ordered food and it took about an hour and a half to come. When it came toast was literally charcoal! we asked for no tomatoes in breakfasts and they put tomatoes in 2 of the breakfasts also asked for mushrooms and they didn’t put mushrooms on. I called and had to speak to 3 different people who kept taking the phone off eachother and all were very rude didn’t resolve my problem told i was going to be waiting ages because they were busy even though it was there fault and they continued to say just get a refund through just eat. Never ordering again! Hash browns also had green inside 🤢

We use Cafe Cross The Mersey for a number of our corporate events and yesterday we had our annual team Christmas Lunch. Whilst we would usually go out to a local restaurant for our Christmas Lunch we decided to use Cafe Cross The Mersey as we're aware of their very high standard of food. The dinner was absolutely fantastic. Huge portions, high quality produce and expertly presented. The beef in particular literally fell apart in your mouth. I would highly recommend this company for any catering requirements you may have. A huge thankyou to John, Laura and the rest of their team who highly organised and professional. We're already looking forward to doing it again next year! 5*

Full marks for a terrific Christmas lunch provided as a corporate order to a Liverpool office. Huge portions ( 2 meats) with all , and I mean all, the trimmings . Not just my individual taste - but the view of everyone who attended. A very special meal. I fully recommend . Thumbs up !

Been a while since last visit to this cafe. This time was told I could not use my Tastecard as you withdrew from the scheme over 12 months ago and informed me it was Tastecard's error not removing this establishment from advertisments. I therefore cannot phathom to understand why you have not taken it upon yourselves to rectify this issue with Tastecard considerings you even mentioned other customers keep coming and you have to tell them card is not warranted. Nevertheless, ordered two tuna melts which seemed overpriced but expected substancial baguettes, when they arrived it was a quarter the size of a full baguette with a plateful of lettuce. In conclusion a very overpriced cafe, small portions of food served and poor management especially relating to the Tastecard issue.I have thought long and hard about this review but since learning from the waitress that customers just keep coming in and its been over 12 months since you withdrew from the scheme I felt its no excuse and its like your luring customers in under false pretences hoping they will just order anyway which incidentally like a fool we did and paid heavily for it.

Had a pleasant day out in Liverpool, with my husband, travelling by ferry. On the way back, we decided to call in to Cafe Cross the Mersey for coffee and a scone. The very friendly girl who served us said that we could have a full afternoon tea for just an extra £4, which was better value for money, so we did! This was an excellent decision, as the afternoon tea was absolutely delicious - fresh sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, and two cakes each, along with good hot coffee. Because the food was all freshly prepared, we had to wait a while, so the waitress brought us more coffee, on the house. The cafe is clean, bright and welcoming and the staff are friendly, efficient and helpful. We have visited before and can say that they also serve a delicious home-made Scouse. Fabulous!!

Having not visited this cafe in a while my friend and I (on a Groupon) decided to re-visit it and was so glad we did. I've been many times and each time seems to improve. The staff are lovely and friendly the food, made from fresh every day, is amazing so much so that I had to take a photo of our Afternoon Tea prior to demolishing the lot-actually had to take some home with us! It's taken a while to perfect the afternoon tea with little tweets along the way. It's better to book so all items are on hold until you come. The price of this is easily in line with other places but the quality here is superb. My only gripe (each time) is its right next to the kids play area and can become noisey even when sitting on the leather couches. If you've got kids then just go for it, meals are very reasonably priced and the kids would love it. Its best to avoid kids times if you want a more adult quiet time. Well done guys. This Cafe has been Newly Transformed from the greasy spoon cafe of the old owners to a Superior collection of New Young Dedicated Hands of Owners and Chefs who take their food and Cafe very seriously in deed. They make every item themselves from high quality ingredients each day and served by friendly helpfull waitress service. The newly decorated Cafe with soft brown Leather comfy couches along with bistro tables and chairs. Menues are on tables but a more comprehensive list is on the wall boards behind the counter from were you order. I have visited this Cafe on many occasions and tasted both the hot and cold food and there is always the same quality and effort put in every dish. The most expensive item on the menu is for afternoon tea which is at the same going rate as in other establishments of approximately £12 per person. Beautifully presented with fresh over stuffed sandwhiches, the most amazing warm homemade scones with clotted cream and jam and lastly a selection of fresh cake slices The rest of the Menu is very generously priced at under £8. Great variety on menu to choose from including home made traditional Neapolitan pizza, fantastic home made burger patties, hot toasted sandwhiches and paninnes, wraps and of course their famouse Scouse which is served on all the ferry cruises. In the mornings they serve a small breakfast menu ideal for ferry passengers waiting for the ferry commute to Liverpool. If looking for a quick light bite then there are freshly pre-packed sandwhiches and bakery selection. New for the Christmas period are the very large individual festive mince pies. Can't finish this review without mentioning the Lavazza coffee. If you think you've tasted Lavazza coffee before well these barista's are fully trained by Lavazza. This coffee is the best Lavazza coffee I've tasted. The only downside to this Cafe is perhaps it's location, which is right next to what can be a noisy children's indoor play area and the front of the cafe is often mistaken as a "ferry waiting room" which it most certainly is not. As both doors in these areas are open it can not only be noisy but also quite cold. There are plans in the making for a new entrance. There is access to the cafe directly in to the children's play area so the doors can remain closed. Changing the entrance away from the ferry and closing the doors or with larger signs for the cafe entrance would perhaps solve this.Considering it's only been just over six months since this gem on the Mersey opened it's doors with its new owners and staff, the sign of this being a Cafe to weather the storm seems highly likely and long may it do so.
