Lovely bar - great craft beer with a large selection

Carrying a fab selection of some of the top brewers in the UK, the relaxed table service was a lovely bonus. Don’t leave without a near litre can of your favourite for the journey home (in my case to Chelmsford)

Barman is a delight, unreal selection of beers. Music is top notch and the decor is on point.

We visited this bar a few weeks ago when there was an American brewery tap takeover. We were very impressed with the range of beers and styles. This is definitely a bar to go to if you are a Craft Beer Buff. It was a Saturday early evening and the place was extremely busy. However, we were served promptly, courteously by knowledgeable staff. The beers were great, we had a few 1/3s between us of what was on the menu. The prices were not extortionate and considering they were imported beers, not overpriced. Up until recently, we ran a microbrewery and bar so appreciated the wide range, styles of beers of the tap takeover. There were three members of staff all working hard to give every customer attention. We were served by Libby and she was great, she explained about the beers and wrote on the glass stem the number so we knew which beer was which. She was cheery, hardworking and had a constant smile on her face. From our table we could see her greeting each customer who walked through the door. This bar was a little gem! Its decor was really homely and cosy. We loved it and will be back the next time we are in Liverpool. Keep it up guys!

This IS the place for craft beer lovers! If you’re looking for an imperial stout, or something else that is a bit out of the ordinary beer offering, this is the place! The staff are very kind and helpful. Highly recommended!!

All I can say its one of the least friendly bars I've ever been in and when a taster was requested the answer was no. Bearded bloke attitude appalling. Walked out without ordering. Other people might be fooled but my advice is to avoid. Follow up... the beer I asked for had not run out, I could have had a pint but was told there wasn't enough left for giving tasters. Never heard that before. It was my second visit, almost reluctantly, as the first time I wanted to check out the beer list as i was passing and got no 'friendly welcoming' anything. But I thought I'd try again, give you benefit of the doubt. Suffice to say same barman in situ both times. Second visit then even worse so I won't be back!!

A very nice place to have a beer. They have a great variety and the staff is super friendly. In addition, they have it very beautifully decorated for Christmas.

Visited early evening on a very wet Friday after visiting the very disappointing Christmas market and they saved our evening!! Delicious beers on tap and in 1/3s so you can sample plenty of the many options they have! Really nice people serving and helped us out with restaurant recommendations once we'd had several beers! We'll be back next time we're in town!

Terrible Experience – Worst Beer and Service Ever I rarely write reviews, but this experience was so bad that I feel compelled to warn others. We waited over 20 minutes to be served, which was frustrating enough, but things only got worse from there. All the beers we tried were horrendous – they tasted stale, smelled like vomit, and were served warm. It was clear that the beer had turned. We decided to try the two taster trays, but after just a sip of each, we knew we couldn’t drink any more. To top it off, the waitress couldn’t even recognize the beers to charge us correctly. We were told the trays would be about £15 each, but when the bill came, it was a shocking £43. To top it off the waitress was unprofessional. After we explained we just wanted to pay and leave, She started crying and left us all while we were trying to sort the Card machine. We were left completely stranded and had to go upstairs to pay at the bar. Honestly, the whole thing was a disaster. The beer was awful, the service was completely unprofessional, and the pricing was completely off. I won’t be returning and highly recommend avoiding this place.

If you like hoppy ale then this place has over 20, maybe even more on draft ans they are mind blowingly good. We wanted to go the markets but decided to stay here most of the night 😀.

What an amazing place! We called in mid wedding for a swift pint (2/3) in all our wedding finery accompanied by our daughter , son in law and our year old grandson and we were greeted like old friends . Nothing was too much trouble , the selection of beers was incredible and so was the landlord’s knowledge and obvious love for his craft . Although not busy when we visited the atmosphere was so open and inviting from the other customers who I felt were somewhat amused at our little groups appearance ! Definitely recommended

I always make sure to come here whenever I'm in Liverpool especially if I'm bringing friends as I did today. My first outing since being hospitalised and a very special occasion for me. It felt good to be back and this bar never disappoints with superb service and a large range of beers all in tip top condition . Thank you so much .

If you’re looking for beers you won’t find anywhere else then this is the best place in town. Andy provided excellent insight and Bonnie was awesome! I’ve been here multiple times and it’s always been brilliant!

Absolutely superb bar run by a couple where you’d be hard pushed to find nicer people. Superb selection of drinks. I think the greatest compliment you can give to a place like this is ‘they know what they’re doing’ and they REALLY know what they’re doing. If you’ve in Liverpool and you like good beer, you need to do this place.

WOW what a place for a craft ale fan!!! An amazing selection of beers thoroughly sourced and QCd by the owner Kirsty who certainly knows her stuff! Living the dream going to the states to get the best beers! Bonnie a new member of staff was incredible as well, so knowledgeable. In summary if you want to try some of the best beers in England and be told about them this is the place to go!!! Already told all of my mates about it :-)

Visited this little gem yesterday with my brother in law. Brilliant selection of beers including some US imports which is amazing to see. Gareth and Vicky were both so friendly and helpful not just with us but anyone who came in. They were given menus and shown a table either inside or outside at the customer's choice instantly. Had a great chat about beer and brewing in general. Can't wait to come back 👌👌

By far and away the best bar in Liverpool. The beer selection is exceptional and each beer is well described. The selection also changes on a regular basis. The staff are also knowledgeable and friendly.

Loved it in this place, you can sit in here for hours and gradually sip your way through a world of beers. Sit on the most uncomfortable chair and not even notice. Yeah to the beer....

Nice independent Pub serving decent Beer just at the beginning of Dale St. It has a great selection of different craft beers 👍 I'd avoid the 'Mango' beer 🤢 (unless you're weird 🤣). I didn't try the food, so can't comment on it. Service is quick and friendly, price is reasonable for the quality of Beer 👍

Best craft beer bar in the UK, period!

Been here twice now, really nice vibe and great selection of beers. Nice that you can order smaller amounts like a third or two thirds if you want to try a few things. They will also help with recommendations and tasters if you’re not sure. Also possibly the best table service ever?! Very efficient. They don’t do food but perhaps could explain that you can order in on the menus / have a deal with local takeaway or something. Gender neutral toilets which I appreciate as a non-binary person 😊

Great place, fabulous beers, ciders and smoothies, yes ABV smoothies (just blew my mind). Must drop by and taste the varieties.

Such a great craft beer bar with an amazing and really diverse selection of beers. The staff were so nice and helped us with the beer selection, including giving us a taster. They were also so attentive in the best way and always made sure we had our beer (and water) topped up. Can’t wait to go back!

Best craft bar in Liverpool. 20 lines and every one a banger. Enthusiastic owner. Well worth the short walk away from the centre. Watch out for the step / sloping floor after a couple of schooners of 6.5%. I nearly broke my ankle.

The go to place in Liverpool for craft beer. Friendly, efficient, knowledgeable service with a great choice of different styles of beer. Dog friendly also. Whenever anyone visits us I always take them here. There’s no reason not to visit.

Been in a handful of times now and every time i’ve felt so welcome. As someone who isn’t really a fan of beer, the staff did an amazing job at finding me beers that I enjoyed. Each time i’ve been in the staff have made me feel comfortable being in alone and have made me feel like i can converse with them, the man behind the bar, didn’t catch his name but he always seems to have a hat on, always goes out of his way to have a joke around and a conversation which has helped make me feel like i was a part of a community and it’s made me want to come back and put my trust in the bar staff to find me a beer i will enjoy. Overall a great bar and the atmosphere as well as the service is amazing and it’s very quickly becoming one of my favourite places to drink.
