3rd visit to bull and dog , even better this time , staff very attentive and polite , nice touch chef came out of kitchen to ask how was the meal will definitely be back again

Great service! Friendly staff and the food was a cut above for a relaxing afternoon lunch. We had food from the lunch menu which includes a drink from a selection offered, for £1. The meals were reasonable priced and cooked and presented well and most importantly served promptly! Well worth a visit if passing through.

Served by Jess. We walked in (no booking) Really nice environment, good music, good energy very welcoming staff. Food was lovely, had 2 burgers and a kids meal, all come out piping hot and delicious, generous servings and drinks were also spot on. Served by Jess who was warm, welcoming and helpful, as was another member of staff but didn’t grab her name - they also had a christening party at the same time so was busy, was really nice to see staff engaging with the kids at the party too. Only my second time here and both times have been great. Will 100% return.

Arrived around 7.15pm, given menus by staff. Ordered drinks and perused menus. Went to order food at 7.40pm only to be told they aren’t doing food now as the chef has gone home! Why did the staff wait until we tried to order before telling us this? Total waste of time, staff had a couldn’t care less attitude, no apologies given. There’s always some problem at this place, been like this for years despite many changes of management. Avoid at all costs!

Service and staff are terrible, 2.5 hour wait on food which did not come with an apology or rectification in any way. Just the full bill. Very dissapointing and will not be returning.

Meal was awful the fish was over cooked and hard the baked potatoe was powdery and dry. The salad pitiful a child could have produced better. Definitely will not be visiting again!!!!

Greeted by friendly staff who couldnt have been more helpful. We ordered Sunday roasts for the family which were perfect no complaints at all! A great overall meal definately will be recommending and returning myself in the future. Thank you for the lovely dinning experience

Used to love this place but went today and the food and service where appalling Ordered 2 drinks which never came and when the food arrived I had to go hunting for salt and pepper and cutlery I got sausage and mash and as you can see from the photo the sausages were cheap crap and tasted horrid.... my dog was with us and wouldn't even eat itMy mum got bacon chops which she said were nice but her husband's cod and chips looked anemic and he said it was tasteless Won't be rushing back anytime soon which is a shame as we used to love that place

Having not visited this local pub for a while we thought we would treat ourselves to lunch today. Big mistake. The food here has always been good value, tasty and plenty of choice but there has obviously been a few changes.The pies used to be lovely with real home made taste but are now mass production type with rock hard pastry and gristle in the meat and "gravy" so thick it would not pour. The menu offers a 2 course special but nowhere does it say that you have to order your desert at the same time as your main so an extra £3 was charged. How anyone could be expected to eat meringue that was too hard to break with a spoon I do not know. We won't be visiting again

Husband started to tuck into his Sunday Roast, only to find what looked like a long hair extension of somesort, needless to say he refused to eat it.

We are a football team from Cheshire and had never been to this pub but Sabrina and her staff were very weloming and service was second to none. They reserved an area for us away from the diners which was thoroughly appreciated as we didnt want to disturb any other diners. The food was and hospitality was a credit to the pub. Food was disappointing. Wrong meal brought out so had to wait whilst the rest of the family started eating. When the food came out the scampi was hot and the chips were luke warm.The desert was not much better as the salted caramel on the fudge cake was much too salty so couldn’t eat it all. Won’t be eating there again!

We called in tonight without booking, for a table for 3 people for dinner. The pub has a warm and cosy feel with a really comfortable seating/dining area. Service was fast and efficient, our food was hot, tasty and great quality - excellent meat on the mixed grill and bacon chops were delicious. The apple crumble and custard desert was the perfect finish. It was all really good value for money. We will definitely be back!

We went here with friends we'd not seen for over 5 years. The company,food and atmosphere was really great. Food was served very quick and extremely tasty.would recommend. Will be returning again soon

Called in for evening meal with friends around 5.30 Sadly there were two families who's children were being allowed to make a huge amount of noise, assisted by noisy toys on their tables. Now I have many grandchildren and love kids but this was bad so we moved as far away as possible. The menu is very limited and certainly not as it was when I last visited almost a year ago. Service was fine however when I asked for something to use to eat my Prawn Cocktail with the waiter seemed bemused by my request finally bringing me a large spoon. OK if you have kids with you but sadly seems like a nice setting is wasted on average food.

