Pisces Traditional Take Away in Wirral

Pisces is our favourite Wirral chippie. The chips are great but the fish is fantastic! Lots of choice on fish (haddock, cod etc) and also choice on size. They also do other meals and now deliver too. The staff are super friendly.

Just had THE best fish - chips and hot curry sauce - the chips were made with new potatoes which were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle - the cod fish had a thin layer of crispy crunchy batter

Cod dinner x 2. Collected our food 10 minutes early tonight. Fish was so white and fresh with crispy batter. Chips soft and fluffy inside some with crunchy outsides. Chunky cut. Peas nice, not too thick. Very little oil or grease left in the box. Competitive price. The app is easy to use and order. Food delicious. One thing not sure if you can remove the bag from the app order. I didn't need one but had to pay 25p for it was added to the app payment. Will be back again soon.

Used the online facility to order scampi chips & peas . All ready for collection, lovely chips not greasy or soggy. Staff exceptionally efficient and welcoming. Wii go again.

the chips are good but the fish is better, all the sauces and peas etc are really nice, the batter is the best I have had and the fish is always so fresh, get there early as they often run out

We ordered our takeaway through the app. The app has been updated and is a bit easier to use. We arranged our pick up time ahead. Our meal was well worth waiting for. Fish (cod and haddock) was delicious and the chips were spot on too. The hot curry sauce complimented it nicely. Pisces is the best fish and chips on the Wirral and we highly recommend it.

We were visiting from Canada and our family recommended Pisces for some traditional fish and chips with peas. It was hands down the best fish and chips we have ever had! Fish was delicious - crispy on the outside and flaky and soft inside. The chips were perfect and the portions were very generous! Thank you for making the last meal of our visit perfect!

Just had a take away from Picses -service was excellent & the staff really helpful-the food was hot and just what I ordered 👌 I could not fault it & would highly recommend 👍

There are many good fish and chips shops on the Wirral, but when it comes to plain old fashioned no nonsense fish and chips, Pisces is very hard to beat ! Well done !

I ordered online this time and had several special requests. The meals were delicious, hot and fresh, with not a morsel left. ‘The Best Fish and Chips in Heswall’ is a well deserved boast.

Again I ordered chips with chilli & cheese on top (stressing the cheese on top) but alas once again the cheese was hidden so it looked just like chips & chilli🤷🏻‍♀️ Also they are still not allowing people inside -which is fine at the moment but I won’t bother coming in wet weather or winter months -enough said 👎🏻

This is my favourite fish & chip shop. Wonderfully cooked, good sized portions. They also have their own app for click and collect

Gorgeous fish and chips from here every time! Since covid they have made adaptations so that you can safety order and pick up without having to go inside which is an added bonus. Spotlessly clean and friendly staff. I would definitely recommend.

Due to COVID-19 you have to make an appointment.Rang at 5 o’clock and they had a slot at 5.10. Nipped around fish and chips ready and I was back in house at 5.20.Quite like this arrangement and lovely fish and chips to boot.

Absolutely fabulous ! Ordered fish and chips, curry and mushy press for the family, was so pleasantly surprised at how good the quality of the food was. Fish was lightly battered and crisp with white flakey cod cooked to perfection. Chips where thick cut and fresh with just the right consistency inside! Curry and peas where equally well cooked. Staff were very friendly and pleasant and shop in general was spotless clean. I can’t recommend this place enough, roll on next Friday !!!

Just moved to the area and came across this place.The whole family raved about their meals from the fish, kids meals, burgers and jacket potato! Cleanest takeaway I’ve stepped into and service with a smile(rare to find anywhere these days!)Definitely our new regular!

Following mostly good reviews,we stopped at Pisces after returning from a rather mundane council meeting in Barnston. At Pisces, we asked for lightly battered 'extra large' haddock. Although only a 10 minute drive home, following receipt of order, the haddock had 'separated' from batter and appeared 'wet' when arriving home. Although we will continue to suport local business. Please consider all reviews. I, my partner, and two children (both over 14 years) were incapacitated for 3 - 4 days following eating here. MG x

I have been a regular customer for about 12 months, arriving at Heswall due to consultant job relocation. Today was my final time at Pisces. I usually order battered halloumi or egg and chips. The egg & chips order began simply following an enforced complete renovation of my kitchen where I had no cooking facilities for around 6 weeks. Pisces staff were good enough to cook a simple 'comfort food' order on request, which was genuinely appreciated. Tonight, the bispectacled staff I had the unfortunate displeasure to meet, who persistently laughed directly at me & could clearly be heard 'screaming' with laughter as I left Pisces with my order, was, at best, ignorant and at worst, bigotted & rude. Although I suspect my £15 per week order(s) will not be missed - this was my final order at Pisces.

Very happy service & most helpful. I have always enjoyed fish & chips from Pisces. I have to travel 20 minutes but well worth it.

We have been regulars here for years. Easily the best fish and chip supper for miles around. You do have to wait for the fish to be cooked to order, but this means it’s hot and crispy. The fish is good quality cod or haddock. The fish portion sizes do vary though depending on what has been delivered that day. There are always too many chips for us, but these are lovely when refried for a second meal!

