Fabulous food. Large portions. Good price Very friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Best chutney tray ever - the coconut one is delicious and never seen this anywhere else. Vegetarian meals are good here. As the photos show - dishes are not oily. They don’t all look the same and not dyed red (unlike some restaurants). Definitely worth a visit.

As usual, the service was impeccable with friendly and knowledgeable staff who always shine a smile. The food is delicious with a fantastic selection to choose from. Special mention to Marcus, who is the place's Swiss Army Knife.

Food was delicious, packed with flavour, excellent quality. Arrived piping hot and early. Just wished I’d ordered more of it! I had two of the chefs recommended dishes with chicken tikka, pilau rice and plain naan.

Went to celebrate dad’s birthday. Very good service from Marcus. The food was excellent with a great selection, speedy service. We look forward to coming back soon .

The biriayni was mega hot and could not be eaten so unfortunately we were disappointed

We normally order from a well known place on allerton road, however we thought to give it a go - Happy to say we can’t fault the meals tonight- definitely 10/10 ! Thanks guys

Second time visiting tonight. We’ve been here a few weeks prior to tonight and didn’t have a problem. Booking made at 9:45 which the restaurant happily accepted Food was good again tonight. The real negative point was we hadn’t even finished and they started to take the food away including drinks and without asking the put the bill on the table. When this was raised with the staff, excuses were made and very little apology made. Suppose they had their money and didn’t care about any sort of service. We will not be returning.

Lovely meal with excellent service. Marcus who served us was a really nice guy very welcoming and made sure we were looked after he is credit to the restaurant. Thank you.

The food was outstanding but the absolute stand out star of the dining experience was our front of house, Marcus. He typifies everything that is good and wholesome about Liverpool and in these dark days we need to be more like Marcus. The food is outstanding in The Light of Bengal and so too is Marcus. Represent!

I've ordered about 6 /7 times from this place and unfortunately as always after a while standard slip so bad that I've just nearly rushed my son to hospital.....we ordered the saagwala which aging I always get because my ans the baby like it. But to our Surprise this time when it came it was hot as a vindaloo. Unfortunately I will never take the risk again by ordering from this place

food was left at wrong adress because they said my adress was wrong, they didn't look to where I placed the pin on the map because they don't use maps or live tracking. and then said it was my fault.

My favourite Indian restaurant in Liverpool. The food is always so fresh and tastes amazing. The staff are very friendly and accommodating :) naan breads are exceptionally tasty! Curries are authentic and well balanced. Highly recommended

If I had to use 1 word to sum this place up it would have to be Marco. What a guy. Everything here hit spot on. The food was great. Hot, full of flavour and great portion sizes. But Marco makes this place a 6 star rating. Attentive, was spot on with his recommendations and personable without being overbearing. Would definitely come back here.

A regular favourite of ours- with outstanding service and food that tantalises the taste buds -the light of bengal absolutely hits the spot. We were well and truly looked after by the lovely Donna- and can not recommend this wonderful establishment enough.

Usually get a takeaway but decided to try get a table. They Managed to squeeze us in on a Saturday night! Server’s and Donna were great. Food terrific as usual. Atmosphere great.

Marcus is amazing, best waiter in Liverpool AFAIK , lamb madras is great, prawn jalfrezi is very good. Kids welcome and all staff very attentive. Oh and you have to try the tarka Dahl

Starters arrived too soon after the Popadoms were served. Mixed kebab starter, some items not cooked enough- Food in general was warm and could have been hotter. Our waitress Donna was great and couldn’t do enough for us, which made the experience all that much better- Thank you Donna

The food here is absolutely wonderful.

1st meal in 15 years of going and ordering takeaways that our meals were not up to standard. Very watery curry. Lacking of vegetables in the vegetable curry. Strange indeed. Will give it the benefit of the doubt and will give it another try but so upsetting.

Delivery was right on time but although the food was nice, the masala sauce was extremely watery and the chips were very undercooked and soft. Will order elsewhere next time
