.
Called as never been before. Ordered the big breakfast and a standard one. Sausages were soft so been microwaved, black pudding over cooked, bacon so so, all Luke warm not hot. If you like this standard then defo value for money. I didn’t think it was nice at all. Won’t be returning.
I visited this cafe on 23/03/25 at 14.30 with my disabled mum. We were told that they weren’t serving food which was ok as we just wanted coffee and cake.
We were served our drinks, my mum’s was very full and she has difficulty picking up a very full cup so I asked for two half cups. The waitress offered me disposable cups which I found very insulting and inappropriate. The cake arrived (which was quite nice) and we were told the cafe closed at 15:00. When I checked on google for opening hours it said it closed a 16:00.
While we had our coffee and cake the two waitresses (one who told us it was her first day) began putting their coats on and saying quite loudly that they had to lock up so couldn’t even wash the crockery we were using which tells me that dirty dishes are left overnight. Not hygienic for a cafe serving food, it may easily attract vermin.
Overall a very unsatisfactory visit to the Bank Cafe in Hoylake. I will not be recommending it to anyone else.
Stopped by for breakfast in Hoylake with family , love the charming decorations and the layout of the nine leaves, the tea library is a fantastic idea !
My egg and sausage sandwich was delicious the feta bacon and roasted tomatoes looked great !
The staff were really nice which is always a good thing!
We’ll be back
Great place to eat, lovely tea room, great food with friendly attentive and polite staff.
This is the second time I've been, the previous occasion with my other half who was impressed and wants to go back again at some point.
Just had THE best fish - chips and hot curry sauce - the chips were made with new potatoes which were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle - the cod fish had a thin layer of crispy crunchy batter
What a superb treasure this place is! My dog and I are always welcomed by name, with warmth and sincerity. Food is great, prices reasonable. So much is going on there. People are friendly and talk to each other. The vibe is upbeat. The clientele is intergenerational and inspired by a real community spirit. I go there and feel human! 😁
ordered food and it took about an hour and a half to come. When it came toast was literally charcoal! we asked for no tomatoes in breakfasts and they put tomatoes in 2 of the breakfasts also asked for mushrooms and they didn’t put mushrooms on. I called and had to speak to 3 different people who kept taking the phone off eachother and all were very rude didn’t resolve my problem told i was going to be waiting ages because they were busy even though it was there fault and they continued to say just get a refund through just eat. Never ordering again! Hash browns also had green inside 🤢
I hope I am correct in assuming the name of the coffee shop has changed from Gorge Us to Our Coffer shop and I am reviewing correct place.
I am a great fan of afternoon tea and I rate the afternoon tea at this cafe as unbeatable in value variety and taste. I chose to visit again for my birthday with friends who don’t live in the local area. I explained the place itself is “quirky” to say the least but I highly rate the food and service as every time I have ever eaten there it has been excellent. We placed the order via Facebook giving all of our choice of sandwich filling in advance. One of the group has specific dietary requirements as she is dairy free and this was noted also. The staff were very attentive and friendly and the afternoon tea was a great success as always but what makes it stand out for me is the most amazing home made cake selection you get with it. My “dairy free” friend was truly amazed at her separate tier of goodies to eat. They had gone above and beyond to cater for her and she appreciated it so much we are booking again for her birthday in May.
Another friend with us said she would definitely be booking for her mums birthday. I think that sums up how good the experience was

Sadly burgers were really dry tonight. Previously we’ve always found them really juicy but they were really thin and dry. Please review what you have changed and revert to what you did before.
