Absolutely brilliant and great food

The food is delicious but can be a bit overpriced for the portions.

We called in again as my children loved the buffet choice on there last visit. This time however was a very different experience. The food was tasty the deserts could be of better quality but overall not to bad. The welcome and service this time was very below parr. We were a family of 2 Adults with 2 children aged 9 and 12. On leaving I was charged for 3 Adults and 1 child. She asked me how old she was which I replied 12yrs old. She said there policy was to charge adult after the age of 11. Well when on earth does a 12year old ever pass as an adult. Any way she stuck to her guns with no apology or smile. I will point out it was the same lady that didn't care less wetherer or not we were there or not. Not a great experience and I can not help but feel riped off!!!

I love thai food but the food here was so bland and the dumpling’s were breadcrumbed and fried not like the authentic smooth thai dumplings. Nice staff and clean restaurant.

Having a walk in Manchester after visiting the David Hockney exhibition. Fancied something to eat. We came across Thaikhun in Spinningfields. We both like Thai food so we thought give a try. Hence, not a planned visit. We started with a sharing platter for two. It consisted of Prawn Toast, Spring Rolls, Beef Jerky and Chicken wings. The Prawn Toast was dripping in oil, the Beef Jerky was like shoe leather, the chicken wings although coated in a nice sauce were mediocre. The spring rolls were very good. I immediately thought they have been bought in and not made on the premises, Presentation was abysmal, nothing like what is usually associated with Thai food. Main course another sharing platter with a choice of dishes. Sweet and sour good. Thai green curry inedible, Noodles warmed up and disappointing. Coconut rice limp and bland. Overall we should have walked past this restaurant. I now realise Thaikhun is part of a chain of restaurants with the same name. Food prepared and made to a formula, lacking flair and imagination.

We had a lovely time at Thaikhun, really nice decor and the staff were really friendly. We tried several dishes and all were both tasty and very generous portions especially for the price!

Nice food, nice vibe would highly recommend

The interior is very authentic to Thailand but also very urban and modern. This enhances the meal / food. With the first bite of the pork belly as it melted in my mouth I fell in love with this place. I feel no matter what you order on the menu it is cooked to an extremely high standard and they are very fast with getting the food out too! The staff were so kind and funny and they were all genuine and added to the authenticity of the place. You definitely get your moneys worth. We also had a small child and they gave him extra cream when he asked. I’m going to go back soon and get the pork belly again and this time try the Tom yum soup! Overall, this place is the perfect balance of authentic traditional Thai food blended with a modern Mancunian atmosphere.

Pon, Noon and Leyla were absolutely brilliant for our Thai cooking masterclass. We had such an amazing time and we started to look for another menu to come and try again!

I have been to Thaikhun several times over the past few years and I would say there's room for improvement re food quality and taste, the chicken skewers were dry and tough.

I recently visited Thaikhun Thai Street Food at the Trafford Centre, and it was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel incredibly welcome. Their warmth, attentiveness, and genuine enthusiasm for ensuring a great dining experience stood out. The restaurant's decor is vibrant and immersive, transporting you straight to the bustling streets of Thailand. The food was nothing short of amazing – authentic, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Each dish was bursting with fresh ingredients and spices that perfectly captured the essence of Thai cuisine. What truly made the visit special, though, was the team. They were friendly, accommodating, and eager to recommend dishes tailored to my preferences. It’s rare to find such a perfect blend of delicious food and exceptional service. If you're at the Trafford Centre and craving Thai food, Thaikhun is a must-visit. Kudos to the wonderful staff for making the experience so memorable!

Bought from here by mistake, it was as disappointing as when I visited the restaurant. It’s an embarrassment to Thai food, it’s a weak soup with a few pieces of courgettes and bad quality chicken. The spring rolls were not fully cooked and tasted like the ones I buy from Tesco. Had to reorder from another place, waste of money.

A really cozy little place that made me long to go back to Thailand. The food was fantastic and so was the atmosphere and service. The dessert was also incredibly good! Definitely worth a visit if you want to eat good Thai food.

The food was very meh and quite expensive. It's a shame I absolutely love Thai food. The Pad Thai was extremely greasy, I've never had a pad Thai so oily before. The tofu had not been marinated so was absolutely tasteless and I had to ask for the peanuts as they hadn't been put on the dish (not sure if they had been forgotten but traditionally Pad Thai is served like this). My partner had a rice dish which lacked flavour. The sweet corn cakes were very very good (although my partner wasn't as keen on them as I was) The food was served quickly and came around 30 seconds after our drinks appeared. I chose a fruit smoothie which was also quite disappointing and it tasted like something I could make at home with a premix frozen fruit cocktail bag. There weren't many non alcoholic options to choose from. We won't be going back and will instead go to our favorite Thai place in the Northern Quarter. As a plus the service was friendly and efficient but I don't agree with the service charge for 2 ppl being added onto the bill.