When we pulled up we were pleasantly surprised by the decor and great outdoor space for kids. Really looking forward to trying lunch. The menu is basic at best. The food is all frozen, cheap rubbish and they can't have an actual chef. I wonder if they even know what a chef is. It's all ding, microwave food. Iceland would do better. The worst thing is the price for this rubbish is extortionate!! £10 for frozen fish and frozen chips, no garnish..nothing!! Would never ever go for food again. Total waste of money and awful value.

On the 14th September we had our wedding reception here, Sabrina and her team have been fantastic from the date of booking.We used their Marquee, which had its own private bar and toilets, as well as a BBQ. The Buffet was served on time, all Cutlery, wine glasses and drinks where also supplied. The staff where all on hand when we needed them, our private bar had two staff members, which were very friendly, helpful and professional. All food included in the buffet was great, we all enjoyed the spread. The BBQ was served hot, no complaints from the 50 or so people that joined us. We cannot praise the team enough. We was concerned about the chill in the Marquee before the wedding, but It was a surprise to see that the team had hired a heater just incase.Throughout the planning of the reception, Sabrina was on hand with local suppliers of Entertainment, and other wedding suppliers, making our day the best that it could be.. We cannot praise the Bull and Dog team enough..Thank you so much.

I wish I had taken a pic before it was taken away. Just ordered the beetroot burger bland and way too much cheese so I only ate half of it and gave up! The chips were under cooked so I didn't touch them. Shes just took a full plate away and not asked if everything was ok. So I'm assuming this is the norm?!

Visit here me and my wife and my little boy . We arrive about 5:35 pm . We ordered our food and drinks we ordered starter and main . And we ask that if we can get my little boy food with our starter. We waited for 45 minutes to receive our starter with out my little boy meal . We hv to ask the young girl for it so we start eat our starter and we finished but we still did not receive kids meal. The young girl come over with a different meal and said this is my little boy meal witch is we didnt ordered this we had to wait for like 20 minutes til his meal arrive and 10 more minutes for our main arrive witch was absolutely awful did not look like the menu and start test it was awful . Very row chicken test horrible I took my plat and I went to see if i can see the manager sow a lady walking and ask me if am okay and she was talking to me when she got food in her mouth look like she was busy eating inside and I explained to her what's wrong with my meal. She did not help me at all say aw this is what we got . She was like this is what we hv . And just try to finish the conversation quickly I think she was like want to go bk finish her dinner. Not worse it do drive all the way for all this . Will Never come back .

We called at 5pm the only ones in the restaurant we ordered our food and 15 mins later it arrived. Wrong pie for me so I asked for it to be replaced. 20 mins later the correct pie arrived looking awful. I took the top off to find 3 small pieces of chicken and 2 even smaller pieces of ham. My partner had chicken masala and said you'd get more in a Tesco meal deal.Would never recommend this place to any of our friends.Absolutely appalingGive it a miss.

Went as a family and grateful that dog could be included, obviously short staffed but seemed ok to begin with, meals arrived and the "pork" chop, bacon or gammon chops ?? were not cooked through, returned the meal to kitchen, same plate was returned with the half eaten egg, chips and peas gone cold , meat supposedly cooked but still not good texture, reported to staff who did pursue with the kitchen without success, made a formal complaint and weren't charged but remained shocked that the food could be returned cold and still inedible. Won't be going again !

I booked this restaurant for Fathers day as a change Checked the reviews obviously before committing However on a very rainy Sunday we entered via a small doorway which was filled with smokers so was greeted with a haze of smoke - being an ex smoker myself didn’t help - so not a good startThe restaurant was almost empty apart from a larger group than ours finishing up. Not much atmosphere Waitress was lovely taking our drink and food order Variety of food was limitedGluten free adult was given a kitchen guide to food to see what she could eat. Quite bizarre. Surely a little GF sign the same as V for vegetarians would be just as easy to accommodate on the main menu ?Slightly disappointing- despite having rung up beforehand to discuss GF options. Didn’t stay for dessertPrice was reasonable

We came here for a family get together and had a table of around 10ppl.We took a while to order as we were waiting for one of our group to arrive but the waiter made sure we had drinks orders in when each person came in. When we finally ordered the starters did take a while to come out which we didn't mind as we were happily drinking. However when it came to the mains we had about three plates to our table and then an extremely long wait for the rest. Some meals needed sending back as the fish was cold on one and the other needed sending back twice because the egg kept coming out hard. When we questioned where the rest of the meals were we didn't really get an answer just an apology and a continued wait. Overall the food was nice when they fixed the order, the poor guy who was bringing our food really did try and make sure we were happy once it came out right and there was a great atmosphere with kareoke on but there were a lot of mistakes being made. I think we would come back but maybe not as a group party as it was unorganised. But other than that we did enjoy our night.

