Peter Kavanagh's in Liverpool

Avoid this one if you are a tourist, the local clientele aren't so nice and try to intimidate you. It's a shame the interior and staff are great.

A lovely old style, slightly eccentric pub. It has whatever you want, quiet times and times when it is rammed, normally when there is a singer on. Lovely community pub, with dark rooms so you can huddle up plus space at the bar if your waiting for a friend. Outside seating area too. If you are looking for somewhere more community oriented than the hedonistic affray that are town centre pubs...then head here.

If it's not the best pub in Liverpool then it's right up there

Liverpool institution! Not visited for a number of years, glad to see it still pretty much the same.. Friendly patrons and decent selection of beer (I had a pint of ' Blueberry Hill', full of flavour!). Decor is still crazy, one of the best decorated bars I have ever seen. There was plenty of space to sit and a fair few tourists seemed to be in, which I wasn't expecting. All trying the Guinness, which I am told is one of the best in Liverpool. People certiantly seemed to be enjoying it. Great place to visit and just chill out.

Came here as it was mentioned in the Good Beer Guide, but left very disappointed. All the ales were off and the only cider on tap was Strongbow. We heard it was a pub with great character, but after seeing people vaping inside, it wasn't worth looking at.

Contender for the best pub in Liverpool. Always a good selection of well kept real ales. Decor is outstanding, worth a visit just to look at. Proper.

Rude staff and had to get into a argument to get water which is a legal requirement btw... disappointed after spending £100+ on NYE in that place

Great little pub, atmospheric, traditional, full of paraphernalia, bar area plus numerous rooms and spaces off if you want a seat and a chat, very good choice of cask ale, reasonable prices. Just a little bit out from the busyness of the city centre. Long may it remain natural and not over developed.

I love this pub, and enjoy going here when I come home to Liverpool. They have some great acts. Just a shame it shuts so early and it would great if they could stay open for drinks till 2 am.

Probably one of the most authentic pub I have ever been to. Lots of interesting brick a brack and artworks and woodwork. Live music once in a while and quiz night. Lots of locals.

To sum it up because no one wants a long review, ......The drinks were reasonably priced, the venue itself is probably one of the best boozers in Liverpool and the staff were friendly and helpful. A great little hidden gem. I can't wait to return.

A visit to Liverpool is not complete without a visit to Peter kavanaghs. There's just something wonderful weird about the place that you rarely find elsewhere.

Have been going to Kavanagh's for 43yrs it's a fantastic pub. Always friendly staff .I used to go for breakfast when my daughter was little so that 30yrs ago 😆

Incredible local pub with a rich history

Great pub with phenomenal staff. They know their stuff and it's a brilliant place for local musicians. They get tons of local bands who to be the next merseybeat band. Absolutely lovely time.

What a boss little boozer, 1st time actually goin in and il deffo be back. Great pint, nice, crisp and just what you need after a gruelling 10hr shift.

First time visiting on Saturday. Had a great couple of hours drinking and speaking to the locals, aswell as collecting empty crisp & snack packets for a challenge 🤣 Staff really friendly, reasonably priced drinks, great atmosphere. Enjoyed looking at the history of the pub. We will be back.

Great pint, friendly staff and awesome trinkets to see inside. It's like an aladdins cave of treasures. This pub is also the first pub on the world renound Pirate Map Pub Crawl. Perfect for a pint in the sun! I did ask why the pints have always been so good, and I finally found out why...They clean the pipes more frequently than most! Because its based in the Georgian quarter you also get to see some beautiful buildings!

Fabulous Georgian Quarter pub. Dark and cozy and with an eclectic collection of memorabilia and collectibles all over walls and ceiling. Nice local neighbourhood vibe. Good beer.

Absolutely amazing pub. So much history here. Bar staff so friendly even shared some historic knowledge about the tables in there.

Fantastic pub, 125 years old with many original features. Friendly bar staff & friendly atmosphere inside. Car parking is very limited but it is a short walk from city centre. Don't forget to look up when in there at the stained glass windows either side of the bar & all the bric-a-brac hanflging from the ceiling. Will definitely visit again.

Possibly the most eclectic pub I've been to. Went on recommendation and wasn't disappointed. Bar man was Possibly the friendliness chap I've encountered behind a bar and was on hand to give a quick history lesson too. We'll worth the time to visit

Probably one of the best pubs I've ever visited. We only stayed for one drink as it was the first stop on a long crawl but I'm looking forward to returning in the not too distant future. There's so much to see in this pub and the service was welcoming and friendly. Superb pint of Guinness as well.

Stumbled across this place by chance and we're really glad we did! Friendly barman, chatty and welcoming customers sitting outside, real ale, and a fascinating interior. Full of character and interest, lovely atmosphere, we will definitely be back on our next visit to Liverpool.

What a fantastic pub in the Georgian Area of Liverpool. The pub is immaculate and steeped in history. Staff are proud to work there and demonstrated this by knowing the history of the pub and the artifacts within. The bar is well stocked with a choice of real ales as you would expect from a cask marque pub. This is one of the nicest, friendliest pubs I've come across for some time. Well and truly worth a visit, you'll be pleasantly surprised. Oh and the prices aren't expensive either.

Came here after liverpool pumped Bournemouth 9-0. Expecting to find an old man boozer I was pleasantly surprised to find a quirky little pub with incredible live music and people of all ages and walks of life. Would visit again. I'f only i could go into details....
