Food is average. Steak was tough. Chicken was average, dry, and not seasoned. Underwhelming.

Came here after recommendations from a few friends and I'm glad I did. Service is quick and prompt. The food is super tasty, I especially enjoyed the whipped goats cheese, and the falafels (not dry at all). The most surprising dish was the disco cauliflower. I wasn't sure what to expect but it is the tastiest cauliflower I've ever eaten. The lunch menu is especially good value for money but I'd be happy to pay their usual prices!

Recommended to me by my partner! Did not disappoint. The food was incredible and came out very fast. The little fish (I forget the name) and the Disco Cauliflower were easily the best dishes. They recommend 2-3 small plates each, we ordered 8 between 2 and it was plenty of food! Charlotte our server was amazing, very attentive without being overbearing! Got our drinks order in as soon as we sat down. Really smiley and was stood having a chat with us recommending all her favourite dishes, making time even though she was obviously busy! Atmosphere was great and all the staff had smiles on their faces!

Amazing, will definitely be returning. Great atmosphere even on a Monday night, very helpful and informative waiter who recommended items on the menu based on our own taste. The food was probably the best I've had in Manchester, especially the sharing platter and cauliflower (amazing vegetarian/ vegan options). The cheesecake was also delicious. Can't wait to come back!

Lovely experience from start to finish. All the small ideas they have put together to form the menu have really paid off. Every bite came together and we left feeling the perfect level of fulfillment. A good place to add to your list for veggies & carnivores.

Been to Maray in Liverpool Docks and food staff etc. lovely . So pleased to try Manchester and food, service and staff just as good 👍Perhaps Liverpool has the better outlook over Albert Dock. However there is a nice outside area here but a bit too chilly today to sit out. Would not hesitate returning to Manchester Maray again.

It’s taken me a few weeks to sit down to share my astonishingly perfect restaurant experience I had at Maray Manchester, but don’t confuse that for lack of enthusiasm! I will try to be brief to cover as much as possible, because I was so so impressed by every detail. 1. I wanted to have my birthday party at the restaurant, and from the beginning the restaurant (particularly the amazing manager Becca) had such warm ease in resolving my questions and some serious hurdles. 2. On the night, our main server Meg created such a special & friendly atmosphere. To have a birthday card on the table, asking all about the desserts I’d brought and really making a huge effort to present them attractively, never hovering or interrupting the flow of conversation, being around whenever we needed her and arranging for the ENORMOUS feast we ordered to arrive in a smooth, continually successive waves that all just felt so natural. That last part has been SO rare in sharing places I’ve been to! 3. It was so lovely to not be rushed to pay, let alone to leave; this was the case for so many tables around us chatting well beyond “close time” and again that is not my usual experience. 4. Even the level of friendly respect and very casually giving us space to sort out payment. Often the splitting of the bill or discussion of service charges is so awkward but again, the staff really treated us like humans. 5. I haven’t even mentioned how amazing the food was; it feels almost redundant! But my god is it drool-worthy. We ordered the entire vegetarian menu and quite possibly it was the best decision of our lives. You can see in other reviews how attractive the food is - I have no photos to offer because every plate was simply licked clean 🤤 I HAVE to mention the carrots and sweet potato as unexpected standouts!! But literally nothing is not worth ordering. ln short, I will be shouting about the staff, the dishes and Maray in the streets. I had such a special birthday and I am very grateful ❤️

A firm favourite of ours—we come here often because the food is always delicious and the staff are incredibly friendly. We brought our parents this time, and the lovely Morgan took the time to explain everything to them with such patience. Fantastic wine knowledge and an outstanding server! We came here as a couple on a Thursday evening. We hadn’t booked but were accommodated when there wasn’t many tables left The food was beautiful and the service was kind & helpful

A taste of perfection, if you know how delicious looks like, think again. One of the best flavoured restaurants I’ve tasted. We’ve tasted 6 of thier offerings and all were enormously delicious, maybe except for the beef platter. It’s a must visit in Manchester.

Had a fantastic meal at Maray. The food was amazing and service was fantastic. Staff regularly checked in and cleared the table when needed. They were thoughtful and provided a card for our anniversary. We ordered a variety of plates our favourites were the shawarma oyster mushrooms, ox cheek, disco cauliflower and the baklava cheesecake! Plates came out quickly and as they are prepared. This was nice but having them staggered would have been a small improvement. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Had a great time at Maray, slightly out of my comfort zone food wise but it opened my eyes. Atmosphere was laid back and welcoming and Tina our server was perfect with her suggestions. She was the right level of attentiveness and really made us feel welcome. Had a good laugh with her. Fantastic experience.