Excellent food, lovely pub and and service with smile, thought it was a bit expensive but then changed my mind when food came, fab value for money.

It was apparent it was busy in the day & the staff seemed lethargic so barely cracked a smile , meal came with salad & new potatoes which was basically a bunch of dock leaves & the spuds that new they had been lifted from the ground & never seen a drop of boiled water, returned the food to be brought it back in more or less the same condition, then had to argue the toss as not willing to pay full price , got a reluctant £5 off the meal but no apology , need to up your game won’t be going again , had nicer chicken in maccies

Went today for a family lunch man welcomed us on front as we came in ordered drinks which was fine he seemed to be doing all the work ordered food took forever to come bought starters with main meal food was not very good be a long time before we return bit good not fault man on front of house he was on his own doing all the work he said as staff phoned in sick

There is a dearth of outdoor pubs for kids in the area, so the provision here is excellent. Often slow and chaotic with food service, but other than that a great place.

Eat here due to my Goddaughters First Holy Communion celebration. There was a lot of people to cater for which the pub did very well with a hot buffet of lasagna, curry and burger and chicken nuggets. Was a slight delay of food being served but no real issues. Service was quick and food tasty. Would go again

After waiting over 45 minutes for our food, we were incredibly disappointed. The cheese and cherry tomato melt on a baguette, came as a ciabatta roll with large tomatoes and wasn't melted properly. The portion sizes were very small considering the prices. The staff didn't apologise for the lateness of the meal until a few minutes before it came out, using key language well-known to satisfy guests when the meal has not been started. The meal arrived after the couple next to us, and they didn't arrive until after we had ordered our food. The dessert was appalling, and was left due to how bad it was, although it was a large portion. We definitely won't be returning again!

It was a late lunchtime on Tuesday 14th May. We called because we understood it had changed hands, it hasn’t! Just the decor has changed. We both ordered the Chicken (ha), bacon, lettuce & tomato on brown bread. I needed a magnifying glass to see the meat. I expected wrongly a slice of chicken & a slice of bacon. WRONG! It was tiny little bits of chicken & bacon, almost shredded but not quite. Should have learned our lesson from the last time we visited. Will not be going back there even if famished!

It was my first time visiting the Bull & Dog & it's a shame to say it will be the last. The start took half an hour to arrive, we ordered the garlic mushrooms on the toasted ciabatta. When it finally arrived it was like a sponge not toasted at all & we were also given off lettuce. Limp & brown salad, there is no excuse for that. For a 'chef' to send out salad looking like that, well its beyond me. The mains took another 20 minutes to come. My burger was so dry & the bun was burnt. My sisters steak was tough & the peppercorn sauce was one of the worst I'd ever tasted. It was like water & so so peppery. It's a nice pub for a drink, nice outdoor area but that's about it.

Was so let down after our previous visit .but we found out it was under new management.and they seemed to getting on their feet

We recently dined hear and liked what we seen. We opted for an easy meal scampi twice and kids fish / chips with drinks 1 wine 1 pint 1 soft drink all coming in at £35 +/-.The food was good pub grub and came in good time. We sat outside so we could supervise and play on the park area with our daughter which was good.We will definitely go back and well worth a visit on a warm day.Only suggestion would be to have a play area for smaller children as there isn’t anything for little kiddies say 3 years olds.

Called a few times as we were staying on the local campsite. The sun was shining so we grabbed a table in the huge beer garden but unfortunately due to the bank holiday they stopped serving food early as the place was extremely busy. The place was kept very tidy and we found the staff very helpful and friendly The pub has a lot of character and history inside which we were told about by one of the locals, check out the main beam in the bar that people have put coins in. Such a lovely well run pub just wished we could have sampled to food .

