Used to love coming here and have been for years, but I have noticed a decline in quality and in service. Today really was the final straw. After trying to correct an order which was brought to us wrong I was made to carry around our plates of food to and from the kitchen whilst the staff watched as they couldn’t be bothered to do it themselves. The lady who I kindly asked to help correct the order was nothing but cold and rude. The food itself has come to the same quality as Wetherspoon's but for 3x the price. Most of the food looked as if it’d been sat out in a buffet and definately wasn’t fresh. As I say I’m really dissapointed due to how fab it used to be but will not be returning due to how I was treated today.

We’ve visited Meadow Lea on many occasions, however on the last few times we’ve noticed the service isn’t as good as it used to be. Twice we’ve been given wrong orders and the food hasn’t been hot. I’m hoping this is just a blip as I do enjoy going there and will try it again in a couple of weeks as the food is lovely.

This is a nice Cafe which serves good food. I often meet friends there. It’s got a log burner which is lovely. The staff are very nice. The only down side for me is dogs are allowed in the cafe. I would prefer it if there was a separate area for dogs and their owners.

The eastern entrance to the Chester Millenium Greenway at Mickle Trafford is conveniently just a few yards from Meadow Lea Farm Cafe. We chose this for a brief family meet up and we’re pleased to find the modern interior of the cafe in a building that once might have served as an animal shed. A busy youthful team were on hand to take our order, and my crisply cooked thick sliced Cheshire bacon in a freshly baked bap was delicious. My wife’s toasted tea cake was quickly devoured mostly by the grandchildren. Our latte’ s had a real freedom taste. We sat outside on a warm morning to observe the spectacular dahlia display and the arrivals in the farmyard/ car park. Some interesting options were available for lunch. Customer attire indicated that here is a popular rendezvous for the cycling fraternity who are about to set forth or maybe have just returned from the green journey into central Chester and onwards along the Dee to Connah’s Quay wharf in Wales. Sitting out in September with sweet drinks and jam makes this a focus to wasps! Our grandchildren particularly enjoyed the free rides on the play tractors etc in abundance for entertaining the lively toddler.

The food was good could not fault that but the surroundings were not great I understand dogs can go in there but when they bark alot ( high pitched) it’s not great but when there owner then puts her plate on the floor and lets the dog eat her leftovers sorry for me that’s abit much . Someone did tell the girl but they just took the plate with all the others … I also asked if someone could clear the table after we had eaten because we were having another drink and she said NO sorry they have not got time so we moved the plates ourselves to another table . Does not want to make me return.

Come here when me and my son ride our bikes over this way….in the past has been ok but today unfortunately not…. Arrived and was 3/4 full. All empty tables had plates piled high on. We found a vacant table and I went to order….I was told at the till ALL hot food will be at least 30 mins. My lad was hungry so I continued and ordered. We ordered 2 cheese and onion toasties , latte and cookie (cookie at £2.60 I thought very steep)….drinks and cookie arrived with 15 mins. Food was just short of 40 mins. I could see they had had a busy lunch but didn’t seem short staffed I clocked 6 on shift. 40 mins seems excessive for two toasties. The cheese in the toasties was a mature brand so when it melts it goes greasy and had a split effect. Unsure if they’ve changed the cheese ? This has never been the case in the past. Also my toastie was all cheese one half and then all onions the other making it not really enjoyable. Nobody came and asked if everything was ok with our food etc. Also noted a lot of food debris on kitchen floor and restaurant floor too…. We will return as it’s a regular stopping route for us but I felt the need to suggest that today was below par ….. Thanks.

Excellent service & food as always. One star less this time as car park is a ice skating ring your a business and a very good one but not gritting your car park is dangerous. I did not find it to bad but I have good balance. My wife went flying on the floor lucky did not hurt her self. I can never fault this place it amazing and one of our go to places. So this is not a Bad review this is a review is simply about taking care of the public parking area. Keep up the good work but grit the car park. A lot of elderly people come for food here they would not have a chance 7/10 this time

Popped in for an ice cream. I think we called at a bad time. We were ignored by staff whilst loitering by the ice cream freezer. Thinking we must be supposed to go to the till to order we went there. A server concentrated very hard on making the two hot drinks in front of them and didn’t have the common courtesy to look up, smile (or not) and say I’ll be with you as soon as I’ve done this. A different server put some dirty plates down and asked if they could help. We asked for a tub of chocolate ice cream to take away instead of eating in.

Our daughter wanted to walk here on her birthday and have lunch, we've been plenty of times before but this time we were disappointed, there were no clean tables, we were served our lunch and the previous people's plates etc were still on our table when we were eating, it had been busy but it's had steadied off and the staff should have gone around and tidied up. My husband and I had a sausage sandwich and we both commented on how tough the skin was, when we finished we sat for a while before walking home and our plates then were also stacked up with the previous diners, staff walked past repeatedly but when we left all the plates etc were still there. We were disappointed this time and probably won't hurry back.

