WATCH OUT _ CAR PARKING FINES APPLY. I went shopping with a friend. We had a great experience with shopping, lunch and coffee breaks (we're quite elderly so need regular breaks) and we spent quite a bit of money. Sadly, the experience was ruined because we got a parking fine. We stayed 30 mins over the allowed 3 hours and got a fine for 60.00. It has put us off going again. I understand that Booths do not want people spending all day there without spending any money but if they want to make this a destination venue, they should perhaps allow longer for those who can produce receipts. How about, 3 hours free or unlimted parking if you spend over 25.00? Would something like that work?

Sat in Booths cafe in Burscough and can't believe how dirty it is. Considering its only half full of customers, every other table has dirty trays and dishes on them. There are used serviettes scattered all over the floor. I had to move several dirty dishes from a table just to sit down with a member of staff just watching me do it, and then walking away without attempting to clear anything away. I thought Booths was supposed to be up market!! Disgraceful. Oh and ordered our drinks 20 mins ago and still waiting for them!

Having visited my mother in the care home opposite my brother and I decided to have a bite to eat in Booths cafe. Chose the soup and asked for a sandwich each to be direct to the chiller cabinet for the sandwiches. Cheese and pickle was my choice... 1 slice of bread and I couldn't find the pickle... very poor quality with dry crust. Expected to be served with a plated sandwich. Saw no evidence of hot food (beside the soup.. which was good). Won't be eating here again. For a supermarket cafe in a Booths store it was very disappointing.

Used the cafe I have to say this is well organized and feel safe, you need to enter with Mask and supply contact. Then you will be allocated seating, if in couples one of you can go up to counter to order your food not a problem. Only thing was and not a fault of staff the older generation don’t accept seating and start swapping I noticed this whilst sitting having my lunch. One woman was going to sit at a table that another couple have left that was not sanitized! I told she could not sit there, needless to say she did not accept this. Staff are up against it. But it’s clean and spotless so enjoy your lunch or afternoon tea.

I was disappointed that I visited the store and whilst there wanted to try afternoon tea. You can’t have afternoon tea for 1 person, have to be with someone else. Seems strange that it can’t be served for 1 when each person would get the same slices of cake and sandwiches regardless. Was told could order the afternoon tea for 2 if wanted but would be charged for 2 people. I wasn’t that hungry or made of money! Maybe it is the store’s way to make more money but not consider fairness to customers.

It was served quickly and was excellent, pleanty to eat and so much so that we took a lot of it away with us in boxes kindly provided by the staff! I would have given a five star score if they would have more full meals on the menu as do many of Booths other cafes. Please see what you can do Booths!

So if you do that then get in queue for drink food would be cold. No napkins just a roll of blue tissue to tear pieces off. The place where sauces in satchels were was full of dust too. My husband and I paid a visit to Booths on 27/9/18 to have a bite to eat but unfortunately I could only order a coffee due to the fact that Booths do not provide for vegans except for soya milk which happens to sometimes curdle in coffee as it did in mine. I am not asking for a gourmet meal but I would really appreciate just a little something to nibble on from time to time. I really do think that being in 2018 you could be a bit more vegan friendly. Hence I left feeling hungry and thirsty due to my soya milk curdling in my coffee.

I have avoided writing this review because I don’t like criticising places I visit but after half a dozen is its to this cafe Icannot find a great deal to praise. It is wheelchair friendly and has easy access but after that we’ll it leaves a lot to be desired. The designer has filled it with furniture that would not be acceptable In any smart, modern cafe. Perhaps it would be termed “rustic”, I would suggest scruffy and cheap. The counter where you order has a strange system whereby the girl who takes the order passes the drinks order across to another girl who sometimes produces the drinks a while before or after the food arrives. There’s little room to rest the drinks, design again, and often there’s a shortage of cutlery. Tables are not cleared regularly so I presume staff are not deployed properly or there is a staff shortage, tables often need wiping too. Food is ok but nothing special but staff are usually pleasant. I can’t say as a group of friends we would want to visit Booths on a regular basis and I’m sorry to give such a negative report.