As a vegan always on the lookout for delicious food with plant based whole food protein, I was blown away by Marays menu! The vegan desert is a must as well. The atmosphere is extremely welcoming ❤️

Visited Maray again last night and was once more blown away by the delicious food and exceptional service. I introduced another friend to the restaurant and they were buzzing too! The vegan and gf options are plentiful which is always appreciated as a lot of restaurants can't seem to make delicious food that combines the two. The fact that it caters to so many pallets makes it a must when out with friends as there's something tasty for everyone. I can't stop recommending the place.

We have been to Maray twice now in the last couple of months and I can't recommend it enough. We will go again without a doubt. The atmosphere is great and the food is absolutely sensational. Need to give a massive shout out to our server Tina, we have been lucky enough that she has looked after us on both our visits. She is easily one of the best servers we've ever come across, and we eat out a lot. She is so bubbly and positive. Her knowledge of the menu is fantastic, she is an absolute asset to the business. If you're on one of her tables you're very lucky, she's a 🌟

As part of our business team evening out, we were greeted with a warm welcome, constant attentive service with a friendly smile, all going the extra mile and accommodating all our diet needs. Food simply outstanding, tasty, plentiful, beautifully presented and desserts a real treat. Highly recommend.

It's so nice to eat somewhere that has good options for someone who is both veggie and gluten-intolerant. Often, restaurants think you can be one or the other but Maray catered for us well. Very tasty dishes, nice atmosphere and the 2 wait staff we had were very friendly and helpful.

The food is sooo tasty, each dish has an amazing harmony of flavours and textures. The dishes are very colourful and interesting. It’s a great spot for vegetarians there are so many options (majority of the menu). Must try: disco cauliflower, za’alook

I’ve been before, but a set Sunday roast menu is a very different experience. In general I normally defend a restricted menu as a positive - focusing on the strengths of ingredients and cooking. And to be fair is was not without merit, but lacked the level of care that I had experienced previously, perhaps it was the Mother’s Day rush, but it lacked the sort of attention one would normally expect. On the plus side the wine menu is suitably interesting, Bloody Mary was top notch and the staff were lovely.

Went for dinner with my boyfriend and wow didn’t disappoint. Food was so good, atmosphere was chilled and service was lovely. Will definitely be back and recommend to others. Perfect for a date or friends and family. The disco cauliflower 10/10 recommend😍

My husband and I were in Manchester for the day and hadn’t prearranged any dinner plans. We had a look at restaurants in a walkable distance from where we were and came across Maray Manchester. Despite not having a booking, we were warmly welcomed and taken to a table straight away. I have to say it was the best food we’ve had in a very long time. The wine was delicious, the Hummus and pitta was fantastic and I highly recommend trying their famous cauliflower! I’ve already recommended it to multiple friends, colleagues and family members and would definitely go back again! The servers were lovely and knowledgeable, and the food was most definitely a 5 out of 5.

Very lovely restaurant! Good service and good vibes. The portions are great with lots of veggie and vegan options. I was very very hungry so got two of the plates and shared a vegan mezze with a friend! Despite my hunger, this was still a lot of food… Perhaps 3 between two is the way to go! The bread and butter pudding is to die for 😍 Will defo be back, seems a good spot for a nice casual dining experience.

The service was top notch and the food was delicious. We both thoroughly enjoyed the food and overall experience. We had the roast dinner. The potatoes and beef were a particular highlight! We will definitely be back!

As spring whispers, and the days of lent go by, I am reminded of a trip a friend and I made down to Maray. A beautiful haven whose menu is largely Middle Eastern and mediterranean inspired, we opted on this occasion to dine from the uniquely curated vegan menu available. "Perfect space to fall in love with authentic vegan meals" is the best way I can describe the small plates- dinning experience and would be my reply when asked. I have attached pictures of the meals and receipt(split between 2) below; Following the video, we had the; warm pittas- a portion each which were quite filling alongside the oyster mushroom shawarma, sweet potato.. Table favourites: the falafel and cauliflower Bhajis!! An absolute delight. For dessert we shared the salted chocolate ganache. For drinks, cherry coloured funk cocktail was a sweet delight- an excellent thanks to recommendation from Dean who was lovely throughout the night! Rounding up the night with a glass from the digestif menu- Amaro Montenegro was perfect! I love the fact that it is right next to St Mary’s- Manchester’s hidden gem; a beautiful Catholic Church- so another good reason to pop down especially during this Lenten season.

Maray is such a great spot in Manchester, the food is always delicious, and the interior is really nice. The staff are lovely too, which makes the whole experience even better. The menu is mostly vegetarian, but there are a few meat options as well. Honestly, even if you’re not veggie, you won’t miss the meat, the dishes are so well thought out. And I have to mention the Brussels sprouts… they’re incredible! Highly recommend for a chilled catch-up with friends or a relaxed meal out. Definitely one of my go-to spots!