Great quality whenever we go and we've been going regularly once a fortnight for years and years. The chips are the best you'll ever find and the fish quality and preparation is brilliant. All this added to great friendly personal service from Coz, his sister and Mum & Dad. Just had another superb Haddock and chips from Pisces and had to praise them. They will also make delicious fish batter-free if you want (for allergists etc) 'Enjoy!'

A lovely friendly bunch at this clean fish and chip shop. Staff all very proud and happy to be there. Have always been particular about my fish and chips and have tried many around the Wirral. All the places that used to be good or had a good recommendation have all gone down hill. You end up with over cooked fish in batter as thick as an old pair of boots and by the time you've picked the best chips out, a handful in most cases, you end up practically with a portion of bitty crispy chips that nobody wants on their plate.

Visited here last week for a fish supper with my kids. Had a lovely selection of freshly cooked fish and chips with tasty curry sauce. Service always great.

As a family tradition, Friday is our fish and chip supper night, which means one brave family member will venture outdoors and battle the harsh elements to find a suitable chippy.

Pisces is always my first choice for chips (especially for their mild curry), their chips are absolutely delicious, would never have one of their scallops again though, far too stodgy!

This was our first visit since it has changed hands. The fish and chips are still fantastic. Only downside is that they do not take cards.

Probably the best fish and chips on the Wirral. Difficult to find if you don't know where it is. Parking can be difficult but worth persevering. (Everywhere in Heswall is a nightmare for parking)

We were brought fish and chips by a friend as a surprise and treat. They are presented in a protected cardboard container. Hot, delicious chips, crunchy yet fluffy, a very good chip and I am not a chip person, and beautiful cod in a light crisp batter. Totally delicious. Will def go back ourselves. A delicious and yummy treat!

I have been living in Heswall for 12 years and Pisces was alway our go-to fish and chip shop. We dont visit often as we are trying to eat healthy and lose a bit of weight but visited today as a special treat.

Although this has changed ownership they have maintained their award winning standards. I wouldn't buy fish and chips anywhere else. They also have a good selection on their menu to suit all tastes.

Good local chippy. Tasty grub which is what you would expect. Service can sometimes be a bit short but in a busy little chippy they can be very busy so wouldn't want them taking too long with the customers anyway.

Since the new owners have taken over, this chippy has been great. No more soggy under-cooked chips, like the other owner. My only wish is that they did donner meat kebabs. I would visit them more, if so!

Simple but ample menu , cheaper than most other chippies I've been to but the quality is top draw. Always fresh and staff are pleasant . Back to the original owners thank god beacause it went down hill after they left.

Went in here a few days ago, i can honestly say its the worst chips i have ever had, not only that but at £1.70 a portion it is probably also the most expensive. Service was quick and the staff were friendly, but the food was awful...i will not be going back

My family all had fish & chips & all I can say is that they were the best we've had in a long time in any takeaway . Since the new owners took over , the shop hygiene & food has certainly improved. The fish was so fresh & cooked to perfection & the chips weren't greasy at all. We all enjoyed what we had & will certainly be returning . Well done, you are now our favourite chip shop in the area .

Wonderful traditional fish and chip shop..warm and friendly staff ...clean and bright premises deffinately worth a visit when visiting Heswall.

I came to this place because my normal chippy was closed for refurb, but it is great. really good selection of offerings, from traditional fish and chips, to asian, pies, chicken, curry and the they use lovely haddock for the fish and chips. the service is fast and efficient and everything comes in a branded cardboard box to make it easy to carry and keep it hot. All their hygiene certificates are displayed on the wall which gives you confidence. All in all it looks clean and the product are good...just be mindful that u will have to queue !!

These guys have been serving up the best fish and chips around for years now. Well worth popping in if you've not done so yet.

You sometimes have to wait for food to be cooked to order but this means it’s all fresh. If there are queues this may mean that chips are under-cooked for some peoples taste. Staff are friendly and flexible so tell them – we ask for cod well done to get really crispy batter. Good choice of fish. Great steak puddings too with no gristle. The portions of chips are too large for us but are lovely when refried for a second meal.

Pisces used to be The Busy Bee and run by a guy called Gus. In those days this used to be an excellent take away, serving the best fish and chips for miles!

Great fish & chips , Huge servings quick service and great prices. The meat pie was a bit dry but okay. The staff was friendly . Fed 3 people for less than 10 pounds.

By far the worst chips i have ever had, Under cooked and tasteless. Infact they were inedible. Too much of a rush to get the food out, resulting in very poor quality....never again!

Called in tonight, bought two cod, small chips and peas. Fish lovely,, what happened to your chips?!? They were terrible, undercooked and tasteless! I have over the last two years seen Pisces food drop in quality! Over the last two years I've asked for Hake on every occasion, 'and, each time I was told, we don't have any!!! My advice to the owners,,,take it off your menu!! You need to up your game and get back to good quality chips! I won't be in any hurry to return.

The fish and chips are some of the best l'v had. They put them in a box which stops the fish sticking to paper. Brilliant idea. The place is spotlessly clean, well done.
