Popped in for a pint or two whilst in town, busy atmosphere, friendly bar staff with ample drinks to hand, didn't try the food but from what i could see it looked nice.

Had an amazing experience at spoons today food was amazing and our server sue has great customer service and personality

Update Tues 10 Sept. Made up to see super Sue again, looking after the customers to her usual super high standard. At a busy time she still manages to keep everyone’s table clean and customers happy! Lovely brekka thank you x A favourite of ours for good old pub grub and a convenient location. Shout out to Sue Briggs who goes over and above to make sure customers are well cared for, and consistently gives a fantastic service. We usually only see her on Sundays and can really tell the difference - the place is immaculate! Thanks Sue.

Fab food , sevice with a smile and good company

10 Sep. 2024 Update ... We've just finished another superb breakfast here at the Court Leet and felt the urge to leave another positive review. Delighted to see Sue doing the rounds again. Fussing over all the customers, as usual, tables sparkling clean, a friendly overall ambience - despite a dreary day outside. Management, please take note: - Every time we visit and Sue is here, the atmosphere goes up a notch! The place just feels different in a positive way ... Loves her job and makes everyone feel special, nothing is too much trouble, bless her (and no, it's not just because she gave us an extra couple of butter sachets!). Another excellent meal at the Court Leet last week. Served by Louie (Bar) and Sue (food), both super friendly and polite, with food exactly as ordered... 5/5 stars. My only criticism is that you usually have to ask for tables to be cleaned and once got refused by a young lass who was "too busy ... You'll have to find a clean table...!" (unquote). That aside, always great value at JDW throughout the UK. Highly recommended. UPDATED REVIEW (04.05.22) *** Special thanks and acknowledgement should go to Sue (Briggs?) who served us again today for the third time this year... Always got a smile on her face, super chatty and friendly and nothing is too much trouble, bless her! ***

I came here (10/09/24) Sue Briggs serviced us — her service was excellent, above and beyond! She always makes sure that we’re okay and the food was okay, lovely lady and service thank you again ❤️

Well, our little boy passed away just 3 months ago and needless to say, venturing out hasn't happened, Until now. We arranged to meet family at this pub, and it was less than 2 minutes before I questioned our decision to leave home. A 'portly' member of staff wearing a b & w striped top needs to reconsider her position in the customer service industry. If a customer tries to make you smile, it's good to recognise this, more so when the gentleman next to him 'gets it' but feels embarrassed at your obnoxious, cold, attitude. You met a nice person today who literally has no need to feel positive about anything in life at present. Try doing the same. Going through life with a chip on your shoulder isn't a great way forward. It is however, the way to failure. As I said, you need to consider if you're in the right career. Personally, I think not. Infact, I know not. #Wetherspoons you must be so proud of this staff member.

A very busy Spoons with an impressive large roof terrace. I went on a Saturday evening and it was packed inside and out. Great atmosphere with some good ales. Service wasn't the friendliest, though. Well worth a visit

Excellent service once again by Super Sue (whom doesn't normally appear on Fridays ...) ... Not a dirty table in sight! Lovely ambience and food exactly as per requested. All good. Mark.

I regularly go on a Friday with my elderly mum and my 2 year old granddaughter. The food is always good and service. But today I went a little bit earlier half hour ISH. And today it was amazing service food everything. Sue our server was brilliant warned us about hot plates for the toddler for us baby cutlery. The baby couldn't get get enough of her dinner and completely cleaned her plate and loved the smiley face under her beans that she saw when plate was empty. My mum was in shock with her piping hot pancakes and fruit. It was huge and a good mix and excellent quality fruit. I had random breakfast items and nothing was to much trouble. So thank you for today's brunch lunch it was brilliant. Will see you Friday as usual

Standard spoons food, terrible service.

We ordered through the app which was a challenge in itself, food wait time wasn't too long however the wait for the drinks was ridiculous (it was a Very hot day also), the food came first and the wait staff actually made our drinks herself as the barstaff were more interested in chatting. The pizza came uncut and with a lot of green on it which I had to remove.

Had breakfast prior to catching train to L'pool. Service was friendly & food arrived quick. Had 2 fill ups of coffee before 5 minute walk to station.

A nice place to stop for a bite to eat when shopping in Ormskirk, if you have time! The food is very reasonably priced and the pub itself has a nice atmosphere and is clean I have had to approach staff after 45 minutes of waiting for food on 3 out of 4 occasions I've visited, but I've seen plenty of other people being served promptly

The usual Spoons value for money. We went upstairs in the open section on a lovely sunny day. Ordered online from table. Drinks arrived promptly but food took a lot longer and when it arrived it wasn't as hot as it should have been. Clearly it had been waiting around plated in the kitchen.

