The best restaurants in Chester Villages Cheshire West and Chester North West

Just had the most amazing meal as always. But their honey and lemon cheesecake is the best I’ve had in ages. Thanks for great food and service.

The food was outstandingly delicious with an extensive, varied menu to choose from. All very reasonably priced. Definitely the best Thai food we've had in a long time and we shall return soon.

sat nav sent us North up the Whitchurch road uinstead of South. would have been helpful to have Canal Drive in the hotel address

A brilliant country pub/restaurant in the middle of beautiful peaceful village surroundings. The Bird in Hand was renovated only a few years ago. Stavros is a friendly person an some how remembers the last time you visited the place! All the staff are polite and friendly also. The food is amazing, fresh and reasonably priced. An excellent place to take your partner or go out for a meal.

Great local pub, a fantastic pint of Timothy Taylor’s Landlords and good Guinness. Really cosy bar at the front. Read other reviews about the customer service: the landlord is old school and, as long as you are polite, this will be reciprocated. If you are looking for a modern gastro pub, this isn’t it. If you are looking for a cosy pub, with lots of character, the Plough is perfect.

Used to love coming here and have been for years, but I have noticed a decline in quality and in service. Today really was the final straw. After trying to correct an order which was brought to us wrong I was made to carry around our plates of food to and from the kitchen whilst the staff watched as they couldn’t be bothered to do it themselves. The lady who I kindly asked to help correct the order was nothing but cold and rude. The food itself has come to the same quality as Wetherspoon's but for 3x the price. Most of the food looked as if it’d been sat out in a buffet and definately wasn’t fresh. As I say I’m really dissapointed due to how fab it used to be but will not be returning due to how I was treated today.

Dirty, no tables cleaned and rubbish left on tables for the whole 40mins of our visit.

Stopped by after being at the zoo for the day. Despite it being quite busy and we hadn't booked we were seated straight away and didn't have to wait long to be served. Staff were all very friendly and carvery good value for money
