An absolutely beautiful little cafe not so hidden away. Great food, wonderful staff and a lovely environment to go and unwind.

On this occasion went for the famous roast went for half nut roast and half seitan did not disappoint also got coffee/chocolate cake and lemon and pistachio cake to take out

Very run down, up lots of stairs, so not accessible. Food wasn't great but the coffee was nice.

Really nice visit to this after a meander down Bold Street. The food was great - I ended up having their soup, and the latte was great too. Chilled vibes, and such a wide selection of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options. Reasonably priced too, with local artists’ artwork on display for sale too. Only downside is it’s two floors up via a staircase, so if you have limited mobility or are wheelchair bound, I’m not sure how you’d get there (unless there’s a lift I missed!) Really recommend giving them a visit - roughly a 10 minute walk from the Lime Street station.

Slow service and bad attitude. Brought wrong order said it was the wrong ordered yet still insisted that it is what I ordered Ruined my day so I wouldn't be able to enjoy any of the food.

Food is absolutely delicious, staff are very friendly and is well priced. Been coming here for a few years now and it never dissapoints.

I’ve been a customer at the egg for several years now and I am sad to say that it seems to be going a little downhill. I used to enjoy coming for the cheap soup and toast deal and would choose egg over other cafes for the atmosphere, the affordable prices, and to support a vegetarian cafe. However, the prices are now more than is justifiable for the quality of the food, coffee and cakes. I would love to see a little improvement in regards to the prices and/or quality of the food (I’m happy to pay higher prices if the food reflects this!), coffee (there are plenty of cafes offering better coffee), and general cleanliness, as I love to see independent veggie/vegan cafes thriving and would like to see this happen for the egg again!

A friendly cafe close to the heart of Liverpool. Up a few flight of stairs in the loft of an old building. Full of the character and charm that is lacking in so many chain coffee shops. We had two slices of delicious, vegan cake and a couple of coffees. A very chilled and relaxed vibe. Highly recommended

A Liverpool institution, a vegetarian café/ restaurant before vegetarian became common, a bohemian hipster type place with ramshackle furniture and decor and beautiful trendy staff, before that became the norm in cool restaurants and some coffee shops. Not cheap but not expensive either, good quality tasty food. Also has alcoholic drinks and you can bring your own wine for I think a £3 charge but check.

V nice place to go, really enjoyed just eating an entire plate of garlic bread as a meal.

Service was a bit confused, one lady walked away mid order and a different one then popped up. Our food orders were very good though, this remains the best vegetarian/vegan place in the city centre especially for charm.

This is our go to place in Liverpool for lovely reasonably priced veggie food with and without the kids. We love the quirky layout and views too.

High, highly recommended. Healthy & tasty. Recommended from a friend, this was the BEST breakfast for under £12 since moving to Liverpool in August. The eggs had a delicious seasoning on top, requiring no pepper. The beans had some seasoning in the as well adding a delicious zing into the meal. I swapped tomato (gross) for extra mushrooms and was not disappointed by the amount of extra mushrooms! Free filter coffee or juice with the full breakfast was a huge bonus and rounded this out to the five stars it deserves. Music wasn’t loud and the patrons were all able to enjoy conversation without raised voices, or “keeping quiet.” Exactly the hearty start to my weekend I was looking for! I will 100% bring family visiting here for breakfasts in the future!

We were looking for a place with a decent vegetarian menu in Liverpool, and we were so pleased we came here. It was a Sunday, so we had the vegan roast, which was superb. The atmosphere is excellent and the cost is very reasonable. Staff were really friendly. The toilets were good. There is no disabled access, as it is on the second floor in an old building, so there was a little step climbing to do

Food was really good and lemon water , cucumber water and table water are free of charge

Amazing food vibe and staff is friendly

The workers were extremely pleasant and everything was perfect. One may argue that it is expensive but it will only be before seeing the portions, great quantities.

Trendy and nostalgic but not good enough. I think it’s pricey for the quality of the food, I had overcooked few pasta with some leaves, nothing fresh to pair, had to reclaim the salad, very expensive kombucha. Doesn’t worth the effort to go up the stairs. Wouldn’t come back

I enjoyed a wonderful vegan burrito meal. It was delicious. This place is rare in the city, quite a boho, friendly environment. Lovely staff ,great menu options, and reasonably priced healthy food. The only issue is that it is inaccessible for those with mobility impairments as its up two or three flights of stairs .

Wonderful restaurant, large selection of vegan dishes, very nicely decorated, the food was very tasty and the employees were very friendly. We would definitely come again.

2nd visit and that chilli is the best I've ever had. Had it with nachos and cheeze. So filling. A real comfort food. 💚 I had a delicious vegan chili topped with cheeze, with half rice and half cheezy nachos. Lovely airy, relaxing environment with long tables. Just off Bold Street in a grade II listed Victorian warehouse building. The menu might look basic but the food looks better than you think it will. Will be going back. 💚

Love this shabby building, but it could do with a bit of restoration. Access is only by stairs, not for anyone with mobility problems

Odd find, but worth a visit. It overlooks Central Station as a bonus for the elderly.

