Fish dinner. It all intermingled into a wet mess creating Soggy batter. The women in the background talk shouting like 10 seagulls chasing a sandwich was massively annoying. Won’t be back

We have been before and have thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. So having raved to friends about The Hesketh arms we took them today. Atmosphere was drab, everywhere very cold, fire not lit and a very chilly dining area. Service as ever was wonderful, food was dreadful, changes on the menu since last time we visited. 2 of our group had fish pie, they renamed it fish soup with a pastry crust. Whilst packed with fish it was so watery inside a spoon was needed to eat it. My Steak and Guiness pie sounded very inviting on a chilly day outside and almost as cold inside. The pie arrived full of meat with a small jug of gravy, the gravy was tasteless, watery and really not the standard I expect from the Hesketh. Fish goujons were ok, tartare sauce wasn’t. I used to love the tartare sauce we used to be served with last year. Vibrant colour and truly a great taste. Not this one. Dessert Fudge was horrendously sweet, hard and shattered when try to eat an eve with the dessert for supplied. When eating it just disintegrated into thousands of sugary particles, sorry that wasn’t fudge. More like a sugar cube!!! This is all constructive crisis, we love the Hesketh Arms. Always obey and inviting with amazing food. Such an embarrassing visit with friends. Not the standards we’ve enjoyed before.

Dirty glasses, first had lipstick still on it and the second had crusted food still stuck on it. Food was okay after sitting on the serving hatch for 15 minutes except for the Nachos which was clearly the smashed left over content out of the bottom of the bag which had to be eaten with a spoon.

Having enjoyed meals here before, yesterday's offering was awful. Plates were swimming in grease,bacon full of fat and cold on my BLT, sent it back to be addressed, and it arrived back exactly the same. Childs fish fingers all batter not much fish. Was told we have a new chef,well your new chef isn't a chef,and doesn't care about the food he sends out. Very disappointed, felt sorry for the lovely waitress, who kept apologising, I said its not your fault. So will I be going again, not if its the same awful food. Sorry you need to up your game.

Food arrived hot and was very tasty it’s a shame the cheesecake was aswell totally ruined mess in the box

Went today and can honestly say it was lovely. We both ordered soup and a sandwich, we should have listened, the sandwich had to be taken home as we were that full. The soup was made fresh, so there is a wait but well worth it, homemade croutons and barm cake also. Fair price for fresh food. No complaints from us… Compliments to the chef. We will be back

Ordered on uber eats, food was a no show. No answer when trying to call to sort the issue out. Bunch of cowboys, don't bother ordering from them.

BE CAREFUL OF PARKING TIME. Only 30 mins parking allowed and signage isnt obviously visible when you enter. fill up, buy some snack and get a coffee and you could well be over the 30mins limit allowed. Not long enough for a coffee to be drunk at a reasonable pace if 'eating in' Won't be using this again as there is no way to 'refund' for genuine visitors if you receive a ticket.

Called in for a bacon and egg bap for me and sausage bap for my wife What a mistake Bacon and egg cold, sausages cremated and 2 coffees lukewarm Avoid this place at all costs!@@@ At 10am I expected better

Have used this takeaway a number of times over the years and have always been happy with the food. Thought we would treat ourselves after a busy day. We ordered chopsuey rolls, ribs, seaweed , prawn crackers and two meals.The two meals were chefs special in Szechuan sauce and chicken in sweet and sour sauce. We had are ordered delivered, after eating the starters we found we had no rice with the two meals. We phoned up and were told we hadn’t ordered rice, we have never ordered rice before and always received it. We obviously understand you may be charged extra for fried rice, noodles or chips but in any establishment I have used before you receive boiled rice with any meal ordered. The food was really poor the ok sauce on the ribs and both meals tasted the same, unfortunately Food 4U will no longer receive our custom again.

Bought 2 meals on sat 3rd may chicken and pineapple and chicken fried rice and chips both meals warm chicken and pineapple tasteless chicken looked pale fried rice was ok one plus for that chicken fried rice again tasteless chips soggy and look warm probably lunch times spent.£25.00 plus never again thanks for nothing......
