Waited far to long for average food,staff pleasant and friendly and nice atmosphere, but spoilt by long wait.buzzer system no reliable

Love this place..relaxing atmosphere lovely staff Breakfasts are perfect I go at least once a week I’ve not tried the lunch menu yet but I definitely will be soon

Afternoon Tea sandwiches were filled very well,scones were to die for,good cake selection. Staff were attentive, friendly and professional Highly recommended.

Lovely spacious clean place for lunch and to sit in the spring sunshine. Delicious sandwiches and scones with friendly and efficient service.

Came here with my mum for a nosey about as she loves a good garden centre😂 I thought it was really nice if you like farden centres!! Lots to buy and a lovely location. The menu looked great and I’d like to return to try more of the food. I had one of the specials, the nacho chicken baguette. I was surprised at the size! I had to have it as an open sandwich as there was absolutely no way i was able to eat it all together. It was absolutely stacked!!! It was very messy to eat but nice!! All the staff was lovely and the food came out relatively quick.

The Staffs are so nice and polite!! They will do anything to make you relax. The food was really nice ,a mustvto try!

Have to agree with others about slow service. Typical Tuesday pre-lunch and we waited half an hour for two drinks from the fridge and two slices of cake - not exactly difficult things! Doubt I would come back, consequently.

Our first visit for some time. A lovely garden centre, with lots to see, a very nicely designed restaurant/cafe and a good selection of fancy goods and plants. But whilst some prices are very reasonable, others are very expensive. We had lunch in the cafe, this would normally consist of a cold sandwich, but at £10 a go including crisps and a small side salad, this is way over the top for a garden centre that we would expect to spend £7 to £8 for. So we decided to have a small portion of fish and chips, which came with mushy peas, pea shoots, tartare sauce and wedge of lemon. At I think £12.00 (may have been £13.00) the two portions we had were delicious and as good as I have had for a long time. Two member of staff pointed out they were missing a couple of chefs, so there may be a delay in receiving our food, but no delay, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the coffee was piping hot and very nice. We also go to Birkacre Garden Centre Chorley, it is very popular, the cafe is very reasonably priced and they have recently opened a food hall including butchers and delicatessen. The food hall is no where near as big Bent's or Barton Grange, but it is adequate and something that I think would be good at Warbreck.

Nice environment and food is fairly good, if a bit pricey, but very slow service. Visited several times previously and the wait for food from point of order has been around 20mins. Today, waited about 30mins for two toasties and a burger. Fast food chain, it is not!

Warbreck shuts at 5.30 and the sign on the cafe says shuts at 5. We went in at 4.30 for coffee to be told (with glee) ‘we’re closed’. I can understand not wanting to take food orders but surely a coffee is possible? If you stop taking orders at 4.20 state this at the door, rather than saying you shut at 5. Also there’s nothing worse than a person serving who couldn’t be more thrilled to tell you they’re closed. It was clearly the highlight of her day to disappoint us.

Visited the restaurant for the third time ( + garden centre) and the service was terrible- the food is lovely and most of the staff very nice, we asked what was happening to our food as we had been waiting quite a while, when it did arrive it wasn’t service with a smile, I wood think twice of eating here again

It took over an hour for food to be served, at which point it arrived cold and undercooked. They explained they were short-staffed, but no effort was made to manage this problem. Staff should have explained service would be slow when we arrived, and probably should have limited the menu or managed the number of customers if they were short staffed. An apology would have been nice, at least. I've been a few times and it's been OK, but wouldn't bother returning again.

A very comfortable restaurant. Parking extremely easy and ramps all over the place for wheelchairs etc. Well designed. The staff were exceptional. Very caring pleasant and efficient. The food we had was a good quality but thought very slightly overpriced. Not excessive. A bit disappointed with the garden centre but probably because it has been taken over by Christmas. Certainly worth a visit and a bite if nearby

I never understand the negative reviews as I always have a great experience with attentive service and delicious food in a lovely environment that's always full and has a great atmosphere! I think the potential wait for a table and number of people who eat there speaks for itself.