Impeccable restaurant! One of the tastiest meals I've ever tasted. The mix of all the flavors is simply inexplicable. Wonderful service and very pleasant space. Fair price! It's totally worth it!

My wife and I visited Maray for the Sunday roast on 09 March and it was brilliant. We don't eat meat so the chickpea roast was ideal. The portions are really generous and everything was perfectly cooked. The fenugreek roast potatoes are worth a visit just for them. The sidedish of greens in cream sauce was lovely and well worth £4.50 extra. We shared a medjool date and bread and butter pudding with ice cream for dessert because we were too full to have one each. It was lovely and a proper treat. We had a bottle of Georgian white wine to drink which made a great change from the usual grape varieties. Georgia is the oldest wine producing country on earth, with wine being produced there for over 3,000 years so it's great to see it on the wine list and an example for other restaurants to follow. Miriam looked after us and she was amazing, welcoming, friendly and kind and a credit to the restaurant. We had a lovely afternoon at Maray and recommend 100% and look forward to our next visit.

Amazing food and great service! I went here for my birthday dinner which I put in the booking notes, and the staff gave me a birthday card saying “Happy Bri-thday” (my name is Bri). Thought that little touch was very meaningful and shows how they care about their customers! Food was delicious, I would definitely recommend the disco cauliflower. Will be back again!

We went for a Friday evening dinner. The place is good, but I was put off by the service from the go. Somehow they just wanted us to rush through the whole thing. We ordered: Mezze sharer - amazing! Disco cauliflower- brilliant! Fattoush - meh Baklava cheesecake- amazing again. Drinks: Spelling bee - amazing Old fashioned- alright Fig negroni- alright Royale (something) - amazing! Service was soooo poor. Our host literally came to tell us that we only have 15 mins left and we need leave so that he can give the table to someone else. They constantly kept pushing us to order everything together. No space to pace ourselves and really relish a good dinner. The service really left a bitter aftertaste. But the food is bangin!

Took my sister here for their January deal, and all the food was amazing. The staff were really nice and friendly, and helped us with what to order. It was a little loud for us but that's just us. Great vegan and vegetarian options if you can eat nuts

Dining at Maray has always been a lovely experience. If you love tapas style sharing and Middle Eastern inspired food then this is the place for you. Booking ahead is key as it's usually busy, even on a weekday. I've tried a mix of the veg, meat and fish dishes, as well as some of their appetisers. All have been delicious, but in particular the disco cauliflower, oyster mushroom shawarma, halloumi, and crispy sea bass. Packed full of flavour and different textures, each dish left me wanting more. The restaurant itself is cosy and has a nice atmosphere, although some 2 seater tables are bit close together so you can feel a little cramped when it's busy. Service is good and the staff are wonderful and friendly. The menu is a bit more on the expensive side, but overall worth it if you're looking for a meal that's close to fine dining but doesn't completely break the bank.

Loved this- ate all vegetarian food there, and it was great. Cocktails were nice too. Only constructive feedback would be that the dishes literally fly out of the kitchen, and would be nicer to pace them a little so we could enjoy more

One of the best meals I have had in Manchester, sharing plates of joyful food. We several dishes but there were some standouts including the disco cauliflower, whipped goats cheese, chickpea dopiaza, lamb arayes and falafel sharer. This was a wonderful meal out, deep slow cooked flavour bombs hitting left right and centre, I can't say just how good eating here was, I am salivating just thinking about it. The staff were competent and friendly and on hand for any questions, a joy to deal with. I would say good for any occasion, but why limit yourself? Come here and you will eat well and leave satisfied, you may need to roll home but who can complain when the food is this good.

Everyone’s raves about the disco cauliflower (which was great) but the sweet potato is SLEPT ON!!! Best dish by miles!!! Hats off to the chefs. This place can do no wrong though, everything tasted amazing, the staff were great, the atmosphere was perfect, and the team were really careful with my allergies and they were able to adapt ALL dishes to fit my diet so I didn’t have to miss out! Really well priced and worth it on an average day, but I went during their January 40% off deal which was even better!

Amazing food, can't say much more other than you need to try it!

