Found Mawsons ice cream in Wasdale. So went to cafe (in Seascale) to taste in house. Great coffee and cake. Went for walk along beach and returned for Waffles with Strawberries and Chocolate. Wonderful. What a treat! Dog friendly and great staff. Whats not to like!!!

Very nice Ice Cream, freshly made, loads of flavours and a reasonable £2.50 for a large scoop in a cornet! plenty of seating on the grassy area over the road and a FREE carpark 100 yards away.

What a hidden gem! We stopped for Ice Cream (delicious BTW) one afternoon and went back for breakfast the next day. The milkshakes and fancy hot drinks were the best. The staff were lovely and it's dog friendly too

Called with friends on a day out with no idea of the reputation of this ice cream parlour and cafe. I had the orange and chocolate ice cream and realised it was something special straight away; creamy and delicious. If you're in the area, this place is an absolute must!

My partner and I had a great experience at Mawson’s this weekend. We arrived around 12:45 hoping for a table, however when we arrived there were none available - we had a lovely chat with one of the employees, and she offered to reserve us a table, she informed us that the wait will be around 15 minutes (which was absolutely fine) We came back after 15 minutes, and a table was available for us - all of the staff were lovely! Cannot fault the customer service I ordered a New Yorker panini (pastrami, pickles, mustard and cheese) and my partner had the bacon and brie panini - they arrived promptly, piping hot and delicious! We both ordered an ice cream milkshake alongside our food, I went with vanilla and my partner opted for the cookies and cream, absolutely INCREDIBLE!! Thank you so much, we live locally and we will be back!

Great American fluffy pancakes with carmel and bananas. Right next to the beach. Staff was friendly and helpful. The price was good too.

Right next to seascale beach which is beautiful. Wd had mint chocolate chip, biscoff and red berries. Staff were lovely, well worth a visit.

This place is amazing!!! The food is incredible, both the taste and presentation. The decor is delightful. And we met a dog that comes in regularly for cake!

Just had a,bacon sausage and egg roll here and it was delicious, as was the latte coffee, lovely very friendly staff and a great place for a sit down and a snack, rested my legs for 30 mins and now I'm filled up and ready to start exploring the area again. Highly recommended this place,I can imagine the ice creams and cakes being fantastic, yum yum. 😋

We visited with our 3 children on bank holiday weekend. The staff were friendly, the parlour was very clean & we had amazing ice creams, pot of tea & coffee. Would recommend! Thankyou

My friend took us here for a treat and I was nervous that as a peanut allergy sufferer I wouldn't be able to eat any of the ice cream as usual. I was so impressed when the lovely lady said that she makes her own soft scoop ice cream free from nuts, so that there is always something someone can eat (she also informed me that she caters to lots of other dietary requirements inc. dairy free). It was very yummy and so lovely to not be left out. My friends all enjoyed the very cool flavours of homemade ice cream from the counter - everyone happy!

We visit Seascale a couple of times a year and we can’t leave without having an ice cream. It’s probably the nicest ice cream I’ve ever had and I would 1000% recommend trying it yourself.

Entered the shop and was immediately asked what we wanted, there was so much to choose from we asked for time. The menu’s in the shop were not that clear and 30 seconds later were asked again what we wanted by the young girl on the ice cream scoop station pressuring and rushing us. We stated we are still looking at what flavours were on and what cone we wanted and she asked us to step aside so she could serve someone else. We then couldn’t see what flavours were available to choose. The lady on the soft serve section then asked us if we were ok, when trying to explain that we were just waiting to look at the flavours again the young girl said to the other customer “I cannot hear you, these are talking” attitude and rude we then left without purchasing and will take our business elsewhere.

fabulous little cafe, great sandwiches and delicious ice cream too. The coffee could be better, perhaps the milk was too hot which is why ours had a little bit of a 'skin' on top. Overall would still definitely recommend!!

Stopped in for an ice cream on a warm day and the staff who served us were extremely polite and efficient, good selection of flavours of ice cream. Prices were very reasonable!

