Average Indian restaurant. The Okra fries were too soggy, not crispy and thin like it is supposed be. The sprouts bhaji had little sprouts and tasted more like onion bhaji. Overall an okayish place. Good interior giving you a college canteen vibe. But average in terms of food!

Indian vegetarian where you order several or many small dishes to share and have them with either biryani rice or prata or Pune breads. Order at counter and self served. Recommend the Sprout Bhajis (crispy onion, shredded sproutss & broccoli Bhajis spiked with fennel & chilli) which come served with a unique Cranberry Chutney - pairs excellently ! Baingan Baubles also not bad if you enjoy mild curry with braised Aubergine stuffed with nutty sweet & spicy masala (served with Basmati rice). Also ordered the Paratha & Thelpa which is basically Paratha stuffed with masala potato & cauliflower mix. Served with tomato chutney and achar pickles the latter of which you can skip if not so into sour eats but the chutney ya gotta have.

Ended a day in Manchester with dinner in Bundobust - Leeds branch repeatedly recommended by a friend so thought we'd give it a try - so glad we did!! Ordered the vegan combo for two, everything was so tasty and there was more than enough food for two with healthy appetites. The atmosphere was relaxed, the staff were friendly and the student discount made a reasonable price feel like a real bargain. Would definitely eat here again and recommend it to anyone.

On arriving at the restaurant we were welcomed by friendly staff. The restaurant is casual dining and this was perfect for a group of lads. We weren't aware, out fault that is was a vegetarian restaurant, but don't let this pit you off. Great service from all. Food was fast and tasty. Good value. Great tasting cocktails. You order food and drinks at the bar. Great for groups. Clean bathrooms also. The only reason I marked it down by 1 star is because we felt a bit rushed, we still had drinks post our meal, and we were informed our table was booked and that the people had arrived. We were not informed there was a booking when we were seated, and we were only there 1.5 hours. We would not have ordered more drinks had we known prior.

First off the beer was very good, and so was the house red too apparently. Waiting for our table at the bar was a delight. We booked a table early Saturday night, ordered loads of good stuff, about 3 dishes each and that was a bit much. The food was all great and fresh. Staff were efficient, the manager had a lovely waistcoat, all no hassle. The hard part is having to remember your tables food choices to order at the bar.

An amazing place with great atmosphere and food. I only rate it 4 stars because we asked them for some sweet chutneys and sauces because I’m a wuss when it comes to spice and was given a sharing dish that he promised wasn’t spicy (and one of them was really spicy and ruined the experience for me a bit plus we waiting a little while for them) so I only rate it down because of that. Will probably be back at some point though even just for drinks as the cocktails and craft beers were great!

Best ever mango lassi, avocado lassi, chat, thepla, aaloo paratha, kulchas, paneer kadai i had in England! Because of small portions, we need two plates atleast per person, however still extremely pocket friendly. I loved the paneer tikka too but it was slightly harder, so I would have preferred a softer one. The gobi Manchurian was average compared to rest. Above all, they accept blue light card , thus making this my go to place in Manchester! Highly recommended to everyone

I ended up with the Bundobar, mango lassi dazzler and Tropical Dhoop which were all great and would have had again. The tikla paneer was slightly spicy with lovely sauces, paratha thepla comforting and tangy. I also had the bundo Chaat which was very cooling and refreshing. We ordered paneer kadai Gobi Manchurian Bhajis Tarka dhal and rice Rice Each of these items were unbelievably delicious I especially loved the gobi manchurian as it tasted exceptionally tasty. The atmosphere has a younger crowd it is very busy and not at all what you would expect from the outside. The drinks we ordered was the cider and the lager both drinks, amazing as they brew them themselves. The only complaint I could possibly think of would be I can’t hear the music over how busy it is. Sunday lunchtime @ 1:30pm My first time trying Bundobust; I’m aware that this is a chain restaurant with several in many cities (2 apparently in Manchester alone, though this one doesn’t have the brewery!) Wasn’t expecting such a unique and ‘street food’ vibe as you walk down the stairs to this venue. Was promptly sat down albeit alongside a bench of other diners; street food style, I guess? I wasn’t expecting an order-at-the-bar setup but it was all pretty straightforward. Provide table number, order food and drink and wait for the drinks to take back to the table. The beer was good! The Bundobust own Python is refreshing with a hoppy, sweet aftertaste. The food arrived around 20 mins after ordering and everything was provided on paper bowls/plates for that authentic street food feel. The taste of the dishes were really good, the portions were a little lacking but I would say it opens up for you to try different things. It’s more like Indian tapas and they encourage you to order 2-3 dishes each. The paneer tikka was really good with the paneer having a bite to it, without crumbling away. It’s skewered with mushrooms and peppers but would have liked to see more variety of vegetables in it! The Chole Saag was nicely spiced and they recommend to pair it with the Cobis nu Shack, which was a cold vegetable dish akin to slaw with some vinegar acidity and sweetness from white raisins. The highlight of the meal was the Bhaji’s (and Bhaji burger!) which were very well seasoned and perfectly fried with little ‘oily’ residue you get often with them. I only dock a star as the service was very aloof and would have been nice to have been given a ‘thank you, goodbye!’ as we left. It seemed they wanted to just get the tables cleaned and rotated for the next customer! EDIT: 22/08/2024 - They have upgraded their paper containers to metal! The dishes now look extra fancy with their etched ‘Bundobust’ signature on the metal bowls.

I am writing this review keeping in mind that Indian food is supposed to be awesome in UK 🇬🇧 or maybe I had too high expectations after London! Very average food with wrong texture and not seasoned well! The okra fries were good but should come with a sauce. The parantha and puri were disgusting! Too doughy and oily! It’s not hard to make ! The chickpea curry was also not seasoned properly and it was just not made correctly! The chaat was good so go only for the chaat and okra fries and order sauce on the side ans even the sauce was AVERAGE!! Also I forgot to mention the disaster of the lunch which was egg bhurji! Absolutely catastrophic! It’s literally scrambled eggs with Indian spices! Literally! How can someone mess it up and it was so dry and disgusting 🤢 that I can still feel the disgusting texture in my mind

This place is fantastic, great/industrial setting which creates the atmosphere. Bench style communal seating is very relaxed and the food was superb, fresh very well spiced and our sharing platter just kept inviting you back more. Beers were great too, and the staff were very friendly. We were on a business trip, so it was refreshing to be able to hold a discussion without fighting music, and even though the atmosphere was buzzing with similar conversation this did not detract at all. All in all a very worthy 5/5.