My friend and i visited last night for our evening meal at 17:30, firstly the wasnt any tables reserved despite me calling to book at lunch time, we were advised to find a seat and purchase some drinks which we endeavored to take seats and tables outside. I then went inside to explane that we were happy to remane for the duration so the was no requirement for staff to find tables then to be advised about a fouty minute wait for food and advised to order at the bar when ordering drinks. We took this advise and ordered our food separatley as we were paying by card. My friend ordered immediatly after my self we sat back down and awaited our food order. I glanced across to notice broken glass on the floor and a child milling around there in her bare feet, i explaned to her the was broken glass and went inside and spoken to a waitress what i had spotted, she clamed that she was aware of it, i requested that the glass be cleared up as its in a childrens play area and a child around there in bare feet that its unsafe, her solution was to block the area off with tables.Mine and my two daughters food arrived but not my friends or her sons, we continued to eat our food which was cooked perfectly, however half way through my friend and her son still had not been served the garlic bread starter nor their meal my friend had ordered and payed for, i proceeded to go inside and inform the staff of the situation and their explanation was that because we had paid sepparatly the food was prepared sepparatly, my reply was then but she paid immediatley after me on the same till i was then told that it was at the bar till and the is also a resturant till taking food orders at the same time so other food orders were going in at the same time, my reply was this was for the same table number same till it cant be difficult ive done bar work and taken food orders and fully aware of the fact when food orders from the same table are taken kitchen staff are aware of this and food is prepared accordingly to timeings. They chased up the order and the mains were brought out followed by the garlic bread starter. My two children were ready for their deserts one was an order of rasbery sorbet from the adult menue the other doughnut fingers with chocolate dipp from the childrens menue, the doughnut fingers came along with the desert of ice cream my friend ordered for her son, at that point we made the staff aware that he was only just starting his mains and that it would be melted by the time he gets to eat it, they took it away and i advised that my other daughter still didnt have the desert id paid for and my friend still hadnt recieved her starter, they promptly arrived with the sorbet and the garlic bread. My five year old daughter ate her doughnut fingers then went off to play and was growled at by a huge pitbull type of dog so rather than have a confrontation and a scene with the owners i spoke to the staff saying im aware youre a dog friendly pub however i dont agree that dogs should be aloud where children play as this dog looked large and was agressive towards my daughter because she was about three foot from it, their response was we cant stop dogs from growling, my response was you can ask owners of agressive dogs to move from the play area. I didnt see one person aproach that owner, we felt anxious about the safety of pur children and once they had eaten we promply left.

I recently organized a family gathering in the Restaurant of this good old pub for 21 people. The menu is adequate for all tastes my preference was the Beef and ale pie with chips and peas, followed by a superb Apple Crumble with Custard.

Nice friendly staff very reasonable priced food, clean & tidy. Food was nice shame their isn’t a good vote as it’s a good. Outside play area is a bonus for families.

Whist not a huge selection of food on the menu, the food they have is really nice. Had the burger which was made from high quality ingredients and tasted delightful. The staff were very friendly and pleasant and the service was efficient. The pub inside is quite nice with beams in the roof and a rustic feel. Would have given five stars but unfortunately their was a rowdy group in the bar area which ruined the atmosphere.

Went early so as to be sure of a table without booking. Hubby ordered a steak whilst I had ordered a starter of prawn cocktail!, I know but I luv them my starter arrived it looked very nice but the cucumber looked old, the knife I had wouldn’t cut through the bed of lettuce, some of the prawns were really chewy so not tasting really fresh as you’d expect. No sooner was my napkin put down I had dishes removed and then served straight away with our mains, no breathing space given at all, his steak was fine my scampi left a lot to be desired, looked old and oven browned, both of us not that impressed and won’t visit again. Been when first opened not noticed any improvement

We were very disappointed with our recent visit. We called in on the off-chance. The interior is very nice and clean John who served us was very polite we would give both pub and staff 4 stars But the food we would only give one star my wife had steak pie and chips which was OK I had the mix grill what a mistake it had what looked and tasted like warmed up oven chips the bacon chop was like a piece of highly salted Cardboard my chicken breast was missing and the steak was chewy all in all very poor meal

Booked a family celebration of 15, service was awful, people finished starters whilst mains coming out and yet 4 people still hadn’t got starters! Two mixed grills missing 3 items each which where brought out on a side plate! Mixed grills where like warm chips warmed up! 15 minutes after finishing our mains 5 main meals still hadn’t arrived! Poor waitress was on her own, we where the only table eating at first and food was still staggered! The birthday cake was brought out and I had to ask for my dessert! Poor organisation and not enough staff knowing a large party was booked in, won’t be rushing to go back.