Delicious ice cream and waffles, great parking, brilliantly located right next to the shore with conveniently placed benches and tables, would have been perfect if not for the bitterly disappointing, extremely lacking, completely disinterested and frankly plain rude staff member.

A true oasis next to the sea. We were advised to visit - told to look out for the big cow outside the front door. We couldn't miss it.Loads of free parking and accessible for a wheelchair - along with seating inside, and service so friendly... We could have stayed all afternoon.The food was amazing value - I had Mushroom Soup with a panini - which I was allowed to customize for my own taste. I then had a Jurassic sized waffle for dessert, topped with a MASSIVE amount of ice cream, whipped cream and honeycomb pieces... washing it all down with a really tasty Latte.The bench seating was quite tight - I did wonder if I was going to actually get out again after all this deliciousness.So - if you do visit Seascale - or even the area - make a detour, visit here.Tremendous.

Ferrero Roche was good, but some of them were off the chain. There was no portion control which worked in our favour; small but delicious selection of gelatos. Worth every penny (but it’s really cheap also).

Me apetecía un pastel para llevar a casa para el almuerzo de Mawsons y estaba satisfecho con la rebanada de grosella que compré por 2. El pastel era grueso y estaba lleno de grosellas y tenía una buena relación calidad-precio y otros pasteles que tenían en la vitrina se veían igual de buenos. Obviamente, los Mawson son más conocidos por sus helados, pero los pasteles son buenos si quieres algo diferente.Debido a las restricciones del coronavirus, los Mawsons solo permiten que un cliente entre a la tienda, lo que puede generar largas colas, pero vale la pena esperar.

Han pasado 5 años desde la última vez que estuvimos aquí y hoy fue tan bueno como lo recordamos. En un día húmedo y ventoso, nos recibieron y nos hicieron sentir especiales. Panini y sopa estaban bien, pero realmente habíamos venido por el helado casero que era excelente. Tenga en cuenta que una sola cucharada es enorme. Mucha variedad y precios muy razonables. Si se encuentra cerca de la costa oeste de Cumbria, este debería ser su destino, independientemente del clima o la hora del día, pero siempre deje espacio para el helado.

A great selection of ice cream (even sell a bucket so you can mix and match if you cant decide, even available in insulated tubs to take away. The ice cream itself was good.

Who'd believe in little unassuming Seascale there is this gem. Right at the southern end of the prom, look for the cow outside. Plenty of homemade ice creams to choose from. Well worth a visit

Vamos a Mawson's cada vez que visitamos los lagos (siempre vamos por este camino). El servicio siempre es fabuloso y el helado es delicioso. Cuando visitamos alrededor de 4 a 5 veces al año, generalmente tenemos un helado de sabor diferente para probar. Por lo general, lo obtenemos con un waffle o crepe. Si bien esto es todo lo que buscamos, la comida que sirven también se ve fantástica. Si estás leyendo esto y te diriges a Seascale, o en algún lugar cercano, sea cual sea el clima, te recomendaría una visita a Mawson's.

We don't get to the Lake District as often as we'd like, but whenever we do, we make sure to visit Mawsons. The ice cream is out of this world amazing. With unusual as well as traditional flavours. We went there for breakfast for the first time this morning and so can thoroughly recommend the bacon and cream cheese bagels and the bacon pancake stack. The place is always clean, the staff always welcoming and the prices always reasonable.

Well what can I say - absolutely divine. Worth travelling seven and a half hours for!!!!!! The family that run it were fabulous. It was like going back in time - quality.

This is a "must" on a list of things to do in Seascale. Friendly staff serve the most amazing home made ice cream in various flavours. Simply delicious! They also have cakes, waffles etc so you won't leave this place hungry!

So many different flavours of ice cream didn’t know which to choose so had 3 scoops all different flavours. All of them were delicious.

Yum, yum, yum! Stopped here for ice cream on a bit of a whim, and how fab!!!! I had crunchy honeycomb and mango/passionfruit, one son had jammy dodger and strawberry, and the other had vanilla and chocolate....all fantastic! Nice looking café as well :-)

Visited here on bank Holiday Sunday after fun on the beach. Probably the best cheesey beans on toast I've ever had. The cakes were also amazing. They even gave our dog a free ice-cream. Awesome place and will visit again

The ice cream was delicious and such a great choice of flavours. The place was packed so we took ours outside on the seafront and enjoyed the sunshine.

