Very tasteless food, wondering how it is possible to have asian food without any taste. Also the price for the dishes are higher than average but the quality is below average

The worst Asian food I have ever tasted in my life and I'm not the youngest. Completely tasteless food. And my 3 diner mates thought the same. Incredible bad.

Oh my days what can I say about this place.. The food is amazing. Delivers everything promised. Beautiful restaurant, very clean with excellent servers. We had a salt and pepper sharing platter as our starters.. from the crispy squid, to the crispy prawns, the crispy chicken wings to the crispy ribs every mouthful was a pure delight. So flavorful, fresh and crispy. With a just cooked temperature. Mains - I had the hot poached monkfish in chilli oil with glass noodles. Best dish I have ever eaten. If you like spice this is definitely one for you. My other half had Singapore Vermicelli and loved every mouthful. We will not hesitate to return here. And to our delight they also cater to takeaway. Worth the 20 minute drive for the quality. Blue Eyed Panda - thank you to all your staff for such a fantastic meal.

A group of 8 of us visited for a birthday meal. I didn’t even know this little gem was here with it being recommended to me. The staff were very friendly and offered advice too on menu choices. All of the food we had was cooked perfectly, piping hot and exceptionally tasty. The portion sizes were very good too. I realise it is personal choice but for me the food quality exceeded other places I have eaten at in Manchester’s China Town. I will certainly be visiting again!

not much atmosphere very cold in the restaurant sat in a window others offered radiators. Staff trying to take food away before I finished. Expensive for what it was think I will stick to our usual chinese in china town

Great restaurant this decent prices as well not very big portions but very tasty ..

Four of us went there for a meal, as it was recommended. We ordered sizzling mixed platter for two a 1/4 or a crispy duck to start. The pork rib in the platter was cold and bloody on the inside which it not expected and the crispy duck was tasteless with the poorest amount of spring onions and cucumber. We told the first waiter who said ok and cleared the table then took are drinks order. We mentioned it to our main waiter, who basically did say sorry about that and she would give chef a talking to. It didn’t feel that it was taken seriously. Main courses were ok, but the cost of the food outweighed the quality I would expect for an average cost of £15 per main. Never even got a discount off the bill for the platter with the raw pork. Will not be going again.

Do not ever order the supposedly braised beef brisket in Chinese curry sauce… this dish was definitely not beef brisket but a very cheap cut of beef braised and 70% fat, 30% meat at best. A definite miss and amongst the worst Chinese dishes I’ve ever had the misfortune to taste. A definite miss!!

Went on a Monday night, a night that most good restaurants are closed; had a great evening. Attentive and friendly host/server who made us feel welcome and gave us some great recommendations. Good neighbour restaurant atmosphere. Dishes were familiar, strong and balanced! Although I wish we’d had ordered more vegetables! The best prawn toast I’ve had for sure. Bao buns great. Would love to go back and try more of the menu. Somewhere you could take your partner and your mum.

Great food as ever at the Blue Panda. We had the shredded duck, spiced chicken, filet steak and everything was brilliant. Couple of mistakes with the order was unusual but these were put right without incident. Recommended.

I honestly feel like a bit of a mug paying £15 per main item for something so underwhelming. We ordered a takeaway. The crispy beef tasted very bland and possibly burnt. The stir-fried vegetables were very soft and drenched in garlicky water. Sadly a case that cost isn’t necessarily an indicator of quality. My parents dined in here in 2023 and were very happy, so maybe we were just unlucky.

Absolutely gorgeous tasting food, fresh and fulfilling.

Sorry but place left us totally unimpressed . Dim sum portion sizes were tiny and distinctly average for the price we paid. I spent the whole evening in my coat as our table was near the entrance and the door did not close properly as people entered and left the restaurant. On a positive note, our waitress was warm and welcoming

The food was good - when it eventually arrived. The focus of service was on a table of 28. We had to wait. Nearly two hours hours. We received an apology and two free drinks. Nevertheless based on that experience I would not return.

We ordered delivery from Blue Eyed Panda. The food is very tasty and excellent quality of ingredients. The drawback is that it is a bit pricey for the quantity of food, there's not a huge range of options compared to other Chinese restaurants, and the dumplings didn't quite survive the delivery drivers bike ride from the restaurant.

Great food and very pleasant staff, booked off the cuff and party of 6 easily accommodated. Very well priced and very tasty food. Sizzling fillet steak dish and salt and pepper chicken were great. All the dishes were tasty and well cooked and very light. Well worth the reviews it has.

The wait staff were pleasant and attentive and were able to answer our questions about the menu without issue. We started with hot and spicy soup which was akin to what you'd get at any standard Chinese takeaway but was nice enough. We then tried to order mains and the waiter had to come back to our table twice as the first two mains we ordered weren't available (This was half an hour after opening with about a third of the restaurant being full). We eventually settled on crispy beef with schezwan sauce. The waiter warned us that this would be spicy and we agreed this would be fine. We were presented with a meal that was bland and lacking any spice at all. I don't mean not spicy enough, I mean not spicy at all. Like corn flour had been added to water with half a teaspoon of MSG. We also ordered vegetable fried rice that was too oily and lacking salt. We left most of the main and informed the waiter that the food was bland enough to warrant commenting on. He informed us that a previous customer had complained it was too salty and so the chef likely over-corrected; this would explain the lack of salt but not the complete absence of chilis. He recommended to ask for it to be more spicy next time and that he would inform the manager. He disappeared out the back, presumably to speak to the manager, but no manager was polite enough to come to the table to speak to us. The bill came to around £50 - £60 including one beer and a pot of tea. We wouldn't recommend or return.

went there last night with jimbo and work mates The staff were very welcoming all with smiles on their faces . they gave great advice on what they recommended . the food arrived quickly and the taste and quality was second to none . I would highly recommend this place and challenge anyone to find a better Chinese in Manchester

Booked a table Saturday 25 November 2023...This is our go to Chinese in Manchester....Had a well prepared and tasty meal yet again....I can honestly say that this restaurant is up there with the best 👌....

