Pizza was pretty ok. Wait times weren't great and the cheese is more of the cheap pizza cheese. It wasn't a bad pizza but your better of going to aquila next door for a wood fired pizza at the same price... but for other items like burgers I'm sure this is a decent spot.
Awful experience at The Ship. Under new management and a new menu, we thought we’d give it a try and wish we hadn’t bothered.
Large group of men at the bar were incredibly loud, argumentative and using foul language. Not something I want around my children. A woman was openly vaping at the bar and not challenged by staff. It appeared that these are regular drinkers at this pub which would explain the lack of families eating out here. A worker poured one man a drink of something and said, ‘here, try this…’ and did not charge him???
Food was below standard and expensive for what you got. My husband ordered chicken and chorizo and literally got 3 pieces of chorizo on a tiny chicken breast and a teaspoon of sauce.
I’d specified my son has a dairy allergy at the booking but this was not even mentioned by the staff. We left as soon as we’d eaten.
A real shame because we have eaten here previously before it was taken over and it was lovely. The vibe of this place is totally wrong for the ‘family pub’ it claims to be.
I’ve ordered from here a few times, only came late once and was still very fresh and hot. My favourite is the beef in black bean with chili, but the salt and pepper boxes are also great! If I could give more than 5 stars I definitely would.
I came here with my family as I have been here previously with my wife. I brought my son and his girlfriend on the way home from Morecombe.
We were advised when ordering food of the 45 minutes wait, which we were OK with, due to a nice sunny day outside.
It became apparent the pub is to bog for the owner, 2 staff did not turn in, but instead of closing the kitchen they kept it open and it showed they we're out of their depth.
You g girls bringing 1 plate at a time out to the garden, bit not knowing which table it was going too.
People getting food way after we ordered. After 1hr 20 of waiting we went in for a refund, to be told your food is ready now. We declined and got a refund.
A lovely pub in a great are, but poorly run, sort it out before you lose a lot more custom. It has lots of potential ranprpperly. We won't be returning anytime soon.
Richard was a tremendous help in organising a traditional Cream Tea for our coach load of French visitors from Brittany - 41 in total!
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed this traditional British experience and the scones were divine!
Thank you so much.
El horario de apertura es;
Domingo y lunes, cerrado.
Muchas gracias a Alice, Claire y Kieran.
Not been in for years. What a shock, unkempt and in a poor state of decor, such a shame . 1 person working the bar, it felt like they had walked in off the street to pull pints. There are no words of encouragement to make this a positive review. Such a shame for what was a thriving pub.

so I went at about half 6 on a Monday night and we had to wait about 5 minutes by the door because no staff were coming over. first thing that went wrong as the guy working there said they didn’t have wraps and that’s all I get from nandos so that ruined it already. I tried ordering my food on the app and said it didn’t go through even though 12.09 came out my account! NOT HAPPY then I went to the same guy and said this ain’t acceptable and he didn’t do anything about it, like why don’t he give me free food? I finally managed to order it 24.18 later. and it took half an hour to be ready even though all I got was some chips??? now after eating them I feel sick, I think they’ve given me food poisoning. also the staff were abit odd and there was some strange customers in there, like don’t let them in. this was the worst nandos experience ever
Costa Coffee make the worst drinks on the planet *and* charge you for it. I've had a cappuccino and a mocha from them - both undrinkable. The coffee tasted like burnt dirt (probably worse than that though) and the chocolate syrup in the mocha (why not just using drinking chocolate powder?) was undescribly nasty. Please could we get Atkinsons coffee (or whatever it was before) back? Or just get anything else? And please replace the other Costa on campus as it's the only place open on Sundays during the University holidays at times if coffee republique isn't open.
At the very least you should be paying people to drink that nasty stuff, not charging them!
The food is okay. Miss the variety of options. Now I think the only option is vegan cheese and baked beans on a baked potato for me. Better than some places though so can't complain too much. It'd be nice if lunch was served until a bit later, I think you stop serving it at 1pm.
Absolutely Lovely food, well impressed!. We will most definitely be going here again. Plenty of food at very affordable prices. Lovely staff.
Thank you to all that work there.
Exceptional food, great service - worked like clockwork. The chefs on our Great Britain XVII tour delivered top class meals. Ranging from the super grill breakfasts to well thought out and superbly presented lunch/dinners. Four courses using local produce, with imaginative starters, mains, pudding and cheese.
Our dining servers were polite, extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Tables were always smart, cloths and napkins always refreshed. They must have covered many miles back and forth serving our meals and keeping us watered. Well done everyone and thank you.