Great “local” atmosphere and we’ve all food we’ve had is well presented and delicious!! Breakfasts are wonderful. Tuesday Quiz nights are popular and a good laugh.

Friday lunchtime during schools' half-term.Seated quickly by pleasant staff though did seem a bit short-handed as place was busy.Took drinks orders immediately and soon back for food order.Smaller portion lunch menu at £6, had sausage and mash and bacon joint, both quite tasty but distinctly small and not for the hungry. Main problem was that it was barely hot when served and not at all when finished; suspect meals had been sitting waiting to be brought out as heard service bell from kitchen but quite a while before arrived.Decent varied choices on main menu but would not have been pleased to pay that much for tepid food.Staff did their best but seemed to struggle a bit.Won't be rushing back.

Had an afternoon here for a family function, very nice setting, staff were very helpful, quick in setting up the buffet and ensuring there was plenty on the table at all times. Couldn't fault it.

The food and service here was great. I had the best tomato soup ever. My wife is vegan and she had plenty of choice Well worth a visit

Had a lovely Sunday lunch again. Ordered the big plate for 2. Mash, 3 lots of veg, roasted potatoes, 3 different meats, 4 Yorkshire puddings and a large jug of gravy. It was scrumptious. Would highly recommend. Only one fault, no room for dessert 😲.

We arranged a large family get together, John and the team took care of everything. They gave us an area we could all sit as a group, the food and atmosphere was excellent. Our daughter has also booked her christening here too, as it has the space to cater for families and friends, and also cosy enough for couples or just to meet for a drink. Thanks guys. Had a top meal. Great food, steak was lovely and the choc fudge cake was amazing. The atmosphere was so nice, went for valentines night and they had a live guitarist, great touch! Would highly recommend it.

We called in on a Friday afternoon and had a lovely lunch, couldn’t fault the food or drink prices were reasonable and we have planned to visit again soon, pub has had a brilliant renovation and is homely and warm and the staff were helpful with wine recommendations .well done guys x

We eat at the BULL AND DOG every week since it opened and we can only praise them for their hospitality and friendliness The food is excellent with amazing prices. The staff is very helpful and polite. Their is a lot to do for the kids and thy got so many plans for the summer to entertain the them. I can only say the best pub with a lot of parking and a lot to do for the kids. Do your self a favour and go and have a meal, you won’t regret it and it will become you local in so many great ways. I was lucky enough to be asked to sing at the Bull and Dog as they have live music on Saturdays. I brought my family to check it out first and we absolutely love it. The staff are really friendly and the food is gorgeous. Dogs are welcome which is a bonus. Our experience of this quaint little place is nothing short of delightful. Recommended.

Went yesterday and had a wonderful Sunday roast. Extra gravy included without asking _ lovely . Service was good and dog sat with us.

Cant fault the welcome the staff are really friendly and helpfull, when we visited the carpet needed a good vacuuming but generally the inside is very good and well set out with the option of sectioning areas off for private functions. We had a traditional Sunday lunch to share, this comes with 3 meats (good) and vegatable which were a little to much on the undercooked side for us but its a matter of taste. You can park directly outside the pub which is full of atmosphere.

Went for a meal for the first time here last night.The staff were run off there feet and as a result made the odd small mistake with the order but not a problem.The interior of the pub was stunning and spotless!The food, sadly, was the problem; my fish and chips was below par but eatable.The fish was a bit over cooked but ok but the chips looked like cheap frozen oven chips and the presentation was poor.My husband had the pork roast and too be honest it looked like it was cooked hours ago and left to keep warm.The Yorkshire looked like a frozen one and he couldn’t eat the mash as it tasted like weird to my hubby. Also he said the roasties tasted like cheap frozen ones. Personally, I don’t like pork but that didn’t look appetising it looked dark grey and lacked texture.I had a dessert which was an Eaton Mess type dessert.It tasted really nice; tin strawberries, cream, a strawberry type ice cream and merrangue but it had loads of hundreds and thousands sprinkled over the top, which made it look cheap and from 1970’s trifle!A great shame really because this place has lots of potential.I feel it’s the cook that lacks expertise and if the put less food on the plate but cooked it fresh then they would get a lot more custom.They have a lovely building well decorated and furnished and the waiting on staff or very good.Sadly we won’t be going back which is a great shame.