Definitely the best Chinese I've had in Manchester so far. Ordered a huge assortment of food and none of it disappointed. Staff are super friendly and food arrived quickly. Went out of curiosity of their homemade dim sum and wonton soup. All the staff were very nice and made a table for me without booking on a busy Saturday night. I cannot comment on other food (looks alright from other tables but more like what you get in British Chinese restaurant), but Blue eyed panda not somewhere to come for dim sum. I think the mixed dim sum were slightly over steamed and no different to ones bought frozen from supermarket. The Xiao long bao is dry inside. Wonton is ok, but not much taste in the soup base. Overall, a pleasant place and nice staff but average food that's a bit pricey.

The food was really good. The service was excellent. The portion sizes were slightly smaller than expected. The washroom area was clean. I would still recommend this place to friends.

I live in the USA and miss British Chinese food. The food here is exceptional. Perfect Wonton soup, Delicious Sui Mai, Very Good Chow Mein and a fantastic Sweet & Sour King Prawn. In regard food quality, 10/10. So why only 4 stars ? well, portions are sufficient for one, but not the normal family style sharing size and prices are just a little higher than I thought was warranted. But honestly, I would return just because of the quality of the food.

I am reviewing while ordering bonus dish for me. I couldn't be more thankful to them for treating me with such a soulful food. They are extremely polite and professional. The food was hot and served quickly and was definitely fresh. I would highly recommend this place.

The chicken chow mein and garlic & chilli beef I had was plain and flavourless, and tasted very artificial. The garlic chilli beef was also very watery. For close to £15 each this is even more disappointing. Can't recommend it at all.

Called here totally unexpectedly and Kath found us a table. What a lovely person. The food was absolutely delicious and either the Manager or owner who (and I am not politically correct here) was drop dead gorgeous, had the most wonderful sense of humour and made sure everyone in the restaurant had a fantastic experience. Would I visit again. I would make the 360 mile round trip for another meal here.

Very tasty meal and super nice staff. Has some delicious chinese specialties and some other dishes more adjusted to the UK. The staff answered our questions and helped with suggestions when we were in doubt. Very pleasant and relaxed experience. Will return. The only thing I would suggest would be reduce the quantity of light to make environment more cosy.

We were a group of 14 and they handled us brilliantly. The quality of food is outstanding - all fresh and not a greasy msg dish in sight. We ALL thoroughly enjoyed it and would travel grrr instead of Chinatown every time .

Fantastic office night out for twelve of us . Between us we sampled most of the extensive menu and all really enjoyed....no mean feat to please everyone. Welcoming staff and prompt friendly service at very reasonable price. Was a Monday evening so pretty quiet. Can recommend the beef chow mein.

I have just left blue eyed panda, I had a tabled booked for 8pm I was not sat down until 20 past 8. No problem, however we had to wait an additional 20 minutes for someone to take our drinks/starter order. We then had to wait 40 minutes for our starter, which mine was really poor however, my girlfriends gluten free salt and pepper squid was very good. After another 50 minutes (in addition to all the other waiting) we decided to leave, they had no issue with us leaving and charged us for what we spent with a gracious offering of a £1.55 deducted from the bill. Avoid this place, not worth the stress. I’d give a 0 star if I could.

Went as a family of 10 with a dinner booking and were seated straight away. The decor was tastefully oriental and modern with plenty of seating options for different party sizes. Service was a little slow for food and drinks but the staff were incredibly friendly in spite of it being an obviously busy Saturday night. The dim sum were a little dense for my liking but full of flavour as were the salt and pepper starters. We'd ordered a variety of mains, from the Chow Meins to Thai red curries, which were impressive, but the showstoppers was the Szechuan style stir fried green beans with minced pork and Roast char siu.

The staff were very understanding and helpful despite it being crowded. The food did not take long to come and since I am a vegetarian, I got only the vegetarian options and that tasted very good. The ambiance was very good and I had a great time.

Service was good, food was nice but quite expensive, I wouldn't say it was worth what we paid for it and in hindsight, it would've been easier and cheaper to get a takeaway. They did charge us for the takeaway boxes that we used as well which is fair enough however the first time we have ever been charged - for 4 of us the meal came to £140. That's for 4 starters, 3 mains and 4 side dishes and drinks (one beer, the rest soft drinks). Portions were average. Atmosphere was relaxed, it started to get really busy when we were there. All in all, I'd say 5/10.

Delicious Chinese food served by caring attentive staff in a really nice Ancoats location. Lily the owner, worked out that by chatting to us that many of our friends come here. It's really nice to get that level of interaction and service. She also allowed us to change our table number from two to one - where else can you do that - I ask you. Joking asside an awesome place to eat.

Enjoyable meal and the blue eyed panda. The service was attentive and the food was excellent. The great thing about their menu is they serve many of the dishes with vegetarian "meat replacements". So we had Half Vegetarian Aromatic Crispy Mock Duck, which is the first time we could have this starter since going vegetarian! I wish more restaurants would take their lead as it's not that hard to do. I would definitely recommend them.
