What a great place! This Pizza Express will take some beating. It’s in a beautiful old building on King Street and the decor is lovely. We were served immediately, Ian and Peter were fantastic hosts. The food was top standard, so much so, we have booked again! Well done guys and thank you, we will definitely recommend.

Nothing special. Great reception area in a very special architecturally significant building. The rooms are average. The bar is spectacular to look at but service is poor. The restaurant/dining is average and theres a lot better places to go right outside the front door. Staff seemed disinterested.

My daughters brought me to treat me for my birthday and what a treat it was. Juande greated and served us, sang happy birthday and made us feel welcome. Our chef Ben was fantastic and made us all laugh so much. I will definitely be coming back, I've loved my meal here tonight.

Extremely disappointed with the experience at this café due to the rude and unprofessional behaviour of a staff member. My friends and I had only been seated for about 10 minutes while deciding what to order when a man who appeared to work there abruptly told us to ‘GET OUT’ if we weren’t going to buy anything immediately. When a short TikTok sound played quietly from my phone, he referred to it as “annoying” in a very condescending tone.
When we politely explained that we were planning to order and that his attitude was inappropriate, he dismissively said, “You are not customers.” His tone and words were extremely disrespectful and degrading and he came across very racist.
To make matters worse, the gentleman appeared very unhygienic and had a noticeable body odour, which was off-putting in a food environment. The entire encounter left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. It completely ruined our evening, and we left without ordering anything due to how we were treated.
I would not recommend this café based on this experience and sincerely hope management addresses the behaviour and hygiene standards of their staff.

We had actually scanned the menu upon arrival and came in based on a recommendation from DNA VR, who suggested we could come by for a coffee. We also chose to sit upstairs where it was completely empty, so the claim that we were disturbing others is simply false — there was no one around us to disturb.
Our review is not a personal attack — it is a genuine reflection of our experience. However, the hostility we were met with did feel extremely personal and completely unprovoked. You could have chosen to speak to us with basic decency, but instead approached us in a hostile and aggressive manner.
Looking through your responses to other negative reviews, it’s clear you have zero accountability and prefer to belittle customers rather than accept any feedback. This kind of unprofessional behaviour only reflects your lack of customer service and basic etiquette.
Considering your physical presence and size, it’s even more uncomfortable that you’d choose to act in such an intimidating and unnecessarily aggressive way towards two customers just sitting upstairs. It’s sad and honestly pathetic. If anything, you should reflect on your own conduct and why you feel the need to assert yourself like that.
Kindness costs nothing — and in your case, it seems to be in very short supply.