Been here quite a few times one of which was November for a family meal for roughly 15 of us for my youngest brothers birthday and the food is lovely, complete compliments to the chefs. Food has always come in good time with the exception of the large meal where they came in bits but was to be expected with so many of us on such a busy day. We've never been disappointed. Fairly priced drinks and added bonus that the place is so dog friendly as my dog loves a trip to the Bull&Dog and gives endless puppy eyes to get dog treats. Staff friendly and welcoming. Doing extremely well under the new management and they've completely turned the place around. Utter well done to Sabrina and Richie

After a lot of searching for a venue for our mums funeral wake we cannot thank Richie Sabrina Billy John and the team for all their help and support at this sad time. The buffet was really lovely with hot and cold food you did my mum proud as she always loved buffets.The room was perfect with lots of space to accommodate us and lovely roaring fires which was lovely given the weather was really wet and cold .We would definitely recommend Bull and Dog for a funeral but we have also had a lovely meal prior to the funeral and it's was delious especially the sausage and mash. It's a credit to you all. Thank you again Diane and Chris Adams.

Decided to eat out on Monday, glad we did really enjoyed our meal. We were greeted by the staff ordered a drink, I had a taster first as insure of the wine. The young lady who served our food was friendly and polite. A pleasure to visit and the staff are a credit to the Bull and Dog

Called in with family for tea.food was so so,portions very small,the chicken and ham pie was literally about 3 chips bigger than my kids burger and chips and chicken pieces and chips.other adults in our group had a sizzling platter again very very small portion and not sizzling when brought to the table.wont be somewere I will be rushing back too in a hurry

Had Sunday lunch there recently and found the staff friendly and helpful. Beef was beautifully cooked and there was plenty of vegetables and gravy. Will be going back.

So it was the first time I visited after the new management change. I ordered a pint of Diet Coke which was obviously full fat, normally this wouldn’t be serious but as a diabetic I can tell the difference. When I went back to the bar to exchange it they made me purchase a bottle of Diet Coke instead. We ordered nachos as a starter and mains to be separate they were brought out at the same time. The nachos were subpar at best, big portion, but drowned in cheese. Not even the good type of drowned. When they were brought the mains out for the second time they had obviously just been kept under a hot light for the time we had been eating the nachos. My sirloin was very dry and my friends chicken was the same. Very disappointed especially for the money we spent.

We were going to order Sunday lunch each but decided on the Sunday lunch platter. There was plenty, 3 different meats,3 veg, mash potato, roast potatoes, 4 Yorkshire puddings and lashings of gravy. We had never been here before so didn’t know what to expect. The meal was delicious, couldn’t find anything wrong with it. Staff very friendly and made sure everything was ok. I would definitely recommend and I will be going back. The only fault we had was it was a bit chilly so heating needs turning up a bit. Well done to the chef and all the staff.

Fabulous food,the giant Yorkshire pudding filled with braised beef was to die for 😋 amazing atmosphere friendly helpful staff would highly recommend!!!

Just had a meal with my husband and mother in law, I had the beef stew served in a Yorkshire pudding with mash green beans and red cabbage at least that what the menu says,it arrived with no mash no beans no cabbageWhen I asked for them the waitress said oh dose it say it comes with mash ect sorry the chef is new, my husband had steak and kidney pudding it was awful hard pudding a table spoon full of mash and dried up peas on the smallest plate I have ever seen, my mother in law had fish and chips from the smaller bites menu she had a fish as big as a fish finger about six chips and again dried up peas it was big enough for her as she is 86 but the CHIEF should be able to cook frozen peas at leastWill not be going back witch is a shame as the refurbishment is very nice.

Recently revisited the bull and dog as I heard it was under new management. Looking at the mixed reviews on trip advisor we thought we would give it the benefit of the doubt, I now wish we would not have bothered. After waiting An age to be severed a gentlemen came from which I presume was the kitchen he was slightly flustered, we ordered two Americano’s and took our seat in the dinning area as we was not directed on where to sit. After being told by the bar manger ( I think his name was John) that our coffees would be on the way, 15 minutes later when they arrived it was not what we ordered he presented us with two lattes.He Then had the audacity to say is that not what you ordered. He then asked do u want me to change them ( of course I did as it was not what we ordered). Unbelievably he brought the incorrect coffee’s a second time, it was only on the third attempt he got the order right. All in all it took us over 30 minutes to get coffee’s. No apologies from him, We where going to order food but after such a dismal services we decided to eat somewhere else. We will not be returning to this pub again !!