Posting on behalf of my 84 year old mother who visited with my sister and niece, they said it was the worst meal they've ever had, I'm extremely surprised they didn't complain directly to the staff, however, a letter of discontent has been posted, which will no doubt be ignored

Restaurant very busy nice decor staff friendly seated immediately lady took drinks order which came quickly waitress then took food order we ordered soup and a tuna mayo sandwich and fish n chips 40 minutes later food arrived fish was over cooked batter very dark brown almost burnt peas were stone cold but didn’t want to send back as waited so long for my meal. Soup was tasteless and not hot Tuna Mayo sandwich came Tuna and chutney very strange ? Didn’t ask for chutney had to order more drinks because by the time the food arrived had drank drinks £3.85 for a pot of tea scandalous price and vanilla Latte £3.95 plus 50p for syrup very small cup we have been to lots of garden centre restaurants and this is the most overpriced yet won’t be returning.

Lovely relaxing atmosphere with nice decor. Highly recommend deluxe Oat milk hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows.

Lovely staff, efficient service. It’s a gem. Good menu and reasonably priced. Fish and chips always delicious, food is piping hot and beautifully presented, many thanks to the kitchen staff. Table staff are very friendly, efficient and you never see any with a miserable face, thank you. You can’t add tips on to card payments, so make sure you have some cash on you.

Excellent menu made with fresh produce. Staff were friendly, helpful and hard working. Food was great and the cakes were YUM! 😂

Setting and service was good but food was disappointing. My wife had a sandwich and the bread looked and tasted like cheap sliced bread. I had a steak and ale 'pie' which turned out to be just a crust topping on a dish. Not what I would call a pie! The meat was either poor quality or badly cooked as it was tough

Fish was soggy and chips were still hard! Horrible food Was offered a piece of cake for free to compensate the terrible meal

Arrived in time for breakfast ( according to the menu outside the door) to be informed it lunch only. Not an issue for us. Served quickly, then we waited and waited. 45 mins later we asked as everyone comin in later was served. Finally arrived, my bbq pulled pork panini was obviously sat on heater plate all that time, as it was so dry and could only bite the middle. My husband ended up eating most of it, i was too scared of my teeth breaking! First time ever i ve told staff the food was inedible. Still had to pay for it. Shame as we a large family newly moved in the area. Wont be back

We came here with our Grandma for a Sunday roast and it was amazing! It was really busy but the service was quite quick, very scenic view too. Can’t recommend the roast more it was delicious!! One of the best Sunday roasts I’ve had!

Oh what a shame! £13 for a really micro thin quiche of the day, side salad and frozen chips, baked potato microwaved, fish n chips sallow no crisping or colour due to it being ping/microwaved food small portion cost £13. Cup of tea 15p short of £4!! I went two years ago and the standard has dropped considerably ... cutbacks I was told. However staff are absolutely lovely and very obliging. Never again would I eat there ... sorry hate to post negativie but its not value for money

How can you charge £3.85 for a pot of tea ! We ordered two coffees, toast for two ( from a sliced bread pack ) and 2 teas , £24 .20 !! Never again !!

Absolutely wonderful! It goes to show that you need to experience a place for yourself because I have no idea how Warbreck restaurant has such negative reviews. I've been in June and July and the food and service are fantastic! There's table service now which is lovely and the meals are delicious with very generous portions. The desserts are a refreshingly good price and absolutely delicious! The service was very attentive and it's a lovely setting to sit in. Great shop and garden centre too!

Visited here in both April and June. Both times the three of us were seated straight away. The tables are far enough apart so even when it's busier it feels like you have plenty of space. The food has all been good, especially like the thick chips, although we were waiting a while for it to arrive both times. We were initially brought some wrong drinks this times - a can we didn't order and the wrong size of bottled water. This was quickly sorted out, but after checking the receipt later on, we realised that we had been charged for the correct bottle of water, but were also charged for the can. Will go back, although will just make sure to check the receipt when we pay.

Sat at the table ordered food and drinks, drinks came promptly food however is a different matter. Limited menu due to Father’s Day weekend which happens that the restaurant was not busy at all. 2 lamb roasts and a pie dish was ordered, 35 minutes later two roasts came to the table ( now you would have thought the waitress would have realised there were 3 people sat down and only 2 meals where ready, but No!! ) 10 minutes later I had to ask another waitress that we were a main course short , a further 10 minutes passed and the main course was delivered. The manager in charge came over and said the kitchen hadn’t read the number of pies on order. If you’re after a meal and have all day to wait here is the place, staff everywhere yet service is very slow. If the kitchen can’t cope you either need better kitchen staff or simple food that they can serve well !! Will never return to this place

AVOID THIS PLACE very disappointed soup luke warm after waiting a long time sent it back for a reheat Ordered lamb curry this was a strange brown tasteless liquid with no taste no spice I love curry this was definitely not curry a tasteless rip off. Worst of all we waited more than half an hour for food didnt seem like any urgency in the kitchen [we could see inside] The place was busy but only about half full or less

Coffee was weak and cake which was supposed to be blueberry and lemon was sweet and rather sickly. The staff were not terribly pleasant and in fact were quite supercilious.

