Five stars all the way, what more can I say. Excellent food and service in the perfect space to relax and enjoy a meal with family and friends.

Burger was huge and tasty. Doubled up on the patty. Really didn't need to. It was whopping and tasty asf! Photo doesn't do it justice! Friendly staff and nice ambience

Burgers are ace, staff were busy and we did have an issue with the bill and struggled to get more drinks but apart from that it was very good.

gorgeous setting, staff very professional and knowledgeable. the roast was probably one of the best I have had in a very long time, not stodgy or fatty, perfect!

I think this is my fave pub. So welcoming with children or not. Dressed up or down. My go to place to relax. 🍷

Great place to meet up with our family. Including our grandchildren we were a party of nine and we were well looked after. Our food was very tasty and we all had a great time. Thank you.

Some staff excellent. Others more pushy. Food v good. Other diners had a v loud dog who barked periodically (they weren't bothered) and also knocked over ice bucket making a very loud clatter. Not exactly relaxing.

We visited on Friday night. The place was nicely decorated and was reasonably busy. The staff were generally attentive but one staff member was incredibly rude and did not even try to hide out. Openly being obnoxious to an elderly guest. Her attitude did not improve throughout the night. The food was OK. However, it seems obvious the vast majority of the food is bought in and warmed up, rather than them actually making the food there. The Buddha bowl was fine, but the chicken seemed pre-cooked and warmed up and the guacamole was clearly manufactured off site. The banooffee cheesecake was without banana and just full of preservative and gelatin. Realistically, how hard and costly can it be to make a homemade cheesecake. A shame really as the place is really nice but the price you pay does not echo the very average standard of the food.

Nice pub and friendly helpful staff. Love the vibe and the food. Seems like fish and chips are a thing to order here! Rest of the good is yummy too, not cheap but OK priced considering the surroundings.

This was our first visit to Christleton and we are here during a busy Saturday night. Good varied menu with some unusual items. I went for a sticky beef Buddha bowl which was great. Full of flavour and different to the usual pub grub. Prices were reasonable and was a good atmosphere with it being busy. Enjoyable visit.

Absolutely delicious, I got trio roast dinner, beef was a little bit tough, apart from that, faultless. My husband had gammon, it was really tender and he enjoyed it all.

Visit here for lunch with friends every couple of months. Comprehensive menu including some good vegetarian options. Restaurant is usually busy and noisy, booking probably advisable. Service pleasant, food served quickly and of a good standard. My go to dish is the Buddha Bowl which is excellent . Perhaps unfortunate that on this occasion one of the staff was at the table next to us working on a laptop and making telephone calls- surely not necessary. Always find meals good value for money

Ring o bells is a great pub and great staff. We held my 40th here and it was great. We also regularly go for a drink at Ring O bells. We have also never had an issue with food. We visited here last week for a Sunday roast with friends and the Sunday trio roast was amazing maybe one of the best roasts I have had in a long time. If you’re looking for a friendly pub, great staff, party bookings and more look no further this is it. I have a lot of experience in hospitality and this place always delivers.

Typical English pub food and atmosphere

Best place for quality food in the area. It isn’t the cheapest but we always get good service and the menu is often changing. They do good value 241 deals on weeknights which makes it much more affordable. Also great with kids as their extensive menu always includes fresh pizza - we have fussy eaters and never have a problem. Oh and it’s gorgeous all times of year due to the lovely setting - garden in summer and fire in winter.

I have visited this wonderful pub twice in two weeks after a recommendation. The staff are really friendly and polite, particularly the barman and provided exceptional customer service. Both times I have had ordered pizza and it was delicious. Easily some of the best pizza I've had down the pub and I can't wait to order more off the menu. The choice of guest ales and lagers was good too and the outside seating area was a good size and the outdoor booths a nice touch. Very highly recommended.

