Best Indian food in North west. Can't get over the Mix kebab starter and Chicken Naga with garlic nan. Kiss on the beach was the best ever mocktail 🍸🍹 I've ever tatsed. Highly recommend

Not a great meal at all. Absolutely average or rather less than average curries, chips were fresh from the freezer. Far far better from a takeaway. Strawberry daiquiri tasted like it was pre prepared with no effort put into it a all. May as well have had a mocktail. Extremely overpriced, in fact tried to charge me for a drink we hadn't ordered. I would definitely not recommend or re visit

It's always great food at great prices. The staff is always helpful .Can't wait to return.

Just had a wonderful meal here with family. The food was amazing, can highly recommend the passanda or the tandoori mixed meat. The staff were attentive and the desserts were lovely. We will definitely be back 🎉

Just been a few days ago after it came under new management and it was even better than before! Staff were very friendly & helpful and the food arrived promptly. Tried a few of the new mocktails, which were delicious and the food was very flavourful! Can't wait to go back! Definitely recommend! My favourite Indian restaurant ever.

This is our local Indian restaurant & we have never had a bad meal in all the years we have been. Visited Boxing Day with family & had a great meal, always a great choice & it’s never too much for them when you ask for something not on the menu. Highly recommend a visit

disappointed. really really runny curry. was more like a soup. the danask was supposed to have lentils in, which should make it thick but both curries were watery. rice was freezing

Having been here on many occasions Christmas day lunch was the first time and would totally without a doubt be returning but having take aways in between but Christmas day definitely returning.. food was excellent and so was the service even though they were a little pushed they delivered thank you to all staff involved for making our unconventional lunch special 😀

This place has gone downhill since I was last here. What a shame been coming here 20 years. New management I guess. Extremely cold restaurant more of a takeaway feel to it now. Constant stream of uber eats riders trampling through the restaurant. Place looks scruffy needs a coat of paint. Old oil filled radiator did nothing to warm us up. Cold poppadoms didn’t help. Waiter didn’t know what bottled beer they had. None apparently. Food was ok but I won’t be back.

I ordered via Uber Eats and the restaurant missedtge mushroom rice, I rang them and they said there was nothing they could do, how can you have a curry without the rice? Food was stone cold when it arrived, all.in all very poor service and I'd recommend against using them 😥

I ordered a delivery and the food turned up cold and missing items, I rang the restaurant and they were most unhelpful, tried to blame the delivery driver, even though the bag was tied up. I certainly won't be ordering from here again as price was a lot higher than the place I normally use, but fancied a change, bad mistake, ruined our evening I'll carry on using Siddiki on Snithdown Road,, better quality food, very friendly helpful staff and the orders are always 100% correct

Awful! Ordered a takeaway for collection and never again. Got home and discovered we had the wrong order so went back, waited a further 20 minutes to get our order which had our nan breads missing!. The korma was watery and the worst we have had. The onion bhaji was cold and rock hard. £28 wasted! Never again. AVOID!!!!!!!!!

This restaurant has gone rapidly downhill in the past year or so since the old management team departed.. We ordered a table which they said they didnt know anything about despite us getting a confirmation email from them.. The staff were very poor and disorganised, we constantly had to ask for cutlery, food, drinks etc, and in the end we felt as though we were inconveniencing them.. The food was average and the ambience in the restaurant terrible.. The front door near our table was constantly opening and closing with takeaway drivers calling in and standing around to collect food.. We wont be coming back while the restaurant is so poor, the staff need to be trained in how to attend to a table and speak to customers in a satsfactory way..

The last couple of times our experience has been the same regardless of what day or time we have come - the service has been extremely slow and the food disappointing. It used to be so good here I don’t know what’s changed. What I would say is that they need to either employ more staff or have a better system of balancing orders for customers in the restaurant and those who come in to pick up telephone orders and delivery orders. The waiting area had 8-10 people at any given time and everyone’s food took forever. We waited an hour and a half between popadom starter and our main meal arriving. We won’t be returning or ordering a delivery from them.

I was so excited to go (on a work-related trip) to a local desi place. Not only was this the worst South Asian food I have ever had; it was the worst experience I have ever endured from fellow South Asians: i am writing this review bc I am actually traumatized by how bad it was. The food, the service. The food, however, was so bad it was almost comical. Imagine a Shami kebab that is a slab of dried meat with an omelette wafting on top. That would actually be better than what I experienced. Stay away, people.

I ordered with Deliveroo. The order was missing popadoms and chutney tray. I rang the restaurant and they said it was not their fault. I contacted Deliveroo and they said no compensation. So I’m short £10 and no one gives a crap. Great experience, thank you. £59 meal ruined. Never again. Food was average and I’m really hacked off.