A few times I've been disappointed by the service in this pub. Today I visited with my wife and 2 kids. Placed an order via the app. My food and my wife's (wraps) arrived within ten minutes. My kids arrived after 35 minutes! As a result we didn't eat together as a family, and instead had to watch the kids eat after us, having listened to them nagging throughout our meal! The food was all mildly warm at best, and nothing in the form of compensation was offered. Very poor! Probably one of the worst weatherspoons we've been in for service.

Staff don't clean up there's always tables full of empty glasses and plates left for hrs !!! Will not be going again!!

What can you say, it’s a Wetherspoon’s. It does exactly what it says on the door. Reasonable price food and drink, pretty much standard decor, if you have been in one you have been in this one. The service was, well standard it wasn’t very busy but they didn’t seem in a rush. The food was good, not bad size portion. Only good thing they have a good selection of alcohol free drinks. Would I go here again, yes as I said before it’s a Wetherspoon’s why wouldn’t you.

Been coming to the Court Leet for a few years now, maybe once a month or so. V good standard. Helpful staff. Food is served hot, and nothing missing. The spoons app is useful too. Never had a bad meal, or less-than very good meal here. Recommended

A good conversion into a pub, with a large roof terrace. Friendly staff, good selection of real ales.

Been a regular for breakfast here and it's always the starting point for a night out in Ormskirk, brilliant atmosphere, friendly staff and prices are reasonable

pub was busy with it being fathers day, so would understand a bit of a wait, took over an hour to to bring our food. staff seemed like they didnt care, had to send it back and asked for a full refund, fish was dry the batter on it was dark brown and rock hard. cold mushy peas and sorry looking chips. even the server said he would eat it. says it all .

Absolutely awful, the food sat waiting at the pass for ages so was cold when you received it and when returned received another then to find 2 blonde hairs in the food from the chefs fringe which is hanging down and not under her hat. I will definitely not be returning here, avoid at all costs.

Arrived for lunch with my parents only to find that any of empty tables for 3 / 4 hadn’t been cleaned. Floor was also covered in rubbish and there were also loose pieces of cutlery all over. Not the best for someone with mobility problems! Ordered 2 gammons (1 large and 1 small) and a fish & chips with mushy peas. The small gammon was cold and so fatty it was hard to cut it up. This was returned and they swapped for an edible piece. The peas with the fish and chips were so dry they were all stuck together in large clumps. They also had pieces of hard pea shell. Overall not the best lunch out with my parents and I certainly won’t be going back there! Sadly it’s their local…☹️

Really surprised, stayed day and night, great selection of food and drink, reasonably priced, lovely surroundings and atmosphere .

First time visit ...Called in for breakfast on the way to Southport...a lovely big spoonz, with friendly and helpful staff, food delivered quickly via the App would happily call again. Nice big outdoor seating area for sunny days. Busy when we got there and car park right next door and free on Sunday! Went for dinner today, busy but still served quickly via App!....fancied a burger but most out of stock!...settled for a chicken burger instead.

Here right now & this is superb. A fantastic Spoons. Food beers etc all great. Staff very nice & friendly. I had large breakfast & coffee & then a breakfast beer - Rev James. Perfect spoons!!!

Walked in, and the queue was so long at 9 am, 1 staff member on the bar and waited 20 mins before anybody was even seen to, ended up leaving...

Waited 40 mins for food when appraisal wait time was 9 minutes. Breakfast stone cold, over cooked, burnt, hair in it. Absolutely disgusting.

Love Wetherspoons. So cheap but definitely cheerful. Welcoming staff who serve so quickly and seem to have never end8ng patience. Breakfast is brilliant value with lots of choices. Highly recommend.

I ordered a meal and waited ages for it to come and once it did come half of the food was missing and I had to ask for it to come, it came in drips and drabs so by the time the whole meal finally arrived it was cold. I asked for a new meal and they give it me thank fully and a new drink because I had drank it all in the meantime waiting for my food. Not the best experience here and it was bloody freezing.

The pub is run like a well oiled machine, especially on a busy night after the races. All the staff were very pleasant too!

Definitely one of the nicer 'Spoons. Clean. Not rowdy. Good service. You still have to climb the equivalent Mount Kilimanjaro if you need a pee though...

Sunday evening . Meal & drinks. Food came quite quickly. Which was a surprise as still busy. Still find Wetherspoons good value and a place you can still hold a conversation.