A busy pub car park was full, but wouldn't have known it from inside the pub. Acknowledged by a member of staff as we walked in & shown to our table. Menu explained by ( I think her name was Charlotte). Drinks & food appeared & was delicious, nothing to fault at all & Charlotte was a great server, it's nice to go somewhere & recieve great service, thank you.

My wife and I took a short walk up from our overnight stay at a hotel down the road and we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of people there on a Wednesday night both eating and drinking, great atmosphere, superb staff and a very nice friendly barman who served us drinks and gave an excellent rundown on the food available there that evening, 5 stars! 🤩

Disappointed with my main meal fish was best I have eaten for a long while but the chips over cooked hard and put a damper on the meal. But the rest of the meal was very good. My fault I should have sent them back and didn't as time was short but I did inform the waitress and she offered a replacement.

Fantastic find! Went on 2 for 1 pizza night and despite being super busy the staff were friendly and attentive a clearly enjoying their jobs. Pizzas arrived hot and were delicious. The pub has a great atmosphere. We both had chocolate brownie for dessert and I would highly recommend this. My only disappointment is that it's too far from home so I can't go regularly!

Only popped in for a drink. Nice table layout and food looked great (didn't eat on this occasion). 3 casks ales on for those who enjoy real ale.

34 family members went here for Sunday lunch. The food was delicious the service was great, friendly knowledgeable staff, nothing was to much trouble. We all thoroughly enjoyed our visit & can't wait to go back.

Very loud in the day , took mum here for her bday and the women next to use were smashed and so loud. The staff didn't care. The food wasn't that great to for the price. I.dont know how you do undercooked chips.and soggy pizza at that price

Wednesday 2-4-1 Pizza Scam. Pizzas come with barely any toppings & were incredibly tasteless. Don’t do the pizza deal!! Service is slow, have seen snails move faster. Wouldn’t recommend.

Really nice experience on a Sunday evening. Sunday menu had plenty of choice. Service was good though a little slow with drinks but it was busy. Food was lovely. Would highly recommend.

Lovely village pub with good atmosphere, nice eating area in the conservatory. Food was delicious, we had the Sunday Roast (which is difficult to get right in my opinion!) and my daughter had a pizza. Staff were very attentive and friendly despite clearly being very busy. Drinks were made and served quickly. Would highly recommend.

Lovely ambience. Service was friendly and efficient. Food is tasty and quite large portions. Sunday roast (turkey and beef) was delicious and very filling. Outside seating is nice and they have some interesting covered wooden booths which look like fun on a warmer day. With that said they did have heaters so maybe even on cooler days it could be fun.

Disappointed by Lack of Inclusivity for Dietary Needs We've enjoyed visiting Ring of Bells in the past for their great service, good food, and excellent midweek offers. This week, we called ahead about their 2-for-1 pizza deal, hoping they could accommodate my husband's recent Coeliac diagnosis. While we understand that not all restaurants can provide gluten-free pizzas, we were disappointed they couldn't include any gluten-free dishes in the deal. It feels frustrating that people with dietary restrictions are made to pay full price and the offers are exclusive to those without such conditions. We also noticed there's no gluten-free menu available online, and the available options aren't clearly listed. Despite a smaller disclaimer about potential separation issues in the kitchen, we felt overlooked when we reached out to a staff member to see what could be done, as advised! We don't usually post reviews of this tone, as we're typically the first to rave about a restaurant. However, it's disheartening that we felt excluded. We simply hope that Ring of Bells can become more inclusive in the future, allowing everyone (no matter the dietary) to enjoy their offers and meals.

Went in an afternoon, walked in to c if it was dog friendly. No one behind bar as i could c,but two women sat in bar ,no one spoke, i then turned and asked if they knew ,and they said yes ,so went and got the dog ,then when i came back one of the woman got up to serve me .felt as if i was being A bother .so had 1 and left .

Managed to get a last minute table for Saturday lunch. Food was lovely, well cooked. Staff very friendly. The only downside was the noise levels. No soft furnishings and open plan meant we could barely talk to each other. Such a shame.

