Fabulous Sunday roast dinner. We opted for a 2 course lunch starting with the ribs and chilli crispy beef, both were full of flavour and with the rib meat tender and juicy. We then had our carvery Sunday Roast and I have to say it one one of the best I have ever had. The beef and gammon were cooked to perfection, my grandson who is almost 1 could eat the beef it was that tender! Served with a large variety of vegetables, I just opted for the red cabbage, creamy leeks & cauliflower cheese, all full of flavour and accompanied with a good Yorkshire pudding and nice roast potatoes ( mash also available). I would recommend booking if you can but we did do a walk inn. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely look forward to dinning here again when in the area, it’s about 10 min drive from ChesterZoo too!

My wife and I called for breakfast after seeing the sign for all day breakfast on the main road. We were both pleasantly surprised. The food was spot on. I had the eggs benedict, my wife had the full English, both were cooked perfectly. The full English had everything it should, including black pudding and hash brown. All good quality. Coffee was nice too. Prices were very reasonable and staff very atentive, friendly and polite. Would definitely go back and recommend to friends. Thank you.

We arrived to be met by a friendly chap called Joe who showed us to our rooms asking if we had anymore luggage that he could get for us he explained all we had to know in a excellent manner. The rooms were excellent, cleanliness was outstanding on entering the bar area Joe showed us to a table in the restaurant we ordered drinks and two bowls of home made tomato soup as we had already had a late lunch and were not really that hungry , the soup was excellent. Watching other orders coming out all freshly made from the start the quality and quantity looked fantastic we are booked in on Monday 20th May on our way back from Scotland so we will be having food there and looking forward to it

We enjoyed 3 days and nights in March. We found the location to be conveniently located to Nantwich and Cheshire and we were comfortable. Quiet location. Pub downstairs had great food. See photos. Our only negative would be the cultural appropriation of a North American Indigenous Tipi, coming from Canada, Reconciliation is top of mind, and we found it a bit tasteless.

Good value room; decent bed, decent bathroom, quiet enough considering it's next to a main road and decent finish on the decor. The only criticism I have is that the towels were small, that's it. Overall the service and staff were great too, I can't complain 🙂

Stayed here for two night's wished ll"l booked longer, never have eaten so well with glorious food, for any cheesecake lover's i urge you to experience the Malteser cheesecake. The room's are spacious and well equipped and spotless, and located just right within travelling distance for shopping and attractions. The staff are welcoming and charming and so very helpful, but i must make special mention to Polly the morning breakfast Queen, please take a bow epic breakfast and banter, and then there's Rachel aka Stacey she was everywhere im convinced she is a triplet Lol She's an absolute diamond, nothing was a bother always smiling. So in summary cannot recommend the Poplars highly enough, thank you all from the bottom of my heart for such a lovely experience definitely coming back Brian Blake

My fiends and I live local, we have gone to Poplars for years ,quite often as we all want to support local business especially since the Covid Pandemic. Overall the food was average. There has always been no Vegan option for both main meal and pudding, which was very frustrating. Normally I have to have a vegetarian meal rather than Vegan when I go to Poplars, as there is no Vegan option which is not ideal. But it’s convenient, so I would suck it up each time when my friends and I go out go to enjoy a local meal. At the end of the meal, I asked for my food to be put into a take away box, the waitress said she would bring me a take away box ? I thought I must have miss heard . But oh no .. I kid you not… she came back to the table with a take away box! Err what was I supposed to do, start scrapping my food into a take away box in at the table in front of the other guests ??? She could see the take away box was way too small for and offered to get me a second take away box. I felt like I was getting punished for not finishing my meal !!! At this point I was just in disbelief and lost for words… I think she could see the utter shock on my face and she offered to do it for me. I just said “it’s fine just take it thanks “ . My friends and I just looked at each other in disbelief (did that just happen?) we laughed .. couldn’t believe it ..to the point that we ended up joking, perhaps we could mop the floor on our way out and lock up! What a bad end to a lovely catch up . Jokes aside ,since when has it been common practice to ask customers to pack their own take away box .. at the table ?!?? I was so embarrassed. No absolutely not … won’t go back. No Vegan option anyway. Thanks Poplars, but no thanks, Ring O’Bells around the corner.. .. here we come ! Seriously Poplars you guys need to up your game… Vegan food is a growing market world wide, especially amongst the youth of this world , you need be more accommodating / be more inclusive! Very disappointing. What a shame .

Excellent venue, delicious food, great staff. We booked a family dinner for my 60th birthday. 14 of us thoroughly enjoyed our experience in the wigwam. Despite it being sub zero outside, with ice on the ground. It was cosy inside. All food arrived deliciously hot. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this for a family event.

We discovered this lovely restaurant en route to London from Holyhead. We had an excellent lunch. We meant to only stay for a quick ish lunch but then stayed for desert because we were enjoying the lunch/setting. Carvery was really good. Huge selection of very well cooked vegetables and sides. Roast potatoes were great too. Top marks to the chef. Husband had the Greek kebab which was tasty and delicious. The children all were very happy with their choices and it was really good value. The sticky toffee pudding was also demolished. Service was friendly and good. The dog was also welcomed. We also had a really good, sturdy spacious table with lots of room for water, napkins, extra plates, etc - really helpful with small children. Definitely worth a visit. We will be back. Thank you.

9 of us met here for our monthly get together food was outstanding 👌 there was a couple of issues with our meals being served on very small plates, making the meals tricky to eat, maybe I am being picky and our server kept calling the guys mate.. which is quite unprofessional. We have not been to The Poplars since before Covid lock down. We had the carvery which could not be faulted. I had the beef which was beautifully tender and RARE - great rarity (excuse the pun) at most carveries. Vegetables were great and various and staff very polite and efficient. However, even having booked and the dining room almost empty, we were put in the bar. It had three televisions on and, to me other intrusive music, the barista on the coffee machine rivalled an engineering plant for banging and crashing. We should have asked to move but unfortunately did not. So, if you are panning to go there for an excellent Sunday lunch (which I highly recommend) I suggest you book a table in the dining room !!

At last, a place that I would definitely return to. My wife and I came for Sunday lunch, we have never been before and were slight trepadacious, as the last three times that we have eaten out, it has been hugely disappointing. We had our meal in one of the garden huts, which is a great fun idea, cosy and private. The service was very attentive and the food from starter to dessert was delicious, also the coffee we ordered was actually hot... Look forward to returning.

We went for tea on a Saturday evening. Although the weather was wet we still chose to dine in one of the barns outside. It was a summer house and was so cute. It was really pretty with lights, music, a fire (which we didnt need) and a long table to seat 6. We had a lovely view down the garden and it was also very private which was great because we could let our dogs off their leads and close the door so they couldn't escape. The food was delicious and the staff were very attentive and friendly considering the weather. They didnt mind the fact they had to get the food past the dogs each time they came to bring something. A lovely evening and we will definitely be visiting again.
