Great spot to sit on the sun and enjoy cocktails! Service was a bit slow, but cocktails were really nice! Reasonable prices.

Never visited before, however my friends 30th was held here and it was beautiful

We hired House of Esk for a private event and had an amazing time! Our guests absolutely loved the space. The drinks were top-notch and the service was excellent. Emma and her team are really friendly and organised so everything ran smoothly. We'd definitely recommend choosing them for your event.

We came for wine and ordered a primitivo for £36. Nobody showed us a bottle or offered us a taste, but a carafe mysteriously arrived with pieces of cork in it. Our wine was quickly taken away and replaced. On trying it the wine was undrinkable. Nobody checked whether we liked it or not. We left after two sips; money down the drain, where the wine belongs.

Beautiful area by the canal. Good, clean crisp pints. Friendly amicable bar staff. Great place to relax and watch the world pass by

I always mean to spend more time here than I do; Emma certainly deserves the business and it's one of those places, so rare in Manchester these days, where you can instantly feel at ease and enjoy yourself without that horrible feeling of being just another customer, waiting to be turfed out once the money stops. Spend enough time here and it starts to feel like a real community as you get to know everyone. Plus the cocktails are incredible :)

Fabulous staff, really attentive and care a great deal about the service every visitor receives. Venue itself has a wonderful atmosphere.

The perfect place for drinks with friends or a chilled weekend afternoon. Their Wednesday quizzes are always so fun. Shoutout to Emma who is a legend and to her team who are the loveliest people!

Visited House of Esk with a group of friends and had a great time! The atmosphere was just what we were looking for, perfect for a girls night out. The staff were also incredibly friendly making sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. We loved the new wine menu, highly recommend checking it out!

We as a family have been visiting this bar for years, first for the ice creams which stopped but we have always made a point of having a couple of drinks , as other reviews say a lovely atmosphere, and when the sun shines its a perfect spot. I've lived and worked in miles platting all my life and love the regeneration of the area but last week we was turned a way after finding chairs to go round the empty table ,myself,my partner, my 11 Yr boy and our dog, the guy came out amd said that they no longer allow children ! I'm confused as there was a couple with a baby in the pram is that allowed ? Babies welcome until there on there feet, no children under 18 years old or over 18 months old allowed. I don't know ! I only know that I won't be visiting this bar again when we do have a sitter, shame as there's lots of young professionals who will be looking to start families,and as far as I can see its always been one of the quietest bars on the marina so to restrict there clientell will put them in a minority. Finders keepers allows children just for anyone who ends up in the same predicament as us.

My friends and I stumbled across this place as we were looking for a Christmas drink. Great atmosphere and super friendly staff and had the best mulled wine I’ve ever tasted. Definitely would recommend.

This has quickly become one of my favourite bars! Great vibes and choices of drinks, along with a lot of events to cater to different kinds of people (including me who loves a pub quiz). Definitely somewhere I love going on the Ancoats marina

Great spot on the Ancoats Marina with the best Christmas decorations in town. The winter cocktail menu is superb, the dark chocolate old fashioned will give you that winter warmth you need! The staff are amazing and host many events from cocktail tasting to quizzes and wine (and cheese) nights. Definitely a place to keep an eye on for things going on, or just to stop off for a cheeky beverage and a chat.

Sat outside in the sunshine watching Generation Z (or was it Y?) enjoying themselves. A couple of lovely beers, served by a funky guy who had all the time in the world to chat.

One of my favourite bars in the city centre/ Ancoats! The vibes are immaculate - 10/10. Wednesday quiz night pops off. Also, the white sangria is gorg! Thank you Emma and team ✨

Brilliant spot for a drink right beside the marina. Good variety of wine, beer and cocktail.

Cosy and festive in winter for a nice wine, and the last place on the marina to get the sun in summer whilst you finish your cocktails. The team are always welcoming and friendly and make you feel at home. My go to bar whatever the weather.