After a walk along the beach stopped here for paninis,tea and coffee and icecreams. The paninis were perfectly cooked and presented. Lovely tea and coffee and luscious icecreams. Would definately recommend this pretty cafe as the are also dog friendly.

We visited for lunch. It's was a lovely cafe all decked out in pink and blue. Delightful toastie and a lovely variety of ice creams. The staff were very helpful . A delightful place to visit.

Went here with my Mum (82-1/2) today. Mum chose lemon cake (huge portion and very good quality) & I couldn't choose between the others. Accepted the recommendation of the date cake - then was offered (home made) ice cream side (accepted) and heated cake. Had a coffee each and left thinking the world was a better place!

On holiday from Wolverhampton. Visited here during Storm Gareth, mainly to get out of 60mph winds and what a lovely surprise! Pleasant, homely atmosphere with friendly staff, gorgeous bacon and cream cheese bagels. Finished off with Lizzie's proudly home-made and totally delicious ice creams. Absolutely superb.

My partner and I visited on Sunday, we have never eaten in the cafe before (just had ice cream!) the cafe was spotless and the service was amazing! The two lovely ladies who work there were very attentive and polite.

Los helados se ven muy tentadores al igual que los panqueques, pero hoy era un panini y un café, todo recién cocinado, delicioso. La cafetería ofrece un excelente menú para el almuerzo o una comida por la tarde. Personalmente puedo responder por los fantásticos sándwiches y la muy traviesa pero buena selección de pasteles. Una cálida bienvenida y un personal encantador que dirige la tienda. Asegúrate de visitar si estás en esta área.

Se han caído muchas veces por un helado después de pasear al perro en la playa. Hoy tuvimos parientes y decidimos intentarlo para el almuerzo. El decorado es muy atento: te hace sentir como si estuvieras en una cabaña en la playa. Muy limpio y, como siempre, un personal muy amable que no pudo haber hecho más para ayudarnos. El chocolate caliente era realmente cremoso y chocolate, los paninis eran muy sabrosos y los waffles del bosque negro eran para morirse. Me encantó la caja de juguetes y libros para entretener a los jóvenes. Recomiendo encarecidamente una visita.

I just noticed my last review here was 2014... since then I have been at least twice a year if not more, each time the ice cream never disappoints, always something new and delicious. Recently been reburbed so a new fresh look. Savoury food also really nice if you don't have a sweet tooth!!

As visitors to Seascale on a Wednesday afternoon, we wanted a cup of coffee. Driving from the station area, there appeared to be no open café in the vicinity.

Always pay a visit for coffee & ice cream when we come to the beach. We live in Seascale so it's very often. The ice cream is delicious & made at the farm close by. We hear the cows Mooing!

Exellent ice cream. Wish there was more flavours on offer at the time. Will go back. Could do with a bit of a clean inside. Was a bit dirty. Kids loved it. Was cold the door was open when we closed it they opened it again.

Wow! Just Wow! What a lovely place. We went on a Sunday and it was still open. The ice cream is just amazing. I had mint choc chip and choc orange. You can sit inside, and outside there is limited seating, but cross the road and you get to the picnic tables right by the sea. Wow!!

A delightfully quirky little cafe with the most delicious key lime pie & chocolate orange ice cream 🍦 in the world! Cute tables & chairs with colourful cushions & pretty decorations on the walls. If you go to Seascale beach this place is a must!

Popped to the coast for our dogs to have a run & a dip in the sea, Mawsons has an unassuming frontage (aside from the life size VERY realistic cow. Inside is just gorgeous decorated so beautifully. & the Ice cream is just scrummy. Between us we tried 4/5 flavours all of which were lovely. Cheers Mawsons

Stumbled upon this lovely little cafe while wandering the seashore. Tidy lunch was had by all of us. Super selection of ice cream flavours for desert. Both courses with generous portions. Well recommended.