Visited as a family. Have been a few times before and enjoyed each past visit. This time, the other meals were fine. I opted for scrambled egg on toast and got what could only be an egg, cracked and not beaten into a cup. Microwaved till rubbery then mashed with a fork so it looked like a mashed up hard boiled egg. I didnt complain as the queue at the counter was 10 deep. Again the other meals were up to the usual quality. So just avoid scrambled egg.

Close to where we live but we still pop in as the food is very good, good range of sandwiches and very good cake, the coffee cake and the lemon sponge is particularly good and we like to share the Fish finger but tie and the Bacon and Brief sandwich, delicious!!.Friendly staff, very popular with walkers and cyclists as so close to the cycle path

As a cyclist and dog walker I have always supported this very good café, and their general attitude. However, not for the first time, I was disappointed that they start cleaning up and shutting up shop well before their advertised closing time. This time I was with members of the well-established Chester Easy Riders Cycle Club. The irony is that we have recently voted them onto our rota of venues where we meet before a ride. It is obvious that their focus at 3.35p.m. is to tidy up and get off home, whatever their customers' needs. It is disappointing to ride a couple of hours back to Chester, and find them so indifferent to providing any hot drink or sustenance to patrons well before 4p.m.

This was a very friendly and welcoming cafe even for our little fur baby. We sat outside in the courtyard and had an excellent all day breakfast made with top quality produce. Nice cakes as well. Will definitely be returning.

The cafe is very local to me and I'm a frequent visitor. The cooked breakfast is always of good standard. The ciabatta is well worth trying too.

Popped in for lunch with friends...but couldn't resist a full English. Absolutely lovely, I'm quite fussy about bacon but this was lovely. Everything appeared to be cooked from fresh. Can't fault it. Love that I can take my puppy in with me too.

Love this place. It is just down the road from me and go there for the All day breakfast. £7.40 with tea or coffee - good quality local food. Yummy!

I was with a friend, who is poorly, and doesn't cope well with crowds. I wanted somewhere that was a little bit quieter and out of the way. We fell on our feet with this place. We arrived just after it had opened, so there was only one other person there. The place filled up quickly, which is a measure of how popular it is, but that was ok, as by then we were sat down and chatting away. The place is light and airy, with a decent space around the tables. The staff are polite and friendly.

Visited by cycle on a rather busy Saturday afternoon. So crowded that six of us had to wait for table, then further delay if we wanted other than tea and cake.

This little Cafe punches well above its weight. The food is always quick, tasty and the service is great. The Breakfast here is one of the best I have ever eaten. Its nice to find somewhere that does a full English breakfast that isn't covered in grease. I have eaten here many times and will continue to do so.

Somewhat hidden down a country lane but a good find for those who require an injection of sustenance. A working farm with a unit converted/constructed into a café that supplies good wholesome food, locally resourced and home cooked/baked. Full variety of breakfast foods and warming snacks available along with a great selection of pastries and cakes. It appeared to be the "local" for Cyclists as about 30 of them turned up while we were there, filling the place. My only negative about the Meadow Lea Farm Café was their acceptance of dogs. Whether on a lead or not, I personally see no place for a dog where food is present and I'm surprised the Local Environmental Health do.

We have visited many times since the cafe opened. Never fails to deliver great home made food at reasonable prices. Amazing breakfast, farm size portions. Home made cakes to die for. Keep up the great work!

This is the third visit. The other times we had a very pleasant time. Today, however was very disappointing we did not even get in through the front door! Locked only 3.48! We went round the side and asked if they were still serving?

Another little out of the way cafe serving good wholesome snacks and meals. Seems to be a favourite haunt for walkers and cyclists although me, my daughter and son-in-law travel there by car.

Attended Saturday night quiz. Arrived at 7:00pm. Started with a glass of red wine and Mediterranean platter followed by a to die for cheesecake( all food freshly cooked by Jason ( chef ) and the team. Wolfed the cheese cake down and realised I hadn't took a picture. Had a few more vino's during the quiz along with some banter with Jason and the regular customers. All tables were booked and nice to see a full house. Made a change to the average Saturday night and will certainly do it again. Would recommend to call in prior for some brekky or lunch to book quiz any day before or on Saturday. Quiz moved on quicker than your normal pub quiz which was great with the light banter and no typical interruptions from pub scene. Didn't win the quiz but enjoyed trying.

Stumbled on this wonderful cafe as we were on our way home from a camping trip. The staff are incredibly friendly and were so welcoming and kind to my 5yo daughter. The food was amazing, we both had the breakfast and my daughter had a lunch box which she loved and I thought it was great value, when we went inside to pay we couldn't not buy one (or two) of the amazing cakes. So delicious. Thank you :)

Our favourite place to come for brunch after football. The team, as always, went above and beyond with the orders for our family (all with different dietary requirements). The boys had the classic big breakfast with local products at a great price. I tried the weekend special eggs Benedict and it was amazing. The boys filled their boots. The girls enjoyed new things. The doorstop toast alone is worth the visit. Sadly, no room for my favourite one the menu - parsnip cake, but the cake-away option meant I could enjoy it later. We brought a friend for their first visit and she was blown away.
