A small and cosy Indian restaurant. Tried Shahi Lamb Biryani and Chicken Korma along with Peshawar bread. The chicken and bread were absolutely wonderful, but the lamb biryani and the served rices were not good. The portions were adequately sized and the service was good.

If you’re looking for authentic Kerala food, this place is a must visit! The flavors are absolutely amazing, and every dish is prepared with care and authenticity. From the first bite, you can tell that the ingredients are fresh and the spices are perfectly balanced. I had the fish curry with appam, and it was simply outstanding. The curry was rich, flavorful, and had just the right amount of tanginess from the tamarind. The fish was tender and soaked up all the delicious spices, making every bite an explosion of flavor. The appam was soft and fluffy in the center with crispy edges, perfect for soaking up the curry. I also tried the ghee rice with beef, and it was just as delicious. The beef was tender, well spiced, and packed with deep, slow cooked flavory. The ghee rice was fragrant and buttery, making it a perfect complement to the beef. The service was excellent: friendly, attentive, and welcoming. It really enhanced the overall experience. This place is totally worth it! The food, the flavors, and the hospitality make it a must visit for anyone craving authentic Kerala cuisine.

Food is good no doubt....but be aware with the pathetic service by very very rude staff, who was too desperate too ask for money while we were having food. He gave the reason that we were blocking the table, but its not at all fair while someone having and asking to pay in the middle. Real shame... How would even someone put a gross hand in to pay while eating food. Have some decency.... Never had such experience before.... Cold tea served when asked just microwaved and served again..... Yukkmk Have some hospitality ethics and respect towards customer. Very disappointing, ruined the time....

I've had the pleasure of dining at ikkayees in Liverpool, and I can confidently say it's the best restaurant in town! The crown jewel of their menu is undoubtedly the Fish Mango Curry – it's an absolute game-changer! Every dish we ordered was exceptional, with flawless presentation and flavors that exploded with each bite. But what truly sets here apart is its exceptional staff. Attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly, they provided top-notch service that made our dining experience even more special.

Authentic kerala style foods are serving here, many recommended dishes are available here. All must visit here when you visiting liverpool. The table service over here is very appreciatable, and the dining presentation was very nice.

Me and my friends went today dined at Ikkayees Indian Restaurant in Liverpool and had an exceptional experience! The food was outstanding - I ordered the Chicken Kottu, Chicken Gravy, and Mixed Grilled Starter, which were all delicious. The main course, Fried Rice, was cooked to perfection. the service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff. Unfortunately, I forgot the name of the who serve us, but she was fantastic Overall, I'm 90% happy with my experience at Ikkayees. The food, service, and atmosphere were all awesome. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great Indian cuisine in Liverpool. 4.5/5 stars

Great in every way Delicious and extremely kind staff

I just want to preface this review by sharing that our experience with the staff was absolutely lovely, despite being late with our order, the delivery man we had was very friendly and it's clear this business cares a great deal about their customers. This review is due to the food. We ordered a chicken korma with rice (part of the specials for £6), veg samosas, nan bread and butter chicken all in mild. When we eventually got the food it was mostly cold but nothing a quick warm up in the microwave couldn't solve. We're both big fans of Indian cuisine and have eaten at various restaurants and takeaways. However, when I dished up the korma, it was dry with no sauce which was unusual. I wanted to give the meal the benefit of the doubt so I tucked in only to be greeted with a gradually worsening burn in my mouth as I realised the korma was incredibly spicy and sadly did not taste anything like a korma. I only managed a few spoonfuls before I had to stop eating and the meal ended up going in the bin. I was incredibly upset as I had ordered a mild curry as I am completely intolerant to spicy food and ended up spending the rest of the evening and this morning terribly sore and unwell from the meal. The veg samosas and butter chicken were the same, extremely over spiced to the point it caused pain. Thankfully my partner likes spice and very much still enjoyed the butter chicken meal he ordered but I sadly went to bed feeling very sick and upset by this experience. This is a small business who deserves to do well. However, I do believe that if a meal is advertised as mild, it should not served full of overwhelming spices to unsuspecting customers (without warning) such as myself who already has a pre-existing stomach condition. If I had known the extent of the spiciness I would not have ordered from here. For that reason I can't recommend this place for the time being. Thank you for reading.

