We had the set lunch which was such good value . The staff were welcoming and helpful. The food was very tasty and hot and arrived in a timely way. We enjoyed the choice of menu and shared the starter. We will return thank you 😊

Visited this authentic Thai restaurant/bar in Manchester last week to satisfy our cravings and they certainly did not disappoint. We sampled the following: 》Crispy Coriander Beef | Fried beef marinated in fresh coriander seeds 》King Prawn Spring Rolls | Prawns wrapped in a spring roll served with plum sauce 》Seafood Pad Thai | Thin rice noodles, eggs, peanuts, beancurds, red onions, beansprouts, chives and baby dry shrimps stir fried in a sweet tamarind sauce 》Try Thai Mango Crispy Seabass topped with fresh mango, red onions, spring onions, carrot, bell peppers and celery drizzled with spicy seafood sauce and cashew nuts 》Thai Iced Milk Tea & Singha beer The tender beef and juicy prawn spring rolls were spot on, definitely hit the spot. The classic pad thai had generous seafood on it and the amount of heat was perfect for our liking. The crispy seabass had balanced flavours and was complimented by the fresh mango and veggies, very pleased with it. The Thai iced milk tea is just like the ones that I had in Thailand, got me so hooked. Overall, a quaint spot with friendly staff and an extensive food/drinks menu which won't break the bank. If you're a fan of Thai cuisine just like us then you should check this place out.

No tengo quejas sobre la calidad de la comida, sin embargo, estaba decepcionado con el servicio. Pedí pollo agridulce y mi esposa pidió Pollo Pad Tai. Mi esposa recibió una comida pero obviamente no era Pad Thai probablemente un curry. Se lo señalamos a una camarera y mientras lo hacíamos llegó una camarera con otros dos platos. La mía era correcta pero mi esposa cuando empezó a comer el plato comentó que no había pollo en él. De repente, la camarera masculina apareció de nuevo y literalmente limpió el plato de mi esposa y lo reemplazó con el Pad Thai de pollo correcto, no hizo ningún comentario ni dio una explicación. Ahora entiendo perfectamente que pueden ocurrir errores, pero lo que realmente nos irrita es que no hubo disculpas ni explicaciones de que la manera en que se trató fuera realmente muy grosera y poco profesional. Tomó tres intentos para que mi esposa recibiera su comida correcta y el restaurante no estaba ocupado!

Como amantes de la cultura tailandesa y la comida tailandesa pensamos que una comida de menos de £ 20 de 3 platos para 2 era demasiado bueno para ser verdad. ¡Absolutamente no! Comida 5 estrellas Servicio 5 estrellas Volveremos regularmente Kop khun kap 🙏

Delicious food, clean, good service.

The waiting time is horrible. We ordered chicken satay, chicken Thai red hot curry, rice, longan ice tea and mango sticky rice. However, the satay and the curry were sweet, the curry was ridiculously sweeter than the ice tea. Our table was cleared up with no signs of our dessert, and because we literally didn't feel the need for dessert after the sweet meal, we asked for the bill and left disappointed. I've had Thai food before and hearing about all the positives of this place, my friend and I decided to stop by. It was a serious let down, with the 1 star being for the jasmine rice.

Authentic Thai food by Thai chefs and Thai workers. It doesn't get more Thai than this.

We were seated pretty quickly when we came in, but then once seated I think we were forgotten about. Only one menu given between two people and 20 minutes went by and no one came to take a drinks order. Someone seated after us at a table had been served food before we had even ordered. We eventually ordered and food came quickly, we got the sweetcorn cakes for starters which were amazing so crispy and tasty. My knife and fork were taken on the plate with the starters and the mains came quickly after and I had no cutlery to begin eating. The food was on the table for over 10 minutes before I could get someone's attention to get some utensils to eat! The crispy pork belly basil stir fry was delicious but not as spicy or authentically Thai as I would have hoped. The massaman curry was creamy and rich with coconut but was slightly too sweet with chewy beef. Overall it was average at best with poor service on the night.

This is my third visit to this restaurant and every time I found the food taste amazing! I am a Thai cuisine fan and this is one of the best Thai restaurants I have ever been to. I have been to Thailand and I can tell this restaurant serves authentic Thai food.

I have been here many times now and I will be going many more. The service and food is fantastic. It's better to book, but if there are only a few of you, they always mange to find a table. Highly recommend this place

Great food and service! The atmosphere could be improved slightly as when it wasn't full you could feel it. Plus it was a bit cold. Other than that, would definitely recommend as the food and service really made up for it!