Been here 3 or 4 times now and the food and service is always spot on. Highly recommend the calamari and fish and chips - one of the best curry sauces I’ve had!

Had the 2 for 1 Burgers 🍔 on a Friday night. Very nice chicken burger Hot sauce was hot 🔥 great service and an all round lovely place.

Party of 7 - other food was ok but the fish and chips were terrible - soggy batter was dripping in oil - had to mop the plate with a napkin because the peas were swimming in oil - if it wasn’t a birthday celebration we would have sent them back - disappointed !

Christleton is a lovely little village that's about an hour's walk up the canal from Chester. Been here quite a few times for a meal and never been disappointed. It's a well presented pub. The dining room has huge windows giving it a very bright interior. There's also a nice beer garden behind the dining room. The food and service has always been excellent. Recommend the Chilli beef salad.

Very nice place! Definitely worth a visit. The garden looked nice and has a playground at the back but unfortunately it was wet when we visited. Food was beautiful and service prompt.

My favourite place to go for any occasion. Been lots with family, friends or just as a couple but they were so fab at looking after our table of 14 this weekend that I couldn't not leave a review. 14 meals that all came out perfect and together. Popped into the venue for a quick Sunday Roast late afternoon. Service , decor and food all excellent however I thought two small slices of roast beef was a little poor .

We popped in on our way to Rowton Hall for a smallish bite to eat. It was very busy, but they managed to squeeze two more in🤗. The service was quick, the food was good. On our way home the following afternoon we returned and had a late lunch. Not quite so busy & we found a good table. I had the tomato & herb soup with focaccia bread, which was lovely. Hot soup, the way I like it. Well done Ring O'Bells.👏👍😊

I have just been for a meal with my two Grandchildren, they had a good choice of food. The staff were very friendly, I found it good value for money.

Place was able to squeeze us in after a cancellation near by. The food was amazing and SO quick! 10/10

Stopped by for Sunday lunch and so glad we did. I had pork, my wife had turkey, and we shared a Yorkshire pud. We just had room for the Bakewell tart desert. It was as good as any pub lunch we've had anywhere. Quality ingredients all cooked to perfection, and good size portions. Proper pub atmosphere, and very attentive staff. Not cheap, but we'll worth it.

We’ve been to this pub lots of times over the past 40 years and I’m afraid our recent visit will be our last. We don’t mind paying for quality but we definitely do take exception when food is served that is below par. Sorry but we won’t be going back.

Ate here a few years ago — tremendous food. Unfortunately, it's gone downhill since. Ordered the Cheeseburger and the Chickenburger — both were low quality with minimal salad. The bun was soggy and cheap. My burger had a cheese slice on it. Chips were advertised as ‘skin on’ chips, but what arrived was nothing more than the equivalent of McCain’s fries. Very disappointing for what used to be a lovely dining experience.

I took seven family members for Christmas lunch yesterday. Brilliant from start to finish, efficient service delivered in a relaxing friendly and interested fashion. Food was great, the seasonal menu was really well done. Reasonable prices. Can’t tel you how pleased we were. Staff are top notch.

Absolutely first class…. The staff are friendly and attentive, with nothing too much trouble. Then we come to the food…..fabulous. Can’t recommend the Sunday Lunch highly enough. Meat and vegetables all cooked just right, and plenty of both. Definitely worth a visit if around Chester

Previously visited this pub the last time we were in Chester and wanted to return. Not disappointed. We had just the two courses which were very filling and tasty. We will certainly return. Good food and well presented.

Went for the 50% off food day. You literally get half the food…. Small portion of chips served in those pathetic mesh silver holders, which hold about 6 chips! Come on guys… chips are dirt cheap! You could fill half the plate with them & have happy/full customers.

Great pub with excellent beers good service and good food - set in a beautiful village it is well worth a visit - yesterday we visited for a 30th Birthday celebration - the service was outstanding and a particular "shout out" and thanks to William for his attention and kindness - his smile added tremendous value to the day - the food was [as always] excellent too