Had a lovely time at Warbreck! I came with a friend and recieved excellent service from Ellie who looked after us. A lot of staff stood around talking towards the end of the day though.

Both had fish and chips. Very tasty. Staff lovely, efficient and friendly. Had coffees before our meal. Daft thing to say, but brilliant to get a coffee that’s hot!! So many places serve coffee that’s not!!! Didn’t have to wait long for our meal and a lovely setting.

I Visited warbreck today spent £86 but unfortunately had to return acouple of items as faulty! The lady on the till was pleasant enough and refunded my items without any problem, but I wanted to purchase a packet of crisp while I was there and wanted to pay cash as it wasn't a large amount, and I had cash on me but was told you don't take cash, I can understand it while it was lock down, but was very disappointed to hear that your store can continue this way.I certainly won't be visiting warbreck again as the customer should have the option to pay whichever way they want.Maybe you should display that on the way in, before customers enter your store!! Went for lunch with friends. Ordered the ham and Brie panini which I’ve had there before. And been fine. This time there was a remarkable difference in it with very little ham and Brie in the filling. Very poor and a very dry sandwich. Yet to have a nice lunch here. Shame as the place is beautiful.

This place is usually nice. Good quality, quick service ect but this time, there were about 10 pickled flies in my vinegar. We only noticed after consuming the vinegar but made it clear to the waitress who sincerely apologised and proceeded to remove all 3 meals off of our bill.

We ordered soup and sandwich, quality of Ham was terrible, cheap wafer thin packet ham, very overpriced for the quality, child’s ham sandwich too was awful, we expected real ham not processed.

Rang to book in for an afternoon tea with family. Two members don’t eat fish so as you have to pre order we simply requested to swap for any other of their options and was told this isn’t possible?! So you cant swap a salmon sandwich to a cheese sandwich? Absolutely crazy we will go elsewhere. Not good customer service.

Quite disappointing as - 1/ my husbands large breakfast came without any bacon on it so had to request it 2/ they only accept card payments 3/ we asked for 2 teas for our mums and it came in one pot for two but was charged for 2 pots at £2.99 each. They got one and a half cups each and it was really weak. 4/ our cappuccino was not hot so our second one we requested to be hot as we had to wait over half an hour for our food. 5/ definitely overpriced and not really worth the money.

Scrambled egg came with chunks of black in it. I thought it was mushroom, my wife said it looked like sultanas in it, and sent it back. The replacement was slightly better but still black in it. Even if it was safe to eat, it looked suspect, and was obviously made in a burnt or dirty pan. Scrambled egg should be yellow and fluffy, they should have been ashamed to serve this!

Been past Warbreck over many years , but never called in. Let’s just say we have been missing out. We arrived without booking. Staff were happy to let us know when a table was available via a bleeper that we were offered on arrival. We then could shop whilst waiting. The table was ready within 15 minutes . We were advised of the wait time for food and we were happy to wait. Good food and service. Well worth a visit.

Bit pricey but it is in a garden centre. Very popular with older ladies who lunch

Went for lunch with a group of ladies we ordered turkey when it came had to send it back as other people did too, it was cold,the pudding came and that was cold as we're others and too much cranberry sauce, had to send it back spoiled our afternoon out, it really is unacceptable to have cold food put in front of you, although we got a refund on one turkey dinner doesn't compensate for terrible food. They need to get their act together as it has gone from bad to worse

Excellent food, service and atmosphere apart from one small issue. I ordered the Lancashire Hot Pot ( marked as Dairy Free on the Menu) but why serve it with two satchets of Butter if Dairy Free??

Lovely garden centre, this is our first visit and we will call here again. The restaurant is very nice, definitely not a cafe. I had the wedges with chicken in a mushroom sauce, it was excellent, hubby had salmon risotto also excellent and our daughter had mushroom stroganoff also excellent. Good service and good food worth the money.