While we were there, i think staff was pretty annoyed by something and they were behaving strangely. No customer service and cooperative at all.

Well, I would like to share my experience, even though I am no longer ordering or eating the food due to the customer service. I used to leave very good reviews for every restaurant I visited before. When I saw Try Thai, I thought it would be a great place for us and couldn't wait to taste their food. Unfortunately, after very cold and short speech welcoming, the waitress serving us seemed to have something on her mind. The way she looked at us made it feel like she didn’t want to serve us. Because of this, we decided not to order any food, we moved to a Japanese restaurant in front of the building. To the owner, I would advise improving the customer service slightly, even though it wasn't a busy time.

Went for my birthday on the 15th. Turned up 30mins early to which they did accommodate us. Been once and the yellow curry was amazing. This time round it felt rushed and wasn't as tasty as I recalled. Also my partner ordered coconut rice which they clearly forgot to bring out or was just late bringing it out. We waited 5/6 mins as all the food was already out but we just cancelled it as the food was already luke warm and didn't want to wait any longer. We took it off the bill and also the service charge and the waitress took the chocolates away that they give you with the receipt 😂

Searched around China Town where to dine and decided on Try Thai...... great choice :-) 😀 had the 3 course at £15.95, Tempura prawns,penang sauce, 3 sauce beef with fried rice, ice cream.....bought coffee extra.

Generous portions of well cooked Thai food. Starter Tom Yum (hot and sour) soup - delicious and spicy. Shared mains of chicken and ginger with rice noodles side, and penang beef curry with side of jasmine rice, washed down with pots of green tea. £60 for 3 of us plus tip. Packed when we arrived at say 7.45pm almost empty by 9.30.

A friendly and relaxing dining experience!

Always a great meal at Try Thai, consistently excellent and we try to visit every time we're up in Manchester. Super hot basil and chilli beef, and thick red curry with chicken our particular favourites!

The taste is great, but the portion is quite small so they would like you to order more. I'm sure no other restaurants serves such a small amount of food. You should double-check the bill to see if she applied the January discount; otherwise, she might not have given it to you.

Last night was my third consecutive poor meal here. Unpleasant tasting noodles, oily Massaman and tempura veg battered in chip-shop batter. Lesson learnt. Wont be returning. There's better out there.

We were disappointed by the food we ordered: tough and tastless meat, both chicken and beef, and oversweet noodle dishes. The service was friendly enough, amd the place was packed. But we won't be back.

Never disappoints, authentic Thai food, great service - the mango salad is phenomenal, super spicy!

This was honestly the worst Thai place I’ve ever eaten at. We ordered satay tofu and vegetable tempura - the tofu was cold, dry and tasteless and there was a minimal amount of satay sauce and the vegetable tempura was deep fried vegetables in a thick batter. I then ordered a vegetable pad Thai the noodles were massively over cooked and tasted like a sweet gloop. Our meal for two starters, two mains and a small coke was over £55 and it was a massive waste of money. I would avoid this place and try find somewhere more authentic as it feels like a tourist trap. I will say the staff were all lovely, welcoming and accommodating.

Food is absolutely delicious and authentic. Id would definately return for the food. Service is basic which is why the 10% increase on the bill at the end is inacceptable. This "service charge" is so tiring. Pay your staff coreectly and show the prices corectly. I expect table service at a restaurant. I shouldnt have to pay extra.

Nice place and good value for money

The worst Thai restaurant in Manchester, their staffs were talkative, have not show their respect to customers, dirty food especially the pineapple fried rices, they used the same pineapple for many meals, they just change the fried rices inside. Please stay away.

I hadn't finished my starter when the waitress wanted to serve the main course. I asked for a delay, but she quickly came back with it literally as I was putting the last bit in my mouth! The food is lovely, the place is lovely but that feeling of being rushed is why I've only given 4 stars for service. The restaurant wasn't full, so it's not as if they needed the table.

This place is a MUST for anyone in Manchester. The service and food can't be faulted. It was a wonderful experience with exceptional service from every team member. We will be back!

