Happy Garden in Wirral

We were visiting the area and called in for tea. Had fish&chips, sausage&chips, spring rolls, curry sauce and all were really tasty and cooked fresh. Big portions and great value for money. If we lived near here, would definitely be a regular 👍

extremely rude watched me and my fellow associates wait half an hour for our food as we told her we were paying with card and checked the money in our bank. When the food was finished she was still extremely rude.

Was looking forward to our meal..... ugh, so disappointed! The hot and sour soup was so salty I could not eat it!!!! The fried fish.... mmmmm was there fish???? I had to hunt for the fish!!!!! It was more greasy *breading* than fish! Not worth the price! I will not be back!

Great place and a classic fish and chips shop. The fish and chips are always cooked fresh and are great tasting. The portions are huge, the fish and chips will do two people for sure. Prices are very reasonable. The Chinese food is good and again always tastes fresh and exactly what it says on the menu.

Simply the best chips I have every had. Double fried, crispy in the outside and fluffy in the middle. Eat them fresh and you will love them. The portion sizes are also outrageous. Love this place.

We have been using the Happy Garden as our "go to" takeaway for over a year now. We visit every fortnight on average. Large selection, very good quality and reasonably priced. Efficient service. Improved since my last review of 2020.

Really nice small chinese chippy. They do a lovely reasonably priced fish and chips which was cooked from fresh in front of me. The owner was very nice and even gave my toddler son some free chicken nuggets. Which was appreciated. Overall I would highly recommend this chippy.

Really nice food and standard prices. Parking is a pain otherwise decent takeaway. Online menu slightly different to actual menu so care needed when ordering.

Excbest chinese around exellent fish

Visited for the first time tonight. As didn't know it was even there... up a side road instead of main one. The ladies helped me pick something as I wanted to experiment. Loved the meal had Shanghai crispy chicken it's was hot, sour, sweet amazing 😃 will be back for sure.

New local favourite. Great service, not too busy.

Brilliant vegetarian Chinese food. Chilli tofu, fried rice and vege noodles chow mein.

Thought I’d try this for a change as it looked nice -spare ribs and a chicken fried rice . Standard stuff . The ribs were very fatty and not many for the £6+ price but worse there wasn’t any chicken at all in the chicken fried rice -none-just rice expensive £13 for a few ribs and fried rice -I won’t be or recommending it to anyone -sorry

Best Chinese around! Where some Chinese are good at one type of meal and poor at others. This place is a good all around chippy. Good value and have never had a bad meal. Only down side is no card payment

Fish and chips were dry shame as usually very nice

A year ago, my family had a meal ( x4) from the Happy Garden and most of it went in the bin, it was so, so dry. About 12 weeks back my wife & I had a very good meal from the same, and it was very nice, and said we would return. Yesterday, I got myself a meal ( King Prawn Fried Rice) and sad to say it was....so dry, as hungry as I was and eager to enjoy, half the meal was discarded. I want to support this local takeaway, and will try once more, but why is the food so dry?

Never had a bad takeaway. Chips are crispy and batter on fish is not too thick. Really can't fault it.

I have tried so many dishes on the menu. The food is always so fresh with great flavours. Good portions at a reasonable price. The chips are so good, not stodgy but lovely and crisp. Really delicious food every time. 5* food hygiene rating too!

Great little chippy. Cant fault the restaurant quality of these takaway dishes. I have tried most things on the menu all of which are very tasty. Some have complained about the waiting times and attitude of the lady serving, Friday's are the worst for the waits and the lady is a character definitely but I wouldn't go anywhere else due to the quality. Excellent crispy chips, all fresh ingredients used.

First time I have been to this Chinese chip shop. I kept missing it as its situated up Village Road in Bebington. I am so glad I did. The food was so lovely. I had king prawn satay and it was perfectly cooked. The portions were generous and the flavours were fresh and tasty. Prices were good and the service was warm and friendly. I fully recommend this place.

Best fish n chips in higher bebington

Tried this chippy for the first time. There are so many chippys in the area but few with a good food hygiene rating and I always look at customers reviews. There's a long wait even if you telephone the order through but its totally worth it. Its a little gem of a chippy, perfect crispy chips, gorgeous none greasy curry, lovely salt and pepper ribs. All fresh, good portions and so tasty. Look forward to going back.

Amazing quality, taste and portions

Not sure why but the quality of the Salt and Pepper King Prawns has gone down dramatically. They used to be delicious butterfly type ones but now seem to be the same as they us in the other meals and are tasteless and bland. Also priority seems to be given to telephone orders so you can stand at the counter for 30 mins before you are even asked what you want. People often walk out. Shame.

Very large portions but good value for money. Fish was a good size and the batter was nice and crispy and well seasoned. Curry sauce was lovely and spicy. Chips tasted a little over done for my liking, but my wife liked them crispy.

Regular visitor to this chippy, the food is amazing. We have tried a number of various dishes and have never been let down plus the chips are the best we have ever tasted!!! Always cooked fresh, unlike some chip shops!

the meals here are fantastic and beautifully cooked we love the beef in sweet chilli sauce the beef is not that jelly type that i hate chips are cooked perfect and its spotless not like some

I always try to telephone order early because it’s always so busy. I ordered over the phone and it still took an hour to get my food when I arrived, but it’s so flipping tasty!!!

Fantastic food! Fish is gorgeous, chips are the best as stated in another review. King prawn curry and fried rice lovely. The curry sauce is really good. Best of all though....salt and pepper king prawns!!!

Been a few times now, after struggling to find a consistent Chinese takeaway. So far so good, good is tasty, good size portions and reasonably priced. Hopefully it continues in this vain, but so far so good.

Not had a Chinese takeaway from here before so thought I'd give it a try. Reasonably priced and enough food to share The sweet and sour chicken is worth trying Would get another meal from here

I can highly recommend the chicken sweetcorn soup and salt and pepper chicken wings, great value too.

Regular visitor, find the food always top quality, reasonable price and good quantities. We find the chips particularly good, re-fried instead of re-heated. Small waiting area, recommend pre-ordering food over the phone.