Sunday 3rd December I went on my own to have a bit ov lunch only to be greeted by I assume was the restaurant manager who told me the standard ov food that day had been appalling an there had been alot ov complaints I was disgusted at his attitude an the way he spoke to me an other people who was wanting a table.

Lancashire Hot Pot-it’s not Having been to this restaurant many times and always enjoyed the meals, we have to say we were very disappointed in our latest visit. We ordered the Lancashire Hotpot at £15 per head. After waiting nearly 35 minutes for our meal, we were presented with a bowl containing the hot pot with red cabbage on top, a spoon and 2 chunks of bread and 3?pats if butter. The hot pot left a bit to be desired, more like a very thin vegetable soup, not much substance very little lamb. Very disappointed with the meal, when we gave feedback to the waitress she informed us that she would convey our concern to the kitchen staff, she returned to say that this was a new dish on the menu and they would take our comments on board. Needless to say we won’t be ordering this meal again, at least the bread was nice!!

Busy, popular restaurant. Menu is varied, food is good quality and well cooked. They offer afternoon teas too (may need to book)

Absolutely horrid breakfast sausages like dog food cold and inedible deep fried black pudding ….disgusting sorry but had to put this out there was my wife’s birthday breakfast ruined plus £30 out of pocket ..our last visit ever thanks

We go here regularly for breakfast and today to buy some Christmas gifts from the shop. We usually have the same thing to eat, 2 slices of white toast (£3.00) with an extra portion of scrambled egg (£1.50). The waitress today (I think she was in charge) said so it's scrambled egg on toast you want £6.00. We explained again what we wanted, and again she said well that's scrambled egg on toast, if you have it as an extra portion you'll only get one egg. After arguing for a while she accepted reluctantly that one egg was all we wanted! Then she said is it only one slice of toast you want? Eventually we got what we originally ordered but said it's not worth the hassle of going there. We ordered from the menu, she obviously doesn't have a clue what's on the menu and made us feel like we were being really awkward. We also ordered a one shot coffee and a one shot latte. She said everything is one shot. We could see the coffee on the tray but the latte took over 5 minutes to be made by which time the coffee was cold! They changed it but it was so strong my wife couldn't drink it. We mentioned it to the person collecting the cups and he said Americana is always 2 shots unless you ask for one which we did! Can't believe breakfast at the Warbreck comes with an extra portion of stress!

Lovely garden centre. Nice restaurant. Good selection of food and drinks.

I visited today with my sister, we are both senior citizens and we wish to express our disgust about card payments only being accepted for purchases. Cash sterling has been a choice of payment which is backed up by royal approval FOR HUNDREDS OF YEARS, We will make sure that we and all of our family and friends will not visit in future

I live 30 mins away, so do not visit often, this was my third visit and I do like the layout of the cafe on a sort of double floor arrangement. The food is not cheap, but the ambience of the place and the quality of the food together with great friendly service is hard to beat.

Visited Warbreck yesterday, quite by chance as the place we intended to visit was closed. We were shown quickly to our table and the waitress told us there would be a slight delay with the food. That wasn't a problem. Our order was taken and we were quite surprised by how quickly it arrived. We found the food delicious and would recommend it to others. We were a little surprised that we had to pay by card, the waitress said we should have been told when we came in and that the garden centre too was card only.

Lovely cafe in the garden centre. Quite expensive, but a very comfortable setting and food has always been splendid.

Always love visiting Warbreck, today we had cream teas, beautiful scones, cream and strawberry jam.

While passing on Tuesday 26 July decided to call for lunch on my own we have used this restaurant on many occasions, I was seated straight away gave my order mild chicken curry with half and half and a coffee, coffee came within a few minutes, but waited more than half an hour for my meal, the curry sauce and chicken was steaming so hot that first bite it burned my mouth and I had to spit it out, in hindsight I should have sent it back but being hungry I broke open the pieces of chicken to try and cool it I ate some of the meal but left the rest , I surmised that my meal had been cooked but had been over looked then put in a microwave to heat it very dis appointed, James Todd

Been a few times and order cheese on toast for 8 year old. When it came today it was 2 rounds of toast and a bowl of cheese. When we asked why the cheese wasn’t melted on toast she said it depends what mood the chef is in! Food wasn’t brilliant , streaky bacon which unless you like fat you won’t eat, very hard boiled eggs, disappointing!
