My wife and I ate here on a busy Saturday night and the following Sunday. Staff were very friendly and service was very good, we did not have long to wait for the freshly prepared food, from a menu that catered for most tastes. The surroundings were clean, pleasant and relaxing in this traditional Inn. All dishes were well presented and tasted lovely. Brook house Inn ticked all our boxes, we won't hesitate to eat here again when in the area.

Stopped off for lunch , I had a fish finger butty my husband had quiche. The young man that served us was exceptionally polite , however the food was of poor quality, the fish fingers were grey fish , I expected?? Homemade. They were tasteless , I asked for tartare sauce but they didn’t have any , my husband said the quiche was just about ok lots of salad leaves pilled high a quarter of tomato , plain and basic This place is set in a beautiful place we have been many times but unfortunately this time it wasn’t so good

Fantastic cafe and ice cream parlour. There wasn't a veggie breakfast on the menu but they made a couple for us and they were delicious 😋. The cappuccino was spot on! Cakes and ice creams looked amazing 😍. We managed to resist them but we'll be back for some another day. The staff were all friendly, helpful and efficient.

Hidden Gem. Not much in seascale but this is a lovely little cafe. Friendly staff. Lovely homemade food. Definitely worth a visit if you here.

A massive THANKYOU to Paul and Angela for their fantastic hospitality, perfect communication and for having us, it felt like home from home. We originally were meant to stay the week before but after us getting caught in the snow on route, Paul and Angela kindly offered for us to go the following week with no additional charge. They went above and beyond in looking after us, and we were left to do our own thing too. Beautiful lodge, Whitehaven near by for bars and restaurants, cute little seaside town. 25 mins from scafell so the perfect place to stay if you’re walking!!! We will definitely be back can not thank you guys enough!!!! Highly recommended, merry Christmas and see you next year. Lesley and Amy xxx

¿Volvería a comer aquí? 100% si.

Breakfast was good but dinner service fell well below what anyone would expect😩 booked our table for 7.30pm and ordered our meals at around 7.45pm. After 45 minutes asked the waiter/reception/ Barman when we could expect our meals, and he said they were on the way and wouldn’t be long. My husband, sister and brother in law followed this up over the next hour and were told that we had been informed when we booked it was going to be 1 hour! If that was the case we wouldn’t have booked and driven to one of the other eating places. Finally after 2 + hours I asked again and after another 10 minutes 1 meal and one side arrived! We canceled the rest of the food . As I am diabetic I needed to eat something as I was feeling lightheaded and nauseous and ate some of the side dish. In all we waited approximately 2 + hours after we ordered and paid for our meals. Obviously the worse dining experience any of us had endured. Could not recommend this place to anyone.

Pool table still not working. It was broken last December! Asked staff for assistance with pool balls - absolutely miserable young lady, never spoke, rude! Two days later went back (bad idea!) and man behind bar was most unhelpful and resentful when I asked for change to use their pub pool table. Summary - made to feel very unwelcome at this pub. Why are the staff so unhappy here?? Somethings not right at this place - this lot need to sort themselves out. P.S. We had a lovely experience at the Bower House Inn up the road - lovely staff, made to feel welcome - advice go there instead.