Fantastic service, drinks, and authentic Thai food - cannot recommend the Haianese chicken enough! Jack and Becky made us feel very welcome and we can't wait to return!

Incredibly delicious authentic Thai food, cooked freshly with love. Been to this restaurant a number of times of the years and it never disappoints! Highly recommend for family gatherings, dinner night with friends or a cheeky date night 😉

We tried the Thai chicken katsu with jasmin rice, it is so good 9/10 , and also tried the thai red chicken curry, and added egg fried rice extra it is also really good not that spicy 8/10 . All over it was an amazing experience, service was good too . Would definitely recommend it. Chicken is halal

We went as a party of 15 and have to comment specifically at how well we were dealt with, the speed of the service for a large party and the food was great. In other places we have had food come out at all different times with some finishing before others have been served etc and at least one meal has been missing. So just wanted to make a point of saying that not only was the food good, the staff were on top of it and everything was great :)

We stumbled over the restaurant whilst looking for somewhere to eat ( so many choices in Manchester) Charming and efficient staff. Delicious cocktails, 2 for £12 mix and match and delicious food. We did the mix and match, curry, noodle, rice and stir fry option and shared the banana fritter and ice cream for dessert.

He told me that it was because Green Tea was out of stock. scare? So I should ask the customer first? Can I make you a drink? However, another waiter saw us taking selfies and took the initiative to help us take pictures, which was very complimentary. After eating the snack bowl (£25 for two people), the chicken satay was completely missing, the meat was separated and the skin was dry. The red curry tastes passable, but the chili powder should be missing. I had mango sticky rice for dessert, which was completely insincere. The mangoes were completely unripe, light yellow, and very sour! Pay the bill: £77

Second visit here and this time it was the youngests birthday 13.. I know how time flies and how it’s aged me, anyway I digress. Great choice and extra dad points in the bank. Lovely as o remember and great efficient and hospitable service. Had the pinto sharing feast, with a sharing platter and plenty to take home.. fish cakes were amazing, chicken satay was off the scale and the masam curry was a delight. Also got a slice of the best chocolate cake with warm creamy topping. It’s a must for anyone in Manchester.

Happy new month!! I can’t believe it’s august already, 2024 is going much faster than anticipated but no complaints!! I hope you are all having an amazing weekend! I had the chance to visit another personal favourite for dinner! Thaikhun is my favourite spot in town for authentic and delicious Thai meals. The food is always better than expectations, service 10/10 as always and the ambience is just perfect for any occasion! This time around the table order consisted of three mains and a starter shared between two of us. Mains: Hainanese Chicken, Prawn Pineapple Fried Rice and Thai Green Curry(with jasmine rice). Starter: Chilli squid. All choices were a hit- 10/10, the Hainanese Chicken was the table favourite- the soy and ginger sauce, beautiful!! Service was great, I always appreciate when asked if I’d prefer the starters and main served together or separately. The wait for the meal wasn’t long but I always recommend to book in advance if you can.. otherwise walk in options are available too. Soo if you are ever craving Thai food? Please take a trip down and treat yourself at Thaikhun!! Till next time, have an amazing weekend and month!!

Great authentic Thai food the service was on point too. Came last weekend for a hen as a group of 19 of us. I would recommend getting the sharing platter with another person as you’ve got starters and then four main dishes to share. All was flavourful and the bride to be was given a dessert.

Came here yesterday (Saturday) for the bottomless brunch. Our booking was at 4pm which is the last slot which meant some drinks on the menu weren’t available, however, the staff were amazing and allowed us to have any cocktail off the main menu! The staff were exceptional and very efficient with plenty of smiles! Food was also very good apart from the rice, a bit bland and felt microwaved. Overall, well worth the money. Plenty of drinks, great service and food. Will certainly be back!

We got the pinto sharing platter as well as a sharing feast to try sample as much as possible for our first visit. I have to say the food was a real mixed bag. Most of the chicken dishes were dry, but the flavours saved them from being bad, had the chicken been cooked better I think they would have been very good overall. The beef Street noodles were probably the best thing we ate overall and I would certainly have those again. The Thai red curry was a bit of a letdown, with everything else bursting with flavour, and the red curry typically being a dish that would offer a taste sensation, this one fell flat and was just OK. Tried a couple of cocktails too, would reccomended the Mai Tai. Service was good overall, they were having card machine problems and phoned me earlier in the day to let me know which was good. Overall the restaurant aesthetic wasn't to my liking, felt quite canteen like and we were put at the table right near the toilets which made it worse. I went here as I was told that this was one of the best Thai restaurants Manchester had to offer, however I've had similar (if not better) Thai meals closer to home (Dok Mali in Swinton for example). I'd maybe eat here again, but was hoping for more than this restaurant delivered.

