Place was fully loaded, but they offered place at a bar and served super nice lunch. Portions are not for one, be ready. However they offered place take away if you want so. Very kind and attentive service.

It was almost full when it opened. It's best to make a reservation first. The snacks served at Yum Cha are authentic, and the attitude of the staff is also very cordial. The dim sum portions are a little bigger than in Asia. The smooth egg and green onion rice rolls are delicious. The tea is a bit bland.

We’ve been here a few times now and it’s now become our favourite place for authentic traditional Chinese dim sum. The standard and quality of food is consistently excellent and delicious. Also the setting is lovely too and all the staff are super friendly. Highly recommend them!

The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, and they answer food-related questions with great patience. Nice atmosphere, and the teapot on the table can be refilled with hot water for free—perfect for enjoying tea on a cold day at Etten.

I was wandering around Manchester, having not eaten the entire day. The time was creeping towards 18:00 (important detail) and I searched “best dim sum in Manchester”. I entered this establishment and said “prove to me you’re the best dim sum restaurant in Manchester” The kind host said “we don’t do dim sum past 17:00 but we welcome the challenge!” Admittedly, I had to order quickly but a hungry man knows what he wants. I ordered the salt and pepper chicken, steamed glutennous rice, steamed spare ribs and 4 different types of dim sum. I was blown away by all of them! The waiters are constantly paying attention to your table (I like that), and occasionally pass comments like “that food is ALL for you?” I really enjoyed dining here and I hope to return here soon! I highly recommend Home Chinese Manchester!

Terrible experience. Despite being a lover of Chinese cuisine, always experienced in Italy, convinced by the high reviews, I tried the restaurant. What can I say... there were 3 of us. Each of us did not appreciate the "style" of the cuisine proposed, both the starters and Especially the noodles with a mushy base that characterized any dish presented. Dishes returned untouched. Let's not talk about the very high bill, but we are in England and that is justified. Good service, nice environment. We left hungry and with the certainty that we will never see each other again. I wonder how it is possible that dishes like these, I won't go into detail and I avoid adjectives, are considered close to 5 stars. Chinese cuisine is something else, that's for sure.

Ristorante cinese elegante a due passi dal Gay village e vicino a Chinatown. Personale molto cortese e professionale. Prezzi leggermente più alti rispetto ad altri cinesi della zona ma sicuramente ne vale la pena : porzioni abbondanti, gamberi giganti nel riso e nei noodles e tutto perfetto. Consigliata degustazione dim sum, freschi e squisiti....Molto consigliato!

One of the best places to have dim sum in Manchester right now (and the best fried rice we have had in a long time). Their other dishes were also very tasty. Glad to see more good quality, authentic restaurants in Manchester. This place can be quite busy. Make sure to book in advance.

Late lunch today. We tried a couple of dim sum and snacks such as mangosteen beef, custard buns, mala cake, fried shrimp crackers, fried Luo Bai cake with X0 sauce, fried fresh squid.... Add fried rice noodles, braised pork with pickled vegetables, etc. Generally it tastes good, except for the braised pork with pickled vegetables (you really don’t have to try it)☺️

I had dim sum for lunch at Open Run 🥹 Home food is the best in England, which is famous for tasteless food. Really..❤️ Dumplings and changfun are really delicious, and meat dumplings that look like steamed buns are also the best. The dumplings taste like menbosha but are so delicious. I ordered it one more time. It was the most delicious cucumber bowl I’ve ever had in my life!!!! It was even better than the famous Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant in Bangkok, so if you're Korean, don't be suspicious and go eat dim sum..🫶🏻 Oh, and it goes great with jasmine tea, so keep that in mind! The staff are so friendly, and it's a place I'd want to visit every day if I were in Korea. Really 🥹🥹❤️ The atmosphere of the store is very nice, and it is neat and clean, so it gets 100 points even if you come with adults! The dim sum was so delicious that I went there again for dinner when I was in Manchester! Very tasty food. I love your dim sum and the crispy Cantonese beef was simply delicious! The Peking duck seemed too dry and shredded to me, but maybe that's how it was supposed to be. Very polite service, honest and friendly. I could feel good there and eat well.

Salíamos a tomar unas copas de Navidad y éramos picoteadores. He pasado por este restaurante muchas veces, pero nunca he estado en, así que arriesgamos nuestro brazo en conseguir una mesa en un viernes a la hora del té tan cerca de Navidad, pero tuvimos suerte. Se nos mostró a nuestra mesa y nos preguntó si queríamos bebidas. Ambos tomamos una cerveza china y notamos que muchas de las mesas estaban ocupadas con clientes chinos, lo que siempre es una gran señal. Nos dieron menús y un menú de banquete especial que para dos personas era realmente extenso y no sobreprecio. Pedimos dos sopas calientes y agrias y tomé Siu Mai dim sum y mi amigo tomó una mezcla de albóndigas de carne. Nos preguntaron si nos gustarían por separado, lo que siempre es bueno. No me gusta que mi dim sum se enfríe mientras como mi sopa porque soy un comedor lento. El dim sum llegó con salsa de soja. La sopa tenía una patada, pero era hermosa tenía muy buenas gambas en ella y sabía muy fresco. La dim sum se servía caliente y vaporoso y se notaba que estaban hechos en la cocina del restaurante que sabían muy bien y no como el siu mai habitual que se obtiene. Nos gustó tanto que pedimos otra porción. Tomamos otra ronda de tragos con mi amigo tomando una lata de IPA que había visto a alguien bebiendo en otra mesa El personal era encantador, atento y la señora que nos atendió era muy divertido sin querer. El restaurante es enorme, hay una planta baja donde están los baños que estaban impecables y también hay un nivel por encima de la zona de estar de la barra principal. Sin duda lo volveré a visitar.