Such a nice refurb on this place, shame they havnt employed a chef instead of a microwave technician. It really does not take much to cook decent food. Everything seems a mismatch not much atmosphere unless you can call the loudmouths at the bar swearing there heads off entertaining. Shame really wanted to make this a family local.

Appalled by tonight’s events, went in (weren’t our choice of restaurant but the one we wanted was closed to prepare for evening) so driving past seen and went in after being left to look at menu for 20minutes we found out no mash for bangers and mash so another look at menu 20mins later orders taken again ordered pie no pie then 20mins later we finally gets an order through. Mains came mine was chicken tikka rice was cold and anyone who works in food knows how dangerous rice can be when only warmed up to a low temperature, the two burger meals where luke warm and the lamb kebab couldn’t be cut it was that tough. The manager John confirmed all this was not acceptable and offered us 50% off next time - pointless as I won’t be returning neither will the people I was with. The chef is supposedly from an agency we’ll be more prepared and get someone in properly because How tonight’s gone is a disgrace and yous are going to make people ill! John the manager was then bragging as if he was doing us a favour because he took the main meals off our bill - we didn’t eat them I had two mouthfuls of my bacteria riddled rice, the meals should of been taken off and I weren’t going to feel grateful over it neither. The owner Sabrina was being nice then when we she left us my partner walked past and she was talking about us and reading all good reviews I’m not bothered about good reviews I’m bothered how good was served tonight have yous never heard of a probe? Oh and even though we never complained I’ll let it be known on here and attach a pic yous sent dirty lettuce out with the starters! Phoning EHO first thing tomorrow because yous can’t serve meals the way yous did and I’m not having it on my head that others could get ill because of yous. No doubt a reply will be put on This denying it all wouldn’t expect any less tbh but do as yous please I won’t respond I’ll just go through EHO and hope that shambles that’s going on is fixed.

We quite often visit this place at the weekends. I love the beers, my wife loves the food and the kids love the dough sticks and the park. Winner all round!!

Called in for lunch and was impressed with the excellent refit. Still warm and friendly atmosphere but so much better, cleaner Etc. Table service was good and the staff pleasant. and the menu is very good with some excellent value dishes. This is a dog friendly pub and there are good play facilities for children outside. Certainly worth visiting again. My only complaint and not just at this place, almost everywhere, when I ask for lots and lot's of sugar I don't mean two tiny packets that don't add up to one teaspoon. Just bring a bowl please. It's the same all over and a real pain if you have a sweet tooth.

Just home from my birthday meal with 3 adults and 3 kids. Good vegetarian choice for my husband and good general all round menu with a good choice for the kids at a reasonable price. Staff were all lovely, friendly and helpful, and the food was good size and really tasty. We all really enjoyed our meals which were cooked fresh. Kids enjoyed playing in the garden on the kids area and the interior has been done lovely. Highly recommend! Thank you for a lovely evening xx

Visited 30th September with family and 2 young children aged 4 and 8. We all had Sunday roast which was well cooked and tasted fresh and home made. The vegetarian option was slightly dry but taste was good. Staff were attentive and we were not left waiting too long. Warm and friendly atmosphere and a very good guitarist played melodic tunes throughout the afternoon. Large well equipped and safe outdoor play area with swings, slides etc. within full view of windows; the children loved it. Very relaxing experience and no one was in a hurry to leave. The management team are delightful and very good hosts. First time visit but we will

my wife and i called in for lunch on the 28/09/18 she had the small fish and chips i had steak and ale pie. the meal was seved by a man who looked like he had been building a brick wall my pie and peas had been microwaved to death her fish and chips looked ok except for the amount of peas a spoon full on both plates but microwaved again told two of the staff they laughed and said we will pass it on .we will not be going back.