The restaurant is very dirty, there is garbage on the floor, the tables and menus are sticky, the restaurant has a bad smell and a lot of dust. The food is not good. Small portions for that price.. I wonder if the chef has been to Thailand and knows how real padtai should look and taste? I do not recommend. 1/10

Just been recently to this place with my friend for the first time a few days ago. The whole experience was fab - meal was delicious, drinks were reasonably priced, atmosphere lovely and it was so easy to book the table on their app. Will def be going back - maybe to try the bottomless brunch they do.

Nice place with good service. Food, in general, quite tasty, special mention to the super delicious chicken wings and the Pad Thai, very good. Be careful with the spiciness, we ordered a red curry that was very rich, and it was supposed to have only 2 degrees of spiciness, but it was still quite spicy (I like it and tolerate it well, but be warned hahahaha) The only drawback I would say is that they brought all the food at once and this way there is always something that ends up getting cold...it makes more sense to bring things gradually.

Bonito sitio con buena atención. Comida, en general, bastante sabrosa, especial mención a las alitas de pollo suuuuper ricas y al Pad Thai, buenísimo. Ojo con el picante, pedimos un curry rojo que estaba muy rico, y se supone que tenía solo 2 de picante, pero aún así lo estaba bastante (me gusta y lo tolero bien, pero aviso jajajaja) La única pega que pondría es que trajeron toda la comida a la vez y de esta forma siempre hay algo que se acaba enfriando...tiene más sentido ir trayendo cosas de manera gradual.

The portions were decent but overpriced compared to similar Thai food available in Manchester. Tom Yum soup was just ok, had coconut milk in it which I'm not overly fond of and traditionally shouldn't be in Tom Yum soup, Sweetcorn Fritters were good. Service was good but one of our party was still waiting for their main after some of us had already finished.

Hosted myself with a party of 11 others on the Great Northern Run bank holiday Sunday. Superb food and great service accommodating to such a large party on a busy evening. Big portions and very well priced.

we found a rat running around the restaurant at 10.22pm, it shocked me and then we told the waitress, they said the rat comes from the next door, it doesn’t make sense, the hygiene in the restaurant is very poor.

Tasteless food, worst Thai meal in Manchester

The staff were extremely helpful and considerate, allowing us to move tables away from the toilet to ensure our experience was good. The food was amazing and the selection was fantastic. Cannot recommend highly enough

The place has good atmosphere and staff although the food was lacking in flavour for me. We ordered few items including starter and main and it was delivered to our table within 5 minutes from taking order, making us think it was all pre prepared and waiting to plate. Some starter items were cold.

First time I have been to Thaikhun and it won't be the last. The food platter and Pinto sharing Feast were all absolutely amazing. The service was great, very friendly and they were very concerned with food allergies. Absolutely amazing dining experience

We really enjoyed our time here in September, when I took my son and his girlfriend out for lunch. Lovely atmosphere, superb food and really friendly staff. I'll definitely be back! No wonder it's one of their favourite eateries.

Came here to say with a big group and sampled a good array of the vegan menu - Fantastic! Super friendly staff, great menu options for all and most importantly, the food tasted brilliant! The restaurant was warm and cosy (always a must in winter) and the seats comfy and decor great. Highly recommended for many more visits. Thanks guys!

Decent. The cocktails aren't great, but the food is pretty good and the service is bang on.

The food was cold and rubbery. We had to ask for the drinks to be re made. When we were giving feedback the acting manager tried to blame us for not speaking up when we did. My dish was cold, the chicken was pink and over all we were very disappointed.

No my cup of tea, but to be sat in front of the door with a cold right arm and my left arm warm from air con, , asked for drinks for Toddlers got given half pints which soon got spilt all over the kids, a wall behind me and couldn't move my chair or push table out. No normal Prawn crackers for children, brought adults food before kids which is always a no go for me having kids and working in restaurants for 20+ yrs The sticky rice was a clump, the kids rice was a bowl of grease and the bbq pork smelt like feet and dry. I give praise when needed and this is my honest review, not just being a karen

Booked here for 20 people recently. Thaikhun was one of the only places to allow us a booking of that size, and have been here so many times before with great feedback each time. On arrival, we were stood at the door for quite some time as the tables weren't prepared, and hadn't really thought about where we were going. However as soon as we did get seated, the staff were excellent. Service was really good considering the size of us. Food was so quick and well organised, got everything right. Drinks were quite slow, but there was a lot of us! Everyone was very happy with the food, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The toilet cubicles do not have toilet roll holders, the paper roll is just stacked on the floor or the sanitary bin. Which is gross