We had a booking for 4 people on a Tuesday night and it was already lively inside. The place was nicely decorated and had a positive atmosphere. I noticed there weren’t any tables near the bathroom which is great. All three of the servers we had were very pleasant and funny! The person who took our orders was willing to talk me through the different options in terms of how each dish was prepared as I wanted something lower in calories and there wasn’t a calorie menu available. Our food came out fairly swiftly and we were warned that they’ll come out at different times as common with mezze dining. The vegan options were just as tasty as the veggie and meat dishes. All came out presented beautifully and at good temperatures. There was no salt or pepper on the table but the food was seasoned well so no need for it personally. We were checked up on and offered more drinks. At the end, my friend wanted a to-go box and they had some. The dishes ranged from £6 to £15 ish and so we all paid around £30 including drinks and tips.

One of the best restaurants in Manchester at the moment, the dishes are unique and delicious! Would recommend the disco cauliflower, oyster mushroom shawarma, and boquerones, but you can't go wrong with any of the dishes at Maray. Service is always friendly and speedy. Lunch deal is great value too.

This is some of the best food I've had in Manchester. Absolutely delicious and I'll definitely be going back. Reasonably priced too considering the location. Only thing that could be improved would be for the tables to be a bit wider to fit all the dishes and for more sound insulation on the ceiling as it's a bit too noisy.

Amazing food, amazing drinks, amazing service! Came during the January 50% off food deal and greedily ordered most of the vegan tapas available - all of which was gorgeous. The cauliflower, oyster mushrooms, and falafel were highlights - even tho I usually find falafel overdone. The fig negroni was lovely, and we had orange wine with our mains. We had the amaro digestif to finish, which was a lovely finish to an overindulgent, but budget friendly, evening.

Went with colleagues from London last night after booking a table via telephone. I did amend the amount of people via the WhatsApp service. Upon arrival the host was incredibly rude and stand offish and gave the group a dirty look. I explained that I had a booking and she asked to see a confirmation, showed her my phone and she rolled her eyes. We sat at the raised section and were told that we could have a table in 30 mins (despite me showing the phone with my booking information…)so we went to a bar next door and came back. Upon entry the second time, the staff were so lovely and welcoming! Our waiter was a delight and the food was phenomenal! We had a really great time just a shame that the initial welcome was somewhat lukewarm to say the least.

We stayed at Manchester for the weekend and wanted somewhere new to try as we visited from South Wales, and we are so happy that we found Maray! Straight away we were made to feel welcome by incredibly friendly staff, who explained the menu to us and recommended how many dishes to eat etc. We ordered 8 dishes between us, and they were all super tasty and fresh!! They were all packed with so much flavour and were inventive dishes. Super pleased that we visited and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Manchester!

Tina was phenomenal!! So warm and gorgeous, food was UNREAL as well!

Overall a good experience. Really friendly greeting on arrival. Seated immediately and given water. The menu was fully explained. Service throughout was wonderful. The decor of the restaurant was nice and tables well spaced so you had a lot of room. The food was nice however there were a few dishes not to my taste. The chocolate ganache was not like any other I have tasted, more like a chocolate sauce that had been thickened with cornflour. The price point was reasonable. I wouldn’t rule out visiting again but might not be top of my list.

Been a couple of times recently to make the most of the 50% off vegan food during January. Food is brilliant, very fresh and very tasty. Served by the wonderful Jools both times too. He is one of the nicest people you can come across. Incredible at looking after you. He’s a credit to Maray and will go far :) big up Jools!

We visited Maray recently for my sisters birthday and it met every expectation, we had one gluten free diner and one vegan and they were catered too beautifully - my favourite was the mushroom shawarma and the braised carrot dish was a firm favourite, definitely definitely start with hummus and pitta! The star of the show had to be the person that served us, Tina was incredible, very attentive and made sure to reassure our gf diner when she was a little nervous - 10000/10 one of the best dining experiences I’ve had a while! Thank you Maray and thank you Tina ♥️

Can't recommend this place enough....fantastic food...great portions and SO tasty. AND... we had the loveliest server/waitress ever in Tina who was incredibly helpful, warm and professional. There really aren't enough superlatives for the whole experience. (And we are fairly discriminating restaurant goers!)

Visited as a duo on a Friday night. Delicious food, delivered as it was ready, perfect for sharing. I especially recommend the goats cheese, carrots, falafel and cod loin. Excellent service from Tina and other staff, we didn't feel rushed. Innovative payment system allows splitting the bill, equally or by which dishes you ordered (though we shared everything).

My visit to Maray was brilliant and I genuinely can’t fault anything. The food was some of the best flavour / texture combinations I’ve ever tasted. I’m obsessed with the hummus and the seabass dish. The pricing for the quality and portion size is brilliant - there’s so many restaurants where I’ve paid much more money for mediocre quality. I also love the vibe and decor of the restaurant. Our waitress was very accommodating, she gave us some great recommendations! And the guy on the door was also very lovely too! Overall I had an amazing experience 😊