I am a regular customer at Booths since it opened it's doors at Burscough, however I'm noticing many elderly people are using the cafe as a one stop shop service by obtaining a coffee at tills and sitting in for hours with one take out coffee whilst other customers buying food at the counter have no where to sit at, especially those with children. I'm all for chatting and catching up with friends over a coffee but some people are using and abusing the cafe seating at busy times. This deters customers and people purchasing food at the counter as no space is available due to the amount over 60's reading papers and getting free coffee. I feel Booths is good value with card holders and free coffee or tea with a purchase of counter food but some have cottoned on that, they can buy an item less than a pound and sit on cafe for an hour plus with a take out coffee! My wife and I noticed this on many occasions, we are not ageist as 50+ ourselves and enjoy Booths Cafe but feel your policy is being abused. Takeout coffee is what it's says, not transferring it to seating area in the cafe, you are definitely loosing sales in this area and we have seen people sitting with glass of free water whilst on wifi service. I feel their is a generation of meanies with a wad in the bank no less, they all can't be skint shopping at Booths!

Today there was a big queue, uncleared tables and no kids sandwiches for the little lunch boxes. You’d think being next to a supermarket it wouldn’t be much of an issue to sandwich a slice of ham between a bit of butter on a roll?! Turns out it’s completely unavailable. This cafe could be much better. It is let down by very slow and disorganised service at the till, sadly this is the norm, not a one off. I get the impression that the Booths staff are not trained very well, it is total chaos at busy times on not much better at not so busy times. The food is ok, as is the selection, but doesn’t have the range of cooked food that some of their other branches have. The whole experience though is spoiled by the time it takes to get served, and then find a table that is cleared of used crockery. Booths, you are supposed to be a ‘quality’ retailer, need to improve.

I adore Booths stores and its brand's ethos. I cannot avoid a splurge to shop in store whenever I am near one despite ordering 95% of my food shopping online elsewhere. I wished I lived in walking distance of one and am admittedly envious of my dear friend who has the choice of two Booths she treats as local corner shops. Hesketh Bank and Burscough - with Preston further driving distance - the countryside is practically littered with them. So I am very confident shoppers and fellow store card holders ( not dissimilar to finders of Willy Wonka golden tickets) would agree the service, choice and quality are superb.

What a beautiful store. A good time of year to visit with all the Christmas products available. Everything you could possibly need is well laid out and there are several things "just that little bit different". Very nice coffee shop on site. Unfortunately could only buy few smaller items as only visiting during a weekend break so getting things back on plane was restrictive. Booths produce a beautiful hard back book with products, prices, recipes, meal ideas etc. Just a shame they don't deliver outside U K mainland - hamper very tempting! I've been a fairly regular visitor to this coffee shop since it opened about a year ago. It is pleasant enough, well designed, apart from the most uncomfortable leather seats I think I have ever sat in. Booths like to be thought of as a 'quality' grocery store. Unfortunately the quality doesn't spill into the coffee shop. The type of coffee used is not good at all, I've had to take quite a few cups back due to what I can only describe as a strange taste, whatever they clean out the machine with is not getting washed out properly. I get the feeling that the staff are badly trained on how to make a good cup of coffee. The service is often slow, mainly due to understaffing. I think Booths need to decide if they are running this place as a bit of a loss leader, (free coffee for cardholders) or as a serious coffee shop, I guess it's the former. For seriously good food and coffee there's a much better option just up the road called Merlins.

I have been to a few Booths cafes and some have been reasonable such as the one at Hesketh Bank. However, having been to the Burscough one a few times now I wont bother again. Service is often poor with some of the staff gossiping and ignoring customers. Food on offer is less than inspiring. But what really annoys is the dire stuff they claim to be coffee. Scorched over frothed milk and weak tasteless coffee. An espresso was without crema and bitter as sin. An americano was served by filling the mug through the portafilter making an evil tasting brew. Come on Booths get the coffee staff trained properly....it could be so much better.

BE CAREFUL OF PARKING TIME. Only 30 mins parking allowed and signage isnt obviously visible when you enter. fill up, buy some snack and get a coffee and you could well be over the 30mins limit allowed. Not long enough for a coffee to be drunk at a reasonable pace if 'eating in' Won't be using this again as there is no way to 'refund' for genuine visitors if you receive a ticket.