Was sent a chicken chi goa curry instead of vegetarian. Was told not their problem it was Just Eat. To get a refund from Just Eat. After second phone call, I was told I could drive to pick up another meal. I dont have access to transport at the moment. Asked them to deliver, he said no. The restaurant packed the meal, the receipt stated VEGETARIAN, but the manager insisted that it was a mistake but continued to blame Just Eat. I am very disappointed and will never use this restaurant again

I’ve been going to this restaurant for years even when it was on Smithdown road. Went last night with family the table was set for 2 people an their was 3 of us. The waiter came over a through an extra knife&fork down on the table a walked away. When we finished are meal I asked could I take the rest home that hadn’t been eaten. The waiter walked passed a through a tray a bag on the table. I called him back to ask why he done that, then I got accused of being racist. I laughed as I am mixed race myself. The manger came over which was a waste of time. I will never return here again. It’s sad really coz we’ve been there for such along time. Bring the old manager back at least he had respect for his customers!

It was nice to speak to the waiter and ensure I was putting together a meal that made sense. The flavours were excellent and the portion sizes on the large size.

Phoned up the light of Bengal the night before new year eve. And they said no booking just turn up. Arrived there about 6.30. Got a seat near the back. OMG. Organised chaos. It was packed. None of the staff new what the other was...

We were at Light of Bengal last night (New Years Eve) for a meal. It was extremely busy but we were allocated a table even though we'd not been able to book beforehand. The atmosphere was really good and despite the staff clearly being run off their feet we were well looked after. We had starters, sides, and a main dish. All were really nice. Portions were a good size too. In fact, we had ordered a garlic and cheese naan but it never arrived. An understandable oversight given how busy it was at the time, but we really couldn't have fitted it in anyway, given how full we were. The cost of that was removed from the bill. All in all it was a lovely night. Good atmosphere, staff and food. Thanks, Light of Bengal.

From the minute we arrived to be told you will have to sit there on a table set for 2 and there was 4 of us to samosa being served freezing inside to the wrong main being served and then told by the same rude...

Be warned, this isn't a proper Indian restaurant. No one will sit you down or give you a menu. When eventually they take your order whilst your sat down, your order will be in the queue with all the Just eat and walk in takeaway orders. So if its busy you'll be waiting a LONG time, I came for a quick meal, just myself, I literally waited 1:10hrs then my starter came before my Poppadoms. Throughout this wait, scores of delivery drivers walked past me collecting food. The food was not authentic and bland. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place.

Should be somewhere to avoided. I ordered a chutney platter and thought I’d order an extra popadom only got the extra one I ordered crushed and burned so I’ve got a lot of pots of stuff with nothing to do with. The mixed kebab starter is 2 onion bajis a kofta and a samosa. stuffed mushrooms don’t know when they were cooked but wasn’t within in the last 2 days I can assure you. All this before I’ve even tasted the curry

Probably the worst curry I’ve ever had, the chicken was bland dry and cold and the sauce was so watery and runny and actually tasted bad. Checked the food hygiene rating and saw it was a 2?! absolutely gross would not reccomend- especially considering it isn’t cheap

The food is among the better end of Indian restaurants in Liverpool (but the bar is very low). However, this recent policy of no sit down bookings (or walk-ins) after 8.45 is frankly ridiculous, and an insult to long standing customers.

The first time we've ordered a few weeks ago, the food was absolutely brilliant. Ordered again today and the chips were raw, curry was most likely re-heated and the coke is almost expired and tastes like it already expired. Very disappointed as it wasn't a cheap meal and to go from the first amazing order to this one is an insane difference.

Very bad experience. The biriyani we ordered didn't had any salt content. Absolutely no taste. Tikka was just coated with food colour and was not hot. Will never order again from here.

NB ref owner’s comments below I can’t remember which dishes I checked last time but checking again with 5 items came out at 38.8% increase. 40% near as damn it.

I’ve been going to this restaurant for over 25 years I’ve just had a delivery from them which was cold and items were missing but more than that the food was absolutely disgusting the prawn King prawn korma was like water spicy the chicken chat was absolutely tasteless and the bread will come to the chicken chat was rockhard as it had been in the microwave I am absolutely disgusted and will never go here again

We came here regularly pre-COVID for over 20 years. Food is great but prices have gone through the roof. Over 40% increase in little over a year and over 54% since March 2020. If you increase prices that much you lose revenue not increase it.

Not impressed to be honest. Peshwari naan was way too bready. Hardly any filling. Onion bahjis weren't very crispy. Only one portion of rice between two curries. Curries themselves were decent, but nothing special. Certainly expect better quality for the price.

Excellent staff and great food.

The food from here is really tasty. They know what they're doing and have a wide variety of different meals. All great quality. My biggest problems, however, are the prices and portion sizes. £11 for a chicken curry, with just 5 or 6 pieces of chicken breast in and worst of all, we paid £14 for the mixed tikka shashlik. When I opened the container what we got was what is in my picture for this review - 4 cubes of lamb and 4 cubes of chicken. The remaining contents were a giant grilled onion and some chopped green pepper, which made up about 70% of that dish. So overall, food's great, but value for money is lacking.

Never once been disappointed with any meal takeaway or in restaurant lovely and nice friendly staff we travel around India a lot and enjoy the food here just as much best Indian in Liverpool without a doubt