took my two granddaughters out for tea on the 15/9/18 i had heard so many good reviews about this place we ordered our starters and meals starters came myself and granddaughter had the chicken starter and one had garlic flatbread we really enjoys them but as soon as plates went back they came right out with mains never gave us a chance to digest the starters but we got stuck in my hubby's pie was a solid mass it had been blasted to death in the microwave my blue and black burger was no better only i think they had microwave the bits of frozen mushrooms and left them lying around before putting on my burger they were a load of mush quite disgusting put me off eating it my granddaughter had the steak and couldnt eat it she left half when i told the waitress all they offered was to replace the meal but with what the same horrid stuff we had before noway and i will never set foot in there again was so disappointing

Hadn't been here since the refurbishment but finally got round to going yesterday. The new set out is lovely and the garden equipment is perfect for keeping little ones busy. Food was better than ever and service was great considering they were so busy. Would highly recommend to families.

The food was good. The chips were hot and fluffy. We were well looked after. The friendly proprietor told me some of the pub's history and showed me the old war-time photos of the pub, and the area, that are on the walls of the snug. More than just lunch.

Called in on our way home from Liverpool weekend August Bank Holiday Monday.

My meal was served I had 10 chips on the plate a pie which looked like it had been on more than 1 plate Nd a few peas. I asked the waitress if she thought that was acceptable she said no. I asked for the manager . A gentleman came out and said the manager was not available, We were told that the chips were weighed. And it was s standard meal. My husbands was not any better we sent them back. Paid for our drinks and would not go back. I posted the photo of meal on Facebook.if I can find it I will post it on here. Unfortunately I have deleted the photo.

Visited the pub to check out the new refurb and grab some lunch. Place looks lovely! We were seated quickly at a table in the corner of the restaurant, which was nice and quiet. Ordered drinks at the bar and lunch, which was lovely and came quickly. Pub chips are great and the chicken we ordered was well-cooked. Staff are very friendly and quick to take orders and help. Will be visiting again soon!

very wide choice of meals - we tried most of them. Good beer too - mainly local.

Luch for 7? out of which 2 meals half edible?not been since another revamp/ change of owners? sandwiches chicken/bacon fat, uncooked? after one meal ordered unavailable she chose half chicken chips and peas. came over cooked? no peas only steak and mushroom sandwiches where mushroom and fat/grissle, been a while will be even longer till we try again, no help from staff management could care less, no offer for alternative? total waste of time and effort, if simple food is beyond the chef what chance do you have?, save money eat at home...

Called here tonite food terrible after waiting a hour will not be returning or telling friends about comeing here

Recently visited again as the first time was gorgeous and once again couldnt fault. Staff all friendly and polite and the food was delicious. Will definitely be returning

Have recently attended the newly refurbed bull and dog, the young waitress was lovely that’s were it ended though. Food was awful. I had bacon chops, I had to clean the fat off them as they were swimming in it when it arrived at the table. Garden peas have been cooked to the point where they can’t be cooked anymore. My wife’s burger looks like the stogiest meat ever. She said it’s nothing special.

Lovely friendly place, called for a drink and ended up having a meal, super friendly staff. Food was really nice and good size portions. Well stocked bar and nice wine.

My wife and i ,visited here late afternoon,pub empty which was a shame,ordered chicken and ham pie,when arrived wrong pie, swap was made,microvaved pie ,soggy pastry,hard to cut,powdered gravy with lumps in,uncooked frozen chips,sad,we will not be going back,,

Lovely refurbished pub and we were very impressed on our first visit. Unfortunately we have been back twice since and the service has been awful. Second visit, which was a quiet midweek lunchtime We waited over an hour and no food arrived, after I asked about it. it did eventually artive but with no apology. Third time, wrong meals were served and 1 meal did not arrive, also no cutlery given. What a shame, it could be a great place. We will not be giving it another chance.

Called here with my 5 children at the weekend the staff here where all welcoming, and lovely couldn't ask for a better atmosphere, the two youngest where playing in the play area which was clean an tidy, as myself an husband could sit an relax, enjoying our drinks, the food an service was excellent, an the waitress couldn't help us enough, an made sure we where all OK, I would defo recommend, an we will be back soon. X

Turned up to the pub just after lunch time, it was quite busy and busting with energy, after being greeted by the gentlemen at the bar we got a seat outside, we were handed the menu and the drinks came promptly. After a 25 Minutes wait the food came, it exceeded our expectations and we will definitely be back. Such friendly staff and congrats to the new management, really spruced the place up.