Tasty food and helpful and friendly staff

For the quality of the food and specially the service, it is a very cheap place. This is it a fast food, don't expect to eat for 15 quids. Everything was absolutely outstanding, that restaurant deserves 4.7-4.8 minimum.

The food, service and atmosphere were brilliant, we had Dim Sum and it was delicious, plenty to choose from for meat eaters and Vegetarian or Vegan, a lovely restaurant we will certainly return X

Had our first dinner at Home after returning Manchester by coach. The sweet and sour pork was mediocre, the pork was not freshly made, very dry and tasted bland. The source was okay. The fish with pickled cabbage again was mediocre, the bowl was half filled with bean sprouts and pickled cabbage was hardly found. The fish used was neither cod nor sea bass. I reckoned that it was not of high valued fish. If a restaurant was good, I would probably think of revisiting again for tasting another dishes. Definitely not this one.

Because of where I live, I have not had dim sum in over 10 years. We asked a local store in China town where to get real dim sum and they recommended Home. They were so, so right. The turnip cake, one of my favorites, was just perfect and the steamed rice in lotus leaves was so flavorful. My special treat was the taro dumplings, only available on the weekends. All the dishes were delicious and they kept the spicy chili oil coming.

Lovely staff. The food is nice. Place is clean and tidy.

Today, two friends and I visited Home Chinese after a long day, hoping for a nice meal. We didn’t want to wait in long lines, so we decided to try our luck here. Unfortunately, it turned into a frustrating experience from the moment we arrived. When we asked if there was a table for three, the floor manager just left us hanging there without answer, tending to other things while we waited for an answer. All we needed was a simple “yes” or “no” so we could decide whether to stay or move on to another place. After dealing with train delays and a tough day, the last thing we wanted was to wait aimlessly in a poorly organized queue. After an extended wait, we were finally told that there was no table available. I mentioned to the floor manager that it would’ve been considerate to let us know earlier, sparing us from wasting time standing around. Shockingly, he responded rudely, saying, “It’s just 10 minutes—how is that a long time?” This kind of response was completely disrespectful and dismissive, especially when time can mean different things to different people under this situation. We chose this place because we’d had a pleasant experience here before, one of my friends really like their dishes, but after this treatment, it’s safe to say we won’t be returning. If basic courtesy and communication are missing, it’s hard to enjoy a meal. This was a deeply frustrating experience, and I hope the management can improve their approach to customer service in the future.

I took my daughter here For a meal to celebrate her ninth birthday with my family, the staff went all out, we got there and they had put up happy birthday balloons and banners, they dimmed the light and the whole restaurant sang happy birthday to my nine-year-old daughter, they then gave her a birthday card …. she absolutely loved it, she felt like a princess, I will be comming to this restaurant again 100% wonderful food with wonderful staff, we spent £180 and it was worth every penny

Very authentic, quality Chinese cuisine, but rather pricey; most items £20ish (certainly not an all you can eat studenty sort of place). At the same time very open and noisy and the toilets weren't particularly nice, so we didnt appreciate the price tag for, say, chicken feet and pork knuckles. Service was good, although the staff kept speaking to my partner in Chinese because she's Asian. Dim sum not served with any sauces so actually quite dry.

Generally speaking, all wild animals are delicious. But the price is a bit more expensive than other similar products

Home is the best Chinese in Manchester. I have been visiting so many of them over the past 20 years and there is nowhere as consistent as Home. Menu selection, quality, presentation and service are all spot on. Really look forward to visiting when in Manchester. Make sure you book a table (especially weekends) as it is popular.

We came back the next day because the food was delicious, nice and quiet surroundings, two extremely attentive and nice hosts and good and friendly staff everywhere! They could also take gluten-free into account

Stopped by here after a long travel day to get a takeout plate. Absolutely wonderful! The food was top-notch, authentic, and high quality. The portion was generous too. I upgraded the rice to fried rice and it was well worth it. Will have to visit soon to dine in and try other menu items!