Struggling to see why this has over 4 stars on review. It’s a greasy fast food type restaurant. Our starters of tempura and jumbo prawns with pangang were so greasy in every way. Main courses lacked flavour and instead had overload of chilli’s or chilli sauce and more grease/oil. The noodles and beansprout side - bizarre and once again so very oily. Service was mostly one of disinterest. I left 90% of my main course. I love Thai food but this was such a let down. Go elsewhere and enjoy a better ambience, service and cooking with flavours. Try Thai simply was none of those things in our experience.

Disappointing experience. Visited with family on Sat 26th October for my Dad and I's shared birthday meal. The restaurant felt commercialised, not authentic. A big focus on Halloween with the decor overtaking the Thai touches e.g. pretend dead arm and bat hanging over us from the bar. The waiting staff were dressed in costume including face paint which just killed the vibe completely and I also felt was a hygiene issue as I questioned if they may have worn each costume more than once - this was 5 days before Halloween itself! One person also was wearing black gloves which again can't possibly offer good hygiene. We were to the side of the bar and basically forgotten about, so had to ask someone if we could order both drinks and food together. The food left much to be desired. We had the mixed Thai starter, meat was chewy and overcooked. Our main meals were luke warm, my dad was waiting for his main for five minutes after meals had arrived for the rest of the table. I had the cashew nut dish and the sauce was watery and bland. My partner said his pad Thai tasted like ketchup. Three of us ordered rice but staff didn't think to explain rice comes in a big bowl and that we would only need two between three of us. However, they only initially brought two of the rice, then as we were halfway through our meal randomly brought us the third. We were able to get two portions of rice and the service charge knocked off the bill but no proper apology or acknowledgement of anything that had gone wrong - and it still set us back £130. Worst Thai experience I've ever had, I'll stick to Mommy Thai which is a no frills, street food style place I usually go to in Leeds with friendly staff and delicious food!

The staff was not friendly; my mum didn’t know how to use the card machine and accidentally pressed the cancel button, and the staff roll his eyes.

We both ordered pad thai which I’ve eaten many times in many places, including in Thailand. This tasted like tinned spaghetti in tomato sauce with cold belly pork thrown on the top. It was vile. What an absolute waste of money. Try Thai is overpriced, delivers bad service and serves inauthentic Thai food. There are plenty good restaurants in Manchester, this is definitely not one of them.

Group of 5 of us, 3 ended up with diarrhea The quality of the food was pretty poor too, Pad Thai tasted like tomato ketchup. Service was really poor, having to chase down staff to take our order when it was quiet. Dishes brought when others had finished their meals. Honestly, really crap.

Walked in on a Saturday night and had to wait 15 min to get a table. But the food was so worth the short wait. Great Thai food at a very reasonable price. Enjoyable atmosphere and service

We walked in and felt unwelcomed straightaway but that’s not the issue. waited 10mins for someone to come over and start taking our order and absolutely no one came over. Even kept looking back but nothing. So walked straight out. Don’t know if it’s because we asked if the food was halal before we walked in or what the issue was.

Bit of a mixed review here. Staff seemed like they didn't want to be there. Starters and main ordered together as we were seeing a show. Ordered another drink due to long wait, asked where the food was, the waiter said it was coming!! Mains never got sent to the kitchen so we just got presented with the bill, paid and left. Over 1.5hrs dining on a mixed starter and thai crackers. Shame really as we won't be returning, we have had meals out at try thai in the past and it's been excellent.

We ordered 2 Sunflower banquet and 2 Rose banquet for four. Two, or at most three, would have been more than enough for us (and we did enquire about the quantity being appropriate when ordering). Plus the fact that the food consisted of multiple iterations of the same prime matter.

The food is dreadful. Battered aubergine - batter was thick and airy and greasy. I asked for a tofu pad Thai, he said ok, and then I got given a pad Thai with no tofu in. The tofu is nothing like a tofu. It's red, spicy, and there's no nuts. The whole thing was stuck together as one big chewy mess. There were no vegetables in it, no carrot or lettuce like you might expect, just piled full of loads of red onion. Genuinely horrible food that has made me feel sick. I would never come here again and I regret ever trying it. They even had the cheek of adding a £1.50 service charge on the bill so the £15 3 course lunch is actually £16.50!!! When they took half an hour to bring the main out after the starter. Worst place I've ever eaten.

Loads of staff but unorganized. Served people their food but they came in 15 minutes after me and my order. I asked the about my food and the waiter just smiled and ignored me. I asked again and the waiter told me “don’t ask me” super weird vibe in there and it’s not the first time either. Not only that I heard another table complain about something in their dish and sound like they were blaming the customer. Just weird vibes in there.

