I came into Tesco today (Friday) after Art class in WOOLTON, 3 ladies for lunch, and this is 2nd week the service has been appalling, I suspect there is a staffing issue going on here, we arrived at 12:20 and where served at approximately 12:50 ridiculous waiting time, we then sat down (the cafe was busy) and we waited, and waited... one meal came out, poached eggs on toast, the toast was burnt and the eggs where hard, I tolerated as had to get off shortly, I ate alone, and another meal came out minus the two eggs ? That was sent back, and brought back two mins later with 2 very under cooked eggs on, my friend persevered, the final meal came out, minus the hash browns that where ordered and paid for, that was corrected quite quickly, by the time we left at 13:35 we had been well over a hour for 3 simple meals, this is very poor service for Tesco in WOOLTON village, attached a pic of what was left of the poached egg meal 😔

Lovely food and fancy atmosphere. We did book in advance had to wait. By the young gentleman managed to sort out. He was very nice to us and offered free dessert.

Fabulous food. Large portions. Good price Very friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Best chutney tray ever - the coconut one is delicious and never seen this anywhere else. Vegetarian meals are good here. As the photos show - dishes are not oily. They don’t all look the same and not dyed red (unlike some restaurants). Definitely worth a visit.

Trendy and nostalgic but not good enough. I think it’s pricey for the quality of the food, I had overcooked few pasta with some leaves, nothing fresh to pair, had to reclaim the salad, very expensive kombucha. Doesn’t worth the effort to go up the stairs. Wouldn’t come back

For a place that requires a booking weeks advance, there was no reason for us to be told there was a 40 minute wait on food, after having our orders taken in. 50 minutes we waited for our food orders. Pleasant food, but there was no way the kitchen were not ready for a busy Saturday lunch time, as the number of bookings would have been available before planning staffing for the day. Very disappointing as I live locally, there was excitement as I never get to go due to how quickly the place books up. Telling customers about the long waiting time AFTER taking in the food order felt very underhand. The management need to accommodate for these high peak times - if this continues, I can see customers like me, who have had a similar experience, not want to return again.

We visited Peter Kavanagh's in Liverpool, near the Cathedral, based on a friend's recommendation. It was around 3pm, from the outside we weren't sure if it was open, but went in and was pleased it was. The pub was quiet, with just a few locals and groups catching up. The Guinness was good and affordable, as was the Shropshire ale. The pub has several nooks, perfect for private conversations, which adds to its charm. The bar staff were friendly enough, and we paid in cash. It feels like a true local spot, complete with a fruit machine and regulars, but it also had some quirky history. The decor is filled with fun objects, especially behind the bar. Overall, good pint, good service - recommended.
