Had no food but the bitter was excellent and service spot on

I’ve been wanting to go in and try the food here for a while and certainly was not disappointed! 5 star food and service from Nigel, Lesley and their fantastic team. Can’t wait to try the many other cuisines on offer as they always keep it interesting with different world foods.

Fantastic pub great food and drink and a good place to rest for cyclists on the Manchester 100 bike ride.

Visited the Crown over the bank holiday with my family and was not disappointed. Lovely pub with equally lovely staff. The food was exceptional really good. It is advisable to book a table as it was very busy. Well worth a visit we will be back when next in the area.

Fish was great, just too many chips otherwise lovely

Perfectly timed service, delicious mussels and chicken wings to start and cheese pie and chicken Caesar salad for main.. beautifully prepared. Great wine and very friendly. Nigel, Lesley and Evie make The Crown a great place to visit, punching above their weight for a local pub, feel very lucky we can walk to it

The service at the start, we couldn’t fault although a little wait on the drinks. The food was absolutely terrible. My partners burger was basically raw, buttermilk chicken with raw batter and when he went to pick it up, there was no burger bun on the bottom. I had hunters chicken and it was extremely dry. Hardly any sauce or cheese on top. We sat at a table which was reserved for 7pm, we were then told we only had an hour to eat although we arrived at 5pm and they didn’t require the table until 7pm! We are not the type to complain but this was an absolute joke. We will not be returning. When we left the “manager” which we asked to speak to didn’t seem concerned, and said they were “training” the chef.

Very disappointed with the Sunday lunches we had yesterday, food was only mildly warm, and very bland especially the beef and gammon, small portions with only a quarter of a fried potatoe, not convinced the food is freshly prepared.

Great service and great food at the Crown this afternoon. The staff were really accommodating and couldn't do more for us, very friendly. The food was great also. We are local but haven't been for a while but we definitely go back again soon. Thanks

Can't review the food as when we called in on a Tuesday evening, we were told they don't serve food on a Tuesday. Landlord was very friendly though and directed us to another establishment.

A sunny Friday afternoon so decided to have a drive and just no definite place to aim for. Just out for a nice relaxing afternoon. Well came across this little gem of a place with locals very welcoming the indoor & outdoor seating is very good. It’s one of them finds that makes you want to return and we will. Perfect anytime of the year but a summer afternoon or evening will be a nice place to visit. Not over expensive so that’s even better.

Had a great night here for Valentine’s Day, I don’t like to celebrate usually but we went the crown for a special menu which was Tapas The food was amazing g, atmosphere great and always a friendly face from all the staff Nothing was too much trouble

My friend and I had Sunday lunch here yesterday. It was amazing we both really enjoyed it. Can highly recommend this fab pub! We will definitely be back soon.

Hello, Dropped in here last night for the first time. A lovely warm welcome Food was good... there's a pie menu :-) Ale also good.

I must say this was the worst meal I have ever had. Steak cooked only on one side, tomato should of been in a salad not cooked and rock hard, no onion rings as stipulated on the menu, lamb shank out of a bag, roast beef warmed out of a pack used to make sandwiches, no roast potatoes and frozen Yorkshire out of a packet. We shouldn’t have paid but being decent people we did but will NOT be visiting again

First time visiting. Good value menu, home cooked homely menu 15.99 for two courses. Wish they served veg rather than side salad with the meals though, cottage pie with side salad. Only us eating which I thought was weird. And food seemed to take some time… even the starters. I can’t say I noticed any veggie options either. Nice staff, the owner was very hospitable. Bit far out for us to go back, but pretty good value.

Went for a drink & snack,prawn cocktail & white bait were average, which was fine but was not told about drinks only being served as doubles. Bill came to £43 for 2 drinks & 2 starters, when queried the bill was told they only do doubles. I feel this should have been stated when orderering the drink. Very unsatisfactory visit. Will not be returning!

First visit and loved the place, great atmosphere, lovely food and beer and very welcoming. I will surely go back. I recommend the curry night. I haven't looked yet but the landlord says they use the usual social media sites to promote theme nights and entertainment.

We visited on a Saturday afternoon, the bar staff were unwelcoming despite not being busy. Large tv blaring away. We decided to sit outside with our drinks, tables were dirty and sprinkled with cigarette ash . We decided not to buy a second round or buy food. I had visited previously but place seems to have gone downhill under the new ownership. Won't be spending money there again.

Called for lunch, where met by friendly lady who told us that they don't do food at lunchtime. Looked as if there was a fair selection of cask ales. Pity we had to move on, but looked a really nice pub . Will try to call another time.

The loveliest most wonderful welcoming pub in the world! The service is excellent, the food is delicious, the place is cosy, the value for money is unbelievable and the owners and their staff are the friendliest, most helpful people. We just wish we lived closer! Muchas gracias for your unbeatable hospitality!

Wow! What a fabulous Sunday lunch. Recently taken over by new landlord. Staff were amazing, very friendly and welcoming, nothing too much trouble. Food really good and plentiful. Nice pub and atmosphere. We’ll be back next Sunday 😃

Poor Sunday lunch - items missing off plates. Frozen veg and roasties. Expensive. Raised complaint via Facebook but no response.