Absolutely gorgeous independent bar right on the New Islington Marina with a great selection of both Signature and Classic Cocktails, Gins, Wines & Beers (my favourites are the Marina Breeze cocktail, or the White Peach Sangria!) 🍸🍹 Loads of outdoor & indoor seating, great atmosphere and a very popular relaxed quiz on a Wednesday night! Agree with other reviewers - why no tea and coffee anymore? Totally against what customers want at 4pm. Only when I left after being told there was no tea available did it dawn on me that id gone specifically because I had a nice cuppa when I was last there. And this laptop ban - member of staff sitting by the bar - typing away on his laptop about 2 metres from the sign. So silly!

I’m really sad to leave such a negative review as we’ve loved House of Esk for a long time, but we were very disappointed today to find out that you no longer serve food or coffee. Also very surprising as a business decision considering the place next door was rammed with people eating brunch (as most people want to do at midday when we turned up, as opposed to drink cocktails) and House of Esk was completely empty for the hour we were sat next door. 5 stars for service as the staff member working there very nicely told us that they no longer served any kind of food or coffee, but ultimately very disappointing as it was a great spot on the marina to have coffee & brunch. Wish you the best of luck with the new target market but we’re sad you no longer cater for us.

We recently visited House of Esk as we live local to the marina. The new refurbishment has been done very tastefully, with a cosy decor and atmosphere, and we enjoyed trying the different wines and cocktails on offer. The staff are what makes this place a pleasure to visit, Emma and her team are always super friendly and welcoming, not to mention amazing mixologists! House of Esk is now one of our go to places on the marina, and would highly recommend visiting. The outdoor seating space is a lovely addition and something that is quite limited in the city, perfect for the summer months and evenings - we look forward to returning soon!

Fantastic wine and cocktail bar 🍸🍷🍺! Cosy neighbourhood bar on the inside and the seating area outside is a great marina sun trap on the nicer days ☀️. Love the new decor and the bar has a lovely atmosphere. Dog friendly too which is a huge plus 🐶. Staff are also super friendly.

Unfortunately this place has really went down hill in recent months. They used to do good coffee, but then became really money hungry. Management watch over you at the table if you take too long, take your drinks before you've even finished, and are one of the only places in manchester banning laptops... Now, the place is deserted, as they're focussing on higher cost alcohol (even mid-day during the week) and no more tea / coffee available... Shame, its a great location. Hope another good company / management can take it over.

Alcoholics welcome, but if you don’t drink they don’t serve coffee nor soft drinks! Their Facebook page says “Licensed Coffee House on the canal. Bagels, coffee, wine, beer, Dog friendly. Outdoor terrace” but they don’t serve coffee! If you’re tea-total you’re not welcome.

Service is being stopped over 30 min before closing hour

We were 3, bought 3 drinks and stayed for half an hour, after which we were rudely asked to leave because they were "busy". There were empty tables and seats inside and there was no queue or anything like that. Never visiting again

Popped in for about 6 hours yesterday. Really nice interior, good offering on drinks and food and a really nice view of the marina. There are always people looking for cafes to make their local, this is strong contender.

Visited on a Saturday during a very busy period and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Very conveniently located in Ancoats - will definitely be coming back when I next pass through. The peach ice tea comes with a very strong recommendation, and I will definitely be trying the milkshakes next time

When I moved to the neighbourhood new Islington house of ESK was the best place me and my husband love coming to over and over again!the staff are so friendly we feel like we’ve known them forever 😊the place has a fantastic atmosphere the drinks are so cool a wide selection to choose from and the food is to die for 🤤🥰

When first looking to move to Manchester we came upon House of Esk and the service is exactly what helped seal the deal for our moving to this part of town. Their varied menu offerings and impeccable (friendliest in town) customer service keeps us coming back for more. We may be in the city, but House of Esk makes us feel like we're home. A place to relax, enjoy, unwind or turn it up. Can't get enough of House Of Esk!
