Really lovely space for live music. Sound baffles (with colour fades!) on the ceiling, slightly sprung floor, good sight of the stage from lots of angles. And pleasant space outside as well, although when I went there was no floating between inside and outside. Yeah - nice! Recommend

We went to see randy feltface, 8.30 showing, to get in we had to understandably wait in a qué which stretched around to the back of the theatre. If you're with someone who's not able to stand for long contact the theatre before attending is my advice. Security were great with the lady in our group who had difficulty, but there was an incident between some horrible Scottish guy and a guy who suffered from sciatica who had to sit down on a wall whilst in the queue. Again security did a great job sorting that out. We managed to get into the hall after about 30 mins. We reconvened with our friends and sat on what I can only describe as the most un-butt worthy chairs I have ever had the incontinence to sit on. It was hell with four legs. The floor is obviously flat, as I think the venue is usually standing only. Meaning the huge guys we ended up sat behind eclipsed all of our views of the stage. After being unable to focus on Brodie snook for the giant bald head I was sat behind, I never knew they made heads that big, after a half hour she finished and left the stage. And they had a twenty minute interval, twenty minutes. Ugh you'd have thought we were warmed up and could continue to the main event but noooo. Let's cool everyone right back down. Eventually the lights dimmed and randy started his act, oh, some of the lights pointed at the audience were blinding, everyone missed the first time the banana popped up because we were blinded, however it was awesome the lighting seemed on the whole good we had rearranged our foursome in an attempt to match our oversized stage eclipsers. And randy started to speak... the sound was so muffled I couldn't understand anything that was being said, so much so on the car journey home I mentioned I thought I should go get a hearing test to which everyone else said the same thing. None of us understood a word of randys opening gambit. Probably why we all found the inflatable banana bit so hilarious. I was leaning right into the isle for the entire performance to gain my view of randy down the isle. When we had messages from our 15 year old son. I left briefly to talk with him, omg he had been assaulted back home while out playing basketball with his friends after speaking to him for five minutes he seemed fine just a little shaken, I told him to get something to eat and drink and that we would be home around midnight. The rest of the show understandably I wasn't really able to focus which was a shame. Anyway in conclusion wait not great sound quality is bad, seating horrific. Hope others had a better night than us maybe we will go out again in another five years or so.

I also didn’t like that you had to put your phone number in and get a verification code to order, it took ages for the codes to come through. 2 stars because of the gender neutral toilets, as a woman I think it’s quite alarming that venues think that this is ok.

This review is purely for the young man who decided he would go out of his way to change the sweater I had bought from the merchandise stall which was the wrong size. The venue was closed. Doors shut. He could have sent me on my way and thought nothing of it. Instead he chose to take my item, run up the stairs himself and find a replacement. I'm sat wearing that sweater writing this. Fits perfect. Customer service with a conscience. Thank you. It's also a great live music venue by the way and has the best sound and acoustics of any venue in Manchester. I've been to them all

DJ Shadow - The STICKIEST DANCEFLOOR EVER!! Made for a very uncomfortable experience, was literally glued to the floor, horrible. If you're running gigs back2back try spending money on cleaners instead of drug dogs. Worst venue I've seen Shadow at. At £4.00 for half a lager, I can't imagine how the floor got so sticky. Did Shadow choose not to have the 'amazing ceiling lights'?? Zero light show - boo. Turbo Bass felt good, but I don't want to hear people talking to each other - the sound was screwed, did not suit the legend that is DJ Shadow.

Venue itself is really cool for a gig so 5 stars for that, however last night was let down by the ridiculously over the top security procedures to get everyone in. The queue had to go single file past sniffer dogs (those private security ones that aren’t actually real sniffer dogs, the security seemed to be randomly picking people out of the queue to search), then individually patted down by just two people. This meant the queue to get in was 20-30 mins long and snaked right around the venue. Never experienced that going to a gig before.

Had to jump through hoops and email a copy of the ticket. Nothing. Sent it again and after several days I got a response, everything fine, please purchase a carers ticket which I did. Can you complete an access requirement form which I did. I have now had a response to say they can only accommodate 3 wheelchair users. Not good but already had to jump through hoops for them to tell me this and now I am having to apply for a refund. If you are disabled I would forget it - not accessible at all and shouldnt have to jump through hoops to be told no.

Great potential, loved the venue, but let down by its implementation. - You're meant to order food and drink using your phone, but the phone signal inside is poor. - I'd have expected WiFi to get around this issue but couldn't see an open network, and if there was guest WiFi then the password wasn't displayed anywhere obvious. - The mobile site that you use to order isn't intuitive and was difficult to browse and order from different vendors at the same time. - The food choices from each vendor were limited and they closed early on the Thursday I was there. I was adding items to my basket, and when I came to submit the order it said the vendor had since closed! That said, one of the vendor's did allow me to place the order manually and the food was nice ( pizzas ). Don't think I'd go back as there are many more better nearby venues which simply work better (eg New Century).