Went as a family of 5 for a Sunday roast. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Lovely staff. Reasonably priced.

The atmosphere, drinks, cleanliness, and food are excellent. A destination venue in the beautiful village of Lower Peover. I strongly recommend it.

Just had the loveliest meal, prawn cocktail starter, a huge beef roast with all the trimmings. Great choice of wine and the service was spot on, could not fault a thing. Definitely will be back.

What a great real pub!. A proper pub!. None of this 'stand by the bar and feel unwanted because you aren't sat having a meal rubbish' (like 95% of the gastropubs that exist these days). Almost a novelty these days, and a proper heart of a local village full of locals socialising. Great selection of beers, lagers & IPA's and an even better selection of quality wines. They even sell Christal champagne!. Great staff and a landlord that is a proper host.

Another fantastic evening raising money for charity many positive comments I find it incredible how churlish people are who never visit establishments and leave scathing reviews. Stay in Knutsford there are many establishments that would suit you.

Recently Changed hands & after several visits we are not impressed. They cannot pull a pint, the wine isn’t good & just to be acknowledged would give you a warm welcome, we will not be going back any time in the future & if they want to survive they will need to pull their socks up!

Lovely new owners with great experience, I'm sure they will take the Crown to another level !! A great range of beer and wine it will definitely be my new local !!

Simple and Easy going pub with really well kept beer. Good choice on the menu and friendly staff and customers. There is always some warm hearted banter at the bar with an easy going vibe. Prices are fair and there is plenty of parking. Well worth dropping by if you are in Lower Peover.

Arrived for lunch Friday. Turned away myself and my 93 year old Uncle said it was too hot in the kitchen to cook. This is the second time in Les than 8 months we've been turned away. Twice they said they had a function later in the day and they weren't providing lunches. Pretty poor when I had to drive 18 miles to pick up my Uncle Never again.. Poor service,! shame because the food is good

Really lovely ladies, one the owner and one running the bar. So friendly and welcoming. Be wanting to come this pub for a long time so glad we got the opportunity. Nice outdoor space. Didn't feel like a main road but it is. Not too much traffic.

This pub had only one miniature bottle of red wine available at 5pm on a Saturday night; a very plain uninspiring pies, fish and chips menu, miserable bar staff and very slow food service. That said, we were hungry so we stayed and ordered. We were told that our food would take 20 minutes because the kitchen had two orders ahead of ours; it actually took 40 minutes. The young server was very lovely, friendly and attentive. When the over-priced food did eventually arrive it was served nice and hot and the pies and the fish were of a very good quality. If you like plain pub food, don't drink red wine, can tolerate slow food service and joyless bar service, you'll be fine, but we won't be returning any time soon.

Lovely ethos here, friendly warm family atmosphere. The owner who is also the chef believes in good quality live music as well. We had the additional fun of seeing a gooseberry competition in action. Go here for a quirky great night out and you'll feel like you've been going for years. Certainly on our hit list for every time we are close. It's the sort of place that makes you look for houses in the area 😁

Stayed at local campsite and walked down for few drinks and watch the football. Left it late to order food but the landlady said she would not let us go hungry, and served us the most delicious steak pie and chips.wow Great service and felt really welcome 👍😁

Took a diversion off the motorway to get something to eat, We had the Sunday roast, Pub, Staff , atmosphere and food all 5+++++ , We live nearly an hour away but we'll be going back.

Lovely atmosphere,busy and popular with locals,had good choice of menu, had the lasagne salad and chips, very tasty, and not greasy like some can be, hubby had the scampi, which he highly recommends. Dog friendly. Events like open Mic, check website or call in. SUNDAY lunch looked reasonable price.Alas won't be here to try.

Janet goes above and beyond to bring the local community together with regular live music, proper pub food (generous portions at very reasonable prices) and a really good drinks selection.

First time here, we walked from Royal Vale Campsite. The food was excellent, we had mushrooms in stilton sauce for starters and there was scampi and a curry for mains! Both were fantastic. Highly recommended! Doggie friendly too, outside space available. Large car park.

My 2 visit to this Lovely country pub, great to sit outside and enjoy the tasty home cooked food. Great staff, always cheerful, thanks for looking after us all.

Visited here for the first time, it was a music festival day, such friendly people all round, such a welcoming place. We had veggie burgers and veggie Sausages which were cooked fresh in front of us separate from the animal products, which was really good. Food was delicious. Looking forward to visiting here again.

A well-run traditional village inn. Welcoming and safe with excellent COVID procedures. Good food and a range of local traditional ales are served by the friendly and knowledgeable staff. Definitely one to visit if you are in the area.

Disappointed with the menu but food served was nice and fresh, a long way to go from Warrington just for tea, should have been told of the menu change prior to booking.

I regularly visit the crown and think the refurbishment is fabulous! It looks so cozy and inviting. We sometimes take a large group and Janet is always so accommodating and welcoming. It's great to see a traditional pub doing so well. A visit to the crown is always a delight. Jayne, knutsford