I've been going here with a couple of mates for many many years now. It's always been a great place and the Guinness is always right. I have to say that in the last couple of years Lisa has grabbed my attention and left me in awe. She is on the go 100% of the time all night every visit.... just relentless. Despite being so busy and committed she always has the time to say hello. She is so pleasant and helpful and absolutely deserves this mention along with my full grattitude for always making our evening better. I also owe her a massive thankyou for her attention and assistance when a friend had an unpleasant evening due to not being well. Lisa gave us exceptional over and above help that night that we will all remember. Thank you Lisa.

No clean tables. One BFast was returned stale Bun. 2nd came with a solid hard egg. My toasted bacon butty. Bacon was very pale and sad looking. Didn’t enjoy No HP to put on BFast. The disable toilet that’s open to the public No toilet paper at all. No Hand wash in machine. Very unhygienic. Open to all to use even young men. This pub has gone down hill. Worse one around.

Worse ever for food. Bacon on toast very sad looking. BFast muffin was stale and returned second one the egg was Hard. Tables full of used Condiments. Customers clearing a table to sit down as we did as well. Worst ever. No Sauces out HP. For BFast. Never again. Whole kitchen and Condiments need a shake up.

Loud, but I felt safe there on a Friday night.

Bought pizza, nachos and katsu curry, the nachos didn't have any guacamole and the curry was bland, the pizza was very very greasy. We bought drinks too, mango monster mash was nice, the purple rain was watered down, but for £40 we were hoping for better. There were tables with no seats and there was an upstairs area which we were told to leave with no clear sign of it being closed. Left quickly because we didn't enjoy the food and we didn't enjoy the drinks.

Food was atrocious. The staff was okay. The drinks were very watered down and tasted like nothing. The atmosphere was very noisy and all the seats and tables were very claustrophobic. Barely any space really. Wouldn't recommend this place for food a drink personally.

Ate breakfast here this morning. It was quiet. Food hot and delivered quickly. Very pleasant staff. No parking fees due to being a Sunday.

Don't get the beef madras, the beef resembles dog food. Other than this it's a great place to eat and drink if your on the go.

Very busy long wait for service as only 2 staff with 1 learner on bar didn't eat because of the wait. Good facilities with disabled toilets very clean ample parking just outside.

Ordered the fish and chips never again the fish was like rubber and the batter was rock hard. My wife had the Gammon and chips with eggs, the eggs whites were runny.20 pound an absolute ripoff.

We have used Court Leet Ormskirk on MANY occasions and always been satisfied. Today we took some family members and it was dreadful. We ordered 5 meals 3 of which were stone cold, the other 2 were tepid. We complained and were asked if we wanted them heating up. We had to take the plates up OURSELVES. We could see the serving hatch and when the meals were hot they were left on the top and WE had to collect them ourselves. Nobody checked if the food was satisfactory or apologised to us. Normally a server asks during the meal if everything is satisfactory, this did NOT happen today. I am 78 years of age and used the disabled toilet where there was no tissue. I spoke to a server to tell her and she assured me she would remedy this. I could see from where I sat that this never happened. I could not believe how appalling our experience was and nobody cared. Ref for our meal was 5809 and the unique no was 423176. The meal was ordered at 16.11 on Sunday 7th January 2024

Great breakfast. You always know what you’re getting at ‘spoons and great value for money but the breakfast was really good and hot. Some are just average but not this one. We had a freedom breakfast and a miner’s Benedict, 2 refillable coffees £13

Called in for breakfast mid morning. service was good but when arrived found it was cold ? Quite surprised on this considering it had only just been cooked..? Thinking it may have been from a packet and microwaved for 2 minutes.

Went for a meal and drink tables were sticky menus the same, nice lady took food and drinks orders nice and pleasant lady waited for food not to long a lady came over with are food asks who having what I’m on mixed grill so puts plate on top of sticky menus opposite to we’re I’m sitting didn’t seam to happy to be at work, not a bad place nice outdoor seating area for the warmer weather food was ok too

One lady got a round order wrong when queried was quite rude telling me to check my order and walked off. She didn't say she would check it. On checking my order it was different to what she brought. Was still rude to my friend and then we showed her the order and she gave us the correct drinks. Her manner was unprofessional.

Basic meal on a cold Saturday afternoon. Food came quick and was quite nice for the money.. No milk for bottomless tea so had to wait until after I'd finished my.meal to have the accompanying drink while my friend had completely finished and was ready to leave. Overcrowded 'school dinner hall' type experience. Ok for a quick lunch however there's not many places to go and have a hearty type meal in Ormskirk. Bramley's is too expensive and everywhere else is either a cafe serving basics with expensive coffees or alcohol. Mad really as Ormskirk is full of cafes/food based units or charity shops......(sigh). It's really gone downhill! Bring back the 90s!

3 Fish & Chips all came with over cooked batter which was dark brown curly up and had break in to free the meagre fillet of fish . On the upside the burger was fine.