Such a lovely place to eat, the atmosphere is lovely, the staff are great and really attentive. The food is always delicious, been here a few times recently as it was my mums favourite cafe when she was young, she says it hasn't changed a bit and is still as great as it was back then ❤️

Not going to max star a mediocre menu but give the benefit for the staff that went above and beyond to comply with dietary preferences and allergens.

We wanted to like this place but the service was outrageously slow, like 45 minutes for an omelette that you order at a very slow till. The ingredients were also very sad, raw iceberg lettuce as “salad” and not particularly generous portions for the price. The tahini cookie was good tbf. Wouldn’t return.

My large veggie breakfast had different sausages from my friend, hers were OK, mine were not. Very long wait for food, (40 minutes). Fantastic atmosphere.

Amazing service, environment, great place, but don't recommend having lunch or dinner here, even though the portions were big, the food is expensive for the taste. Would highly recommend this place for a coffee and biscuit. Wifi doesn't work.

Liverpool is always a great place to visit. I thought I would try The Egg after reading an article on a newspaper website. I ordered a vegan cooked breakfast and was not disappointed. It was probably the best vegan breakfast I have ever eaten. The scrambled tofu was absolutely delicious. It was just a fantastic breakfast. I liked the decor and enjoyed the music that was playing. I would highly recommend eating here and I look forward to visiting again.

Environmentally friendly establishment with nourishing food.

Context: vegan of 5 years Have no idea why people rave about this place. Nicely decorated but the vegan roast was the blandest roast dinner I've had in my life! Big stodgy and no flavour in anything. The Nut roast tasted and texture like mashed potato. They also messed up my order, and my roast arrived 10-15 mins after my friends despite ordering at same time. I went to do a bit of work, and internet was inconsistent as well. Honestly, there are tons of far better vegan places in Liverpool, I wouldn't bother.

After Deliveroo goofed an order from The Egg, the staff very, very kindly gave me a replacement order on the house! Absolutely lovely food, wonderful decor and such a cool vibe too - would recommend to anyone, either veggie, vegan or omnivore!

One of my favourite places for breakfast. Cosy, friendly, and inexpensive. It's simple, proper, home made vegetarian and vegan food with no pretentions otherwise, and just such a lovely and welcoming place to be. I've been eating here for over 20 years and never been disappointed. It always feels like home. I love the Egg and it's been a part of my late teens and early adulthood into comfortable middle age.

Brilliant vegetarian/ vegan cafe. They do dairy so milk and cheese but vegan options too. Bean burger and 3 types of salad 10.50 healthy, tasty, chef knows how to cook. Great atmosphere.

A Liverpool institution. First visit in a while and still serving hearty veggie fare in a quirky arty space. Now licenced also. Recommended.

One of the best little Sunday brunch locations I've been to in months. Unpretentious but absolutely delicious vegan food, pancakes were outstanding, vegan cooked breakfast was amazing. Friendly service, great atmosphere, rustic but still comfortable. Would absolutely come back here again:)

Visiting from Glasgow a really great find. They cater for people with allergies and gluten issues they will modify ingredients for you and they have a large and varied menu feeindly staff and the place has a really nice feel to it. Will be going back while we are here. After another visit I really cannot recommend this cafe enough. They bent over backwards to accommodate my allergies. The staff were very friendly and happy and the portion sizes are excellent. Thank you very much for excellent service.

Fantastic fresh, healthy & homecooked food. Cheesy garlic bread was so good I ordered it twice.

First time visit from this fussy Irish Vegan and so HAPPY I did. Ordered the full English Vegan fry up and it was plentiful and delicious and comes with a choice of tea, coffee or juice, I grabbed the coffee. The staff are so friendly and when I asked was the butter Vegan the chef came out and said yes and reassuringly told me that all vegan meals are 100% vegan, and such a good vibe in this cafe DEFINITELY check it out if in Liverpool.

A pure quirky and bohemian cafe, full of unique character. The scran was spot-on, and I ordered a wee toastie that left me gobsmacked—this place is sweeter than a honeyed dram compared to other cafes. Deffo gonna carve out time to visit here again.

Great breakfast with herby baked beans. NIce to be able to hear your friends on busy Sunday morning instead of shouting down the table. Started to fill up as soon as it opened but plenty of room and bright and airy. Rustic feel, which made enjoying a hearty breakfast on a beautiful Autum morning all the more welcomed!

This is a cool cafe where you can get vegetarian and vegan food. It has lovely decor with hanging plant vines and a friendly relaxed vibe. The food was tasty too. I'll be back.

Don't be thrown by the discreet door, head to the top of the staircase and through another door to find an incredibly quaint cafe. The atmosphere is lovely and the food selection is executed beautifully. Highly recommend this hidden gem

Been here a while back and I think my review was deleted for some reason so I'm posting it again, their menu is very hard to understand, I ordered something that I thought was vegetarian but what arrived was obviously not. the staff were extrememly unfriendly and were not interested at all in talking to me or resolving the issuse.