After trying a large number of Chinese restaurants in Manchester we have officially found our favourite! 🙌🥢 Firstly the service was unmatched, a special shout out to ‘Jason’ who was looking after us, I felt a genuine warm and kindness from him as a person, nothing was too much to ask and he was very informative and helpful when it came to both the menu and taking orders. All other staff we came across during our visit were also super friendly and made us feel right at ‘Home’ (pun intended)… The atmosphere was second to none, by far the nicest setting Chinese restaurant I have been to in the Manchester area. The lighting, vibe and even tableware is refined and curated to add to the experience. Last but not least, the food was unreal and the portions were absolutely massive (the three roast meats especially was HUGE, we had to end up taking it back with us)!! The Crispy Belly Pork, Duck and Char Sui was out of this world, something I would definitely recommend if you’re unsure of what to order. My partner had the Crispy Beef in Cantonese sauce which she said was the best she’d had and it didn’t feel heavy and sickly like sometimes it can. We also shared an appetiser platter which was a great way to try multiple things, everything on this was great, but the ribs especially were 10/10!! I also liked the fact they offered IPAs sourced from Asia, at a lot of Chinese restaurants the drinks offer can sometimes be very limited, which was not the case here, the Neon Jungle IPA was top notch and was something I’d expect to be found in a nice craft beer bar! Overall, would highly recommended visiting for yourself, you will find the prices slightly higher than nearby alternatives such as Yum Cha, but the extra cost is 100% worth it due to the food quality, freshness and fantastic service/ambience ❤️

Me and my partner dined 24/09/24, unfortunately I have had to visit my GP, and take 2 days off work due to the food I ate here. I immediately felt sick whilst eating the food but thought nothing of it until the next day. We spent around £60 here and ultimately I would like my money back. Food poisoning. Service was great and very attentive, but for the price we payed, I am disappointed in the quality of food, which has made me and my partner sick. Photo attached as proof of my half of the bill. We also payed a mandatory £5-6 service charge.

Very good food, friendly staff and nice ambient decor 5⭐️ I would travel to manchester just to eat in this restaurant again Their roast meat are very good and in my opinion their crispy pork belly is the best in UK and I've tasted so many cantonese roast restaurants in london Their mango liu shabao (lava bun) is also a must try from me The staffs are very helpful, I was carrying a handcarry luagge when i arrive and they help me store it in a safe place The interior decor also looks high class while the food prices are still reasonable so it's a good place to bring your client for a business meeting or to treat your special someone If you plan to travel to manchester you definitely have to give this place a try, do note that some of their menu are not available for dinner like their porridge

My friend and i came to eat here on the 9th of September and have both been experiencing strong stomach pains ever since. I would hate to find out we received food poisoning or our meal was tampered with as serious further action to look into this case will and must be taken. Definitely will not eat here again or recommended any other person to, if you value your health and safety.

I am so glad that we found Home Chinese. We have tried Chinese restaurants in and around Manchester city centre and have not so far been impressed. Most seem to us to be tourist traps more concerned with speed and quantity than quality. Home Chinese has changed that. The restaurant is welcoming and spacious and reassuringly full of customers sharing Chinese heritage. This is a good sign! The staff are polite and efficient without being overbearing, there is plenty of room and above all, the food is both superb and plentiful. Every dish has that unmistakable taste of being freshly prepared to order. We ordered one dish and when it wasn't served with the others, we enquired about it to be told that it would be served shortly as its preparation was more complex than the others. Like I said - all freshly cooked to order. We have now been here twice and are already planning our menu choices for next time. We plan on hitting the dim sum menu heavily! Very highly recommended indeed.

If you want some high class Chinese food that is served in friendly and comfortable surroundings then this place is probably for you. You certainly don't need to queue to get in but booking is recommended as it can get busy. An encouraging thing is a lot of Chinese people seem to eat there and I always think this means the food is authentic. Every dish we've ever had there has been top class and we always start with the scallops and black bean source which are. The main courses are a good size of high-quality food and the crispy noodles with seafood was a particular standout. The wine by the glass is only okay but they have two different draft beers which are good. The service is helpful, fun and professional and we always order way too much so we can get a takeaway and enjoy it at home as well!

Our first time there was nice when were newly opened. Chose to go back to Home a second time yesterday after 6 months of so, but sadly the service we received was appalling. The waitress was unfriendly and unattentive. In an empty restaurant we had to wait more than 5 mins to get seated when it’s clearly not busy. At the table, we waited another 10mins n yet no one came to take any drinks order or food order. Waitress clearly saw us but was just not very friendly (she couldn’t care less to be honest). When I asked for a high chair for our little boy, she hinted that it wouldn’t fit on the table 🤦‍♀️. And the table n chair proportion wasn’t good either. The table is too high for the chair. In the end, we stood up n left. Wont be returning. Disappointed with Home.

We came here during pride after not being able to find any street stalls with good Vegan options. Everything we ate was delicious - both the Vegan and the non Vegan food. The service was great and they were super welcoming.

My new favourite restaurant, Home, in Manchester is 1700km away from my home, but I am already trying to come up with an excuse to go back. We discovered this gem of a restaurant while on a short break to Manchester - we were there 2 nights and ate at Home both days. It's that good. The service is super friendly, the food amazing, and the prices super reasonable! They even stocked a couple of interesting craft beers from Hong Kong's Gweilo Beer, what's not to love? Can't wait to return. Any excuse!