Travelled a good distance to visit Mawsons and wasn't disappointed. Lovely lady behind the counter - fast, friendly and helpful service. Nice quality ice cream and loved the fact you could 'customise' your KBG sundae by choosing your preferred ice cream combination. Nice 'beach hut' interior, convenient location. Not terribly cheap but worth it on balance. Recommended.

We popped in here as a group of 8 for a bite to eat , tea and sandwiches.

Qué fabuloso pequeño café, crema de hielo y enormes helados sublime para morirse. El servicio era amable y eficiente posible, teniendo en cuenta que estaba muy lleno. Por desgracia, la máquina de café estaba roto, pero el café de filtro era perfecta, tenía los Gofres con helado y era enorme, extremadamente insalubres y absolutamente precioso! Sin duda volveré!

En Seascale llegamos en un día soleado espléndido para pasear a nuestros perros en la playa y vimos esta pequeña cafetería frente al mar. Supongo que no esperábamos mucho pero cuando fuimos en estaba lleno y se podía ver por qué; 13 sabores de helados, gofres, crepes fresas frescas. . . mmmmm. Debido al clima encantador elegimos sentarnos fuera con vistas al mar - alimentos entregados rápidamente y con una sonrisa.

Fuimos allí un par de veces mientras estábamos en el paisaje. Sentado en banco de césped mirando el mar mientras cenamos comida, ordenados por dentro, pero el personal era perfecto y trajo también nosotros. Sardinas y té y café eran acertadas y en el sol...

Tiene una hermosa playa Seascale, pero no mucho más para los turistas. Buscábamos un lugar para una taza de té y este era el único lugar disponible. No mantener promesa desde el exterior pero al entrar en un precioso descubrimos cabaña en la playa 'temática'...

Estábamos localmente y el clima no era genial, durante un descanso de la lluvia decidimos ir a dar un paseo por la playa en Seascale. Vimos la heladería y decidimos ir a tomar un café, al entrar fue como un rayo de sol brillante y...

we came across this place while just walking around Seascale we parked the care then decided to walk up the hill, the wind and cold made us look for a place to get warm and there it was , nice hot coffee and tea cakes , great staff as well you cant beat it cheers

The cafe has had a lovely facelift in summer pastels. The ice cream is still silky smooth and delicious. The portions are generous and really good value for money. Best of all the team working there are friendly and fun. If you visit West Cumbria you want to add a stop here to your itinerary.

Visited with a friend who had told me how nice the crepes are. They were huge! Generously filled with a choice of fillings. I had Morello cherry with spiced orange ice cream. I was delicious but could only eat half of it as it was so filling. Good service and the café is decorated like a beach hut overlooking the beach.

What can I say...it was a cold wet miserable day and came upon this place by chance. Lady behind the counter couldn't have been nicer. Was really only after a coffee but would have been rude not to have had a 'small ice-cream'! Next time I'm in the area and the sun I shining will definitely go back.

Went for afternoon tea with 3 friends. Half the price of fancy hotels and it was delicious! The coronation chicken sandwiches the best ever and the scones were to die for... So light. We just called in for a coffee after a wet walk on the beach. Quirky decoration and obviously a labour of love by the owners, who seemed to be rewarded by a close relationship with most of the local customers who filled the place. Although there were plenty of mums, with kids using the playthings provided, it wasn't as noisy or chaotic as is often the case in these circumstances.Friendly and cheerful service, reasonable prices.

This is our second visit in our week away... lovely panini and choice of ice creams. Staff very friendly and welcoming... once we learnt if the cow was out it meant they were open, very different idea..

We called in for a light lunch and icecream. Our party had paninis and sandwiches which were ok but nothing special. Ice cream was delicious. I dont like to write negative reviews but I felt compelled to here Im afraid. The staff looked like they wished they were somewhere else. The only smile was cracked when we were paying up. Everytime a customer came in they couldnt wait to get back to their mobile phones. Almost as though customers were getting in the way of their social media. I have reviewed this as so because this is actually the second time I have been here and the staff have been pretty much the same...obsessed with their mobile phones. Its really unprofessional and off putting to customers. It spoilt our visit and I wont be in a hurry to call again.
