Old fashioned, traditional pub with good menu, traditional Thwaites beer and good selection of wines and spirits. Nice pub grub with friendly and attentive staff. We all enjoyed our food which was delicious and piping hot.

We were told we could have a refund for the who made order due to it being an hour late. Also it was not cooked properly and half the stuff was missing. U haven’t processed the refund and it was a week ago

The burger patties are literally the cheapest you can buy. You know, the type you get from a snide burger van; very poor quality. They also forgot the 1st round of drinks and had to be prompted (no big deal) The desserts took a while too because the bubble waffle machine broke, so we had to b wait for the Belgian waffles. Again, no big deal. But when you put all 3 issues together, it doesn’t make you want to go back. I suspect their carvery is excellent and that’s what they’re known for. But we weren’t in the mood for a carvery.

Bit late reviewing but I went for my 40th in February. As my Dad was unwell we couldn't travel very far Only a couple of other tables in and a limited menu but absolutely no complaints at all. Had a lovely meal, didn't need any more choice. All the staff were lovely. Really enjoyed it and glad we went

The food is absolutely spot on and delivered on time

Called into this cosy, friendly pub with my family on a cold, wet day and it was just what we were looking for. Great choice of dishes, including imaginative vegetarian, with quality, freshly cooked food at good prices - and the chips are fantastic!

Wonderful experience . Food was excellent value, the service was superb. We felt welcomed and will.come.again. Thisnis our 5th visit.

attended restaurant during massive downstairs refurbishment, off putting going in to a building site. waited over an hour for meal, which was edible, however I've made better pasta dishes at home . close the restaurant until refurbishment completed will not return even following refurb.

I wish we had read the reviews before we went as we would have avoided it. Ordered cafetière of coffee for two , asked which blend we wanted, only to return advising they only had one, it was horrible and weak, we asked to change it, which they did, second one just as bad, pressed the plunger and all coffee spilled out as it had been overfilled, observed by the waitress who said I need to press gently!! Coffee all over table, as she stood watching, I had to ask for a cloth, she returned and handed me a pot towel to clean the table myself!! Third attempt asked for a water and cup of tea. I had caesar salad and requested no Parmesan, to be asked by the waitress what is Parmesan! Lettuce was brown under all the dressing, yuk !! My husband had creamy chorizo and chilli pasta , it was gooey inedible, came with garlic ciabatta which they forgot to bring, got the bill and they had overcharged us. £5 as coffee on bill, we won’t return. Used to be a lovely place to go with good quality food

The buffet here is good value but the quality of meat particularly wasn’t great. There’s quite a good selection, I particularly enjoyed the noodles. Service was good and decor quite traditional Chinese restaurant style. I think if you want to have a reasonably priced Chinese feast fine but not if you are picky about meat quality. I wouldn’t return myself.

This used to be a lovely place but has really gone downhill. The building needs tlc to say the lest and on our last two visits the service has been poor. Won’t be going again.

wish i could leave no stars. i’m a young girl and i came in for a pick up order, the man behind the counter ignored me for about 5 minutes even with me saying excuse me. i proceeded to say i have a pick up order to which he responded by shouting in my face for 10 minutes saying they didn’t receive an order which i paid £10 for, after he was screaming shouting in my face i not only left empty handed but also crying. AVOID.