Briyani wasn’t good, and Nan wasn’t properly cooked

Very nice ambiance. Friendly staff. The dining area is neat and clean. Waiting time is tolerable. The food was yummy. We had appam and mango fish curry, and beef varutharachathu. You can book a table if you want. You can also get items not mentioned on the menu; don't be shy to ask. Parking may be a problem, depending on the time.

Food was really delicious with great ambience and friendly staff. There were different options to try on Kerala food. I would definitely recommend and visit for next time for sure.

The porotta was good but the chicken and beef are the worst

Booked a valentine’s day dinner for my parents. Turns out the place had been fully booked by a party, they asked my parents to come back later but they were hungry so decided to leave it. They ran after my parents to tell them the party agreed for my parents to sit at a table near them. They had the best time ever, they LOVED the food and told me everyone was absolutely lovely to them. The family who had booked the whole place ended up leaving a big cake to my parents. From what they’re saying, it’s one of the best meal they’ve ever had and I cannot wait to go myself! Thank you for making my parents valentine’s day dinner so special!

Ikkayees Restaurant is the best spot in Liverpool City for authentic South Indian Kerala-style cuisine. I dined in and enjoyed their porotta, beef pepper roast, and mutton karahi—each dish was outstanding. I also tried their kingfish mango curry via home delivery, and it was absolutely delicious and worth every penny. Highly recommended!

I had high expectations for Ikkayees, but unfortunately, my experience was underwhelming. The service was noticeably slow, with long waits even for basic dishes. When the food finally arrived, the portions were disappointingly small, leaving us feeling unsatisfied. For the price, the quantity and overall experience did not feel worth it. While the flavors were decent, the lack of value for money and delays in service make it hard to recommend.

Have ordered Paal kappa with beef roast, Quantity is less compared to the price.

It’s a very nice Kerala restaurant in Liverpool. I really loved it. I ordered porrota and beef curry it was good better than other Kerala restaurants. I would recommend if you really crave for beef n porrota u can give it a try..they also have a variety of dishes to try on.. yummy 😋

Decided to go here on a whim…really enjoyed the food. Was authentic south Indian food which is really hard to get in Liverpool. The main guy was really kind and helpful which made the whole dining experience here even better.

I purely went to this place because of reviews but i am soo disappointed. The customer service is appalling from 4.8 rated place. I don’t want to blame the waiter because she was alone the whole time. The food is the talking point. Every curry tastes the same. Everything was very average food.

Came with a lot of expectations. Disappointed with the food. Everything was sweet. Told to make the food spicy but they made it sweet and mild. The portion were generous which doesn’t matter when the quality is not that great. I won’t mind paying for less portions with higher quality. I don’t think I’ll be back again.

Went in hungry, came out… still kinda hungry. Ordered Ghee Rice with Beef Pepper, Chatti Biriyani, and Kothu Porotta. Taste-wise, it was like a solid 7/10—a bit like a movie that’s good but you wouldn’t rewatch. Overall, it felt like a warm-up act for the real meal I had to plan after. Decent taste, but unless you’re a fan of portion-controlled heartbreak, you might want to try somewhere else for that price. 🍛😂

Authentic South Asian food I found in Liverpool. Delicious and really good portions! Friendly and helpful staff.

Today I arrived at this restaurant 2:09pm and left the restaurant at 15:17pm, I waited for more than 45 minutes for food to be served. Waited starving, and finally when curry arrived, it was salty and lukewarm. Why seving a lukewarm curry it taken 45 minutes no idea. Waiter is doing service with a smile but that did not help to ease the disappointments happend in other aspects.

Authentic Kerala food. Reminded us of back home, Appam with mango fish curry was my personal favourite and highly recommend to try this combo. They have maintained spice level authentically. We also tried chicken dum biryani - rice well cooked and good flavours. Paal kappa and beef was a good combo option and bursting with flavours. The only drawback was only one staff member was present to take orders and serve as well, so there were lots of delays in getting each dish, would recommend maybe keep two staff and being a weekend restaurant was busy.