When two of our group arrived at the restaurant a few minutes before our reservation, they discovered that the wait staff had already given our table away to another party. The confusion continued into receiving our orders, with the staff confidently handing dishes to the wrong people. The food was average at best, with one of the dishes having an unnecessary amount of added sugar. I'd recommend that you try Thai food elsewhere!

used to love this place as the lunch menu was such a good deal, the price has now increased and on top of that a service charge is added so it’s not an affordable lunch anymore. Such a shame as it was one of my go-to places but now it’s a bit too expensive for me for what it is. Despite the increase in price I found the overall quality of the meals and even the service to be disappointing compared to usual

A very nice place, one of the best in Chinatown. They have a menu with a starter, main course and dessert or coffee at a good price £15, well cooked and abundant. ADVISABLE

Great lunch deal plus good vibes

We popped in for lunch, they have a lunchtime offer, 3 courses for just under £15 per person. This was perfect for us. All the food that was served was delicious and well worth the price. The portions were good and we felt the quality was great. The staff were lovely. We will definately return next time we're in Manchester.

It was my first time eating at a Thai restaurant in Manchester, and both the experience and the food were exceptional! We visited yesterday to celebrate my nephew's birthday and politely asked the staff to keep the cake so we could surprise him with a birthday song. When it was time for the cake, they were kind enough to add a candle and play a song throughout the restaurant. My nephew was completely surprised, and he almost cried. This experience left us with wonderful memories, not just for my nephew but for the whole family. Thank you to the very kind staff for the excellent service and amazing food.

The food was great, everything was amazing!

Food terrible do not recommend. Got the hot/cold platter. Only the chicken wings and tempura prawn was nice. Had the green curry and mix seafood chilli and basil, the whole dish had 1 octopus leg, 2 muscle and 2 prawns. The 2 stars were for the service only as the staff were all polite. Will not go back, never take a tik tok recommendation seriously.

I went with my girlies for a birthday do and this place was amazing! The food and the drinks. First time eating Thai and we all loved it.the food is so tasty and authentic! Definitely going back soon.

Nice Thai place Got the starter platter which was mainly good as the prawns were super high however the chicken wings were very dry. The curries are very nice here too, with big portions of rice which is a plus! Overall cost was on the pricier side. Service is good

Service staff do not respect guests

Went here for dinner and the food is really good, definitely recommend anything with pork belly in it.

Firstly what the hell is this service charge. At no point did I see advertised there would be a service charge but when I checked my bill it was there at 10%, very rude. Food was average, the Yellow Curry was ok, quite tasty. The Penang Curry was tasteless. The fried aubergine starter was again tasteless and greasy. Service was very very good. Overall my visit was spoiled by this undisclosed service charge. I will not return.

The upstairs space is beautiful and the staff are welcoming and attentive. We ordered one of the specialty teas that blossoms when it is ready, delightful. The food was tasty with a nice presentation. Only one person in our party of 6 mentioned their dish was a bit spicier than expected and the rest were very content with the portion and flavors.

It was pretty awful I'm afraid. Food came out 3 minutes after ordering, clearly from a giant pot made about 12 hours ago. Think it's the worst Thai I've ever been to. We did try to explain to our waitress, but her reply was that 'people have been ordering it all day and they've been happy'.

The food is very good. The service can be improved a lot. The first time I went, it took them over an hour to serve my friend and I and then another half an hour for us to pay and there was barely anybody in the restaurant (lunch time). The second time it looked like they were angrily bringing plates to us to eat and it almost felt like they were making us a favour by letting us be in their restaurant. To top it off, they took ages to bring the bill and then they wanted to charge us service charge. When we asked it to remove it, they tried to deceive us into thinking that service charge is compulsory to pay (they could tell we weren't brits so maybe they thought they could get away with it). We had to ask them several times and remind them that is not compulsory for them to take it out. Ridiculous.

Best Thai in Manchester! Ordered the chili & sweet basil stir fry for takeout. Staff is friendly and service is fast. I love that some carrots in the dish are cut into flowers. Would love to try more dishes.

A great menu with lots we hadn't tried before. The soft shell crab was amazing. It took a long time to decide what to have with so much choice. The food and drink is reasonably priced and you can buy wine by the glass or bottle. Lovely, friendly service that was unhurried. The decor was great and the restaurant felt quite roomy.
